Aziraphale clung to his flaming sword a little closer now as he saw the line of demons on the other side of the windows. They hadn't attacked yet. They were just standing there.

In the room with him was Sandalphon and the archangel Gabriel. They thought that if they spread the archangels out than it would be easier to use the Heavenly fire against them. Aziraphale was just extremely grateful to God that he was not near the demons at the frontlines with Azrael and Micheal.

Meanwhile, on the front line, there were two angels. The angel of war and the angel of death. A fitting combination. No wonder they were so madly in love with one another. They were also holding hands and if the situation called for it they might have even shared a final kiss. But now was not a time for romantical fluff. Now was a time for action.

Azreal gave Micheal's hand one last squeeze.

"Please be careful my dear," Micheal whispered attempting to control the shaking in her voice. "They killed the archangel Raphael and they will not hesitate to kill you as well."

"I will. I promise." Azreal leaned into Micheal closer until their foreheads were almost touching. "The Almighty told me that when all this is over I will help carry the souls of the Earth to their final resting place as punishment for betraying heaven."

Micheal had tears in her eyes. This was only the second time Azreal had seen her cry.

"These monsters don't deserve a second chance. After what they did to Raphael-I can't even imagine-after what they did to you...I don't understand why the Almighty wants us to-"

"I know. But we have to trust Her. She knows the outcome and we need to listen to her. I will be fine. You will be fine. I will make sure of it. I won't let them lay a finger on you. Besides, who are we kidding anyway? You are one heck of a fighter and will smite half of them before they even lay a foot on these holy clouds. But we have to give them all the chances before their final fates are sealed for good. It is what Rapheal would have wanted."

"Yeah he would have." Micheal smiled sadly and Azrael gave a half hearted smile back.

Azreal released Micheal's hand and they both silently prayed to the Almighty for them both to be safe for they could not live without each other.

Satan scoffed as Azreal stood before them. "I would say I am suprised to see you were the mole this entire time but that would be lying. Although I am like the god of death and destruction now so I suppose that would be fitting. But I must ask how you were able to cut your own hand off knowing what it would cost you."

Azreal didn't blink and brushed her raven black hair behind her. "I did it in the name of love Satan. You thinl you can own the world and the universe. But only fools think that. And that is what you are. Nothing but a fool and a joke. You really truely believed you could take on the Almighty God. You are sadly mistaken. You really think that God the creator of this world is going to let a puny pathetic fool like you take over heaven and lay waste to her creation?"

Satan laughed and with that replied "No you are a fool for in the end darkness always overtakes the light." The demons behind him clapped their hands together and cheered.

All except for on demon in particular. Crawly wasn't sure whether he should clap for the angel or Satan. He saw the interaction between her and Micheal. Strange would be putting it mildly. What was even stranger was how she had cut off her hand for heaven. Creepy even. She helped create Hellfire knowing it would destroy the angels. Suddenly he realized he was being dragged by his hair by Beezlebub. They left the line of demons and were standing in a room in heaven. He looked in front of him and his breath caught in his throat when he saw the archangel Sealtiel and his legion of angels all with their backs turned.

Beelzebub made quick work of them. Executing them left and right. Their screams of agony filled the walls and blood filled the room. What made it even worse was Sealtiel had stopped in front of them once he sensed a demonic presence in the room with them and had attempted to smite Beelzebub and begged her not to hurt the angels with him. Only take him but his cries went unheeded. Crawly had to look away for he felt he might pass out at the sight of the entire legion of Sealtiel and Sealtiel on the floor in piles of goo and blood.

Beelzebub proceeded to stomp on the remains spreading the blood and guts all over the room. All over the walls and even on the ceiling. She then forced Crawly's face into one of the clumps and he felt the familiar sense of unease and terror.

Azreal was right when she said half the demons would be smitten. Micheal had summoned Heavenly fire as the demons approached and half-burned and feel into the firey pit that no angel could see from where they were standing.

But the others kept coming. They were smitten left and right. Azreal also had her fair share of fun by flicking up a wave of fire towards a dozen demons as they came towards her.

Meanwhile, Aziraphale jumped as the tower where Jegudiel was burnt down by Hellfire. All the angels though were taken out of the building beforehand and had a protective miracle around them. She had used up the last of her heavenly powers to save them over herself. She died a death of pain and agonization.

Sealtiel had done the same. He had internalized Raphael's words and had hidden his legion away beneath the building and placed a protective miracle on them. It took some practice to replicate himself and disguise himself as so many angels at one time. He felt the pain of death hundreds of times that day but it was all worth it to know and feel his angels were safe below Heaven.

Barachiel was next as he spread his wings and forced all the heavenly fire he could muster out of his body to protect the angels behind him. He missed one and she sliced into him with the hellfire causing him to shriek in pain as his blood and cuts flew all over the delicate clouds lining their sleek white surfaces with dark red of a fine wine.

Luckily the angels he had been guarding returned the favor and smitted the demon girl to hell.

