CHAPTER ELEVEN
The alarm set for 8:00a.m. screamed its wake up call. Keya's head sprung up off her pillow right when the resounding sound of her pesky alarm jolted her body awake with a start! With a small groan, she reached over to the clock on the bedside table and switching it off before sitting up right.
"Aww... god."
She sighed, softly rubbing her eyes as she yawned before getting up and dressing in a red tank top with a black thigh high skirt accompanied with black swayed boots.
Now dressed, she gave her hair a quick run through with the brush then slowly and quietly opened her bedroom door and began the new day. Peering out, Keya scanned from her place to see if anyone was in the searing area. Seeing, nor hearing anyone, she silently made her way out and headed towards the kitchen to begin making breakfast.
--
Lair, Kitchen...
Setting the table, she placed 6 cups of coffee, 6 empty bowls, a jug of mike and a box of cereals ready for use's. She had another thought that occurred to her after she had finished and that maybe some juice and tea might be preferred instead of just coffee, so she prepared them as well.
With a soft sigh, she sat down with her back facing the door and waited for the others. She knew they would be getting up right about now anyway, that's if they weren't already. Being on her own in the quiet and not doing anything, wild thought began running around her head about a certain crimson eye mask-wearing turtle she was craving the attention of last night. With out even realising, Keya began giggling to herself and shook her head softly at some of the naughty or dirty ideas her mind sudden possessed.
"Mornin' Sweetheart."
Came the oh-so familial gruff 'n thick Brooklyn accent she had come to love the sound of. Keya sprung round from were she was sitting seeing Raphael was leaning on the door frame, holding one Sai in his left hand and spinning the other one in his right, as he held a smarmy grin while drinking in the sight of her wearing that red tank top and her exceptionally sexy looking legs in that small skirt.
Keya reflected the similar grin back.
"Like what you see?"
She asked sarcastically, having Raphael snigger and almost blushing actually - since it was a full down 'YES!!!' He loved what he was seeing.
"So... been up long?"
He asked, making his way unassertive over to the chair next to her.
"Not really, I got up at eight and came in here to set the table. You?"
"Nahh..."
Raphael took a seat to the right hand side of Keya and leaned back - folding his arms casually.
"Only been up long enough to take a shower and pick up my C.D's."
He winked at her in the last part and a soft rumble of laughed fitted as they remembered how the C.D's got knocked over in the first place.
"O.. Morning, Raph. Morning, Keya."
Moaned a groggier than life, Donatello. The purple clad turtle slouched into the kitchen and took a seat next to Raph's right hand side. Both his brother and friend held a fixed gaze on him, wondering if they were actually looking at Donatello right now, or the living dead.
"Whoa, Donnie?"
Keya carefully ventured out, holding a grimaced expression.
"What happened to you?... You look like ya haven't slept a wink."
"Yeah, what's up bro?"
Added Raph. Donatello let out a big yawn, inventorially.
"I didn't really get a lot of sleep last night."
He groaned looking at the ever loving coffee that was so softly and so very lovingly calling his name.
'Donnie... Donnie... Drink me, Donnie.'
It said, and it only made the purple clad turtle rubbing his head wonder if he really did just heard a voice say that.
"I got stuck into that new invention I'm doing up,"
He explained to Raph and Keya... Not the coffee.
"And I was also chatting online, so I kinder lost track of time and slept a little on the lab bed. Now, I feel terrible!"
"Yer tellin' me, ya look it to kid."
Snorted Raph. Discreetly, Keya kicked Raphael's leg under the table and unquestionably got his attention - only to gave him an angry looking glare.
'What the fuck !?!?'
He thought with a slight shocked expression.
'Did she just kick me?'
Keya gave him a glare of warning - silently telling him to be nicer to his brother. Raphael caught on - having no idea what came over him.
"I mean err..."
He stammered, kindly setting his attention to Donnie.
"Why don't ya go back to bed for an hour or two, bro?"
Donatello rubbed his head.
"Thanks,"
He smiled, lowering his hand and relaxing it on the table.
"But I'm gonna grab some coffee then maybe hit the Dojo room for five."
Raphael nodded to Donnie's answer and spoke not another word more. All three of them just sat there, waiting silently for the others to come. Eventually, Donatello gave up slyly looking at Keya and Raphael in that awkward silence and stated a fact.
"You two are being very quiet for two people who couldn't stop scoring points of each other yesterday?"
Raphael reached out for a cup of coffee hearing Keya softly clearing her throat.
"Yeah, we're...keeping it together."
The red clad turtle unintentionally chocked on the coffee, struggling to get his breath back.
"Yeah,"
He rasped.
"Yeah we're err.. Good...Good, Donnie."
With a soft laugh, the genius of the team picked up a cup of coffee for himself.
"Good,"
He said, before taking a sip.
"Its nice to have a peaceful, loving atmosphere in the lair once in awhile. Just make sure you keep it together."
He winked, quickly before taking a long thoughtful drink of his coffee and leaving both Raph and Keya looking a little dumbfounded... What did he mean by that?.
"Ahh..."
Softly proclaimed the old rat as he, Leonardo and Michelangelo finally joined the three in the kitchen with a kind greeting.
"Good Morning, my students."
"Morning, Sensei."
"Sup!"
Splinter took his seat as did the other two brothers, accordingly. Leo naturally, before doing anything else, pulled out a newspaper again and set about browsing for anything of interest to read before breakfast. A story on page 2 was something interesting to read, something, very interesting that caught his eyes.
"I'm telling you Dudes and Dudette, it was wicked scary!"
Claimed Mikey, talking about the film he watched last night on his own.
"It was like this village and these crazy weird things which attack it at night an stuff..."
"What was it called, Mikey?"
Asked Donnie, sharing an interest in what his little brother was on about while pouring milk on his cereal.
"It was called..."
Said Mikey, tapping his spoon on his mouth as he was trying to remember.
"The Village!"
He exclaimed, pointing the spoon at Donnie. Raphael laughed with a roll of his eyes.
"Mikey that's nothing, you should try watching The Exorcism of Emily Rose,"
The red clad turtle pointed at his baby brother as he stated.
"Now that's got potential!"
The youngest merely stuck his tongue out before giggling.
"Yeah, maybe I will I mean it is Halloween week after all. HEY!"
He suddenly barked getting an idea.
"I GOT IT! How about we all watch it tonight?"
Everyone's faces scrunched up - not really up for that, so the young orange clad turtle heard a resounding groaning moan from nearly everyone as they slyly regarded each other with twisted faces.
"Nahh, sorry Mike's, but I'm not big on the whole horror films."
Mentioned Donatello, wanting to back out and let his brother down gently.
"Wimp!"
Raphael sniggered, before taking a spoon full of cereal but kept his eyes on Donnie to met the glare he was sure to get. Luckily, the phone started ringing, so, ignoring Raphael's last comment, Donatello got up to answer it.
Following the pacifist with his eyes a moment longer, Raph snorted and averted his attention back to his cereals. Donnie was never one to go out of his way for a good argument, so he was thanking that phone call for braking up the slight bating mood that was settling.
It was always the same, if Leo had caught Raph having a go at Donnie, then he'd step in, and if Raph caught Leo having a go at Mikey, then he'd step in. It was basically an excuse - more for Raph than Leo - to have a good punch up, but not today!
Suddenly, the red clad turtles breath hitched when feeling a delicate little hand slowly being moved along his thigh in a delicious soothing motion. Keya had decided, slyly, to get the temperamental turtles attention... His eye's grew wide ever so slightly and he froze - feeling the sensual motions of her hand so beautifully caressing his thigh and causing shudders to ran through him.
'Oh, god,'
He mentally gasped at the glorious sensation while still keeping his sights fixed on his cereal.
'what's she doin' now?'
Everyone else was completely unaware of what was going on between both turtle and human as Mikey continued trying to coax everyone to join him for a film night.
"Aww... come on guys, its Halloween, it only come's but once a year!"
He chimed giving his sweet child like smile. Raphael growled low and softly, shutting his eyes unintentionally and slumping forward - almost dropping his face into his bowl - with a slight groan of pleasure as he went weak a split second from the carnal feeling of the rather soothing attention he was getting as she rubbed his inner thigh.
Splinter eyed his red clad son's sudden strange behaviour. The young woman next to him continued eating as if she was doing nothing under the table, so, cunning Keya was innocent from where the elderly rat was sitting.
Raphael grit his teeth and leaned back, trying, to repress the wonderful feeling Keya was creating with a few gently strokes. He looked to her seeing she was acting as if she was doing nothing and simply eating away at her cereal. She wasn't even looking at him!
'I'm gonna make her pay...'
Raphael schemed in his head - unable to control the sinister grin that spread across his wide mouth while looking at the prize beauty at his side.
