Hey guys, I'm so so so so sorry. I haven't been able to update due to family and school complications. My parents are separated and my mother is going to file for a divorce. School is almost over, so now there is a shit ton of homework and studying for exams, though I don't put too much effort into either of those. i haven't had any muse with all the hell ensuing around me, so please forgive me. I'm going to try my best to make it up to all of you, so I'm going to quickly write up a kinda long chapter and post it. Today. I'll try at least. Wish me luck. ^^|l|

Although she was forgiven for the thing she couldn't help, and she was allowed to be free, she decided to keep her name as Adaline. She liked that name much better than Katherine, and also she no longer wanted any of the other spirits to recognize her as the boogeyman's daughter. She was her own person, and nothing could change that.

The wind felt warm as she flew above the waters of the Caribbean. This was one of her favorite places to go, since it was warm under the sun but also cold above the waters. It was the perfect temperature.

She grinned and flew up higher, shouting in glee. "WOOHOOO!" She floated up above the clouds, the wind happily carrying her. It was times like this she was truly thankful that she was an elemental.

And then, like it seems to become a habit lately, her fun was cut short. The Aurora Borealis was activated. North was calling all of the Guardians to the North Pole. Well, fluff. Being at the Caribbean Sea, it would take her a few hours to get to the North fluffin' Pole. She sighed, already flying north.

And of course, as it would usually go, Pitch appeared to once again attempt to hinder her. She rolled her eyes, standing straight up in the air and facing him. "What the hell do you want now? I have places to be and much more important things to do than to deal with you." She growls, lightly glaring at him. He chuckles oddly.

"Oh, daughter dearest, won't you make some time for your loving father?" He asks in a mocking tone. Her small glare then turned to one of pure hatred.

"How many times do I have to tell you? You stopped being my father the day you let the fear take over! The day you betrayed mama and I is the day we no longer knew you!" She yells, sending a blast of Poisurn at him. Her eyes widened. This had never happened before. Pitch actually blocked her attack!

"Shocked, are you? I thought you would be.. you haven't seen me in a while, there's a reason for that. See, I've been perfecting my defenses against your attacks. Now most of your attacks don't affect me." She bit the inside of her cheek, glaring at his smirking face. Damn. She thought. This would be hard. Which attacks could he dodge? She would just have to find out. Picking up her speed, she attacked him in all different directions. Poisurn doesn't work, she already knew that. Hell fire? She tried it. Doesn't work. Dark light. She tried. Nope. She moved on to the light elements. Water. Tried. Nope. Earth. No. Fire. No. Air. No. Shadows? No. Of course that wouldn't work. Now to try the combinations of the elements, light and dark. Ice. Tried. No. Lava. No. Black fire. No. Holy Poisurn. No. Tainted Fire. No. She tried dozens of the combined elements, none of them worked. There were only two left for her to try, she hoped to MiM that they would work.

It was definitely worth the try. Black Fire. Yes! The hit was very effective! (Reference to Pokemon.) She mentally cheered while Pitch sunk to his knees, in mid air. That hit was evidently much more effective than she had expected, because he was obviously in a lot of pain. While he was down, she went for another attack behind him. "It's time to end this." She said darkly, blasting a beam of Burning Light at him. It engulfed him entirely, and he was in too much pain to fight back. He had to retreat again, as much as he didn't like it. She started flying north again, hoping the other Guardians wouldn't be too mad that she would be late. She was sure they would understand if she explained. She had to beat the crap out of her father. Again. And she did so successfully, otherwise if she hadn't she wouldn't be flying towards the North Pole now.

But... apparently Pitch wasn't as weak as she had thought. He was still strong enough to sneak up behind her and take her captive. Well, this would be tough. Unbeknownst to her, the shadows he used to tie her up would drain her power. She found that out the hard way. She tried to burn the shadows, and it ended up sucking up all the energy from the attack and then some. It immediately exhausted her. She tried her best to stay awake, seeing that Pitch was taking her to his lair. She needed to see how to get there, so that she could tell the Guardians when and if she found a way to communicate with them.

Pitch landed on the ground in a forest somewhere, his shadows doing the favor of carrying her for him. Adaline regretfully closed her eyes.

Unable to stay awake any longer, she passed out.

She just hoped that the Guardians wouldn't start to doubt her again.

On the other hand, the Guardians were rather worried. They were all already at the North Pole, and were only waiting on Adaline. Jack was pacing back and forth, Tooth was flitting about nervously, Sandy was asleep, but with a rather concerned look on his face, Bunny was worriedly thumping his foot on the ground, trying to keep a brave face, and North was concerned and deep in thought.

Jack was the first to break. "She should have been here by now! She's the fastest flier in the world, she could have gotten here in an hour. It's been four. We have to go look for her!" He runs his hands through his hair, looking down. Thoughts shot through his head, screaming at him to go look for her. Pitch kidnapped her. She's been hurt, killed even. Something is happening, he doesn't know what, but he knows they have to go look for her.

Sandy woke up at Jack's frantic shouting. Tooth was still fluttering about, mumbling little fears to herself. North sighed, shaking his head. "We know, Jack, we know. We are all worried for Adaline, but we can't just panic so soon. If the panicking gets too much then our thoughts would be clouded."

Jack grips his staff tightly, wanting to just fly off and look for Adaline. He was so tempted to, he just wanted to make sure she was safe. He knew she had to be in some kind of trouble, otherwise she would have already been to the meeting with the rest of them. Bunny placed his paw on Jack's shoulder. "I know you're worried, mate, but you can't just go flying off recklessly. We need a plan, so we're prepared for anything. Understand?" Bunny asked. Jack shook his head.

"No, I don't understand! Adaline should have been here by now! She could be dying right now, we don't have time to make a plan!" He shouts angrily. The remaining four Guardians watch as he jumps up and flies out the nearest open window. Sandy stood, hopping onto his sand cloud. The sand above him weaving his thoughts into words and symbols. "I agree with Jack. We don't have time to make a plan, I'm going to go look for her." And thus, he floated out of the window Jack had just flown out of moments before. Tooth looked at the two Guardians who couldn't fly, silently following after the other two who could.

Bunny and North looked at each other, shaking their heads. "I don't we could form a good plan with just the two of us.." North said plainly. Bunny nodded in agreement.

"I guess we have no choice but to go look for Adaline... since the rest of our comrades went to find her." Bunny said, sighing. He then shuddered. "And don't you think for a moment that I'm riding after them in your sleigh! I'm going in my tunnels." He thumps the ground with his foot twice, hopping into the hole that appeared in the ground. North rushed to his sleigh, mumbling something about bunnies being so jumpy.

And thus, the impromptu rescue mission began.
