I do not own Duck Tales.

Enjoy!

When Launchpad woke up, he felt like something had changed.

He got up for work and began to head to one of the employee bathrooms with a towel, he felt very uncomfortable for some reason as he walked through the Manor as if something was following him.

He entered the bathroom and did his morning routine and then he came out, steaming and ready to go, only to come face to face with Webby.

He let out a scream.

"Good morning, Launchpad," she said, finally after he calmed down.

Wait what?

Good morning?

And nobody could fault him for looking behind him thinking somebody else was there because this girl never said good morning to him before.

"Wait. Your talking to me?" He said before he said. "Yeah. Good morning."

He then walked past her but Webby soon followed him.

"So what are you doing today?" She said.

"Well, I want to wear clothes and get ready to drive Mr McD to work this morning," he said. "And then I'll see where the day takes me"

"Really? How interesting" said Webby. "Can I come?"

And he almost tripped.

Come?

What in the world, hit her this morning?

He closed the door behind him because they had entered his room and it would be a lie if he didn't feel uncomfortable seeing her face as he slowly closed the door behind him.

He changed into his work clothes and headed back again to make himself breakfast, all the Duck family ate together in the big dining hall while everybody else found their own food.

He realised Webby and her friend following him to the kitchen.

What in the world?

He entered the kitchen and got out his favourite cereal and poured milk.

When he turned around Webby had a notebook out.

"Don't mind her. She's just interested in you" said Lena making him blink owlishly.

"Okay then..." He said, eating slowly before leaving and heading back to the basement where he closed the door behind him, he finished it and then came out to wash his bowl.

He devoured some breath mints and walk back to his basement and waited for his employer Scrooge to come.

However, when the duck did come, he was met with a surprise.

Every kid in the house walked behind the Duck.

Huh?

"Good news, Launchpad," said Scrooge. "The kids have taken an interest in the family business. So they will be joining today"

He blinked and said. "Okay..."

"I want to sit in front!" said Webby as they got in.

He made sure everybody was buckled in before crashing out of there.

Now normally he would start talking about himself, but Webby who was staring at him from the other seat and making him incredibly uncomfortable.

"So...where did you learn Arabic?" Said Webby.

"Huh?" He said.

"Dewey said you know some words," said Webby.

"Oh, I got lucky," he said. "I guess I really did pick up some words like he said"

He gave off that 'you just had to be there' air, a smile was on his lips as he clearly thought of something very fondly.

Since when did he have this side of him?

Not even Scrooge had seen this side of him.

Launchpad managed to park in front of the Money bin.

"Alright, everybody gets out," he said, as he got out and everybody did so too.

"Thank you for the minimum damage on the car, Launchpad," said Scrooge.

"Your welcome," he said, raising his hat up in thanks.

And then they walked up the steps and entered the building.

"So this where your uncle works? Nice" said Lena as they all realised that this was indeed the first time she had been to the money bin.

They entered the elevator and it took them to the meeting floor.

Once there, they got out and headed to the door and that's when Launchpad turned around.

"Where are you, going?" Said Webby.

"I'm going to visit a friend down below to see if he needs help," said Launchpad, as much as he admired his Employer, he could not sit in a room with three stern vultures staring him down and using big words.

"Oh, you're visiting that guy," said Dewey, much to most of their surprise.

Scrooge went into the room.

"I'm going to look around for a bit," said Huey.

"I'm totally not going to try and break into the safe," said Louie.

Now it was just him, Dewey and the girls.

They went back into the elevator.

"Who are we visiting?" Said Lena.

"Some nerd in the Scrooge's personal lab," said Dewey.

And then the door closed and the elevator went down.

When it opened, they walked through some corridors before entering a hi-tech room.

Gyro Gearloose was not happy to see them.

"Good Lord, there's more of them," said the bird.

"Hey, Gyro," said Dewey.

"Oh, are you Launchpad friend?" Said Webby.

"Actually no," said Gyro, before he said. "But he is"

He pointed to Fenton Crackshell who was coming in, with a clipboard.