"Raphael?"
The confused sound from Splinter, snapped Raph's train of thought and caused the young turtle to jolt his sights to his Sensei. He noticed a rather puzzling look upon his fathers face and felt more than impish at what he was thinking about doing to Keya, but now was not the time nor place!
"Ye.. Yes, Master Splinter?"
He asked with a bland expression.
"Are you okay, my son?"
Questioned the old rat, ridging his furry brow just a little at his wild child. Keya grinned secretly and moved her hand up between the turtles legs.
"KE!... a... I mean err..."
Raph shrilled, bolting to his feet immediately and having everyone's attention on him. The temperamental turtle paused and done the only thing he could think of at a time like this... He growled in frustration and quickly stormed off.
Leonardo, Michelangelo and Master Splinter, were left with a rather confused expression upon there faces while Keya simply continued eating her cereal - overly happy with the result of his temper.
'Oh, he's gonna be so pissed with me hehehehe...'
She giggle to herself while wondering how he's going to get her back. Splinter looked to Keya a little dumbfounded.
"Sometime's, I worry about that boy."
He said wearily. The young woman sweetly smiled in response.
"Yeah, so do I..."
"Hey its, Raph,"
Added Mikey.
"Does he need a reason to be weird on times?"
Leonardo shrugged and disregarded what just happened so he could get back to the film topic after having listing to his baby brother ramble on and on about how great it will be.
"Okay Mikey, I guess we could, I mean we haven't had a nice family film night in a while. What do you say, Master Splinter?"
"It sound's reasonable, Leonardo."
In the agreement Donatello rejoined the table, looking rather happy to say the least.
"Well guys, I just got off the phone to Casey, and well... HE did IT!"
Exclaimed the purple clad turtle, seeing instant happy glowing smiles from everyone.
"He and April are now officially engaged and there coming over later so April can show off her new ring."
"Aww..."
Mikey couldn't help but coo his aww's of happiness.
"Well its about time that cheese head popped the question. What's it been? like three years?"
"Yeah, that's what we all said too."
Laughed Leo, idly turning the page in the newspaper.
"Well I think its romantic."
Admitted the young woman.
"It must be lovely having someone propose to ya, someone who loves you for you, who will always love you forever an ever and will never give up on your love... It just makes me feel all fuzzy inside."
"Kay..."
Sniped Leo, holding an eye ridged and not taking his sights off the paper as he read while listening to Keya proclaim her love beliefs.
"Your day will come too, young Keyanna."
Softly informed Splinter as well as gently placing his hand only of the females.
"Love has a funny way of finding you. Though some people my not find true love right away, it will come to them later on in life... Nonetheless, it will be there."
"Yeah,"
Said Mikey, before taking in another mouth full of cereal and raining on the young woman's parade.
"like what kinder happened to Raph and that Mona girl--"
"Lisa. Mona Lisa, Mikey."
Donnie had felt the particular urge to correct his little brother for some unknown reason, he was like that.
"What?!?!"
The young woman's attention had shot straight to Michelangelo - forgetting she and Raph wanted to remain a secret for a little while. Donatello rolled his eyes, remembering how lame Raph's and Mona's little fling had been and sighed.
"Yeah,"
He looking to his baby brother.
"But Mikey, that was like 8 billion years ago and we all knew nothing would of come of it. They were just kid's at the time, and kids, grow up ... Leaving their childish life behind them."
Donnie took a sip of his coffee before reminding his baby brother.
"Apart from you Mikey, I don't think you will ever grow up."
Michelangelo shrugged happily and continued eating, however, in their talk Keya's right eye twitched involuntarily as she listened to Mikey and Donnie go on.
"So how many year's ago are we talking?"
She questioned slyly, trying to keep her tone as normal as possible and simply make it look as though she was merely looking for table conversation.
"And what was she... Was she human?"
Mikey winced his eyes thinking about how far back it was.
"What was it dudes?"
He asked in a strained thoughtful tone of voice.
The other's nodded.
"Yeah, something like that."
Confirmed Donnie, reaching out for another cup of coffee.
"Raph was about eight-ish and I think she was a mutated lizard or something...she was an accident of some lab explosion."
Keya's eyes widened in shock.
"A lizard!"
She chocked.
"Whoa Dudette, clam down, what do you care anyway?"
Laughed Mikey, before drinking down the excess milk in his bowl. Keya's right eye twitched yet again at Mikey's question.
"I don't!!!"
Keya barked, forcing a laugh after she couldn't help slamming a fist on the table in anger.
"Why would I care?!?!... I don't care!...STOP LOOKING AT ME!"
Irate was an under statement. Keya had snapped in frustration quicker than anyone had realised before setting her sights to Leonardo.
"Hey Leo, what's it say in the paper today!?"
She asked in a feeble attempt in changing the subject and getting everyone to concern themselves with something else. Leonardo took a calm collect sip of his coffee, before he spoke, sounding a little patronizing.
"Well Keya, how old are you?,"
He asked ever so calmly.
"Because, according to this, your 21 and your dead."
"WHAT?!?!?"
The group shouted in union as the young woman snatched the paper from the leader turtle, with aggression.
"Let me see that!"
Quickly scanning throw the page, she read out loud as she went along.
"21 year old Keya Doral is presumed dead today at 4:47am of the early hours after NYPD leave the site of the bar knowing as the Hunters lodge. Once again, in the early hours of the morning last Monday, The police had found the remains of a girl who was burnt in the fire. The police are still undergoing a search for James Gunter who was her partner in work. The boss has stated he has no knowledge of his staffs privet life's and is unsure if the young man was involved with the female victim Keya Doral. The police are still looking for any witnesses of this obscene attack to come forward, Blah, blah, blah, blah blah!"
Keya traced off in annoyance - looking up at the guys.
"This is such bull Shit!"
She uttered under her breath, slowly placing the paper on the table. Donatello got up and placed his arm around her in a timid effort to calm her down.
"Hey, its okay,"
Soothed the pacifist.
"I mean, we know the truth right?"
Keya slowly fell back down on her chair and suddenly slammed her fist down on the table - snapping in aggression.
"21! WHERE DO THEY GET OFF SAYING I'M 21! I'm 18 not 21!"
Looking up to the guys, she cocked her head up in question.
"Do I look 21?... I mean really, am I that old looking that they say I'm 21!?!?"
All four males - including Splinter - were weary of the young female, suddenly. Mikey, smiled a little freaked out by her actions and questions to the situation, thought to tell her what she wanted to hear.
"Of course not Dudette! You don't look a day over 5!"
"MIKEY!"
Donnie snapped, knowing she didn't quite what to hear that age number either. Leonardo leaned forward and took hold of Keya's hand in comfort, though a thought did pop into his head.
'Okay, Keya's Crazy!'
He gently tapped her hand and spoke - sounding patronizing, yet again.
"Keya, you look more 17 if it makes you feel better, however... I think your missing the whole point here love, mainly the point about you being Dead?"
Keya yanked her hand away from the blue clad turtle and quickly stood up moodily, she was not one to enjoy being spoken to as though she was an idiot.
Unfortunately, turtle luck sticking true to form, Raphael was coming back into the kitchen at the wrong time.
"Whoa!"
Keya stormed right past him - nearly knocking him over and was completely oblivious to the whole situation. Out of swift reflexes he quickly grabbed Keya's hand in a stammer.
"Key-Keya what's the--"
The enraged female snatched her hand away and snarled on tip toes to get right up in Raph's face.
"DROP DEAD!"
With out another word, the temperamental woman turned on the balls of her feet and continued storming off.
'Okay,'
Raphael blinked several times, shocked and stunned with such a reaction.
'What the fuck was that about?!?!?'
He stopped in his thought and winced his eyes before setting his sights to his brothers - scowling at them. Immediately he demanded as he pointed in the direction Keya was going in.
"WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU NINJA WASH OUT'S SAID TO HER!?!?!"
"First of all, RAPH!"
Leonardo spoke in authority as he picked up the news paper and held it up at chest level - showing his tempered brother that the news paper had something to do with. Clearly, she didn't like what she read.
"We said nothing, it was the paper, and second of all, I'd be a little more careful on who you call Wash outs. It wasn't us that made the mistake of getting poisoned!"
emphasized the leader.
"WHICH just goes to show you clearly weren't paying attention to your surroundings! And thirdly, you'd be dead if it wasn't for us Ninja wash outs! SO GET A GRIP!"
Leonardo slammed the paper back down on the table in anger - making a point. Raphael, really not having time to bite Leo's hook right now, grit his teeth while emitting a snarl and stormed out of the kitchen. The eldest turtle shook his head placing one hand over his eyes as he muttered under his breath.
"There both Fucking Crazy!"
Splinter regarded his blue clad son.
