Welcome Home – Villain! Izuku x Reader
This started as a note on my phone, it was meant to be an outline then some scenes, but then I kept adding more and more to it. And before I knew it I had a full one shots worth of writing on a 'simple' story idea.
Mostly focuses on Izuku, but reader is semi-present in the story. I said she, but really I didn't give much detail so imagine what you like.
EDIT: My first upload attempt didn't work properly, so sorry for like the three people that had to see that garbled mess
Anyway, hope you enjoy
BEGIN STORY.
He hated it.
He hated his life at this shitty school.
He was sick of people bullying him for being quirkless, everyone around him belittling or not believing in him.
The looks. Both pity and annoyance alike. The judging stares.
Nobody wanted to know, nobody cared.
As far as pretty much anyone else in his life was concerned, he was a lost cause. A delusional weakling who wanted things he couldn't have. A hopeless dreamer who refused to see reality.
The quirkless shouldn't be heroes. They had no power, they were weak. So they obviously couldn't accomplish something like a hero job right? Only those with strong or useful quirks could get there, everyone knew that.
Except for her.
Y/N.
She could have fit in anywhere, her teleportation quirk was amazing, so many friend to make and people to impress. Even Katsuki would have respected her, loathe as the boy would have been to admit it.
Rescue hero, perfect for popping in and saving any civilians or hostages caught in trouble. Surprise attacks, while a villain was being engaged she could appear behind them and end the confrontation in an instant.
He remembered, once upon a time, analysing her quirk, excitedly scribbling in his journal. Because no doubt she'd be such a great hero wouldn't she? Of course she would! She was so bright and loving with him, they'd both be heroes together. Wouldn't they?
She could have had so much. So many possible options for her.
But she chose him.
She would teleport him away from danger as soon as she saw he was in trouble. Some days she got there in time, others she didn't. He never blamed her for that. He even had to hold her back from challenging Katsuki some days. They were in different classes, but they were closer to each other then they were with either of their classmates.
She chose to lift him up, to encourage him. They were jealous, she said, that they were threatened that someone with no natural talents at all could do better then someone with such and advantage.
It was nice advice, it really was. Another world, another life, she could have been the worlds best hero. Truly one of the greats.
"Hey Izuku, you done yet?"
And yet here she was.
With him.
Some days he felt bad. He didn't exactly have hope for himself, but sometimes he could look at her and see. See exactly what he had effectively taken from the world, the widely adored hero he had robbed it of.
A light he had taken from the world, and essentially made off with it to shine in people's eyes as he pleased.
She assured him she was happy to come with him.
She didn't have much family to miss, no one to miss her either. That's what she told him anyway. Not much in the way of attachments to stop her.
Even before, he had never met her family. She didn't speak much of them, and Izuku had mostly been curious. But he could guess.
How she'd always wore long sleeves at school, she'd jumped a little at sudden loud noises. Always some reason why she couldn't have him over.
He could only guess what that meant. And he didn't like it at all.
Yet another reason he was here.
Her.
Her family, or what he assumed her family to be, were exactly the type he hated. The type that kept him going down this path.
Those that couldn't be caught by police, those that crept through the shadows and abused their power and laughed at others misery. Cowardly lowlife criminals that thought they were tough because they knew how to hit and run. To slip away after their violent deed was done. Those who twisted the law and abused it to get away with whatever they wanted.
Not even All Might was needed here.
All Might. The number one hero, the symbol of peace. He scoffed at that.
A hero. A hero who looked a desperate bullied child in the eyes and told him his hopes and dreams were pointless.
"Realistic"
Izuku knew what that meant. Knew how to read between the lines, even if the shiniest show pony of them all hadn't used those words exactly.
A scared child who only wanted his hero to smile and encourage him, to hear that he could do something to help people.
Not even a lie, at least anything else. Any scrap of half truth or encouragement would have been nice. Anything, anything at all.
Realistic.
"Didn't miss as always Izuku, well done!"
Was this realistic enough for you All Might?
Was the body in front of him realistic enough?
Was the last one?
Or the one before that?
Realistic.
As he stared at the lifeless body in front of him, it made him think. What was the one way he could prove his point better then anything else? How could some 'quirkless loser' show up fancy quirks. Him and Y/N were quickly spreading through the surrounding areas as some kind of vigilante myth, but to truly, truly, make his point, he needed to something more.
Oh no, this wouldn't stop by any means. There was always trash to clean up off the streets after all.
He was the one that analysed the villains they went after, he was the one who tracked them down not the police. She was the one who got them out of danger, the one that got them to safety and took care of him, not some flashy hero.
"Yeah Y/N, I'm done here."
She was all he needed now.
Anyone else wasn't his concern.
Not All Might. Not that pretentious League of Villains.
"Say, Y/N, how would you feel about enrolling at UA?"
She blinked, surprised for a moment, then smiled. That same smile that told him she was loyal, she'd chosen to follow him down this path and would continue to do so happily.
"Of course Izuku, but why? I thought we weren't interested in heroes anymore?"
"A fair point, but didn't we find out All Might was teaching there?"
"I thought we weren't interested in him either?"
A fair point.
"No, I'm not. But I want him to understand exactly what he did. He needs to know, to see. I want him to-"
"Alright Izuku. You don't want your face to be known right? Let's do it then."
She grabbed his hand, and the couple vanished without a word.
As usual, she was perfect. She knew exactly what he wanted and why. Nobody else understood him, nobody else was good enough. Nobody.
Realistic.
He'd show everyone exactly what that word meant.
How realistic was he now?
END STORY
Can't believe I got this much out of a simple note on my phone.
I got really into a bunch of villain Izuku videos on youtube, and as I was watching they got me thinking. From there this one shot was made.
Don't know if this is going to be continued, I have some projects to see through first.
Either way, I hope you enjoyed this.
Cya next time
