Law and Enyo teleported from the commodore's office to the main deck of the ship. From their elevated position the pair looked down to the mess of shouts and clanging metal, the pirates had somehow found weapons and were engaging the marines.

"Captain!" Someone cried.

Most of the soldiers turned to gawk at the sudden appearance of the pirate captain, along with some woman. Spud looked in disbelief and shouted into his mini den den mushi.

"They made it! Bring her up and lets get out off here!"

An affirmative grunt came from the snail phone and by that time the battle resumed. Dorian dodged fists and swords as he ran up the stairs.

"Miss Enyo! Captain! Are you two alright?!"

"Yeah." Law said, he turned to the woman beside him. "Now what?"

"Did everyone get out?" She asked Dorian, he nodded.

"Good, Spud should have contacted Bart by now and-"

[BLUB! BLUB BLUB BLUB BLUBBLUBBLUB!]

Beside the ship the sea began to bubble as if it were boiling, then, with a loud splash a fantastically familiar yellow mass burst from the waves.

"It's here!" A crew member shouted. The pirates still fought but retreated to the railing as they did, ready to jump over to the sub and escape.

"I'll buy some time." Law said, unsheathing his nodachi.

"Make sure everyone gets on the ship safely."

And with that, he jumped down into the fray, toying with the marines and pushing them where he wanted. Enyo watched in awe at his fluid, practiced movements, she'd never actually seen him fight without his powers before. She was distracted, and it all happened before she could register, Dorian shouted her name as the shot rang out.

… (Dorian's POV) ...

Aries and Remus had heard a large splash only moments ago, and as they reached the main deck they saw the pirate captain jump down and engage their men. Aires drew his sword and made a b-line for Trafalgar, but Remus looked up and saw that woman and some kid standing on the upper deck. 'This will be the last time you humiliate me!' He thought, and he snatched a rifle from one of the marines. The commander took aim at the woman, then fired.

I watched as a commander plucked a gun from a nearby soldier, watched as his eyes stared dead at us, no, not us, her. He raised the weapon and closed one eye, I shouted her name as I stood between them, my back to him. I felt the thud, the pressure before anything else. I looked straight into her eye as it darted to me, then widened with the realisation of what had just happened. She cried my name as I slumped forward. Her skin was so soft and warm, warm like the blood beginning to soak the back of my uniform. My shoulder stung and burned and felt like it was freezing all at the same time.

"Dorian! Are you alright?" She said desperately as she cradled me.

Looking at the hot stickiness that was my blood on her pale hand she called out for the captain, but he was busy holding off the marine leader. A couple of the nurse-men noticed and ran over to help, Enyo stepped back to give them room, and a look of fear warped those lovely features. She looked down, her hair covering her face, and a dark expression slowly took over. Then, her hair began to grow, and grow, and grow. Smooth and rippling, it washed across the wood floor like a sheet of silk. Meanwhile, the man that shot me was thundering across the deck to finish us, he didn't get to the bottom of the stairs when Enyo's hair converged and engulfed him, picking up speed, he was shot all the way back across the deck, and through at least several walls. I could see her face now, her anger. Soldiers took action, slashing and shooting the mass of silver, but to no avail, some swords even broke in half. Slowly, the hair began to return from the tunnel it had made, binding tighter, undulating like a serpent out of its nest. I couldn't believe how right I was, because what came out of that cavern was not what went in. It was not silky silvery locks, but a massive snake, a "Basilisk", I looked at Enyo as she muttered it under her breath, then back to the monster, a giant serpent of steel with hollow, empty eyes that looked down at the marines, they were absolutely petrified. It's mercury tongue flicked out as if tasting their fear. The beast opened it's mouth and I couldn't believe my eyes, fangs! It had fangs! One silver and one gold. The entire ship stood in awe or terror, some probably both, even the captain looked surprised, but took the opportunity and sliced up the commodore, leaving his still living bits strewn across the deck. He teleported to us and looked at Enyo, who was either concentrating hard, or just that furious, then immediately knelt beside me, assessing my injuries.

"Get him to the infirmary." Enyo finally spoke.

"Get them all off this damn ship."

I was surprised the captain didn't bite back, he hates being ordered around, but his familiar blue sphere encompassed the two vessels, I looked to Enyo one last time and when our eyes met her's softened, then I was in the infirmary, and what went on up there after that I don't know.

