The Ten

In a time where Pantala and Phyrria have drifted together, ten dragonets are born to stop a war. But as timelines shift, a new prophecy emerges, and the ten dragonets will have to reunite the tribes, or it could be the end of them all. By the way, the timeline for this is a little strange because it is set in the past, present and future.

3. Antclaw

Sorry if this setup confuses you. I just don't really like the idea of splitting one very long chapter into parts, instead of having multiple very short chapters that are a bit easier to understand. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this!

Of course it had to happen now, of all times. Just as Bumblesting was about to sneak out with her egg, the dragonet, like the idiot it was, had decided to start hatching. Just great. Now someone would catch her for sure.

The dragonet made a chirping noise as Bumblesting moved into the light of the three full moons. A wide crack had started to form along the top of the egg, separating the shell into two. The little HiveWing dragonet poked it's snout out, and started struggling to free the rest of its body. It finally broke free, its four wings still glistening and wet, shimmering slightly in the moonlight.

Bumblesting started to panic as she heard talonsteps echo outside, nearing the door of the Nest. It opened a crack, then swung all the way open as a HiveWing flooded Bumblesting's view. She couldn't make out the features of the Dragon who had just entered, but she knew who this was. No one else on all of Pantala had that stride, that way of holding their wings that seemed both regal and menacing at the same time. It was the HiveWing Queen.

Oh no, thought Bumblesting as the Queen advanced forward, like she already knew there was a thief in here. Bumblesting quickly tucked the tiny dragonet behind a pillar, where only the lowest born HiveWings were kept. The Queen wouldn't go looking in there for Bumblesting's egg.

"I know you're in here!" boomed the Queen. Bumblesting stepped forward, out of hiding. At least her egg would be safe if the Queen punished her. As she was dragged away, she saw her dragonet's face for the first time. On his forehead, he bore the silver scale that represented the prophecy. Bumblesting had done it. She had saved her dragonet, and at the same time, one of The Ten.

I hope you enjoy this fan fiction. I've been planning it for months and I only decided to put it on here to see if it's any good.

Replies to reviews: yes, I know. The chapters are a bit short at the moment, but they'll get longer as I go along. I just need to explain and introduce the characters first.
