Andromeda/Ted

'cottage'

They were stood together on the outskirts of London, newly married and hiding from her parents. They knew that Andromedas family would not be happy with her decision to marry Ted, he was a Muggleborn and she was a Pureblood from a family that strongly believed in blood purity and despised Muggleborns and anyone that was not full blooded. It had been dangerous from the start, but they didn't care because they were in love.

The pair had saved up all the money possible in their last year at Hogwarts for this moment, and Andromeda had taken as much as she dared from the family vault before she could be disowned, something she knew would be coming swiftly. Ted had exchanged the money at Gringotts, a task that Andromeda did not dare to undertake less she be spotted and reported back to her parents. There was no way to explain away her exchanging Galleons into Muggle pounds, and the punishment she could receive was one she dared not entertain thinking about.

Standing there, in front of the dainty cottage made all of the secrecy and fears they had been shrouded in for months completely worth it. This was their home now. It needed work of course, some of the shingles needed refitting and the garden needed a thorough decluttering and clearing out. Ted had ensured her that the inside was habitable, but would need some work to make it comfortable, and more than just an empty house.

Andromeda could deal with all of that.

She had practiced housework charms and spells for this occasion specifically and had even practiced transfiguring a few basic items from her old room into furniture to fill their new home. It wasn't much, but it was a start. Andromeda could see that in the future this cottage would be the perfect family home when they were ready to go from two to three. She could imagine them raising a child here and growing old together in the garden surrounded by beautiful flowers and their family and friends.

She let out a sigh of relief, this was the start of something beautiful for her and Ted, the start of a life that she couldn't wait to experience with him at her side.

"I know it's nothing fancy like where you grew up, but it's ours Andromeda," Ted reassured her, mistaking her sigh for one of sadness.

"It's all I've ever wanted and all I'll ever need Ted, as long as you're by my side."