With the entire crew now safely onboard the sub Enyo could wreak her vengeance. Aries had managed to put himself back together and made to charge over to their ship, but the Basilisk swooped between them, snapping and hissing at the marine, its long, thick body shoved his subordinates into walls and banisters, shattering the wood, and knocking them unconscious or overboard. The man and monster danced in battle, strikes and slashes resounded through the air, the commander held his ground until the snakes forked tongue shot out and wrapped around his blade, yanking it from his grasp and sending it skittering across the deck. The serpent struck again, it's gaping maw ready to devour the marine, but his reflexes were well trained, as was his body, and he caught the jaws of the ophidian creature in his strong hands, stopping it from snapping down on him. He saw it was in fact Remus's sickles that had become the monsters fangs, the latter, still deep in that hole the creature had put him in.

Aries shoved the snake's head away and used the moment to dive for his scimitar, in a practiced roll he scooped up the sword and resumed a defensive stance, he needed to cut off its head, he needed to cut down the woman. Enyo stayed in place, her creation's tail cautiously coiled around her feet before sweeping up to her head. She sent it lunging for the commander, but he dodged and the serpent bit into the ship. As it withdrew, taking a decent chunk of the vessel with it, Aries charged for her with his sword raised high. The marine brought down a heavy strike aiming right for Enyo's head, but the coil at her feet sprung up and blocked the hit just in time, the seasoned soldier pushed down heavily with the blade, attempting to cut through the tightly bonded strands, but they were evenly matched. Aries spotted a gap in her defence and through a space in the spring like structure landed a sudden kick to her midsection, sending Enyo flying back into a wall. Winded, she slumped down, and the basilisk collapsed onto the deck.

Everyone was safe on the sub, well, almost everyone. Law had seen Enyo take on multiple enemies at once with relative ease, but this time there was a high ranking marine officer, would she be ok? Before he teleported the rest of the crew, he witnessed her create that enormous snake with her devil fruit powers, Law had no idea she was capable of such a thing. The captain rushed down to the infirmary where Dorian waited, he had been shot, taking a bullet that was meant for Enyo. There were other injuries, but thankfully his was the worst of it, Law would make sure he was stable before going back for Enyo, she wanted to buy them time. Bart would watch her from the sub's scope and send help if she needed it, but she's stronger than she thinks.

'She can handle herself for ten minutes ' Law thought before bursting into his infirmary.

"Captain!" The boy exclaimed as his superior marched through the doors, hastily donning a pair of sterile gloves.

"Miss Enyo-"

"She's fine." lie

"Bart is looking after her." Not a total lie.

"She's still up there, isn't she?" He mused distantly as he lay on his stomach on the table.

"Dorian. I have faith in the abilities and strength of my crew," the surgeon said as he dug into his patient's back, earning a painful moan through clenched teeth. "You should too."

"If I thought she was in any real danger I wouldn't be here."

The bullet clanged into the metal pan, but by now the all Dorian could focus on was the pain.

"Antiseptic." Law informed flatly as he poured the stinging, fiery liquid into the wound, washing the bacteria away with burning punishment. The young pirate's blue eyes snapped open and his muscles jarred and seized as the alcohol did its work. He handed the bottle back to his offside, and was about to take the curved needle to begin stitching the boy up when Bart's voice echoed from the intercom, calm as ever.

"Captain."

"Finish him up." Law instructed his nurse and began removing his soiled gloves, throwing them in the sink as he rushed out the door. Either Dorian was in too much pain to hear or he was silent with anger, Law didn't know, or care, but Bart calling for him meant only one thing, Enyo was in trouble.

The woman heaved and coughed as her stomach ached from the kick, she looked up to see Aries approaching, that Lion sword shining in the moonlight, promising death. The commodore stopped before her, and pointed that blade at her face.

"Surrender Pirate, unlike you I don't take pleasure in murder."

"I don't think your lieutenant shares your compassion." She spoke venomously, thinking of what he did to Dorian.

"Remus is prideful and impetuous, he still has a lot to learn."

"Yeah well… so do you."

In that moment a tendril of hair that Aries had not noticed constricted around his ankle and yanked him back, swinging him in a wide arc and slamming him into one of the masts, cracking and splintering the wood. Law reached the deck of the sub just in time to see the Marine become a human slingshot, he looked over to Enyo who was still seated and holding her midsection.

"Enyo-ya!" The captain shouted as he jumped aboard the enemy ship and ran to his subordinate. She began to stand and Law made to help her "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, he just knocked the wind out of me, I wasn't expecting it."

"You held yourself well, but its time to go."

"What about him?"

With a nod she gestured to the commander who rose from the ground, chips of wood falling off of him. In a swift movement he tore off his tattered shirt, revealing a matured yet masculine body, flecked with pale scars, and readied himself to continue the fight.

