Rose was in the Gryffindor common room laying on the couch, reading her book on hexes. She had just been at dinner, and her stomach was full of food. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see James playing with items he had gotten from George's joke shop, and she rolled her eyes but smiled. Her older cousin was always like that, and she couldn't help but laugh. She was in her 3rd year, and was excited that her cousin, Lily, had finally come to Hogwarts, but not so thrilled about her brother, as she found him quite annoying.
"Hey, Rose, catch," James suddenly said, and tossed her a bottle. She had been so unaware of what was happening, the bottle dropped to the ground right next to her leg and exploded. There was a large crash, then pain. She looked down at her leg, and it was covered in boils. She began to cry, and James rushed over to her.
"Sorry about that. You should head down to the hospital wing," he said apologetically. She nodded, but still casted him a nasty look, and pushed open to portrait. She headed down the stairs, her leg burning. She had been so mad, she didn't think to get help to walk down to Madame Pomfrey. Rose got to the third staircase before sitting down, not able to walk anymore. She sat there, crying, when a figure appeared over her. She looked up, startled. It was a boy, and he had on Slytherin robes. He looked like he was in the 5th or 6th year, and had green eyes and brown, wavy hair. He was skinny, but still had lots of muscles. He stared at her, then cast a crooked smile at her.
"Why are you crying," he asked bluntly. She pointed at her leg, in too much pain to be angry at him for his tone. "Ah, boils… well, I would help you, but you're not in my house… pity... " Rose thought to herself for a moment, knowing that arguing with him wouldn't make him help her, even though it was hard not to. Finally, she came up with an idea.
"My cousins in your house, Albus Potter-"
"You're Rose? I'm.. I'm sorry… let me help you up," he said suddenly. Rose couldn't help think what he just said was odd, but shrugged it off. At least he was helping her. He supported her weight, and she thanked him.
"How did you get these," the boy asked.
"My cousin, James, threw a potion for me to catch but I missed and it dropped to the ground."
"Oh, I see."
"What is your name anyways," she asked him.
"Sean Goyle." Rose had heard that name before, but she didn't know where. They made their way down the stairs, when all of a sudden, Sean turned left and threw her against the wall.
"WHAT ARE YOU-" was all she could get out before he pulled out his wand and pointed it at her.
"Imperio!" Suddenly, a feeling of peace washed over her. She felt light and bubbly, and she could not focus.
Sleep, a voice said. It was so hard to resist, and she did as it said. Sean picked her up, and carried her to the Hospital Wing. He paused at the door, and then ran in.
"MADAME POMFREY," he yelled, and a woman in white robes came running out.
Barely breath, the voice said again. Rose did so, and began almost wheezing. Madame Pomfrey carried Rose to a bed.
"What happened?"
"I don't know. I found her in the courtyard unconscious, and she had boils all over her leg. I think maybe she was hit with a spell coming down here, or got a boils curse or potion thrown at her and had a bad reaction to it. I don't exactly know what I walked in on…" Sean said convincingly.
"That's a very rare reaction, but I believe you're right about it being a reaction," she said quietly.
"Do you think he will need to be sent to St. Mungo's?"
"Yes, if it gets worse, but the family will be contacted. Thank you Mr. Goyle." Sean was swept out by Madame Pomfrey, and when the doors closed behind him, he smiled. The plan was beginning to unravel.
