This is the LeafWing from the prophecy. Hope you like him, and enjoy!
Everyone in the whole LeafWing tribe loved and respected Thornleaf, even though he was only two. See, he had some of the most powerful leafspeak that had ever been recorded. Sometimes, dragons would walk in and find him chatting away with no one in particular, but they all knew that he was actually talking to the forest.
When Thornleaf was only a few days old, the LeafWing Queen had found him, hidden in a tiny cave around the back of Wasp Hive. The little dragonet had been starving, clearly abandoned, so the Queen had taken him in, and made him a Prince, even though she knew that he might be one of the lowest-born LeafWing, because those eggs were the only ones that were left for the HiveWings.
The Queen had discovered his leafspeak when he had first learned to talk, because he had constantly used leafspeak instead of Dragon words. The Queen was scared, though, because she also knew that everyone would treat him differently because he was so powerful, and that wasn't something that she wanted for her adopted dragonet.
But Thornleaf didn't mind. He actually liked being special. Everyone always bowed whenever he entered a room, and no one would ever say anything about his strange silver marking on his forehead. Now that was weird. That was what Thornleaf was actually self-concious of. Luckily, being a Prince helped with that. It was almost completely outlawed to say anything about Thornleaf's mark.
The Queen adored Thornleaf obsessively, stopping at nothing to please her adopted son. She had even hand-picked the dragonets who could talk to him, most of which also had leafspeak. Except for one. Hollywind. She was the most beautiful LeafWing on all of Pantala, her bottle-green scales dappled with lighter freckles, and huge splotches of gold and brown, fading perfectly into one another. Thornleaf had a massive crush on her. Almost every dragonet did.
Thornleaf treaded lightly through the leafy doorway to his treehouse room. He had hundreds of little sketches of Hollywind, stuck to almost every surface that was in the massive room. As Thornleaf padded closer to his bed, he noticed a slight rapping of knuckles on the wooden door. He turned around and opened it, and there she was, in all her glory, scales sparkling in the afternoon sunshine. "Hi, Thornleaf!" she greeted him, happily. Thornleaf could feel his claws starting to tremble and his ears starting to grow hotter and hotter, burning with embarrassment. "H-hello." he replied shakily. Hollywind swished her speckled tail and curled herself into a sitting position, her tail tucked neatly over her back talons.
The suspense grew and grew, as the silence stretched longer and longer. And then, Hollywind said something that Thornleaf would have never expected to hear from her. "Come fly with me. Just the two of us. We can watch the sunset." "Sure." he almost whispered, so excited that he lost his voice. He was finally going to be alone with Hollywind! Him of all dragons!!
By the way, Thornleaf and Hollywind are gonna be a thing, but that could potentially be wrecked, depending on how I decide to word the last few chapters. Hope everyone stays healthy and safe!
