Hello All! I'm here to type up a new chap. I'm planning on only 1 or 2 more chapters just to wrap things up. I'll make sure the last chap I put is an epilogue, so that way you all can be satisfied with how things end. If you wish for me to make a sequel, then I will. :) Just want to please my fans. And by the way, if any of you see any major typos, please let me know and I'll fix them. I'm typing a lot of this on my tablet, and sometimes it can be a bit derpy. I'm a major grammar freak, I hate messing things up when it comes to my stories. I kind of have an OCD... well, kind of is an understatement. I do have OCD, and it drives me insane. I get it from my mom. Bleh. So anyway. I will have quite a bit of free time in the summer, especially since I hate the heat and like to stay inside. So I'll be having plenty of time to type up some chaps. So, here we go!

It was then he regained consciousness. He looked around. The elements were gone. He didn't have his shadows anymore. For some strange reason... she was still here. Adaline was still leaning against the wall, but the black sand chains were no longer holding her. He thought the elements would have taken her to safety after they had pretty much taken away his very existence. But no, she was still there. This was his chance.

He was going to kill her.

He had been planning it for a while. He didn't like her existence. He no longer cared that she was his daughter. He wanted to erase her existence.

Nothing could stop him now. Anything that could get in his way was gone for the moment. This was his chance. He got a small dagger from the inside of his... robe... thingy. He had next to no strength, but he managed. He army crawled to her, dagger in hand. When he got close, she began to wake up. He almost panicked, but he wasn't going to miss his chance. He continued on, getting close enough to aim and stab. He was just about to jab the dagger into her stomach.

Then she spoke. "Daddy...?" She murmured, still half asleep. She was dreaming about when Pitch temporarily returned after the war. After he became the embodiment of fear. He knew that dream, he had it countless times.

His eyes grew wide, and he hesitated. He remembered her little voice, asking him what was wrong. Asking him why he had betrayed her and her mother. Asking him why. Why, why, why.

Her eyes fluttered open, and she became more alert. She glared at the man who was once her father. "Pitch..." His own eyes narrowed. He lifted the dagger up, and drove it into her stomach.

Her eyes widened, and she cringed and coughed. Blood spilled out of the corner of her mouth, dripping down her chin and onto her shirt. She narrowed her eyes again. She glared at him. "Pitiful... attempting to murder your own daughter.. simply pitiful." She scoffed, spitting in his face. He flinched back and wiped the spit off of his face.

He rested his head on the ground, officially giving up.

Then they both heard footsteps. Loud ones. Sounded like they were running. Jack, Tooth, Sandy, Bunny and North all ran in, following all eight of the elements. The elements were floating, so they didn't produce any footstep noises. Jack was the first one to run to Adaline and make sure she was okay.

"Ada! Oh, God, are you okay? Can you breathe? Can you talk? Can you move?" He asks a lot of questions. She laughs a bit, more blood running down her chin as a result.

"Geez, Jack, worried much? I'm okay. I'm talking, I can breathe. I can kinda move." She lifts her arms for emphasis. "Only problem is I'm bleeding. I'm gonna need stitches.." She coughs again. More blood. "And I probably won't be able to eat any solid foods for a while."

He sighs in relief. "I'm just glad you're at least able to function. North is pretty good with medical stuff, so you'll be healed in no time." He says, but it sounded like he was only trying to reassure himself more than her. He hugs her close, burying his face in her hair. She attempts to hug back, but she doesn't really have the strength to lift her arms high enough to put them around him.

"Eh.. Jack.. as much as I'm glad you're here... I'm in pain." She says and he doesn't hesitate to but her back down.

"Sorry! Didn't meant to hurt you.." He apologizes, nervously rubbing the back of his neck. She smiles.

"It's alright, I know you had good intentions. Now.. I'm worried about the people behind you." She looks past Jack, and all the other Guardians and the Elements are beating the living snot out of Pitch. Jack looks a little shocked, but then he and Adaline both started laughing.

That resulted in more blood. Jack panicked again and went to pick her up so he could take her to Santoff Claussen, but she flinched away. "Don't pick me up..." She glared. He looked a bit afraid.

"A-alright.." He carefully puther arm around his shoulder and helped her stand. He ignored her constant insistence that she coud stand onn her own. "Adaline, if you don't let me at least help you stand I will pick you up. Bridal style." He threatens lightly. She gives up, her head hanging.

"Fine.." Jack grins. Well, that was easy. He sighs at all the others.

"Guys. He's powerless. Let's leave him, we have a stab wound to take care of." He quickly gestures to the dagger that was still in her gut. He would have taken it out, but that would cause her to lose a lot more blood than she already has. The other Guardians look at Jack and nod. They all begin to follow him out of the cave. The elements one after another leave the cave. The last one in the cave is Shadow.

He takes a good look at Pitch, glaring. He gives him one last kick in the face and then leaves the cave, feeling satisfied.

They made it to the North Pole by way of magic portal. Jack and North rushed her to the little emergency room North had. North called in some yetis to assist him. Jack was gonna be kicked out, but Adaline asked North if he could stay.

North gave in and let him stay. He held her hand as North removed the dagger from her abdomen. She squeezes Jack's hand tightly, groaning in pain. He winces a little, but it doesn't hurt for long. North lifts her shirt up and pins it up so it's out of his way. He begins to put a special ointment in the wound, then stitches it shut. She squirms a little, obviously uncomfortable.

"Ada, what bothering you now? Is it the wound?" Jack asks, concerned. She shakes her head.

"No, it's the ointment.. it burns.." She puts her hand over her eyes. North looks at her.

"Is a side effect.. it'll burn a little until wound is healed. Jack, you help her, no?" He asks, looking at Jack. Jack nods.

"Of course I'll help her." He says defiantly, as if it were obvious.

And really, it was. He makes a sheet of ice over her stitched wound, hoping the coolness would seep in and keep the ointment from burning while it heals her. He didn't think she would like staying in this hospital-like room. It smelled of medicine and latex gloves, a weird smell, really. So he asked her, "Do you want to go to your own room? North had one made for you, and I'm sure it would be much better than this room.. it smells weird." She silently laughs and nods.

"Yeah, that would be nice. Is there a wheelchair I could use? Or crutches even? I really don't want to be carried.." She says, still aggravated at her flesh wound. He laughs audibly.

"You really don't like being carried or picked up. Why is that?" He asks her, looking around for some mode of temporary transportation. Her sighs could be heard all the way across the room.

"I don't know, I just don't feel comfortable with other people carrying me. I just don't like it." She shrugs, almost instantly regretting the movement. She hisses in pain, it almost seemed like the ointment was making the pain worse. Maybe that's what it was supposed to do? Or maybe just whatever was torn inside her stomach being put back together was what was so painful. She didn't know, she just wanted the pain to end. Soon.

Jack ended up somehow finding a wheelchair for her to use, in the depths of the medical closet that was across the room. He put more ice on her stomach, since the ice he put on just minutes before had already melted. He then helps her onto the wheelchair and takes her to her room which North had designed and had the yetis build. North had made a room for each Guardian to stay in, personalizing each one. Neither Jack or Adaline had seen what her room looked like, so they were both about to find out.

He pushed her into the room and...