"Leonardo,"
He spoke firmly, instantly gaining that said son full undivided attention.
"what you just said was not what a true ninja would have said, you do not save a life then throw it back in that person's face... you will apologize for your words later to, Raphael."
Leo let out a sigh of regret as he removed his hand form his face and nodded lightly in full agreement to what was just said.
"I'm sorry Sensei, I didn't mean to say what I did, it just slipped out."
"But Master Splinter,"
Intervened Donatello, stepping in to help defend Leonardo's actions after looking at the situation closely.
"Raph did ask for that... so you can't really blame--"
Splinter held his hand up - instructing Donatello to stop talking, and as though he had literally taken the purple clad turtles voice away with in that small hand movement, Donnie had ceased in voicing his opinion.
"My son,"
Began the elderly rat.
"There is no reason for brothers to fight each other, only reason to fight as one! I will have a word with Raphael, later. Now, if you will excuse me I have some meditation to do, there are things I have to think about and seek answers too."
The reaming three turtles all nodded seeing Master Splinter leave for the Meditations room.
--
Lair, Seating area...
As Splinter got to the meditations room, his eye's widened silently when seeing his most aggressive son knocking so very kindly on Keya's door as he leaned his head against it.
"Keya ..."
Raphael spoke so very calmly, however, the old rat noted his son spoke through grit teeth. Sensei Splinter could see his son was trying to be nice... but why?... His suspicions of the human and his son now had no end.
"Keya ... Please,"
Gently stressed the red clad turtle on his sixth attempt in getting her to talk to him.
"Will you PLEASE... Open the door?"
"NO!"
Was Keya's abrupt response. Raphael's eyes twitched in stress at her answer, and his rage took over, he only had so much patients and even now, he's over done it. Raph pulled his head away from the door, simultaneously slamming his fist into the wall beside the door with a resounding growl of stress being roared deep within his throat.
"RAPHAEL!"
Splinter shouted.
"Enough!"
The hot headed turtle turned his sights on to his father, his breathing was worked up and his anger was high,
"WOMEN!"
Furiously snarled the tempered ninja looking back at the door and pulling his fist from the wall - leaving a small trickle of blood run down the wall where he had hit it.
Raphael turned round, sharply, on his heels and swiftly pulled his Sais out from his belt in shear anger as he headed for the Dojo room and proceeded to smash up everything and anything he could get his hands on.
Donatello, Michelangelo and Leonardo, had all ran out of the kitchen to see what and where commotion was coming from.
"Whoa,"
Mikey laughed, pointing to the Dojo room.
"someone's cranky."
"MICHELANGELO!"
Splinter shouted, getting their attentions and scowling at them all.
"What did I just say in the kitchen only a few minuets ago!"
Leo looked back at the Dojo room door and shook his head while sighing moodily under his breath.
"Hot Head!"
he walked into seating area and grabbed the book he was currently reading at the moment and nestled himself in the corner of the couch to escape the overly stressed noise's of his temper brother. Donatello rolled his eyes at the noise still coming from the Dojo room and sighed.
"I'll be in my lab if anyone needs me."
Mikey looked over to the Dojo room and after a moments consideration he slowly began to make his way towards it--
"MICHELANGELO!"
Splinter snapped, causing Mikey to jump in shock of the sudden call and stir.
"You do not go in there!"
His sensei's words were firm but Mikey smiled in a moan - knowing his big brother well enough to know he would never hurt him.
"Aww, come on Master Splinter, I just wanna talk to him that's all."
Splinter pointed to his son's video games and comic books - indicating that he is to spend his time on them.
"Aww... but Sen--"
"NO, MICHELANGELO!"
The orange clad turtles moaning pout was cut dead at his fathers swift counter.
"you will stay in this room. Leonardo, watch him, he is not to leave your sight!"
The leader turtle looked up from his book and nodded.
"Of course, Master Splinter."
Averting at attention over to Michelangelo, he called him.
"Mikey.. You heard him little bro."
Splinter, satisfied Leonardo would make sure Michelangelo would not be out of sight, headed into the meditations room and began thinking about the way his son Raphael, was acting around Keya. His mind cluttered up full of possibility... which meant he was going to have to keep a very close eye on the two, to see if his assumptions are correct, and if so, Keya was in for a strong chat. A Very, Strong Chat, as was his son.
An hour had gone by and the noise of wood cracking, metal clanking and abrupt bangs; even growling cruse words, had all began to dim. A few more hours, and the lair was silent.
"Hmmm,"
Leonardo sniggered as he listened to the endless nothing.
"he must have ran out of stuff to brake."
Mikey looked to Leo, with a frown, and had every intention of aiming a snide come back; when suddenly, another crash came from the dojo room. The orange clad sibling sniggered, knowing Raph did that on purpose in order to shut his eldest brother up. Raphael was just waiting for that snide comment from his leader.
"There again,"
Leonardo looked down and continued reading.
"maybe not..."
He muttered agitatedly. Mikey turned back to his game and continued playing, with a smile on his face. A few minuets went by and the lair wall doors opened.
"HEY GUYS!!!! Guess who's here?"
Announced a familiar male voice.
"It's Casey Jones and the future Mrs April Jones!"
His excitement was ecstatically obvious. Mikey and Leo both sprang up with kind smile's, all too happy to see those human friends of theirs.
"Congratz Dude!"
Sounded the youngest, scampering over to them and claiming April in a big gentle hug.
"And April, if it don't work out with this bozo here, give me a call, I'll Marry you! Till death us do part!"
He sweetly grinned that special smile reserved for such playfulness.
"Aww Mikey,"
April chuckled, giving him a gentle hug back.
"You're so sweet."
"Yeah well,"
Grunted Casey, regarding the little turtles words.
"it will be a very ugly death too, if yer come near my soon ter be wife!"
"He's only joking Casey."
Snorted Leo, closing the distance between them.
"Anyway, congratulations both!"
"Hey guys,"
Said Donatello softly, just exiting his lab after hearing the announcement of Casey and headed over to them.
"Gratz on your engagement."
Shaking Casey's hand, Donatello then hugged April and it was quite a strong but gentle hug from the turtle to the human. Donnie had a soft spot for the lovely redhead he was holding in his arms right now, but knew she and Casey belonged together and he knew that after three years of loyalty and full commitment from the guy, April was marrying a decent enough bloke. So Donnie knew she was going to be happy, and he knew Casey would protect her till his last breath.
"Yes, congratulations on your happy news Miss O'Neil and Mr Jones."
Splinter announced humbly, as he too, joined the small gathering. April giggled joyfully - braking from the hug with Donnie but rested her arm around the back of his neck and on his shoulders as he rested his hand on her hip; in a friendly manner of course, though he couldn't help secretly taking in the beautiful woman's scent.
"Thanks, guys."
Smiled April, all too excited for the big day!
"Hey, where's my main man Raphie-Boy?"
Sniggered Casey, directing his eyes around the area they were standing in in case his sullen broody friend was somewhere up on the second level, leaning against a pillar, eye balling them.
"He's in the Dojo room, but I wouldn't go in there right now."
Advised Leonardo. Casey regarded the door Raphael was on the other side of and asked.
"Oh yeah ... why?"
Donatello rolled his eyes and sighed.
"He's in another funk again."
"Yeah, a major Funk!"
Added Mikey.
"Oh?"
Casey slowly made his way towards the Dojo room and looked over his shoulder as he continued.
"how long has he been in there?"
He questioned slyly, having Leo answer casually while folding his arms.
"About four hours."
Casey laughed and began to open the door.
"Well then, he should be well cool by now."
Turning back to look in the room a Sai swiftly embedded in a sudden ting to the door frame to the left of Casey's head. The vigilant human flinched, jolting his eye to look at the Sai and gasped in a breath of small fear.
"Whoa."
Casey set his sights to enraged ninja with in the room and felt his stomach do a back flip at the sight of the aggressive turtle.
"Hey Raph,"
He said nervously - seeing the state his friend was in. Raphael was standing only a small distance away, with clenched fists, narrowed eyes, growling breathing and looking pretty cut up around the knuckles.
"How...How's it going buddy?"
Casey asked unnervingly, but Raphael's silent answer came a second time. Another Sai flew to the right side of Casey this time and also became one with the door frame.
"Whoa Raph, come on pal."
The male human said in reason - still not getting the point. Raphael pulled out his 3rd Sai of back up - instantly seeing Casey's eyes widen as he guessed where that one was going to go.
Front line an centre.
"Whoa!"
"GET OOOUUT!!!!!!!!!!"
Roared the red clad turtle, causing the others in the seating area to jump just as Casey did. Instantly, the human slipped back and slammed the door shut before he looked to the others with wide eyes.
"Pardon my language Master Splinter, but what the fuck was that about?!?!?"
Leonardo waved his arm lazily and sighed.
