Steven finally let go of her but had his hand on her shoulders. And he got a good look at her face for the first time in forever. How come I never realized how pretty she is until now. Then he saw her face expression.

"Spinel are you okay? Is something wrong?" Steven asked frantically

"No, no nothing's wrong," Spinel lied "I am just shocked to see you Steven, I haven't seen you since you left on your little trip. How come you're back home?"

"Ummm I realize how I needed to be near my loved one not so far away. I found out more about myself and I'm in college studying computer science. Also I have a tiny cottage just a little outside of Beach City. But I'm staying with the crew for a little while." Steven answered.

"Oh, that's nice," Spinel replied.

"So what have you been up to Spinel"

"I wanted to travel the universe but I realized that would take forever so I decided to see all of this wonderful Earth."

Steven finally let go of her shoulders

"Oh that's pretty cool…" Steven was running out of things to talk about. He scratched the back of his head "What's up with the new look?"

"I just wanted to try something new," Spinel was looking for an excuse to go but she could seem to find one,"Look I gotta go walk my dog. But I'll see you later."

Spinel was about to take off but then Steven stopped her. "How about I give you my address? You can stop by later tonight if you want to." Steven suggested.

Spinel understood that this was the only way to get rid of Steven, so she can fix her problems without interference. Stop by his house and never return.

"Okay sure! See you later"

It was about 9pm and Steven was at his little modern cottage waiting for Spinel to arrive. He prepared a few little snacks in case she got hungry and his house had a little romantic vibe to it.

This is not a date, this is not a date, this is not a date! BUT WHY IS IT SET UP LIKE ONE! Steven you just saw Spinel after a whole year invited to YOUR place. This is more like a hang-out not a date! You know what let's change it up! Steven was about to change it up a little but then the doorbell rang.

*Ding Dong*

Steven opened the door to see Spinel in a sunflower print tee dress, black flats, had a floral graphic drawstring crossbody bag, and apparently she had her ears pierced and she was wearing her Moon and Star drop earrings. Her hair was curled and in the half up and half down style.

"Hey Steven, thought I might drop by." Spinel said cheerfully

"Y-yo-you" Steven stammered

"Steven I can't understand what your saying"

Spinel flipped her hair onto her shoulders and gave him an innocent smile.

"I mean you look amazing, I feel so underdressed." Steven admitted. He was wearing black sweatpants, and a classic white tee with long white socks. He took Spinel's hand and led her inside. While Steven was giving Spinel a tour of his house. Spinel occasionally would look up at him. I never realized how good looking he was. Then she looked at her hand intertwined with his and blushed.

"And that's the end of the tour!" Steven exclaimed out of breath."Whatdoya think?"

"I love it. It looks very homey." Spinel replied.

"Do you want some food? I have snacks." Steven offered.

"Sure." Spinel answered.

It has been a few hours that Spinel has been over at Steven's. They were both on the couch watching old, predictable horror movies. Then Steven yawned and put his hand around Spinel. Spinel looked up at him confused. Then Steven saw what he was doing.

"Oh sorry! I didn't mean to do that on purpose."

"Ok, I was just ya know wondering since you and Connie-"

Spinel forgot that him and Connie had broken up a long time ago but by the way Steven's body stiffened up Spinel felt bad.

"Oh no, I am so so so so so so so sorry Steven I totally forgot." Spinel begged for forgiveness. If she was going to shatter herself she didn't want Steven to be mad at her before she did it.

"No it's fine" Steven sighed.

He still had the hurt expression on his face.

"I need to move on, yea know, she has a new boyfriend now and she is doing great so 'll do great too" he reassured himself.

"Yea you will! She's an idiot for leaving the great Steven Universe."

Steven laughed, "Thanks Spinel"

"Anytime Steven"

It was 3:23 am and Steven and Spinel were fast asleep on the couch. Spinel woke up and looked at Steven cutely snoring. She stood up and walked to his supply closet which had some pillows and a blanket. She walked over back to the couch, turned off the T.V, placed a pillow and blanket on Steven. I should go… but it's too late i'll just stay the night here. Not because I may like him because it is way too late. So she snuggled up close to Steven, kissed his cheek and wrapped his arms around her. Maybe I'll stay a little longer for you Universe, Maybe.

I feel like the first one was better but I hope you like this one as well! I really want to continue this story but I don't want to make a story no one reads nor enjoy. But I hop you like this story though!
