The room Dagon had dragged him into was bleak save for the single lightbulb hanging by a thin cord as it swung back and forth.

Satan's eyes were aflame with rage and he was in his true form. The fall caused him to have red skin and nails like tiger claws. His head was circled by a crown of horns and his eyes were pitch black. Crawly was entirely and fully afraid of the monster he was before and serving and he never would not be. The first hour of the fall he tortured a demon to death for simply questioning his intentions only for the receive another corporation and go through it again and again.

Crawly had snake eyes now and had almost burst into tears when he saw them in a reflection on the cracked mirrors on the tunnels were the demons roamed back and forth like aimless souls brushing against him. He looked terrifying and like a monster. Perhaps he was.

Beelzebub was also in the room standing on the right-hand side of Satan with a proud smile of adoration on her face turned and directed at Satan. She had been adorned with various ribbons for all the destruction she caused. She truly was a Lord and prince of Hell. Her face now was sprinkled with various puss-filled blemishes and flies buzzed around her face. Upon her messy black hair sat an enormous fly that darted it's large red eyes back and forth as though to look for threats and protect its master.

He also saw one of the dukes of hell who had black eyes with no emotion. His head had a frog on top of it and his blonde hair was interrupted with scales to match the frog upon his head. He was called Hastur from what Crawly had overheard in the crowded and leaking tunnels of Hell.

Beside him stood his servant Ligur. He had an orange chameleon upon his head and its tail followed down his spine. His eyes matched the eyes of the chameleon and he wore no emotions. It was almost unnerving.

"I can not believe we were betrayed. How could you all have let this have happened!" The demons jumped as Satan slammed his meaty fists on the table before him. "Everything was so perfect! The universe was about to be mine! We could have had all the power in the world if that stupid angel Azreal had not betrayed us! After everything, we did for her! The next time any of you cross her path you are to bring her to me so she may be tortured for the next several thousand years!"

Crawly had no doubt Satan was cable of that level of evil and hatred. He could only shiver to even try and picture what sort of devilish feints Satan had planned for her.

"We will destroy and torture those foolish bastard angels! We must! They are our hereditary enemies! We shall use Hellfire until they beg for mercy and only then will let up and torture some more!" Beelzebub sneered. "Those wank wings won't know what hit them!"

"The pathetic will of the Almighty my ass!" Came Dagon from behind where she holding Crawly in place. "She just goes around and makes all this pathetic and disgusting life! What has She got up there on Earth now? That's right! Humans! Disgustingly good and pathetic just like the fucking angels!"

Now Crawly was not too pleased with the angels himself considering how Uriel had zero problem with sticking a flaming sword through his abdomen causing him to fall fast and turn his wings into this charkle dark color. Also, he would be considered a freak with these stupid snake eyes. But then it shouldn't have mattered to him because he was a demon and demons were supposed to look scary and terrifying and weren't supposed to feel or accept love so what did it matter what anyone else thought of his appearance. And besides, it wasn't like the other demons could judge him as they were just as bad off facewise as he was.

But as mentioned before the universe loves boxes. We love putting things into nice and neat categories and when those things don't fit it gets aggravating. You would be forgiven for thinking every demon loved to torture angels and humans alike but you would be sadly mistaken for there was a demon who was not like the others. One of these demons was different for the rest. I think we all know who that particular demon is.

"I think we out to do something about these humans. Did you hear that the Almighty let that awful male thing name all the animals and then used his rib to make a female companion for him? They don't even have any powers as we do! " Hastur chimed in interrupting Crawly's existinal thoughts about he was a failure at everything. "They are up there in a garden paradise. We can't hurt the Almighty physically of course. The angels were protecting Her and She had Metatron on Her side and plus She is more powerful than all of us combined. But there is another way."

Satan raised his eyebrow at this and said intriguided "Go on..."

"I was thinking what if we gave these humans some kind of weapon just to see what they would do with it. Ruffle um up a bit and see where the wind takes them."

"Yeah, but where in Hell are we going to find a weapon a weak human without any powers would be able to hold without burning to a fucking crisp." Dagon retorted.

"Knowledge." Crawly had not realized he had said that out loud until Satan and the demons turned to him.

"What did you say?" Hastur snarled.

