CHAPTER 1: TRIPLE DATING
At Ace's Orchard, Ed, Rebecca and the crew went straight to work with collecting apples. Roger came with Snoopy, his brothers, the Beagle Scouts, Herman, Kevin, Gracie, Lex and Skip. Linus and Eudora chuckled at the sight.
"If only Charles was here. He'd ask 'why can't I have a normal dog, like everyone else'." Eudora laughed as she plucked at some apples and put them in her hat. She then passed the hat to Linus as he put the apples in the basket before handing her back the hat.
"You'll be here until Christmas of 2200." Franklin joked, grabbing a basket of apples.
"We'll all be dead by then-unless they discover the secret to immortality." Gracie shrugged.
"Agreed." Ed chimed in.
Linus sighed. "I'm envious of your powers."
Ed beamed as a bunch of apples fell into his basket. Rebecca laughed as well, amused at her boyfriend's antics. The beagles went right to work too-by collecting as many apples as they could and tossing them in baskets (that is, except Olaf. He kept eating his apples). "Gee, we've almost filled 7 baskets." Lex realized.
"How do you know?" Skip barked.
"I know these things, brother." Lex smiled.
Gracie sighed at their inflating egos. "What would I do without my brothers?"
"Beats me, sweetie." Snoopy shrugged.
"No kissing!" Herman snarled.
"Gee, Herm, get a grip of yourself." Ed suggested.
Marcie smiled as she looked over at Franklin. She blushed happily as she thought, "He's so dreamy."
Snoopy laughed as he and the beagles went back to picking apples. "Did you hear that, Grace?"
"Yeah. I say this is a very stable relationship." Gracie replied.
"Yeah." Lex smiled.
"Dude, she's literally love struck." Olaf smiled before belching loudly.
"Cool." Skip smiled.
"I hope we live to see the weddings." Andy laughed.
"Back to work!" Roger barked.
"Sorry."
"You better be."
As the day progressed, the gang was collecting more than enough apples for ten apple pies. "We should start preparing to head home." Ed said, wiping the sweat beads from his forehead.
"Yeah." Rebecca smiled.
"If Olaf can walk there, that is." Linus joked as Eudora scooped up the stuffed beagle.
"Yeah." Franklin smiled. In one of the trees was a shiny red apple that shined brighter than the others. He smiled and reached for it. He sighed happily and rubbed it on his shirt, polishing the apple until you could basically see your reflection in it.
Franklin smiled as he handed the apple to Marcie. She smiled and kissed his cheek in gratitude as he blushed.
"Come on, you two." Rebecca called out.
"Coming!" Franklin called out as the two headed towards her.
Rebecca smiled, licking her lips as she said, "That apple sure looks good."
"It is." Marcie said, nibbling on the apple.
"We can tell." Rebecca giggled before turning to Franklin. "Wouldn't it be cool if you two picked a POISONOUS apple and DIDN'T know it?"
Franklin shook his head in disbelief at the improvable idea. "That would be funny."
Marcie looked up in shock, spitting up pieces of the apple. Rebecca and Franklin took notice. "Luckily, the chances of that ever happening is one in a billion." Franklin comforted.
"Phew." Marcie sighed in relief. She smiled in worry.
"Don't worry. Those things only happen in fairy tales." Rebecca added.
"So? You were trapped in an orphanage for years. Sounds pretty similar to Rapunzel's case if you asked me." Marcie retreated wittily.
Rebecca fell silent for a few seconds before sighing in defeat. "You win."
"I do? Wow," Marcie smiled. She felt a little dizzy, but shrugged it off, "so, Frankie, you wanna go see a movie tonight?"
Franklin smiled. "Of course, babe. I'd love to."
Rebecca chuckled as they all began heading home. All the while, Rebecca was explaining her opinions with Franklin and vice versa. Ed chuckled. "You know," he began as he talked to Linus, "I thought we'd spend a whole day apple picking and not reference Snow White."
The kids, the dogs, birds and the pack chuckled at the joke as they all walked home. Franklin smiled as he dropped Marcie off at home. "See you soon, baby."
"You…you too." Marcie flirted back, despite the dizzy feeling she was having. Snoopy, Andy, Olaf, Roger, Herman, Lex, Skip and Gracie took notice.
"You guys better stay with her." Franklin explained as the beagles, crossbreeds and wolf saluted.
"Well, I guess you guys can keep me company," Marcie smiled faintly as Lex smiled widely. Snoopy instantly ran to the kitchen. The beagle could get his root beers at the French Café earlier than ever now!
She shook her head as she weakly tried to follow him to the kitchen. "I'm coming, oh brave World War I Flying Ace."
The animals giggled over Snoopy's antics, but got caught off guard by a THUMP! Oh, that THUMP made them jump. "Girl down!" Gracie barked.
"Do a taste test and see if it wakes her up, Grace." Lex suggested.
Skip scoffed as his brother went into taste test mode. "Those things NEVER work."
"Our owner is a heavier sleeper than Rebecca." Lex said.
"Pretty legit." Roger shrugged.
