I had made sure Bella knew Jacob would be important in the future so I helped her put her stuff away taking only a few seconds and when Jacob did visit I made sure he felt like he was welcome. The first day of school was going to be exciting. As the school started, I reminded her I would be around and she could communicate with me whenever she wanted. She was a bit scared but put on a brave face. It went exactly the same way, though she much more confident than i was and made immediate friends with Angela the one who really was a good friend till the end. With my mind reading I was able to see the pull Edward felt and the times he nearly lost control, I was sure I would have to intervene at one point. The day ended without any accident and I knew Edward was on his way to Alaska.
We had a week to put things in motion. The human me made deep friendship with Jacob, Seth and even Paul within two days. I had named the cats Calpurnia and pixie ,and dogs miley and helda . They were hungry little suckers and were causing a dent in Bella's savings so I sold few antiques I had collected on my murder spree. I hunted often but far from Cullen land. My speed definitely helped and so did the visions. Within a week human me was fast friends with Emily and Leah.
When Edward did return my human self was more enthralling to him then I was. She was graceful, beautiful and smarter then when I was human. The last two years had changed her. Edward was falling before he realised. The accident with Tyler's van was to happen or things would not be the same. It was scary watching from sidelines but It had to be done. After his fight with the family he visited Bella as she slept, the cats actually meowed so loudly my sensitive vampire ears hurt. Edward would have killed them both for their noise but he knew Bella was fond of those suckers. He visited every night even bringing treats for the cats. Being around me had the cats and dogs be open to Edward they just didn't like him a lot. He snarled every time they made a noise. It was so funny to watch.
The whole month Jacob visited Bella too playing with the animals and helping her repaint the car and fix the engine. She even asked him help on gardening which was more for me than her. Being with Esme had made me bit of a garden lover. The patchwork of flowers calmed me and worked as a hope to a better future. Bella would run daily often joined by Jacob and practised her boxing moves on him often hurting herself. Edward hated Jacob and Bella's growing friendship and seethed in her room every night. The only incentive he did feel was whenever Bella would speak his name in her dreams. All my doing, i filled her dreams with my visions of the happy future they could have.
Edward was still avoiding human me at school so told her to mention increased weights of her cats to Lauren and Angela and Edward actually froze in his tracks, his back hitting Jasper who was walking behind him. I was chuckling the whole day. When Edward was miffed enough he started to talk again. The trip to La push beach was just a preemptive, however I did love meeting Jacob again. The trip to port Angeles where i was to be saved by Edward went without a hitch. Those three would be in jail anyways if Edward had not intervened. The year passed slowly and with no looming shadow of James, I went on my next set of errands.