"Ahh don't worry about it, some stuff was said this morning and he's been pissed off ever since."
"Leonardo!"
Warned Master Splinter, swiftly having and hearing a retort from his eldest son.
"Sorry, Master!"
After hours of thought, Keya had finally decided to come out of her room.
Seeing Casey and April, she said hi and congratulations on their engagement and then she also apologized to Leo, Donnie, Mikey and her Sensei for the way she snapped that morning. Being the kind hearted mutants that they were, she was thankful they forgave her with out hesitation, especially Leo. He was actually a nice leader, once you get over his slight arrogance in being the leader, that is.
Looking around the room, Keya noticed her certain some some was no where to be seen and at that point onwards felt an adrenaline rush.
"Where's, Raphael?"
She asked with a soft shrug of her shoulders.
"He is in the Dojo room, my child."
Kindly answered Master Splinter.
"Though it is not wise to go to him just now, we must wait for him to come to us."
The older rat looked to the room that held inside the son of discussion, with a scowling glair.
"However,"
He reminded as he regarded the group seriously.
"If he keep's this up, I believe the brig will be in order!"
"Brig?"
Keya's interests peeked as she closed the distance between her and the beings she has come to befriend.
"It's a holding cell Donnie built for Raph when he gets out of control,"
Honestly explained Leonardo.
"Its basically a safety room to keep him and us safe."
"What do you mean? you lock him up or something?"
Keya inquired, sounding rather confused.
"We have good reason to, Keya babe."
Mikey added, stepping forward while trying to reason.
"But I ain't proud ta admit it."
He had said that considerably seriously, which freaked Keya out a little since she has never heard him sound like that before.
"Its not like we suddenly woke up one morning an though, oh I know, lets build a steel room and lock Raph up in it ... Yes, that will be fun."
"Michelangelo!"
Splinter frowned at Mikey's sarcasm - hearing a quick apology from him before hearing him helplessly having a giggle follow after it.
"Well,"
Keya shrugged and questioned, still in wonder.
"why?"
The group found themselves looking to purple clad brain of the clan for the answer, thus having Keya set her attention to him as well.
"Donnie?"
She asked, raising one eye brow. Donatello took in a silent breath and slouched a little.
"Okay,"
He sighed, not really happy that this has fallen to him to explain.
"The Brig was built and designed by me. Master Splinter had instructed me to build one, after, a sudden freak out on Raph's part."
Keya swallowed down hard, not sure if she wanted to know the story but something was up and her curiosity screamed at her to find out what it was.
"Okay."
She gave a small nod for him to continue.
"Raphael was in one of his state of aggression's a few years back, but back then, instead of letting him go off and smash up whatever he could to calm himself, we tried another approach of getting him to calm. We tried the ever loving an simple talking trick."
Thinking back on it now only made Donnie laugh, the talking trick was the most useless thing to have tried on Raph, and, it was the most dangerous.
"We got him to release his anger with words and not violence since you know, being a mutant turtle has it's disadvantages. We couldn't very well have him see a shrink or send him to anger management class, so... Master Splinter suggested I tried talking to him, basically shrink him myself and get him to talk about his feeling and emotions. But trying to get Raph to openly discuses his feelings and emotions, is like trying to get blood from a rock... It is not going to happen."
Keya nodded again as Donnie took in a deep breath thinking of how to say the whole reason of why the brig exists in the first place.
"Anyway,"
He continued.
"One day, me an Raph was in a session in the lab. Raph was lying there and I was trying to talk to him after he got himself into another anger tiff again, when... When ehh..."
Donnie traced off, he wanted to say it, but couldn't, it was not something a brother want's to remember of another sibling doing to him.
"He tried to kill him, Keya,"
Leonardo continued in a firm believable voice that was also to the point of her question.
"An if it wasn't for me an Mikey over hearing some metal commotion come from the lab, Donnie wouldn't be here now."
Keya's eyes were wide in shock.
"No way..."
She whispered just, under a breath.
"He tried to strangle him, Keya."
Mikey informed not really proud of the whole thing and wished it never happened, but it did.
"When Me an Leo ran into the lab, after hearing that noise and what sounded like a struggle, we saw Raph had Donnie up against the wall by his throat effortlessly, looking pretty scary."
Keya stood there, a little stunned a moment and utterly amazed.
'Wow,'
She thought.
'I'd never have guessed that had happened, I mean he does seem to be the aggressive sort, but he also portrays a very family like aura ...'
"And well, that's why we have the brig."
Donatello concluded as he moved a little closer to Keya, getting her attention.
"Its actually helped keep him in line a good bit in fact, and he has become a little more open about his emotions than he use to be. Raph must have learned something through the whole experience, because after that, Sensei had him locked up while he sorted an arrangement with the ancient one in Japan..."
"Ancient one?"
Questioned Keya.
"One of Sensei's human friends, he's a wise old man who is of a high authority and respect."
Answered the Leader turtle. Keya nodded to the vague explanation and looked back to the genius of the group - having Donatello continue.
"Master Splinter sent Raph away for as long as it took for the Ancient one to get back in touch and announce our brother was ready to come home--"
"How long was he gone for?"
Interrupted Keya.
"Six months."
Quickly answered Mikey, having never forgot the time his brother Raphie was gone those three times he had been sent away. The answer left Keya's eyes wide and a resounded gasped escaped her, with out meaning too.
"Whoa..."
"Tell me about it... It was hell not having him around!"
Glumly mumbled the orange clad turtle, averting his eyes to his slightly shifting feet. Master Splinter cleared his throat, prompting Donatello to continue.
"Anyway, when Raph came back after the last visit there, he was different somehow. He was quiet and disorientated at first... it took him about 4 weeks to finally settle back into the flow of things here and then over time he began to regain his sprite...though he's still not been the same since."
"What happened when he was in Japan?"
Questioned Keya, completely intrigued by this tale of the red clad turtle she found somewhat attractive. Donatello shrugged.
"No one knows,"
He said in a soft tone. The purple clad turtle had tried getting him to speak of it, but he was unsuccessful. However, Splinter knew of the ordeal his son had claimed he had undergone when he was away from home at the age of 11, but simply dismissed it as a lie.
"Raph's never ever said one thing of what has gone on over there, nor has he ever brought it up in a topic of conversation."
Donatello sighed, thinking back on how timid that rebellious brother of his was when he returned all those years ago.
"One thing we all do know though, Raph had changed after going there. He was still abrupt, arrogant, easily annoyed and still got angry very quickly, but we could tell he had much better control of himself and his actions. He didn't just attack with out thinking. We tried getting him to talk and tell us about what had happened in Japan to have helped change him to how he was and is now, but he kept saying "No" and too "Keep away from the bad person". It was strange and You might say he was a little scared, even till this day I think he's still a little timid deep down, but I'd never tell him that."
"Oh"
Sounded Keya, cocking her head up in a slight nod. Donnie gently rested his hand on her shoulder.
"I know when he attacked me that time he was truly sorry for what he done,"
He praised and gave a soft shake of his head, he could see the small spark there was beginning to ignite between his brother and the young female so Donatello sought to coax Keya that Raphael was not as bad as what the story made him sound like.
"I don't hold it against him. I know it wasn't, in a way, his fault completely. He's always been a bit uncontrollable but that attack did freak me out a little though... I mean, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want to go back and relive it but I don't hold it against him neither."
Keya nodded in understanding and she thought about what he said and what the others had said too, but needless to say, she still wanted to see the spicy red clad turtle.
"I'm sorry."
She spoke, looking to Master Splinter.
"Sensei, I must go and talk to him."
Leavening the group, Leonardo swiftly snatched at her arm.
"Keya, if your going in there, I am too--"
"NO!,"
Keya snapped, the story she just heard was a little intimidating but the Raphael she saw didn't project an out right psycho and she had this feeling he would never hurt her. Not after the way he held her last night.
"Leo, no."
She coaxed more soft that time, gently lifting Leo's hand away as she smiled at him.
"Don't worry, I know what I'm walking into."
Leaving the eldest turtle, Keya walked to the door and took a deep breath. It was a kind of fearful one, but she braced herself knowing there was the possibility of sparks flying - especially, after the thing she snapped at the red clad turtle earlier. And to be honest, she felt terrible saying that to him.
"We'll be right out here if you need us, Keya!"
Offered Donnie. She looked back and nodded before opening the door and entered the Dojo room.
--
Lair, Dojo room...
Keya closed the door and turned, now standing at the top of the dojo rooms steps. The room looked almost alien to her since the last time she had saw it. It now looked as if a tornado had hit it. It was ripped apart. Keya looked to the side's of the door's - seeing Raphael's Sais still embedded there.
