Another quick chap. I'm hoping to finish this story soon, I have about six others I want to start on and at least five others I'm still working on. So, yeah. I'll try to update more in the summer, though it may be a bit hectic with my parents getting divorced and such. So here we go.
Flying high in the sky, Jack looked around frantically. He had no idea where she would be, but he hoped she could hear him call for her in the wind. She had always told him she can hear him when he uses the wind, he had hoped this time was no exception. He called her name, countless times, hoping, praying for a response of some kind. He imagined finding her sitting in a tree, laughing at him, telling him that she was fine and his panicking was for nothing. But that didn't happen.
Then he starting thinking of all the bad things that could be happening to her right now. She could be dying, or even worse, already dead. He tries thinking positive, but to no avail. He can't help but thinking the worst, since this was the first time since being a spirit that he cared for someone so much. And he knew that Pitch hated him and would do anything to get revenge.
He obviously didn't think anything good was happening to her now. Why would anything good be happening? It just wasn't possible. Not possible at all. If Pitch had her, something bad was happening. He just hoped she was alive and okay. Until he found her, he could only hope.
He kept searching. And searching and searching and searching. He had searched the whole northern hemisphere before he started looking in the southern hemisphere. He would have to put up with the heat until he found her. He started thinking, trying to narrow down his search so he could find her faster. Pitch's lair wouldn't be out in the open, he liked to hide in shadows. Places with a lot of shadows and places for him to hide... Caves. Forests. Underground. Shoot. He mentally cursed. He hoped Bunny would have the brains to search underground, since he had a huge network of tunnels under the surface of the whole earth. Jack would work on forests first, since he thought that would be a lot simpler. Once he got to searching the forests he found that he was dead wrong.
It was a lot harder than he thought. Well, he shouldn't be hesitating to look for her... then why is he? He mentally scolded himself. But he knew why he was hesitating. If she was dead...
He wouldn't be able to stand it. He wouldn't be able to bear the thought. He sighed, finally deciding he had to look for her, even if she... yeah. He wasn't going to say it, he won't even think it. That would only make it come true. He floated around the tropic forests of South America, and for hours he could find nothing.
That was, until he heard something. It wasn't very loud, but it was there. It was flying to his ears by the wind... That's right! She could use the wind! She had been hearing him this whole time! He felt happy, getting just the smallest signal that she was alive. Being so elated, he almost didn't catch what the wind was telling him.
'Help... underground... rain forest...you're so close...' He listened hard, hearing the soft words of the wind.
He could find her. He could finally find her. After hours and hours of searching...
He knew where she was.
"You'll never escape from here! Your powers are drained, you won't be able to call for help!" Pitch sneered in her face. She would have punched him, but her wrists were bound in cuffs. The chains made of black sand held her to the floor, along with the identical chains and cuffs on her ankles and neck.
She glared him. "They know I'm missing. Little did you seem to know.." She coughed. "They called a meeting just as we were fighting. It's been hours... there's no doubt they've noticed my absence." She spat in his face and he flinched back. "They'll come for me." She tried standing, but couldn't because of how short the chains were. She fell back down, her knees getting small scrapes from the gritty floor.
Pitch growled, disgusted. He wiped the spit off of his face with his fingers, wiping it off on the floor. He stood tall, taunting her with his ability to stand straight without chains hindering him. She growled lowly like a hound. "What's your point in kidnapping me anyway? I wouldn't be much use to you, especially not since I hate your guts." She remarks, glaring at him. He chuckles, obviously having something up his sleeve. She narrowed his eyes. "What are you planning?"
"Oh, you'd love to know wouldn't you? Well... I'll tell you, since you won't live anyway." He smirks and her eyes widen. "Yes, that's right my dear daughter, I'm going to kill you. Do you know why? Because that frost boy is in love with you. You're so important to him, he would be devastated if he lost you. Which will be my revenge." He cackles and she flinches, very very worried. She wanted to be found before... but now she had to make sure Jack stayed away. Pitch would definitely make Jack witness my death, that would be the worst. If he stayed away she at least had a little bit of a better chance of survival. If he showed up, she would be killed for sure. She would have to use the small amount of energy she could bear with these chains and use the wind to tell Jack he must stay away.
Pitch must have caught on to what she was thinking, because the sand drained her energy before she could use it. Her limbs went limp. She glared at him. "You... bastard..." She said weakly, then once again fell unconscious. He shook his head and grabbed the hair on the top of her head to life her face.
"Now now.. That's no way to speak to your father." He throws her head back so it hits the wall behind her, hard. He walks out of the room.
"Now Jack.. It's time for my revenge."