"Dewey, Launchpad..." The duck said before trailing off.

"I'm Webby and this my friend Lena," said Webby. "So how to do you know them?"

"I ur, helped Launchpad win the driving race," said the Duck.

"Cool, how many explosions happen in here?" Said Lena.

"No touching!" Yelled Gryo in the background.

"Just wanted to see if you needed help," said Launchpad.

"Thank you, but everything has been taken care of," said the Duck.

"Well, if you need anything. You have my number" he said, before walking away and going back to the elevator.

"Are we going to visit that movie guy next?" Said Dewey.

"Movie guy?" Said Lena, with Webby looking confused.

"I made a huge Darkwing Duck friend who just happened to be an actor," he said. "But the drive is too long. I won't make it in time to pick Mister McD up. I'll just go home and do some car maintenance"

"Great. I get to go back home, " said Lena.

And then they walked out, they drove back home and Lena walked back into the mansion.

However Webby stayed outside.

"Need help?" Said Dewey.

"I would love for you to get me my tools," he said, lifting up the hood.

"On it and maybe a peanut butter sandwich?" Said Dewey.

"Oh, my God. Yes. You know me so well!" he said.

"I'm on it," said Dewey getting him the tools and going inside to get him the sandwich.

Leaving him alone with creepy Webby.

He felt uncomfortable for a few minutes as he worked on the vehicle.

Thankfully Dewey came back.

"Here's your sandwich," said Dewey.

"Thanks, little buddy," he said, taking it.

Dewey watched for a bit before he sat on his couch.

The duck had been in his room many times before so he noticed when there were certain things he hadn't seen before.

"There is a lot of training equipment in here," said Dewey. "And are those books that are not comic books?"

Webby came over and she was just as stunned to see Launchpad book collection like Dewey.

'Learning Arabic for dummies'

'How to message your body well'

'Exercises to help you breathe well'

'How to strategies for Dummies'

And many more.

"Oh, yeah. A friend of mine told me, she wouldn't continue hanging out with me, if I don't have some basic knowledge," he said, Gummy had actually given him homework, she told him he had to start thinking when he fought instead of wildly swinging and hoping his strength would be enough.

"Why do you need to learn Arabic?" Said Webby.

"It doesn't hurt to learn another language," he said.

But he didn't answer her question.

Why Arabic specifically, though?

"And why did you hang up a puzzle that is barely filled in?" Said Dewey.

There was an incomplete puzzle strangely framed in the wall above the TV.

"I like to frame things. Besides I don't say anything when you lot frame weird stuff onto the walls" he said. "It's pretty tame compared to you guys"

He finished up an hour later and went to take the plate in when he ran into Miss B holding a pile of stuff.

The top stuff began to tip but before Miss B could tell him to move, in a quick motion, Launchpad caught them all.

He did this in front of Miss B and the kids.

They were all stunned.

"Here, you go Miss B," he said handing it back to her and putting it on the rest.

"...Thank you, Launchpad" said Miss B. "Have you been going to a martial arts gym or something recently?"

"You can tell?" He said. "I recently made a very good friend who is crazy about martial arts and other fighting stuff. The first time we met, she pinned me to the floor with just her plastic cane. It was so awesome" before he said. "Well, see you, Miss B"

He continued to the kitchen.

Webby turned to Dewey only to see the duck equally as stunned.

"I have no idea who he's talking about..." Said Dewey.

He came back and entered his room, only to notice the ducks following him.

"Can I have some privacy?" He said.

"Why? Aren't you going to watch Darkwing duck reruns?" Said Dewey.

"Actually no," he said, stunning the Duck. "I'm going to do lifts and practise some fighting exercises. Do you honestly want to smell sweaty duck?"

And then he closed the door, and began to lift, balance and do fighting exercise moves, it took him to Lunch we're he showered, ate and watched Darkwing Duck reruns for the rest of the day.

And then he began to drive out of the garage only to see Dewey and Webby waiting for him.

He let them get in.

"By the way, Launchpad. Who were you talking about before?" Said Dewey.