She struggled, but in the end, pulled them out and looked to see Raphael - who was aggressively punching and kicking a punching bag with a great deal of force, trying to release trapped pent up rage. The young female winced her eyes at how much blood was on his hands and the bag.
The way he was just hitting it, with out so much as wincing at the obvious pain he must have been in, freaked her out a little. It was as though he felt nothing at all, but she and everyone else was wrong about that. He felt everything.
Keya took a deep breath and released it with a slow sigh as she walked right into the lion's den.
"Raph, we need ta talk!"
She said firmly. Taking more control over his attack's to the bag, Raphael scowled at her.
"Oh!"
He snorted abruptly.
"SO NOW YER WANNA TALK!?!?...well, sorry Princess, I'm busy!"
His attacks only got harder after that, emphasizing, his point. Rolling her eyes, Keya folded her arms hard harshly.
"Raph, please!"
She watched a moment to see a reaction.
"I was pissed off this morning, yes, but I had reason to be!"
Still punching the bag, Raph growled.
"SORRY! Not INTERESTED!"
Keya watched him a few second's, feeling herself grow sick at the thought of losing any chance in patching this up.
'Great, he's gonna play this game. Well I'll get him to talk!'
She thought, then questioned out loud and to the point of her problem from this morning.
"Raph, Who's Mona?"
Raphael set his sights to her, instantly ceasing his actions, as he stopped the punching bag from moving. Heavily breathing, the turtle puffed.
"A girl... Why?"
"Was she human?"
Prompted Keya.
"Aww..."
Raphael rolled his eyes, having immediately caught on.
"I don't BELIEVE this!."
He snapped angrily, hitting the bag once more
"Yer know, jealously is ah very ugly trait to have, Sweetheart!"
Keya calmly opened her arm's out and raised her shoulders innocently.
"Just answer the question."
She said calmly. Raphael rubbed the back of his neck, and began in a whine of frustration.
"No, she was a mutated Lizard or some sort. I don't know, I never really found out... and if you have heard this from my brothers, yes, I was seein' 'er fer a very short time."
"How short?"
Keya pressed in her question also raising an eye brow, but Raphael merely shook his head before walking towards her in a hostile manner.
"YOU KNOW WHAT!?!?!"
He snarled, pointing his finger abruptly at her.
"You're unbelievable, yer know that? we've not been seein' each other for less than 24 hours and already yer givin' me the 3rd degree!"
Keya's eyes fluttered quickly at his choice of words and her heart never felt more alive.
"We're... We're seeing each other?"
she spoke soft, but slightly hesitantly. The turtle bit his bottom lip, almost hating himself for saying what he said. After several second,
"Gahh..."
He sighed irritably and turned his sights away from the young beauty before him. Keya felt her heart flutter as she creped a step forward, waiting for an answer.
'Now yer done it,'
Raph sighed in thought
'ya may as well follow on though... yer know ya wanna, lets just give her a chance, huh?'
He shrugged, turning his attention back to Keya with a more softer expression, he almost held a fearful one in actually wanting to give this spark he could feel between himself and this human a go.
"Now yer fucked with my head!"
He said rather abruptly, having Keya move a little closer to him.
"I just wanna know, Raph."
She whispered softly, feeling her eyes glaze with tears.
"I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm giving yer the 3rd degree--"
"WHY?!"
Grunted the red clad turtle.
"What's the point?!?! If yer not classing us as a couple, then why bother digging round, huh?"
He tuning sharply and began walking away from her with the intention of leaving the room, but in that split second Keya practically screamed.
"I DON'T WANNA LOSE YOU!"
The shrill sound was like a heavenly bliss of music to the hot headed turtle and his heart fluttered like never before. He couldn't help but stop dead and couldn't help the soft smile playing with his mouth to form upon it.
He didn't look at her, but what he wanted right now, was to scoop her up and never let her go. He hadn't been wanted like this before, who would have wanted him? He's a mutant turtle, a freak of nature just like his brother's and sensei... Right?.
"Please, Raph,"
Keya spoke again as tears trickled down her cheeks.
"I know its so early in the relationship, but I can see something in you, something I know is over looked in you."
Her tone was soft, really soft, and it made Raph shut his eyes when hearing that someone other than Mikey actually believed in him was right here talking to him and pouring out how they felt for him, no less.
"Please..."
The temperamental turtle knew what she was asking and as much as he hated talking about stuff like this, he even more so, about stuff from his past. Nevertheless, something about her was actually quite inviting and trusting to tell her things he normally wouldn't a brother, or father, or nobody, to be blunt. The red clad ninja could see something in this human, something he never thought possible to see in another, but there it was...
'Trust'
Could she be trusted?.
He sighed, still with his carapace facing her. So, eventually, Raphael slowly set his sights to her - looking over his shoulder at first and then turned himself fully when seeing she was silently crying. That nearly crippled him.
'Ooooh,... FUCK!'
He mentally snapped, overly annoyed at himself.
"Please, please Don't do that."
He said to here, just below a whisper, as he covered his eyes with his arm then let out a sighing moan and looked back to Keya.
"Look..."
he spoke, naturally gruff, but forced himself to sound as calm as possible.
"Keya... It was about 2 week's, an we split up."
"Why?"
"I don't know..."
He shrugged.
"I guess my ninja training was gettin in the way a lot and she was new to the whole mutant thing, not only that, we were eight, it's not like it was serious."
the red clad turtle snorted, offering a fraction of a smile. Silence fell and Keya had managed to calm herself enough to have her tears stop. The turtle regarded her with a questionable soft expression, feeling that perhaps making up time was in order.
"Is this what yer were pissed off about this mornin'?"
He carefully and curiously inquired. Keya answer, wiping her tear's slowly and gave a soft nod.
"Yeah, I'm sorry. And I really am sorry for what I said when I snapped at you earlier,"
She shook her head, averting her eyes to the floor in shame.
"You didn't deserve that."
Keya dropped the Sais to the floor, causing a loud tingling metal noise upon contact and finished with a small shrug of her shoulders.
"Thanks for the chat, Raph... I know you didn't have to tell me, but Thank you."
Her heart fluttered with the knowledge of that, and with all the stuff and information she has gathered about this turtle before her, she felt rather honoured that he actually answered her in a calm manner in the end. Raph just gave a small nod, folding his arms and not really sure of what else to say. Keya eyed him with a side smile before she sounded, timidly in a low whisper.
"I'll just leave you to get on with things in here."
"No ya don't!"
Quickly intervened Raph. Keya was turned instantly as she felt a hand grasp her arm and she was soon captured in that protective hold of his once more. She averted her eyes to his, after Raph had swiftly pulled her in close to him and began caressing his hand on her face, so very attentively.
"Keya, don't worry about the whole tellin' me to drop dead, I've had worse said, trust me, so lets forget about that,"
He said in a smooth calming tone.
"But, as fer the losing part. Keya, sweetheart! AIN'T NEVER GONNA HAPPEN! If you'll have me that is?"
Upon asking that, Raphael had never actually felt so scared of a woman in all his life at this very moment. With in seconds, Keya's mouth formed a most gentle smile and her eyes had glossed with tears once more.
"Yes."
She whispered softly.
"Of course I want you, Raphael."
His heart fluttered when hearing her say that, and he felt a little light headed. Raph gaze into her beautiful pools of green, and had to ask again in the sheer disbelief of what he had just heard.
"Say,"
He stammered.
"Say that again."
The young woman he held so tenderly in his embrace, gazed at him, showing and meaning the truth behind her words in that look alone.
"I want you, Raphael."
The turtles heart skipped several beats and his whole self was trembling inside, but on the out, he portrayed calm and stillness. However, he could not control the gaze of affection he held in his eyes at her right now. The turtle stopped his gentle caressing to her face and putting both arms around her waist, he pulled her into a tighter embrace.
"Now, there's just one more thing."
He mused in a soft breath, looking as if he was thinking on something.
"Yer see, in my life's long quest of complete.. uhmm... how should I put this to sound nicer than ... ahh fuck it,"
He laughed, allowing his emotion to get the better of him in a good way for once.
"C'mere, yer stroppy zany!"
Keya chuckled wrapping her arms around the back of his neck, having him kiss her tenderly on the lips. Their mouths touched once again in a kiss that was so full of passion it made them feel weak kneed.
"Aww, Raph!"
She sighed contently into the sign of affection. Keya's stomach was filled with butterfly's and both their heart's were fluttering with the utmost pleasure and delight! Raphael couldn't get over how good she made his name sound when she said it like that during these sessions, it just made him feel desired and full of good emotion for a change to his normal line of feelings.
The young woman broke from the kiss and forcefully pushed her turtle up against the wall this time, though he didn't mind, there was actually a twisted thrill in it all - having her try and dominate him. His hands softly stroked up and down her back - over her cloths - being rewarded with soft moan's that escape her though out the gentle nuzzling he done to her neck... He could allow her control, yes, but take it back oh-so easily.