"Speak up Crawly! No one can hear you when you fucking mumble!" Beelzebub chastized him.

Shit. What was going on? He didn't want to help them and he certainly didn't want to be beaten with a cane and thrown in the darkest pit of Hell for being thought of blastfleming Satan under his breath. He weighed his options and choose the later.

"When I was the Seraphim to the archangel Raphael Gabriel told us about the Tree of the Knowledge of Good And Evil. In Eden, there is no concept of evil yet or anywhere on Earth. Earth was designed in a way so that when humans did evil things the earth would punish them for it. Whether it be by their own hands or by the laws of nature on Earth and in the Universe. The Universe is set to correct itself when something goes wrong to discourage evil actions. That is why we were not able to overtake heaven. But if humans eat from this tree they will have the knowledge and be able to do whatever they choose with it. But with this knowledge, it will cause the universe to be thrown off balance."

Satan appeared to like this idea as he perched up and said "Yes Crawly. That is a stroke of demonic genius darling!"

Beelzebub was clearly jealous of the attention this prompted from Satan away from her and brought up "Yeah but how are we going to get the humans to eat the fruit? We can't exactly go up there in these forms. The angels and the Almighty would have told them to stay away from and not listen to us."

Dagon forced Crawly on his knees. "Looks like it is the molten Hellfire for four years for you for suggesting such dumb things that could get us all killed!"

Crawly felt his heart pounding through his ears and fear boiling around him.

"Yeah take him away! Always talking out of his ass as usual! I have had enough of him!" Satan flicked his wrist as Dagon began to drag him away.

He had to think of something and something fast. The animals. God let Adam name the animals and they would trust an animal.

"Wait! Stop! I have an idea!"

Satan motioned for Dagon to bring Crawly back and she did but not before pulling his ear to her mouth and snarled "Think good and hard about this Crawly! Unless you want eight years I suggest you not ask any of your fucking ridiculous questions or say one of your dumb stunts!"

"What if we weren't using this form? What if we took the form of an animal? The humans trust animals as those are the only things they have been around! We could send a demon up there in the form of an animal and have the animal tempt the humans!"

Satan put his two index fingers to his chin and hummed deep in thought. "But what animal would we use?"

"Something that lives in a tree. That way we won't look suspicious to any angels who might be guarding the Eden walls. " Crawly replied trying every muscle to not show his fear reflect on his face.

"Ah! Something that lives in a tree! So some kind of fish then!" Hastur said.

"My Lord I do not wish to patronize you but I believe that fish do not live in trees..." Ligur whispered to him causing the confidence to be whipped from Hastur's face.

"Well, what kind of animal would you suggest Crawly?" Dagon hissed down to him.

"A snake. Snakes live in trees and would be able to slither around one of the apples to make it more appealing..." Crawly said quietly.

"For Satan's sake enough with your stupid mumbling you fucking bastard!" Beelzebub began before Satan held up a hand to cut her off.

"This might work but what there are angels in the garden?"

"Summon Hellfire and kill them!" Hastur hissed violently and banged his fists together as though he was beating an angel.

Satan nodded and turned to Crawly.

"Right this may work and if it doesn't than the demon will be killed by Holy Water or Heavenly Fire. We really have nothing to lose if we fail and everything to gain. Since you suggested it you can do it Crawly."

"Me...um I can't turn into a snake..." Crawly said confused.

"How dare you question Satan's wisdom!" Beelzebub geared towards him.

"Oh, you of little faith! When I put the symbol of the snake on you you will be able to transfigure into a snake whenever you wish." Satan snarled.

Crawly thought about it for a moment. This might not have been too bad after all. He was getting out of his Hellfire sentence, would have an extra power to help him get around the tunnels easier and would get to leave this horrible place even if it was only for a short time. Perhaps he could even find a way to escape to the stars while he was upon the Earth's surface.

"Right! Dagon put him on the table!" Satan said and Crawly regretted everything when he saw Satan pull out a fire poker from Beelzebub with a snake symbol carved into the end and watched the devil light it up with his finger. He knew not to resist though and kept perfectly still as Dagon violently pulled his long curly hair away from his face and Satan pierced him with the poker just his left ear. Everything hurt but Crawly kept it all in like he always did. This much pain was worth it for one little step of freedom.