"A friend, you've never met," he said, without thinking.

Dewey was stunned.

The ride to the money bank was a silent one and Scrooge with Louie and Huey saw the limousine and walked towards it.

They entered it and he crashed out of there.

The drive was eerily silent.

"Hey, Uncle Scrooge can we put on some music?" Said Huey.

"It would drain the car battery but why not," said Scrooge.

"Okay, what radio?" He said.

"Actually, why don't we let Launchpad choose the music?" Said, Scrooge.

"Me?" He said.

"Actually go ahead, Launchpad," said Huey.

"Alright, but it's not on the radio," said Launchpad.

And then they all thought they would get something Darkwing related for more than twenty minutes.

He put the casket in and surprised them all by the sound of a harmonica and an electronic beat for an intro.

And then they heard English but it quickly changed to a completely different language.

Everybody was surprised even Scrooge, Launchpad was completely oblivious to this as he nodded his head to the beat.

He had been exposed to other songs thanks to his friends at Jigsaw.

And then came to the fast rap part and he sang in off-key Spanish because he wasn't that great of a singer anyway however he kept in synch with the singer and got all the words right, which was what really mattered.

He completely forgot that he wasn't alone in the vehicle as he tapped the wheel and continued to sing along.

And it wasn't just this song that wasn't all English, he had a whole playlist that the other Ducks were only listening to it now and watching him sing.

"Launchpad...where did you hear all this music from?" Said Scrooge startling him.

"Friends," he said. "One of them told me, I don't have to know what it means to enjoy it and he was right. I got exposed to all kind of stuff, I ended up burning to a casket. Sometimes even I need a break from Darkwing Duck"

Everybody mouths we're open.

He parked into the garage and everybody got out.

"Well, see you tomorrow or later tonight I guess," he said.

He didn't ask about what they were all doing later and trying to desperately interject.

He had changed.

And then he went to the couch and started to watch another Darkwing Duck marathon.

Well not that much.

They all slowly got out of there, they couldn't believe they spent the past 20 minutes listening to music that had sprinkles of English in from Launchpad.

Scrooge talked to very surprise Miss B about what just happened.

"Wow. Who know Launchpad was such an interesting person?" said Huey.

Webby took out something.

It was his phone.

"And you got his phone," said Louie.

"A Duck life is on his phone," said Webby.

"Wait. You shouldn't have taken it" said Huey before he said. "Who am I kidding. I want to see"

They unlocked it, only to see the familiar password screen.

However, when they tried to think like Launchpad, they were rejected, before they know it 4 chances had become one.

"Try 0000," said Dewey.

"What? Isn't that the passcode that companies tell you not to set?" said Louie.

"Launchpad, really is that simple," said Dewey. "I unlocked his phone for him two months ago."

They tried it.

However, it was denied.

The phone completely closed, Dewey's mouth was open.

Launchpad had changed his password.

Why?

"Man, not even Dewey knows Launchpad," said Louie.

Launchpad had officially become the most interesting person in the house.

And he was about to get more interesting.

When Launchpad came out of his room to get food, he heard.

"Good to see you, Launchpad." Came Miss B voice.

He turned to see Miss B beside Scrooge as the family are.

For the first time in weeks, he saw Donald.

"Yes, Miss B?" He said.

"A letter came for you. I'm pretty sure it a bill for the dry cleaning" she said, handing it to him.

Dry cleaning?

He didn't do dry cleaning, he had Miss B wash his clothes.

He took it but when he took a look at the address, he didn't see the dry cleaning address, he saw a Jigsaw symbol.

He could see it because he had the mark.

The moment he saw it, he ripped it open real fast.

It was finally time for him to attend a secret society party held in the city over, the society was paying for them all to come.

In other words, a chance to make new friends.

He was up for spending a night, meeting new people.

Meanwhile, everybody was watching his face go from surprise to really soft.

Was he really reading a bill?

"Thanks, Miss B," he said, "I'll make sure to pay the bill"

He then turned around and walked away, really mysterious like.

There was no way the kids weren't spying on him tomorrow.

And scene!