"Raph..."
She moaned softly, kissing him again but more forcefully. The young turtle could smell her scent was getting stronger, more desiring and more arousing. There breathing was coming faster as sexual anticipation possessed them once more. Keya grabbed his upper arms and slowly tightened her grip feeling his muscles tense up as he sounded a small growl when feeling her nails dig in.
Raph pulled away from the kiss, and Keya managed to get out a sorry in between breaths. He flickered a smile to ensure her no harm had been done, but looked to were her nails had dug in. To their surprise, she had drawn blood. The temperamental turtle averted his sights to Keya, almost with a predatorily glint in his eyes.
"You're a rough one, aren't ya?"
He smirked. Keya let go of him and looked to the door as she began walking towards it stuttering.
"Sor... Sorry I'll, I'll go get a wet cloth for that."
Raphael grinned and swiftly grabbed her back into his hold,
"No,"
He said in an arousing soft growl as he nuzzled Keya's neck.
"be as rough as ya want, Sweetheart."
Keya shut her eyes, unable to hold back the gentle quiver and moan erupt from her, enjoying his seductive tone and gentle touch's.
"However Princess, need I remind ya,"
He glowed deeply, before churring and feeling Keya shiver against him again in anticipation as his touch to her roughened slightly.
"I owe you from this mornin's little table incident."
Raph licked up her neck, hearing yet another overly encouraging whimper from her. Oh god, did she taste great!
"Wanderin' hands ring ah bell?"
He questioned sarcastically as he stopped his nuzzling and looked to see her facial expression and it did not disappoint him, yet again. Keya smirked, with a rather lusty grin.
"I don't know,"
She whispered seductively against his muzzle.
"My memory's not what it use to be, perhaps you should remind me of what it was I done?"
Smiling against her lips and taking his time to capture them in a kiss, he felt her shudder in pleasure when he began to stroke his hand up her bare thigh, and under her skit.
--
Lair, Seating area...
Leonardo paced an invisible line, feeling himself anxious and a little worried for Keya - as were the others, but they didn't make it seem so obvious.
"They sure been in there a long time, dudes."
Mikey moaned, as the others agreed.
"Yes, and they've stopped shouting so I guess that's a good thing, right?"
Suggested Donatello, trying to be positive.
"Oh, God,"
Suddenly said the orange clad brother, hold a playful characteristic tone as he turned to the group with a questionable face
"You don't suppose he's killed her do ya dudes?"
"Mikey."
April gasped.
"Don't even joke about something like that."
Casey stretched, and sighed, before relaxing himself.
"Yeah well,"
He said heading to the Dojo room door and calling back over his shoulder.
"If Miss ray of sunshine can go in there, I'm goin' in there too!"
Casey reached for the handle, but missed, as the door opened - having Keya standing in his path.
"Errr.. Hi, hi there..."
Sheepishly giggle the vigilant man, feeling a little more than embarrassed as he looked as though he was homing in on their conversation. Keya merely shook her head and shifted Casey out of the way before closing the door and giving Casey a sarcastic smile before she began walking past the group to her room to get changed.
"Keya!"
Leo shouted, shocked at her appearance.
"What happened to you? where did all that blood come from?"
Mikey gasped, remembering his joking fear.
"OH NO!! SHE KILLED HIM! Dudes!"
Keya, had stopped dead and clicked her tongue on the roof of her mouth - trying to think of a plausible answer, quickly. She hadn't realised her appearance and she had blood practically smeared all over her. 'What a day to wear a tank top!' she thought, though her eyes had widened a bit when she noticed a little blood was smeared just between her legs by her knees - leading a slight trail up from where he was reminding her of what she done to him earlier.
'Oh shit!'
She thought fearfully.
'Perhaps they won't notice, if I play it really cool!'
But suddenly, she fidgeted, pulling her skirt down ever so slightly lower to try and cover up the blood on her legs. Slowly turning around, she was looking to the floor till she could keep a straight face. After what she and the her potential lover had just got up too, it was a little hard not to go red faced.
"Umm..."
Keya looked up, regarding everyone's questioning but concerned stares and feeling a lump swell in her throat.
"Oh, ya mean this blood?"
She said, hesitantly, stalling for time while her brain worked over time in trying to think of a plausible cover up story.
"On my arms an else where...hmmm..."
Keya's words began to slow down as she was talking to prolong her attempts in finding a believable excuse.
"Well,"
she let out a quick grin before setting in to explaining what happened - but not in a straight forward manner.
"me an Raph were talking and, Err... he was punching the punching bag and his hands were all bloody and cut up at the knuckles, you know? getting out his pent up rage an stuff... 'Cuz of this morning...and ummm..."
"Keya,"
Leonardo advanced forward slowly, with a worried look, and he stopped her in mid sentence.
"you're telling us every thing bar how the blood got on your arm's and some is on your face there, not to mention yer neck."
The leader pointed out, thankfully though, not noticing her legs. Keya involuntarily raised her hand to her face when he said that she had blood there too and it only reminded her of when Raph was so beautifully caressing her cheek in their forgiveness speech to one another.
"Oh... Err..."
she smiled, with an awkward giggle.
Yeah."
Keya stammered, still stalling for time but she really had no idea what she was going to say. Suddenly, she felt the secret was out; it was going to have to be told, but she didn't want to say anything because she promised Raph she wouldn't.
"Its not ... Not my blood, its Raphael's."
"AHH, she really did kill him!"
Screeched the orange clad turtle. Keya swiftly looked to Mikey.
"What? No."
She laughed, shaking her head.
"No I didn't we err... Had a few word's and. Err... things kinder got out of control ..."
Donatello folded his arms, ridging a brow of questioned at her word's.
"What do you mean ... 'things kinder go out of Control' ... what things?"
he asked slyly, with a cock of his head. Keya continued racing in her mind of what she could say that would throw them off and have them believe her!
"We fought!"
she expelled out with an uncontrollable shaken voice. (Oh yeah sure, they'll believe that now won't they?)
"And then I went away."
Everyone's faces all went puzzled at Keya's answer and silence cloaked the room, if there had been a cricket there, they would have surly heard it just then.
"You guys had a fight?"
Clarified Mikey. not quite believing her - nor was anyone else.
"You an, Raphie-boy?"
Keya laughed, folding her arms calmly.
"Yeah...but it was a very little one. Don't worry, no one got hurt--"
"Well I wouldn't really call it a fight,"
Laughed the red clad turtle, hindering a slight bit of pain in his voice.
"It was more of ah... Scuffle."
Everyone turned to see Raphael standing by the door of the Dojo room and looking like - what they would call - a mess. His hands were blood stained and cut, his upper arms had four marks in them on each side, cut and also blood lining from them and there were small patches of blood smeared across his plastron. He basically looked as though he had just had a blood bath.
"My son! what happened?"
Gasped Master Splinter, eye wide and drinking in the side of that turtle. Raphael merely smirked adding a slight nod of head.
"Scuffle."
Was his response, and to top it off, looking the way he did just now, Raphael kindly smiled, Congratulated April and Casey on their news and went back in the Dojo room - calmly shutting the door. There was silence for several moment before Keya shrugged, innocently.
"Ya see?... Okay, I'm going to go now and umm... Take a shower... Then we can all sit down and have a nice long talk and maybe watch a film?"
She suggested in her feeble attempt of changing the subject and Mikey, was all to happy to obey to that as he jumped up in excitement.
"AHH YEAH! Great call Dudette! Yes, I can't wait! I'm picking film!"
He called, scurrying over to the DVD's. Keya giggled at the young turtles response while backing into her bedroom. Oh how she loved that plucky turtle, he was so easy to manipulate. She grabbed a sleeveless green turtle neck sweater, black trousers, underwear and a towel, before she headed for the showers.
"Is something troubling you, my son?"
The leader turtle regarded his Master after rejoining the group with a strange look on his face.
"No, sorry Master Splinter,"
He shook his head in uncertainty.
"I was just thinking about something, that's all."
Splinter nodded,
"I see that Leonardo, is it some thing you wish to share?"
Leo sighed in thought a brief moment before emitting the slightest,
"No."
But he sounded unsure.
"Well I don't know, it's like the same thing happened yesterday... well last night, I should say."
"What ya mean, bro?"
Mikey questioned, giving his leader brother a look of interest from over by the DVD's.
"Well, when Keya and Raph kicked off last night they were sent to talk things out. They went snarling and screaming at each other, then the second the door closed, it went silent. About 20 minutes went by and we barely heard a word, that's when you sent me to see if every thing was alright Master Splinter... when I got there, it seemed all awkward and quiet but Raph was pretty much the same old obnoxious jerk he normally is."
