3 days later

It was 1am, Jaime and Eddie had one more hour of this tour and then they could go home and get some sleep before there next night shift. They got more coffee and then decided to check out a neighborhood that was reported to be egged. When they pulled up there were already a few officers there and it looked like everyone on the block was outside complaining. Somthing stuck out though. There was one house that wasn't egged. So they decided to knock on there door. A women came to the door.

"Yes officer"

"Any idea why you were the only house that didn't get pranked ma'am?" Jaime asked her. She shook her head. Eddie stepped in.

"Ma'am do you have any children?" She asked she said yes and that she had a son and a daughter who are out with friends tonight. She seemed guilty.

"Have any idea of where they are?" Eddie asked. The women didn't know so they said thanks and left. There was rustling in the bushes, they both turned around and whipped out there flashlights. It was a young guy he started fleeing. Jaime took off after him

"I'll take the back!" Eddie told him and ran down the other side of the house.

"Police stop!" Jaime yelled. He gained on him. He turned to the left where Eddie would hopefully be.

"Bzzz" she tazed him and he fell to the ground.

"Nice work partner" Jaime said to her as he cuffed the guy and they got him up and back to the car. They questioned why he was running and he confessed to egging all his neighbors houses to be funny. His mom came barelling outside guns blazing and in an uproar.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY SON" she yelled.

"Mom I egged the houses" he told her.

"And that's a reason to get arrested!?" She asked.

"Ma'am it is a violation, damaging private property and trespassing." Eddie told her as she wrote stuff in her notepad. The lady stood there staring evilly at Eddie, Jaime stood there waiting for it. Yes, she threw her hand up to slap her but Jaime grabbed her and Eddie didn't even flinch. Happens a lot sadly. He threw her to the ground and cuffed her.

"You just threatened a police officer. Looks like we're all going for a ride now." He put her in the car but she was arguing back and then said somthing about a baby inside. Jaime looked at Eddie.

"Aw shiiit" the kid said.

"Ma'am is there a baby in the house?" Eddie asked her. She said yes but it was her granddaughter. Eddie went inside to see the situation and Jaime waited at the car. She went up to a bedroom where a baby lay in a crib fast asleep. She walked out of the room and radioed to Jaime to call cps and she'll wait inside until they get there. When Jaime responded the baby woke up. Eddie thought crap. She went back over to her and scooped her up in the blanket she was swaddled in and swayed her back and forth trying to get her to calm down and go back to sleep. But the crying got louder and louder. So she stopped and looked around for a binky and picked one up from the crib and put it in the babies mouth and she immediately sucked on it and stopped and started at Eddie. Her radio started making noises so she turned it off so the baby wouldn't get scared again.

"Hi sweetie. I know I'm not anyone you know but your in good hands. I've held babies before I promise. Eddie glanced up at the wall and saw the name above the crib it read "Annabel". She looked back at the baby and started to get teary eyed.

"You have a pretty name." She said and smiled at her. She still just stared at her sucking on the binky. She had to of been no more then 4 months old. She heard what sounded like someome from cps coming up the stairs. she quickly tried to get it back together, But it was Jaime. He entered the room. She wiped her tears. Trying not to think about her pregnancy test from the other day.

"Hey you good? You weren't radioing me back-" he stopped and realized she was holding the baby and upset. He came to her and looked at the baby.

"She heard it go off when I first got in and started crying so I turned it off." She told him.

"Gotcha. Well cps is held up and Briggs showed up so he's with the mom and kid. They said we can transport the baby by ambulance because the mother is out of town and the father has no rights." Jaime told her ignoring the fact that Eddie was upset a minute ago about something. She clearly didn't want him to know, because she wouldn't look at him. Eddie said okay but She wants to transport the baby herself.

"Okay. No problem." He got caught up in the sweetness of Eddie holding the infant. It was a side he never saw of her. He put his hand on her back and helped her walk back out. They got in the ambulance. the emt looked at her just to make sure everything was good. She was perfect. Jaime noticed eddies face still upset a little but trying to be happy with the baby in their presence. He can't wrap his head around why she's upset about this.