Aziraphale watched one of the demons brutely cut into Jerahmeel into pieces before finally bringing her into the arms of death.

Uriel was next and for Aziraphale he was not about to let that happen. He spread his wings and broke through the window causing his skin to be prickled by glass shards and blood to fall behind him like tears of rain.

He landed between Uriel and the slice demon. The demon took a swipe at him and Aziraphale ducked out of the way before piercing them demon in the stomach. The demon's eyes turned into a one of a lizard's before he fell below the clouds into the firey pit.

Uriel scoled at Aziraphale and screamed "Why aren't you with the archangel Gabriel?"

"I couldn't just let you die!"

He ducked down as an angel flew past them carring their flaming sword and screaming towards the demons as they attempted to murder a group of angels cuddled together.

Aziraphale went to help smitting the demons left and right.

Crawly and Beelzbub opened their wings from their celestial forms and flew down. They were the last two left.

Crawly felt the blood of multiple angels on his feet where he stood and instantly felt sick.

Beelzebeb screamed out various curses. Did he know what they were exactly? Not in the slightest. He tuned that part out. All he could see was the wake of destruction the demons had left in their path as the whole place was on fire. Blood was everywhere. He may not remeber that but he will never forget what came next.

Beelzebub attempted to kill Uriel but Uriel lifitied a flmaing sword of heavenly fire and pierced her through her stomach. She screamed in agony before falling beneath the clouds.

She then approach Crawly and without hesitation and in cold blood she pierced through Crawly's stomach. The fire burned deeply and he felt stining in his eyes as though two daggers had pierced them.

She pushed the sword out and he felt the world fall. No he was falling. The clouds went past him. He tried to open his wings but they were turning a charlced black. He continued to fall and felt all of the Almighty's powers ripped from him in an instant. He had never experience the deep emotional pain he felt now. He then felt the boiling pool of sulfer around him. It boiled his skin and pierced his soul. He then found himself landing on a concrete floor with a thud. He was in every kind of physical pain imaginable and wanted to kill himself more than ever before. He just wanted the pain to end.

He looked up and saw the stars and imagined running to them and feeling their warmth one last time.

"Get up! Satan wants a word with you!" He felt a hand that was as rough as the voice and was pulled to his feet as the last of the stars were closed off to him as the Hellfire seized them within the confines of Hell.

Meanwhile, in heaven, Micheal looked around and saw angels weeping. She saw all the pain and destruction and wanted to make it cease. She wanted to forget the awful things she had witnessed. But when she saw the beautiful complexion of Azreal all thoughts of pain flew behind her.

She ran to her and wrapped her in her arms just so glad she was okay. Azreal returned the favor and the two stayed like that for some time. Breathing in each other's scents and essence and so overwhelmingly overjoyed the other was okay. They did not care who saw them.

Aziraphale had stopped the bleeding of an angel who had gotten his arm burned off by the Hellfire. He could not make the hand reappear and whispered as he held the crying Virtue "Oh my dear I am sorry...I am so so sorry..."

Gabriel and Sandphalon walked up with demon blood dotting both their robes as they had defended their legion against a horde of demons. The demon blood had spilled on them as they smote them.

Uriel also walked up but not before shoving a Power angel to the ground.

Micheal saw them approaching and gave Azreal one last tight squeeze before letting her go. She nodded and backed up to stand with Micheal's legion.

Gabriel scoffed as he said "Where are all the other archangels? We just had a war and they are late as usual."

"We are the only ones left," Micheal said quietly as tears began to fall from her eyes onto the clouds. "At least all the demons are out of heaven."

Uriel boiled with rage and lite her sword back on fire and began to walk towards Azreal.

Gabriel ran up to her and stopped her before she had a chance to raise her sword and pulled it from her grasp.

"No Uriel. Stop." Gabriel mumbled.

She broke free of his grasp and continued to run towards Azreal and attempted to punch her. Gabriel stopped her and pulled her to the ground and pinned her there.

"Stop it now! That won't help anything and it won't bring the other archangels back!" He said angerly.

"It's not fair! It's not fair! She deserves worse than damnation! They all do! All those demonic freaks! They killed them Gabriel! They killed them like they were nothing! And we showed them mercy! Fucking mercy! God! Are you listening! How did you allow this to happen!" She continued to scream until she had no more breathe. After that her head limped as she wept bitter tears and felt the worse she had ever felt for her fallen brothers and sisters as she mumbled "It's not fair...it's not fair..."

"I know." whispered Gabriel. "I know." He felt the overwhelming sadness as well and couldn't keep it in.

He got to his feet and released Uriel who feel into a heaping mess of weeping and mourning.

He spread his wings and flew to the building where he fought off the demons. Once there and safe he placed his palms up to his eyes and wept bitterly.

In fact all the angels wept bitter tears that day. There was not a single dry tear in heaven not even from the Almighty. But the story was far from being over. It was just begining.