"Leonardo!"
Splinter warned a second time about his eldest letting his tongue loose. Leo paused with an apology but later continued .
"I don't know, it just seems like something's not quite.."
"Just what are you saying, Leo?"
Donatello's face turned questionable as his leader declared his turmoil but Leonardo simply folded his arms and shook his head,
"I don't know what I'm saying, Donnie... That's just it--"
Splinter held his hand up to indicate silence, he was not likening how his leader son was sounding, so it was time to give him a test. As leader, he must never let his own emotions get control of him in such situations. Splinter spoke firmly, testing the waters to see if his blue clad son was in fact, jealous, of his brothers possible and potential happiness.
"Leonardo, their behaviour is strange, yes; I have noticed it and I do fear the worst."
"Master Splinter, I'm not angry or any thing, its just it's weird."
Casey raised his hand, joining in the conversation.
"Err...hey, yeah, Excuse me, but what's so weird about it?"
The group looked to the vigilant friend.
"I mean, he's a guy she's a beautiful woman, it seems pretty normal ta me."
Despite the unpleasant look April was giving Casey after his little comment about Keya, Splinter stepped forward to the centre of the group and sough to put an end to the conversation for now.
"If what we suspect is true,"
He sighed.
"We will cross that bridge when it comes to it, as for now, we have a film to watch. Michelangelo, get the pop corn. Leonardo. Donatello. The drink's. Casey, put the film in and set it up!"
They all dropped the conversation and done as the elderly rat said and while the young males were running about, April and Splinter took their places of where they were sitting - Splinter took a chair of his own and April sat on the couch, waiting for Casey to join her.
The old rat had sense distorted vibes from Leonardo, and so now, his lesson had began.
The rest of the guys came in with the pop corn and drink's, then took their respectable places. They had ran out of room on the furniture, so Mikey just grabbed a cushion and sprawled out along the floor - in front of every one and the TV's.
Eventually, Raphael came out of the Dojo room with a sighing puff or two of heavy breathing.
"My son,"
Splinter turned as that got his attention.
"what have you been doing in there?"
The rebellious turtle quickly rubbed his eyes and continued to calm his breathing, looking to his family.
"Cleanin' the place up a bit."
He said, catching his breath.
"Look... first off, I wanna apologise to you Casey fer snapping at ya early and the whole Sai throwing thing... I'm, I'm sorry!"
Casey waved his hand lazily and laughed.
"Hey its cool man, ferget it, I mean I'm kinder gettin' use to seeing ya Sais nearly killin' me anyway... Its cool buddy."
Raph felt one thing lift from his conscience. Casey was not one to hold a grudge against him, so the young tempered turtle was grateful for that, he could really do with keeping a friend like Casey. That human had helped him out many a time, just as he had for him. He was like the other big brother he never had, (The Kool One). Not long after that, the Sai wielding turtle set his sights to his brothers.
"Guy's, I also wanna apologize for the things I said to you early, I don't know what I was thinking"
Raph admitted as he rubbed his head slightly, looking somewhat?...shameful.
"It's just...Well, I don't know, I guess I just said it for the sake of saying it..."
"It's okay Raph,"
Reassured the pacifist of the team.
"We know you didn't mean it--"
"No, Donnie."
Interrupted the troublesome turtle, holding out one hand abruptly at his brother.
"It's not okay, it ain't something ya can just shrug off this time, alright?"
The whole group eyed the turtle before them, was this Raphael? Splinter found a proud smile forming on his face seeing his temperamental son taking responsibility for his actions.
"Listen Bro's,"
Raph took in a silent breath.
"Ya not ninja wash outs."
His tone was gruff but calm as he spoke, his voice was naturally harsh sounding anyway but he had never sounded so calmly when apologizing before. The 3 brothers could feel he was actually serious and was truly sorry but it scared them a bit, to be honest.
"If any thing, I guess I'm the one that lets the team down,"
Raphael admitted, knowing he sounded possibly pathetic but deep down he knew it was true even though he didn't mean to be so reckless. The red clad turtle mainly regarded his leader brother on what he had to say next.
"Leo, you were right, I wasn't paying attention to my surrounding's that night at the bar and well, if it wasn't for you guy's I'd be dead by now so ... I'm... I'm Sorry bro's."
Leonardo looked to Splinter - before getting up, and closing the brief distance between his brother Raphael and himself. The two stood there a second, regarded each other and feeling that secret rekindle ignite there for a brief moment.
'To hell with it!'
Thought Leo, and not a second later, pulled his little brother into a hug.
"Listen Raph, we know your sorry and I'm very sorry for what I said. I shouldn't throw stuff like that back at you, and don't think crazy stuff like letting us down, your just as important to this team as Donnie, Mikey and myself. Trust me bro, on that one! This team would be nothing with out us all being together, as a four! As Brothers! And as a family!"
Raphael, still a little taken by the hug, quickly got over it and shook his head as a big cheesy grin came to his face and he couldn't resist sarcastically mumbling so only Leo could hear.
"Yer still ah Sapo-Queen!"
The older turtle laughed, reaming his hold of Raph and murmuring softly.
"And you're still my little brother!"
After that intermission, Mikey and Donnie had jumped up and ran in to their other two older brothers - swiftly getting in a big brotherly hug together, while they still could. It was an ultimately rare occasion that this sort of thing was there for the taking, and so, Donnie and Mikey was going to take full advantage of it.
Keya came back to the seating area - brushing her damp hair and dressed - after the shower she took, and unavoidably had her attention attract to the brother's foursome.
"Did I miss something?"
She asked as she pointing the brush to the 4 hugging turtle's but regarding her question to either Casey, April or Splinter. Mikey had had his eyes closed the whole time hugging his brothers in contentment.
"Not really,"
He said dreamily.
"Just Leo an Raph expressing their love for one another ... oh, and the team."
"You might say its our, BUK moment."
Murmured Donnie. Seconds later, Raphael cleared his throat and began shifting his eyes awkwardly while shuffling slightly - indicating the hug was now over. The three brothers could feel his minor protest and thought it to be fair an let him go. They had had at least a minuet hug together so that was going to have to suffice for another few years, or so they thought.
Leo headed back to his seat, followed by Donnie and Mikey while Raphael had noted the green top his secretive girlfriend now had on and although she still looked utterly breathtaking and delicious, he felt a little glum about her wearing green and not red.
'I'm gonna have'ta talk to her later about that.'
He thought, with a slight smirk - remembering just how sexy and hot she looked in red.
"Come on you two,"
Casey shouted, impatiently.
"We're gonna watch the film, or what!?!?!"
Keya headed over to the group with a playful repeat of Casey's voice while Raphael sighed, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Ahh, can ya wait another 10 minuets, I kinda need a shower here... and maybe some stitches?"
He mumbled under his breath fully focused on the back of his hands as he walked off.
Keya stood by the arm of the couch, and slouched on it by Donatello. The purple clad son, with out a second of delay, dutifully got up - giving his seat to the young lady. Keya shrugged, then softly smiled and thanked him in a funny sarcastic tone of voice but at the same time, sitting down.
"Aww... thank you Donnie-wonnie, that's sooo sweet."
Donatello blushed a bit, rolling his eyes at her sarcastic coo.
"Your welcome, Keya."
He sounded softly. While Raph showered, the group made small talk. They told a few jokes and spoke about how cool it would be to have super powers... Well... Mikey did, anyway. The rest just sighed - rolling their eyes and simply groaned at the crazy suggestion the youngest of the group was making.
Keya was amazed to hear that the turtle brothers and April, had gone back in time to ancient Japan. Her new group of friends never ceased to amaze her. Finally though, Raphael came back into the seating area all clean an dandy.
"Hey, Raph,"
Donatello called to him as he passed the kitchen.
"Could you bring in two chairs from the kitchen please?"
Raphael stopped, turned around and got them with out a question or protest or a single grumble under his breath. Witnessing that, had Donnie blinking a little at that small out of character behaviour. His red clad sibling handed a chair to Donatello quite nicely in fact, and it was handed to him gently... Not thrown at him or shoved in his grasp, but given to him nicely as though he was handing Splinter the chair. Mikey turned around - regarding his temperamental brother for just a tiny bit - when Raph's attention was caught by his.
"What?"
He shrugged, before offering the youngest turtle.
"You want a chair too, Mike's?"
The orange clad ninja smiled with a soft laugh.
"No thanks Bro, I'm keeping the pop corn company down here!"
Casey picked up the remote, happy to be finally starting the film and sighed after playing the waiting game.
"Okay,"
He announced.
"Let's get this film started then, shall we!"
"What's it called?"
Questioned Raph. Mikey chuckled grimly to add a little more excitement, since the holiday of scary horror was upon them.
"The return of the living dead! Muhahahahaha..."
