5 Drabbles Competition
Andromeda/Ted
'heal'
Andromeda had been waiting for this very thing to happen since she had sent the letter to her parents informing them of her secret marriage to Ted. She thought she had prepared herself enough for the response she would get. It would come as no surprise that her family decided to fully disown her, blasting her off the family tree, for daring to taint the purest of all blood.
She didn't know who was angrier, her father who had expressed the pure anger he felt and how he could never view her as his daughter again for her actions, or her aunt Walburga. While she was not the head of the family, Walburga definitely saw herself as such, and had sent a roaring letter to her niece about her betrayal and how despicable it was that a Black would sink to the depths of marrying a Mudblood. Andromeda had taken great joy in blasting that letter into pieces.
The letters hadn't been the worst part though, it was the incapacitating pain accompanied by the hollow feeling of emptiness as her connection to the Black family and its magic was severed. Her magical core had never felt this depleted before, and her hands shook as they tore at the clothing covering her chest. The need to fill the gaping wound was overwhelming and tears flowed freely down her cheeks as she took deep shuddering breaths, a lost attempt at stabilising herself and her magic within her.
Thinking she was alone, she startled at the feeling of warm hands grasping her own. Ted. She always knew when he was near, she could feel it in her heart when he was close to her. As he took her in his arms, encasing her in his magic and the complete feeling of safety, she felt it. His magic had begun to seep and intertwine with her own, becoming one as their cores merged.
She could feel his magic as it filled the gaping wound left behind by her disownment. She could feel as the tendrils began to gently sew the wound shut, healing her in ways she had never expected or anticipated. She shouldn't have been surprised, her Ted was the perfect Hufflepuff, kind and caring and the most loving man she had ever met. He was always at her side, ready to stand up for her at a moments notice, and always there to heal her wounds physically and emotionally. She was a force to be reckoned with, and he was her constant pillar of strength.
