Guys, I'm SO sorry I haven't updated! I've been so busy with school, and the upcoming musical at my school I've had no time to do anything except paint and do homework!
And no, before you ask, I didn't audition or get cast for the musical. I do the drawing and painting of the background and some props. I mix paint and wash brushes etc. I would be in the musical.. but.. / I don't do well in front of crowds. Or in them for that matter... Anyway, I'm sorry I haven't updated in weeks. Please forgive me! T^T
In the little free time I've had, I've worked a bit on my upcoming stories, Renewal and Silver-Eyed Reaper. So, I'm pretty excited for them. ^^ Thanks so much for sticking with me so far, and hopefully you'll stick with me until the end. ^_^
She faked an evil grin. He fell for it! Now to phase two. I just have to get into his head.. Pitch.. what are you thinking? Audrey asked mentally, holding her hand out for a handshake. He obliged, taking her hand and giving it a firm shake. She smirked, and closed her eyes. She focused all of her power, the wind picking up around them. She opened her eyes, now burning a bright shimmering gold.
Pitch looked shocked. "A-Audrey, what are you doing?!" He asked, afraid. She made the air around him grow extremely thin, suffocating him. He looked around, the Guardians appeared all around him and they all attacked him at once. He was scared and shocked, he couldn't even move. He didn't know what to do. She grinned in his face.
"Oh, don't worry, Pitch. Everything is going according to plan." She sneered at him, and he looked at her in horror.
"But we made a deal!" He shouted. She laughed and held up her hand, showing something.
"My fingers were crossed. It doesn't count." She smirks. Pitch almost looks like he was about to cry. He got angry.
"How dare you! You fool! I trusted you! You're really stupid enough to side with those wretched guardians?! HOW DARE YOU BETRAY ME?!" He screamed at the top of his lungs. She sighed.
"I was never on your side from the start. If you honestly thought I would seriously be on your side after all the scars you gave and, and all the blood you spilled from the lashes, you're dumber than I thought." She spoke honestly. Pitch was broken, for the first time since he was regarded simply as a nonexistent fear. He was torn, and Audrey could see that. She almost felt bad for him. Almost.
She looked over to Jack. "Think I should release him yet?" She asked, tilting her head. Jack shook his head.
"Nah, give it a while more. We should take him to the destination first." He said. She nodded in agreement.
"Okay. Well, then what are we waiting for? Let's take him to the destination." North carried Pitch, who was paralyzed due to Audrey's manipulating the air around him. Audrey completely drained him of oxygen, causing him to pass out.
If only he knew.
A few hours later..
Pitch woke up. In the exact place he was just talking to Audrey. Is this supposed to be the 'destination' they were speaking of? He asked himself.
"Not quite.." A voice laughed in his head.
"Audrey? Where are you?" He shouted, looking around.
"Oh Pitchy... I'm in your head. I figured you'd be at least smart enough to figure that out." He could practically hear her rolling her eyes and smirking.
"Why are you in my head? Show yourself!" He shouted. She only laughed again.
"I can't 'show myself', Deary."
"And why not?"
"I don't truly exist."
"What do you mean? Of course you exist."
"I'm simply a figment of your imagination." Pitch's eyes widened. He thought about it.
"No.. You can't be my imagination."
"Oh, but I am."
"I know you're real. I've touched you.. I know you exist." He insisted, more to himself than her. She shook her head.
"Pitch. I'm only in your mind."
"No.. But I know you exist! You are real! I haven't been imagining this whole time! You are REAL!"
"But I'm not, Pitch. I died after the years and years of torture. I died just before You imagined me say that I would join you." She explained curtly. She wasn't lying. That's what he thought. And that's what he was afraid of. He didn't want to accept he had gone crazy and imagined her existence. He didn't want it to be true. He didn't want to admit it.
He was terrified.
He shook his head rapidly, denying, no, refusing to admit she wasn't real. She always seemed so real, he had always been convinced she wasn't his imagination, he never doubted she existed beside him.
And now she was telling him she was only his imagination.
What she's telling him..
It couldn't be real.
He honestly didn't want it to be real.
He felt that it was nice to have someone be evil with him, a companion who agreed with him and would stay by him.
Not only did she betray him, not only was she never with him from the start, now she wasn't even a real person.
It broke him.
He couldn't bear it.
He never thought he'd see the day..
Where someone like Audrey could break what he had left of his heart.
