Before Cassil knew it he was shotting through the atmosphere feeling the pulse of air and gravity around him. It was exhilarating. He breathed in deeply feeling a sense of soreness in his wings but content as well.
Soon they were approaching the soft clouds of heaven which only gave Cassil the desire to head back to the cloud he was created from and sleep even more. But that would not be the angel thing to do. Cassil soon found he did not like thinking of himself as an angel. Maybe Zadkiel was right. Maybe he didn't fit in with the other angels. He certainly wasn't thinking as an angel would and he was pretty sure angels didn't stop time for no reason.
Within the next few seconds, the two came to an opening within the clouds and landed on the cold tile floor with grace as they tucked their wings back into their celestial forms.
"In here," Zadkiel said motioning for him to follow her. But before he could take more than two steps she stopped him and got rather uncomfortably close to his face. "I will only you tell you this once Cassil. You are not to ask any of your dumb questions in this prudent meeting or any of your dumb little spells. Also, don't tell your little archangel prick Rapheal about this either. We don't have time for cowards or fools and if you turn out to be either we will use the hellfire to burn your precious skin off. Got it?" Her breath was close and hot against his. He could almost feel the venom of her words dripping upon his skin. But he was not scared. Well, maybe a little. He wasn't petrified was more the appropriate description.
"Okay. I promise to the Almighty I won't." He said. Anything to get her out of his face.
She snickered. "Might not want to promise that smartass."
He rolled his eyes in response and they both ducked into the opening coming into a small dimly lit area that was full of angels from higher rankings like himself. In the middle stood Lucifer. His hair truely did radiate like the pure light from outside. He had quite a handsomely built face. Cassil felt intimidated by all the faces on him.
"So Cassil is it true you stopped time?" One of the angels standing beside him blurted out and leaned into him as though to look into the depths of his soul to see if he was speaking falsehoods. But Cassil was not so easily broken.
"Of course I did. Did you not see in the garden of Eden? Even Zadkiel was there and can prove it." He motioned towards her as a smile crept along her face.
"Yes I was and my master the almighty and powerful Lucifer this angel is truly the one who can help us. The sooner we break free from this holy prison the better my Lord. Soon the power of God will be ours." She had turned to Luciefier and every word was dripping with admiration.
Almighty? But wasn't God the only Almighty there was? Lucifer was powerful but not as powerful as She is.
Lucifer turned to Cassil. "Can we trust you angel?" He spat out the last word as more of an insult rather than an adjective. Cassil nodded in a quick response. Lucifer was so full of hatred and anger he could practically feel it boiling off his skin. But who was he to question such a powerful angel of a higher ranking than even that of the archangels?
"Good," Lucifer replied with a chuckle. He then lifted up his slender tanned arms and proclaimed in a booming voice "Let us welcome a new demon brother to our group!"
The angels let out whoops and shouts and banged their feet upon the white tiles. Cassil had to admit the feeling of being recognized felt good. He finally felt like he was in the right group and had found his people.
With that Lucifer motioned to an empty standing room next to a hoard of angels although Cassil would hesitate to call it that. His shoulders were brushed against other shoulders. He found his second hatred. Being brushed like this.
"A little angel told me that Raphael will be taking his legion of angels out into the nothingness to create nebulas and stars. Those of you who are a part of this group is to watch how the Almighty forms the atoms to the stars and report back to me. These will be the key to creating the ultimate weapon in which we will destroy the Almighty, Her followers and Her humans She will create in Her image on the sixth day of creation. It will be on that day that we will lead our demonic forces against the lower angels as well as the archangels. And now since we have the Seraphim of the archangel Raphael we will be able to destroy the healing factor the angels have been using to heal their corporations as well as their celestial forms."
Cassil wished he had read those books so that he could have the slightest clue on what Lucifer was going on about as it sounded important. But best not to speculate. For he finally had found a place where he was appreciated and being given real tasks rather than just being shoved to the sidelines. He could get used to this.