An hour into the film, and Raphael was sitting in the middle of Mikey and Keya. All three were sitting close to the TV's, getting sucked deeper and deeper into the film. Leo, Casey, April and Master Splinter, were not that keen on it, and Donatello, was hugging a cushion - really tensed up and on the edge.
"What...tim, time is it, Case?"
Quietly stuttered the purple clad turtle while leaning over to Casey. The vigilant human looked to his watch and whispered his response.
"It's 5 to 9, Donnie..."
Casey regarded the turtle, who was meant to be a serious butt kicking ninja, and whispered once again when seeing the terrified fear in his eyes.
"Whoa, Donnie. Chill out, it's not real."
"But it can be real..."
Donnie assure slowly, with a shaken whispering voice.
"I've seen documentaries on Zombies and how the government has messed up once before, in a small town in the middle of no where... this film is based on that!"
Suddenly! A Zombie with no skin an its muscles all torn with its body red with blood - was hiding behind a curtain as one of the film's characters pulled the curtain back and revealed it. With out hesitation, the zombie attacked the man, brutally--
"EKKK!!!"
Screamed Mikey, latching himself to Raphael's right arm, causing Raph to jolt from his tense concentration of the film and causing Keya to scream and latched herself to Raph's left arm; thus ultimately, in turn, causing Donatello to fall off his chair at the shrilling sounds of horror. The thud of the turtle hitting the floor, gained everyone's attention.
"Donnie, you okay?"
Leonardo questioned, slightly concerned for his brother. A small pause later and Donatello raised his hand, wavering gently.
"Don't mind me, just carry on watching the film... I'm good."
"Aww..."
April laughed, tapping the place by her to encourage her sweet turtle friend.
"come on Donnie, you come here and snuggle in next to me... I'll protect you."
Donnie, although highly capable of protecting himself, was in no way going to turn down an offer like that from the hot redhead!. He got up almost instantaneously and done as April said in a flash.
"HEY!"
Scowled the male human.
"Pisst, yo Casey,"
Whispered Raph, getting his slightly peeved friends attention.
"Where tryin' ta watch the film here! Can ya give it a rest!?!?"
Casey grumbled, setting his sights back to Donatello.
"Yeah, and I'm gonna watch Mister Small Dark and Green, here!"
Donatello sniggered, sticking his tongue out at Casey - knowing he was getting the better of him and if Casey did think to push his luck and attack, the pacifist would have that man on the floor so fast Casey wouldn't know what hit him. So the turtle knew he could get away with winding that man up a little. April took hold of Donnie's hand to wind up Casey all the more. It was a kind of pay back, for the sly looks he gives Keya when he thinks Aprils not looking. But April see's all, and knows all of what her man does.
Casey frowned as Donnie gave him a cheeky smile and a wiggle of his brow.
"Yeah, real smooth slick!"
Muttered the male human, getting greatly irritable. An hour and 30 minuets had gone by and all that was left to watch of the film now were the end credits. Switching the lights back on, April stretched and questioned as she relaxed.
"Well that was a good film, wasn't it guys?"
Master Splinter limped past her, shaking his head.
"No, it sickened me."
He spoke with a disappointed tone of voice.
"Not one master worrier in the entire team!"
There was a soft rumble of laughter at the Ninjutsu master rats, rant.
"Sensei,"
Snorted Leo, trying to put things a little in perspective for his father.
"It was a film about the dead coming back to life, it was a horror. You don't get ninjas and zombies in the same film."
The leader turtle tapped his mouth in thought for a second, debating on that.
"At least I don't think you do?"
"Hmm... Yes well... be that as it may, it was a low class film."
Stated Splinter. The group were fine with that, everyone was entitled to their opinion an that was Splinter's. The elderly rat regarded his human company very kindly.
"It was wonderful to have you all here to enjoy such a film, I am greatly appreciative of your company."
The elderly rat bowed to April and Casey in thanks.
"Now if you will excuse me, I must be going to bed."
"Hey wait Master Splinter,"
Casey called out in an effort of getting everyone's attention
"tomorrow night is Halloween."
Leo stretched, then relaxed.
"And you point is?"
He sighed, looking nonchalant. Casey rolled his eyes before explaining.
"Well my point is, how would ya guys and girl's fancy going to a Halloween party?"
He suggested.
"There's a big one going on in central park, there's gonna be fair ground rides, a stage set up of live rock shows and games and dance's; it'll be great, what'ch say? wanna go?"
Keya set her attention to her turtle to see if he was up for going, but paused in asking as she watched him looking at Mikey asleep on his arm. And it was not before long, that Raph began to so very gently wake his baby brother up.
The earlier conversation struck back into her head about the brig while she watched Raph so closely, having a soft smile came to her mouth at his gentleness.
"Hey, Mikey, come on bro, wake up."
His tone so very controlled and soft, and quiet, for only the orange clad turtle to hear.
"Wha.."
Mikey rubbed his eyes, mumbling a bit in his sleepy state.
"Aww, sorry guys."
He yawned, after sitting up right - no longer leaning on Raph.
"Hey Mikey, wanna go to a Halloween party tomorrow night in central park?"
Asked Donatello. Raphael stood up and helped Mikey up during the youngest giving his answer.
"Yeah sure, that sound's like fun, what do you guys say?"
The whole group all nodded in agreement and looked to Splinter for his approval. Unfortunately, being met with a little more silence than they'd of liked, Leonardo stepped forward in coaxing his Master.
"Please Master Splinter, I mean we could do with a little fun altogether an it is only one night and there will be costumes there so we won't be noticed."
"My students,"
Splinter spoke firmly after a brief debating session in his head over the matter.
"I do not approve of this. However,"
He lightly smile and eased his tone.
"I must keep in mind that although you are Mutant turtles, you are also teenagers, and are entitled to some fun once in a while. So yes, you may go... but I must place a restriction on what time you are to come home! I want you all back here by 1 o'clock, not a second later!"
The turtles and Keya bowed respectfully, pleased with such an answer and request from the old one.
"Yes, Father!"
"Yes, Master Splinter!"
Splinter returned a bow back, then entered his bedroom - silently closing the door.
"So... Keya,"
April mused, regarding the new female.
"what are you going to dress up as?"
Keya looked to everyone and felt a puzzled look marry her face.
"I don't know..."
She shrugged.
"I wasn't really planning on dressing up, I mean I normally take months to decide but now, I have less than 24 hours."
Keya stood there, curling her fingers throw her hair and thinking while looking to the ground .
"Hmm... you have given me a lot to think about."
She muttered as she walked into her bedroom with her head in thought, mumbling away to herself while she slowly closed the door. April lifted her hand up and began rubbing the back of her neck, awkwardly.
"Ooooo...kay."
She said slowly before hearing Mikey laugh.
"Ya know guys... Sometimes, I find that Dudette really weird on time's."
Everyone agreed with a nod and a mumbling sound of agreement but as for Raphael, he merely shrugged and smiled ever so slightly, before taking to his bedroom - not saying a word.
Everyone's eyes followed him as he sprung from pillar to pillar then over the rails in a beautiful performance of agility and skill, but once again, neglected the steps.
The temperamental turtle's bedroom door shut and the remnant of the team in the seating area all began thinking about the conversation they had early - involving the abrupt turtle, and Keya. Donatello could actually honestly see a difference in Raph already.
"And if it's Keya that's doing that!!!"
He praised mentally.
"Then they can carry on in doing whatever it is there doing!"
As far as the purple clad turtle was concerned, she was good for his hot headed brother.
Leo's train of thought however, was racing again about his brother trying to make a relationship work. His mind did hang in doubt as to whether or not his thoughts were true.
They were both unpredictable characters and Raphael has never really shown any interest in that kind of thing before... He preferred to be on his own, and no one to bother him. He was the anti social outcast of the team, if he wanted a mad moment of passion he'd go out and do it with out the hassle of a relationship; at least, that's what Leo thought through out the years.
The fact of the matter was, as far as Leonardo thought, Raphael was incapable of loving another. He never showed his emotions - apart from stress, anger, and hate; all bad expression's of himself.
The leader turtle shook his head, and winced his eyes as he thought such horrid things about his little brother - but deep down, what he thought, he thought it to be true. Although he does love all three of his brother very, very much, Raphael never struck him as the relationship kind, if they were ever one day, presented, with the opportunity of having a loving companion.
Casey however, was smirking in his head and cheering his turtle friend on
'You go for it Raph! that Keya's HOT!'
In the end, April and Casey broke the silence by bidding good night to everyone and left the lair. Donnie let out a yawn and said good night before going to his bedroom, and Mikey waved good night to Leo and went to his bedroom. Which just left Leonardo standing in the lair's seating area for a few seconds - thinking about the day in silence - before quietly heading to his bedroom.