"Get on the sub, I'll handle him."

"I'm not leaving you-"

"That's an order."

Enyo's brow inclined, but she nodded curtly. Law drew his sword and she ran to jump on the sub, but Aries charged for her.

"I won't let any of you escape!"

Enyo stopped to defend herself but Law jumped between them, intercepting the commander's strike.

"GO!"

The woman continued her sprint and leaped over the railing, landing on the deck of the Heart Pirate's ship. She watched as the men clashed, their swords sparking and whining as they met. Law was an excellent swordsman, but Aries had the experience that came with age. Enyo looked down to her hair, and followed its trail up as it draped across the gap between the ships, it was still attached to the dormant serpent aboard the marine vessel.

'I am still technically on the sub…'

After a moment of thought the woman raised her arm, hand open as if holding an object, and willed the creature back to life. The Basilisk awoke from its slumber and slowly rose once more, it turned to the men and let out a monstrous hiss. Aries turned at the sound.

"Shit!"

Law took advantage of the distraction and attacked, the marine barely blocked a slash to his chest, and the pair re-engaged, regardless of the beast that watched them. Enyo feared she might harm her captain should she attack the enemy directly, so she feinted, striking, but not, distracting Aries and blocking him, giving Law the upper hand, the commodore struggled with the two adversaries. When the grey serpent suddenly backed off, Aries didn't question it, his blood was on fire and he went at the infamous pirate with full force. He had Trafalgar on the defence, driving him until the captain leaped further back, almost to the end of the ship, he would be cornered.

"Aren't you forgetting someone?"

A feminine voice called out. Aries turned, and his breath caught in his throat at the sight before him. The creature had nearly tripled in size, Remus's sickles were gone and a massive pair of fangs made from the same pewter as the monster had replaced them, but that wasn't the problem. The beast's gargantuan body was coiled around the main mast of the ship, and the wood groaned under pressure as it constricted tighter. The commanders teeth clenched and within moments the mast crumbled under the snake's force. Splintered wood began shooting in all directions and the larger chunks crashed around him. Law seized the moment and flew forward, slashing the man in half as his ship collapsed around him.

The Captain jumped onto the sub and looked to Enyo, the woman was already holding the silver sickle, and sliced off her mass excess of hair, however her breathing was laboured, and she was clearly fatigued. Within seconds of severing the last strand Selene fell to the deck, and Enyo's limp body followed.

"Enyo-ya!"

Law barely caught her before she hit the floor, just as Bepo came running out. The bear didn't get a word in before Law ordered him to grab the crescent moon blade and get inside. Following his captain's instruction he sealed the door behind them and the yellow submarine sunk beneath the surface.

Enyo's eye slowly opened, she yawned and stretched, feeling the familiar blankets of the infirmary wrapped around her. She looked up to see a dark haired figure asleep in the seat beside her bed.

"Dorian!"

The young man jolted awake and looked around, but when his cerulean eyes fell on her they widened.

"Miss Enyo! How are you feeling?"

"Me? Who cares? Dorian, what about you? You, your arm!"

She gestured the the sling the boy's right arm was wrapped in, but before either of them could continue, Law appeared from behind the curtain that separated the beds.

"The bullet cracked his scapula, not much, but enough that he will be wearing that for a month. Drink this."

The doctor captain said as he handed Enyo a cup full of orange liquid. The woman squinted at the glass and sniffed its contents.

"What is it?"

"Just drink it."

She let out a small huff and cautiously sipped the elixir.

"Huh, its sweet." She said, downing the rest and putting the glass on the side table.

"So how are you feeling?" (L)

"A little weak, but otherwise fine."

"The electrolyte mixture you just drank should see to that. But, I need to ask you a few questions before I can discharge you."

"What? No tests?" Enyo said smirking. Law returned his own while putting his hands in the pockets of his lab coat.

"I already conducted the necessary tests on you while you were sleeping."

Enyo's mouth gaped a bit and she looked down to see a small circular bandaid on her arm, she shivered in discomfort.

"How long was I out?"

"About several hours." Law said flatly.

"Several hours!? What the hell happened to me?!

"I think you overexerted yourself. Your ribs are intact but you have only some bruising around your midsection, despite what Bart said happened."

"What happened!?" Dorian cut in.

"That marine bastard kicked me halfway across the ship."

"And didn't break a thing. You seem to be made of sturdy stuff Enyo-ya. Or you're just incredibly lucky."

"Hmh." Was all she could muster.

