Aziraphale was definitely a sucker for kids. It was the third year of plenty and he just absolutely adored the children of Egypt. He loved playing with them, teaching them different harmonies and teaching them how to read and write and occasionally would miracle for them.
But he did was a big no-no in heaven. He healed a crippled girl and made her be able to walk. How could he not though? She was sweet and caring and was always trying to lend a helping hand wherever and whenever she was needed with storing food for the upcoming Famine.
Needless to say, the archangels were not pleased with this at all in his next monthly report.
"Aziraphale we discussed this. We don't heal unless we are told to by a Higher Authority."
"Yes, Archangel Gabriel sir."
"No, I want to hear you say those words out loud. Right now."
"We don't heal unless we are told to by a Higher Authority."
"Alright well, that settles it I guess."
Sadalphon nodded beside him. "Yes yes certainly. All settled."
Uriel gave Gabriel a face of disapproval as did Micheal. But what Gabriel said went Aziraphale thought.
Gabriel and Sandalphon turned to leave before Sandalphon turned to remind Aziraphale that he had to submit a paper copy as his report since the line of Abraham was coming to a close and the children of Isreal's line would be starting. He nodded and immediately went down to do this.
However, as he was walking down the stairs he felt two angels following him and was surprised to look up and see Micheal and Uriel behind him. Before he could say anything Uriel shoved him beneath the stairs on a wall and Micheal stood and watched the entire thing shaking her head.
"Cut the crap Aziraphale!" Micheal said angrily. "We know you visited hell and we know that you are working with demons!"
Aziraphale felt his heart sink and he wanted to discorporate. He had to think of something fast.
"I didn't go to Hell and working with demons! I do say! Why ever would you accuse me of such crimes against heaven?"
"I told you, Micheal. Aziraphale is weak and pathetic. He wouldn't be able to lie to us because we would have known about it. And working with demons. Nonsense. It seems like you need to stop talking to the angel of death. She seems to be making you paranoid." Uriel turned to Micheal with this.
"He smelled like Hellfire that one time though," Micheal said looking unsure of herself for a brief second then maintaining composure.
"Oh shut it, Micheal! It's Azreal! I am telling you she is messing with your head! No demon would interact with angel and Aziraphale is too much of a crowd pleasure to ever think of breaking the rules that much!" Uriel groaned rolling her eyes. She turned back to Aziraphale her eyes full of absolute anger.
"There is however still a matter needing to be addressed regarding your frivolous miracles lately."
"Oh well really. What is that archangel Uriel maam?"
"This." She said before punching him square in the face and breaking his jaw. He fell over and she stomped on his nose.
Crawly was getting concerned. It had been almost two days since he had last seen Aziraphale. Well, he wasn't concerned. Demons don't get concerned and certainly not about angels. What a ridiculous notion! He only wanted Aziraphale around to annoy him so more.
He stood in the mill house where they usually met up to go try some Egyptian alcohol and Aziraphale would attempt to get Crawly to eat but never to any avail. Crawly found watching Aziraphale eat far more fascinating than enjoying the experience himself.
He sighed and walked out and there was a man who immediately bolted when he saw Crawly. He rolled his eyes and walked on use to the human attention by now. He then heard something and the bushes and felt the presence of an angel nearby.
He immediately ducked behind a tree near him and prepared for the worst and then saw Aziraphale holding his jaw. His jaw slackened and looked like it had been malset and his nose was broken. He huffed and proceeded to snap his fingers to miricle himself whole again.
Crawly didn't give himself away and just assumed Aziraphale did some good deed that pissed off some human. He didn't see Aziraphale for a long time after that.
