It's been two years. Two whole years since Connie broke up with Steven. It was a bright Sunday morning, and the savior of the galaxy was still wallowing in despair, face down in a pillow as he thought back to the hurtful break-up.

"I'm sorry Steven but I just can't do this, I can't have you"

Steven sighed as he stood up to get ready for the day

After Steven finally took a shower and put on his classic outfit, he headed downstairs.

"STEVEN DON'T COME DOWN YET," Amethyst yelled. He heard people running back and forth continuously shushing each other, but he paid no attention towards it. The gems have been trying to cheer him up ever since the breakup but nothing has been working and he felt bad about it. He started to think about how many times he failed the gems or done something stupid, or the "monster incident." Steven shook his head

"The past is in the past Steven," he took a deep breath "You are better now and fine without Connie." He reassured himself.

"COME DOWN NOW STEVEN BUT WATCH YOUR STEP," Pearl called, Steven always wondered if she would ever become less precautions. When he reached downstairs he was amazed to see that they made him..

"Together Breakfast!" The Gems cried in happiness.

"You like it?! Cause it took forever!" Amethyst said sighing in exhaustion

"Well, not forever maybe 2 hours because someone kept on eating the popcorn and whipped cream" Pearl shaded at Amethyst.

"Hey it's not my fault that the topping just happened to be delicious!" Amethyst defended herself.

Pearl shot amethyst a death look while Amethyst folded her arms and rolled her eyes.

"Guys, guys calm down. I love it." Steven reassured the group "Now let's eat some food. I'm starving!"

With a full stomach and his house chores complete (he didn't really do anything, Pearl insisted on doing it for him) He unplugged his phone charger from the wall and grabbed his phone off of the counter. Amethyst was taking a nap on the couch and Pearl was doing garden work in the garden.

"I'm going to Little Homeworld" Steven called out to Garnet.

"Be careful out there!" Garnet called back.

Steven was confused about what she meant by that and shoved it back into the back of his mind. It was such a beautiful morning so Steven decided to walk. He looked around as he saw the never-ending ocean in front of the house and the Big Donut. As he walked past the Big Donut he looked inside and saw Dewey working at the counter serving donuts like always and many other customers

Then he saw Connie and the boy from when they went ice-skating laughing and sharing a donut. Steven's heart clenched and he felt immense pain in his heart. You're an idiot Universe, she didn't leave you for "not being able to have you" but for him. Steven was so lost in thought that he didn't realize that they were walking out the door.

*Ring*

The bell of the door opening shot Steven back into reality.

"Steven! I haven't seen you in a long time, how are you?" Connie asked cheerfully. She was wearing a light green sweater and ripped jeans with her hair down. It was longer now, about to her shoulder blades. Her arm was wrapped around her new "friend".

"Fine, how are you Connie?" Steven replied. Since when did she care about me.

"Great! Meet my new boyfriend Dave." Connie's face was beaming with happiness as she looked at him.

Steven rolled his eyes.

"Nice see you again Steven. How old are you now?" Dave stuck his hand out.

Steven looked at his hand in disgust. How much longer do I need to be here. I don't need to see Connie rubbing her better life in my face. "I'm 18." Steven responded.

Steven finally took Dave's hand and shook it but made sure to use extra power.

"Ow!" Dave whimpered in pain.

"Oh, Sorry I forgot I have a strong grip." Steven scoffed.

Connie rushed to Dave's aid as Steven walked away to Little Homeworld. Connie looked up as Steven walked away knowing that wasn't an accident and wondering what happened to her Jam Bud that was caring and nice.

So that's what Garnet meant be careful about. Connie has gotten a new boyfriend.

And I'm still hurting like a wimp

On the way to Little Homeworld Steven saw some more familiar faces like Ronaldo, PeeDee, Jenny and Kiki. Seeing all the old people reminded him of Lars and how him and his wife Pepper (who they met on an adventure with his crew) have a baby named Stella. And the Diamonds back in Homeworld making their planet a better place. Then he thought about Spinel. He didn't see her when he last visited the Diamonds last year; they said that she wanted to see more of the universe since all she's been to was The Garden and Earth. But he never heard if she came back or not. So he decided to call them.

*Ring Ring* *Ring Ring*

"Yes Starlight," White answered the phone "How are you?"

"I'm fine White, how are you and the others?" Steven questioned.

"They're fine, but Steven please make it quick, I have to get back to work soon. I have a lot of patients today." White begged.

"Okay, um has Spinel come back yet?" Steven popped the burning question that has been on his mind.

"Spinel?! I haven't seen her in ages! I guess she's still on her little trip," White answered, "Is that all Starlight?"

"Umm… Yes that all! Thanks White!" Steven retorted.

White had hung up the phone but Steven's mind was still racing. She's been gone for a WHOLE YEAR. Is she okay? Is she kidnapped? Who Kidnapped her? Or is it considered Gemnapped? Ugghh! That's not a problem if it's called gemnapped or kidnapped the main focus is that IS SHE OKAY!

Steven was creating unimaginable possibilities of what could have happened to her that he didn't notice that he had reached Little Homeworld.

"Welcome to Little Homeworld. Founded By Steven Universe and the Crystal Gems." The Greeter greeted Steven

"Yea thanks" Steven mumbled.

Steven has been walking around for awhile saying hi to the resident at Little Homeworld and making his way to where Bismuth, Lapis, and Peridot hang out. But then, Steven saw her.

Spinel.

She was getting coffee and a cookie. But she looked so different. She had let her hair down and her hair was pretty long, all the way down to her waist. The black lines going down her face? They were gone. She no longer wore her regular outfit but it was replaced by a white puff sleeve top, high waisted denim shorts, and classic sneakers. She looked completely human except for her pink colored body and upside down heart shaped gem.

"Spinel!" Steven called out

Spinel looked around and didn't find anyone. But Steven kept on screaming her name with people passing by thinking he was crazy until she saw him.

Spinel looked completely terrified.

"S-S-Steven?" She barely managed to get the words out of her mouth. Steven shook his head and ran towards her. Spinel was regretting coming back to Little Homeworld. She knew she shouldn't, but she had to see Steven one last time. She left Homeworld for a reason, and she had seen everyone else one last time without being caught and she knew that seeing Steven without being noticed is impossible but she did it anyway. Maybe she wanted him to stop her before she changed everyone's lives forever.

"Maybe," she thought "Just maybe"

Then Steven embraced her with a hug but she still looked terrified.