"Dorian, go get something to eat, you've been sitting here for hours."

He was going to protest but Law gave him one of those do as your told looks, so he left. After he had walked out of the infirmary Enyo looked to her captain.

"Is he really going to be alright?"

"Of course."

Her teal eye cast down to her lap where her hands rested.

"It's my fault."

Law's gaze went from the door to his subordinate.

"You cant blame yourself for-"

"Of course I can!"

Their eyes met and Enyo's was brimming with tears.

"All of this is my fault! I couldn't stop the thief! Because of that everyone was out looking for the treasure that I lost, and got captured for it! And it was that dammed nun and her priest that called the marines in the first place! And then Dorian-"

"Wait. What nun and priest?"

He knew the father seemed off when he visited the church. Enyo sniffled, but calmed herself.

"When I woke up I remembered what had happened. Bepo told me about the olibanum, I could still smell it in the hall too. So we went to the church and I found the thief, she's a nun. She was talking to a priest who said he had alerted the marines, but by the time I found you, it was too late."

"I see… How did you know there was an intruder on the sub in the first place?"

Enyo gave her captain a look.

"You're going to think I'm crazy."

"Try me."

"[sigh], fine. I could… feel her."

"Feel her?"

"Yeah, like her presence. I followed the feeling and it got stronger until I found her, like a… human dowsing rod. That's how I found you. It… felt, like you."

"Have you ever had experiences like this before?"

"No, not like this."

Law folded his arms and scratched his chin as he thought.

'Is it possible that Enyo possesses kenbunshoku haki? I'll have to trial her with it.'

"We'll worry about that later. Now, in regards to last night, have you ever used your devil fruit powers to that extent before?"

"No, I've never made a 'thing' with it before, or controlled that much at once. I only had my abilities for a short while until I was put into the kairoseki collar."

"Ok. Well, I think the cause of you fainting and sleeping for so long is because you overused your ability, and your body paid for it. My ability depletes my stamina as well, so, you will have extra exercise after training to build your endurance."

Enyo didn't look too happy at the idea of more exercise, but Law continued.

"Despite that, you did exceptionally well out there, I'm impressed."

The woman's face began to flush.

"But, you're inexperienced, and I should not have left you out there alone. I'm sorry."

"I-it's ok captain…"

"Finally, what happened in Aries's office? You completely zoned out and looked like you were about to breakdown."

Enyo's breath hitched in her throat.

"I… don't really want to talk about it…"

'What ever it is it must be deeply personal, trauma perhaps?…'

"Well, if you ever feel ready to talk about it, or anything else, let me know."

Her somber expression lightened.

"Heh, I didn't think you were that kind of doctor."

"I'll be whatever kind my crew needs me to be."

"Thank you, captain."

Law nodded, stepping back he gestured she was free to go. The woman left with a pair of steely grey eyes watching her as the door closed, and Law went back to his desk, to work out the heart pirates next move.

. . .

Enyo spent the rest of the day meal prepping and conversing with other crew members, talk was mainly about the events of the previous evening and what might happen next. Bart was keeping the sub hidden while also watching the marine activity up on the surface. By the afternoon nothing much had changed, but Enyo, Penguin, Sachi and Bepo were called to Law's office. The captain was seated at his desk, tattooed fingers laced together in front of his mouth.

The bear was the first to speak.

"You wanted to see us captain."

"Yes. When night falls, the five of us will be paying a visit to the basilica. We will find this thief, and this liar, who call themselves clergy. Then we will show them what happens when you steal from me, and endanger my crew."

"Yes captain." The three said, with Enyo's "yes captain." A little behind.

She had never seen him like this, it was sort of scary, like how she imagined pirates would be before actually meeting one.

"Be ready in an hour."

Another "yes captain" and the four left.

Enyo returned to her quarters where she prepared for the night ahead. She once again put on her new jumpsuit, thankful there was more than just one, and willed her hair into a pony tail that still reached her tailbone, loose bangs framed her face and partially covered the medical eyepatch she now wore in place of bandages. The hour had passed and she met with the others on the bridge, were Bart was talking to the captain.

"We've arrived on the eastern coast, if you make your way inland from here you should arrive at the back of the church."

"And the marines?"

"They seem to be focused on repairing their ship. We've been here long enough for the log pose to set so they probably assume we fled."

"We can't be positive, keep an eye on them."

Bart nodded. "Should you need anything, call us."

Law nodded as well. "Are we ready?"

A mix of yes and aye sir's came from the group, and as they headed for the door, the sub began to ascend
