The moment Santana left, Brittany started to regret her suggestion. The separation was very recent, they had only been officially divorced for two years, and she still remembered the amount of courage and strength it took her to go through with it. Santana had been her rock for almost all of her adult life, their marriage had started out perfectly, they had had the most amazing experience when Connor was born and shared many happy moments.

That was until Brittany started to feel like a prop. Like the wife Santana thought she should have to play the family woman part. The very same person who once made her feel like the best person in the world, suddenly shifted to the trigger to all of her deep ingrained insecurities. At first, it was the little things. Getting home late from work without warning, forgetting anniversaries or even going on work trips without a single text message.

For the last two years they had been together, Brittany fought an internal battle to convince herself that their bond hadn't shifted, until she was finally faced with an inevitable breaking point that made it clear to her that, if she wanted to be happy, if she wanted Connor to be happy, they couldn't stay together.

But still, even after all of the hurt, she couldn't bring herself to hate Santana. Sure, for the first year or so, she had tried. But she couldn't, nor did she think it was fair. After all, the Latina was an amazing mother to her boy and, even with everything that had happened, a friend she knew she could count on. That thought relaxed her a little bit, and maybe they could use the time they would have to strengthen their bond. Or break it. One of the two.

"Quinn, sorry for calling you so late", the Latina shifted nervously on her couch "I need your opinion on something"

"No problem, San", Quinn let out a yawn "What's up?"

"Brittany asked me to quarantine with her and Connor in our old place"

"You're not going, are you?"

"Well, I was thinking about it, to be honest… The apartment has a spare bedroom I could stay in and work, and then neither of us would have to be away from Connor"

"I remember when you socially isolated on my couch, San", Quinn said with a slight laugh "it was right after your divorce, remember?"

"Well, it's not like you let me forget, is it? But that was different, I'm much better now, that doesn't affect me anymore"

"Then why did you call me on 2 a.m. to ask me what I think about it?"

"Jesus, Quinn", Santana got up from her couch and started pacing her large living room "so much for wanting an opinion"

"San, what I think is that you've made up your mind already, so go, stay with her. You can always leave if it gets too weird"

After a few more minutes of catching up, Santana hung up and started to really weigh her options. She could stay home and away from Connor for God knows how long or go and see if it works for them. She and Brittany had been doing a good job in staying drama free for the last few months, so why not give it a try, right?

She picks up her phone and texts Brittany telling her she'd be there in about an hour.

"Babe, are you there?", Santana walked around the house looking for Brittany.

"I'm in Connor's bedroom!", the blonde yelled back"

"I got the job! They've just called me!"

"Oh my god, San!", Brittany jumped on her neck, wrapping her in a tight hug "I knew you would get it!"

"I'm so happy, Britt! I've wanted to work in this firm forever! It's gonna be hard work, but it will be so great for our little family!"

"I know it will, honey" Brittany moved to the fridge and opened it to get a bottle of wine "I think this calls for a celebration, don't you?"

"It sure does! I'm gonna order pizza"

That night was one of the many in which Brittany felt like her life was truly perfect. She had been teaching dance in a prominent studio downtown, she loved her wife and her son and she felt like time could truly stand still.

As they laid there, talking about nothing and basking in each other's company, their son sound asleep in his bedroom, Brittany moved a little closer to Santana.

"You know what we haven't done in a while?" She asked, straddling her wife.

"Hmm?" Santana replied, a little buzzed by the wine.

Brittany leaned in to whisper in Santana's ear "Sex in the living room"

Santana let out a small laugh and gave in, placing a kiss on her wife's lips.
