Yea, I don't own Miraculous Ladybug. Thanks for pointing out the commands. They have been yelled at and got deleted.
"Milady, do you ever get cold"? Chat's Question seemed to be out of nowhere.
"Of course I do" she laughed.
"No, I mean in your civilian identity." She looked baffled, so he elaborated. "Like I have some cat traits that stay with me out of the mask, do you have ladybug traits?"
"If you mean do I want to eat aphids? Nope." She brought her hands behind her head.
"But ladybugs hibernate." Chat pressed. "Don't you get sleepy and super cold in the winter?" She looked thoughtful.
"I've never really thought about it, but I guess? These past few winters have been nasty for me." Their breath made clouds in the October air. "As Ladybug it's fine, but in normal life I'm always cold."
Chat seemed satisfied with her answer.
"Wait, you have cat traits? Do you purr?" She teased.
"Oh would you look at the time! Best be off Milady." He flashed her a charming grin that definitely did not make butterflies on her stomach.
Ladybug watched his retreating figure, then zipped back home, detransforming on her balcony. She climbed inside and got Tikki a cookie. Marinette sat on her chair and swivelled around in thought.
"Hey Tikki. Do you think Chat Noir goes after warm things too?" She looked over at the Kwamii who was happily eating the sweet treat. "I asked him if he purred as a civillian and he looked so embarrassed."
"It is very likely. Most Miraculous holders show traits of their miraculous if worn long enough."
Marinette spun her chair around and grabbed her sketchbook, head full of designs. She drew several jumpers, each one cosier than the last. At some point Tikki had fallen asleep, knowing that when her chosen was focused on a design there was no stopping her.
A few days and several pricked fingers later, Marinette had finished sewing a Ladybug hoodie, complete with pocket and hand sewn spots.
Her phone buzzed with a message from him:
Can we meet up earlier tonight? I've got a surprise for you! =^x^=
Marinette texted back:
Sure
She decided now was as good a time as any to give him his gift.
"Tikki do you really think he'll like it?" She asked, clutching the hoodie to her chest.
"Chat Noir will love it." She flew over to Marinette and hovered in front of her face. "Just remember that he will probably see it as a sign Ladybug is interested in him."
"I know." Marinette felt her face heating up. "It wouldn't be a bad thing." She mumbled.
Before Tikki had time to tease her about her reaction, Marinette transformed, grabbed the hoodie, and jumped out the window.
Ladybug came to a halt on the Eiffel Tower and sat of the cool metal beams. She had to admit a hoodie would be nice on slow patrols like this. She should make herself one.
A figure leaping through the sky caught her attention and in a few seconds Chat Noir landed and sat next to her on the beam.
"Hello on this purrfect evening bugaboo." He smiled and looked down at the bundle in her lap. "May I inquire what you are carrying Milady?"
"Oh, its um- just a thing." He raised his eyebrow at her vague answer.
"A thing?"
"Didn't you know that curiosity killed the cat?"
"Maybe, but satisfaction brought it back." His green eyes glinted in the lights of Paris as he smirked at her surprise. "Anyway, I've got something for you."
Chat brought an object from behind his back and gave it apprehensively to her.
"When you said you get really cold I thought this might help." Ladybug unfolded the soft object to reveal a black hoodie with hand sewn neon green accents. "I'm not that great at sewing but I wanted to give you something useful."
Ladybug held up the jumper and a warm feeling spread throughout her body. She started laughing and looked up at her partner. Chat didn't know how to react. Ladybug was laughing at his present. He turned away and felt tears welling up at her harsh reaction.
"Ladybug, if you don't like it you could have just said." His voice was cold.
"Chat! Turn around and see what I brought for you." She held up the red bundle and waved it enticingly in the air. "Just trust me." She heard him take a deep breath and he turned around with an obviously fake smile.
"So it was for me huh?" He took the object and unravelled it to reveal a red hoodie with hand sewn black spots. "Oh. OH" He started laughing along with her in realisation.
Ladybug put on the hoodie.
"You made this?" She asked. He nodded and scratched his neck. Ladybug snuggled into the oversized sleeves. "I love it. Kitty She said quietly.
Chat Noir pulled on his hoodie and grinned at ladybug. He reached over and pulled up the hood for her.
"Its got ears and everything." He told her proudly. She tentatively felt the two triangles of fabric on her head.
"I love mine too Bugaboo."
She put her head on his shoulder as the two looked out across Paris.
Adrien had definitely found his new favourite item of clothing. Ladybug had made it specially for him and she had embroidered a small ladybug on the underside of the left sleeve.
He was inspecting it for what must have been the hundreth time in the car towards school, making sure to notice every single stitch. The way the knots were tied and the seams were felled he could tell it was hand made by an experienced sewer.
The very thought that Ladybug had spent her time making something for him gave Adrien butterflies. He pulled up the collar and inhaled the scent; bread and warmth and something that was distinctly Ladybug.
He tried to calm down the creepy cat instincts before school and ignore Plagg's snickering from inside his bag.
He proudly walked into class and sat down with Nino and Alya.
"Morning dude. Looking Sharp!" Nino fist bumped him. Alya leaned over the desk to get a better view.
"Am loving the Ladybug merch! Where did you get it?"
"A good friend made it for me." Adrien had that answer prepared. Alya waggled her eyebrows at him that promised a more thorough investigation later on.
They were in mid conversation when Marinette burst through the doorway with exactly 3 minutes until the bell went. She rushed into her seat and heaved a
sigh, obviously out of breath.
"And how long ago did you wake up?" Asked Alya. Marinette looked sheepish.
"Fifteen minutes." She panted, ducking under the table to sort out her bag.
"That is such a cute idea." Alya ruffled Marinette's head. "Cat ears on a Chat Noir hoodie."
"I can't take credit for the idea though, a good friend made it for me." Marinette sounded muffled from under the desk. She sat up and smiled at her friendship group.
She looked at Adrien in his Ladybug hoodie.
Disbelief coursed through her body as she went wide eyed. That was the hoodie she made for Chat Noir, she would recognise it anywhere. They locked eyes and Adrien looked as shocked as she felt. Marinette showed him the small embroidered paw print on the left wrist of her hoodie, and Adrien turned round and lifted his hood to reveal the embroidered ladybug hidden underneath.
She was vaguely aware of Nino talking, but nothing mattered to her as much as the boy who was most likely Chat Noir sitting in front of her.
Marinette let out a small squeak as Adrien promptly fainted. Nino managed to catch his head before it hit the seat and he shouted for Miss Bustier who was in the corner grading papers.
Marinette jumped up and started fanning him with her notebook. His eyes fluttered open after a few seconds.
"Are you okay dude?" Nino was obviously worried. Adrien looked up at his concerned friends and smiled.
"I'm fine, just got a bit dizzy I guess." He sat up, looking a bit dazed.
Miss Bustier ordered Marinette to help him to the nurses office as she tried to calm down the class that was crowding around his desk. Marinette slung Adrien's arm over her shoulder and helped him to walk down the corridors of the school.
"So, Chat Noir?" He rested his head on her shoulder.
"You're not going to let me live this down are you Bugaboo?" She tightened her grip on his waist and laughed. It sounded like music to Adrien's ears. His two favourite girls turned out to be the same person all along.
"Nope"
