Hello! I liked writing this chapter! I wrote it at literally 1:00 AM so it is going to be a little rough around the edges. Anyways, I hope you Enjoy!

"I hear you have quite the aim." Bentley says digging into his chocolate cake.

"Yes, I do." I reply. I don't want to get too cocky, but a little bit of self praise can't hurt.

"Then why did you stay back?" Asher asks

"I can always be better." This is truth. There is always room for improvement.

"Yeah sure, because hitting the middle on the third shot isn't better." Hemma says sarcastically

"Hey, next time I might hit it on my second."

"Stormy, Stormy, Stormy, you have to learn to live a little!" Bentley says kicking his feet back. He stumbles and his chair flips. Everyone around us laughs. "I hate to say this, but he is right... Stormy." Hemma says elbowing me in the side.

"I will have plenty of time to 'live' when I am a dauntless member." The stiff raises her hand Slightly. "Excuse me, but I would like to point something out." Her voice scares me. I had forgotten she was here.

"What, Stiff." Bentley asks successfully kicking back in his chair obviously he still hasn't completed my mission for him.

"Rosie, I noticed that you were one of the last people to hit the target-" Lola walks in with a frustrated look on her face. "Hey, speak of the devil!" I interrupt

"Wait, Books was the last person to hit the target?" Bentley asks lifting up one eyebrow

"Yes?" I say with a questioning tone. Did he expect her to be really good or something? I mean she is Erudite so she should have better aim. After all a lot of math can go into aiming, but really? " Huh, I expected a lot more from her." She walks over and sits in the empty seat next to Bentley

"Hey, this seat is taken." He says

"By whom? One of your many nonexistent friends?" Lola says in a sarcastic tone

"As a matter of fact, yes." A boy says behind her. He is dark skinned and looks to be about a year older than us.

"Who are you?" Lola asks.

"Who am I? I am one of this idiot's 'nonexistent' friends." He says putting air quotes around the word nonexistent. "And I believe this is my seat. I would appreciate it if you would get up." He says moving his hands up. He stands there with his arms across his chest and his foot tapping the floor repeatedly while he waits. She starts to get an annoyed expression on her face.

"Ughh! I have better things to do then sit here with these losers anyways!"

"I am sure you do." He says sarcastically. It takes me a moment to catch on. In Candor we weren't allowed to be sarcastic because it was considered a form of lying, so I don't really catch on to that sort of humor.

"Screw you!" She mumbles storming off to go be with her friends.

"Uriah!" Bentley exclaims

"The one and only!" He says tousling Bentley's already messy hair.

"Wait, like the instructor?" Tabor asks

"Yes."

"How do you two know each other?"

"Bentley sat with my group a few months ago. For reasons I am sure he would rather not discuss." Bentley nods and Uriah continues. "One thing led to another and now we are friends!"

"So you are friends with an instructor?" Tabor says in a steady voice.

"Yes, but that only means I have to work twice as hard! He won't stop pushing me!" Bently says pushing Uriah.

"I am sorry, but would you like to end up factionless?" Uriah says in a threatening voice.

"Isn't that unfair to be friends with an instructor?" Rosie asks

"Only if I was the one doing the rankings, but i am not. So no, it does not matter." We nod our heads in agreement

"If you don't do the rankings then who does?" I ask

"The evil Eric!" He says jokingly. Only the twins and stiff laugh. The rest of us know he is being serious. Eric may not have done anything too bad yet, but we can tell when people are lying or joking and this is not one of those times. Plus I am sure Bentley has seen Eric do something. "Why not have more than one person?" I ask.

"Good question. Take that up with Max." Good to know. I do wonder why they don't have everyone help with rankings. Four and Six walk over with some other people. "Hey, Uriah, do you want to come join us?" Six asks

"For what?" He asks Four leans down and whispers something in his ear.

"Sure! That will be fun!" He says "by little bro!" He says tousling Bentley's hair one last time. "It was nice to meet you all. It is good to know Bentley has friends other than us!" He turns and leaves. "Did he call you little bro?" Asher asks laughing. This is one of the first times I have seen a legitimate smile on his face.

"Yes, he did."

"Why is that?" He asks

"He doesn't have a little brother and I don't have an older one. We basically adopted each other." I laugh at this comment, but no one else does.

"What was he talking about?" I ask

"About what?"

"He said that you would rather not talk about something. What is that something?"

"I think you heard that I would rather not talk about it." I nod, but the curiosity will get the better of me at some point.

We finished up lunch and came back to the training room. We all line up against the wall in the same order as we did this morning.

"This morning you learned how to use a gun. This afternoon you are going to learn another useful skill here in dauntless." Four says pacing back and forth. "Today we are going to be teaching you how to fight. We will teach you how to throw and block punches, how to disarm an opponent and lots more." He stops pacing in the middle and faces us. "We will be pairing off based on height and weight." Six says. Everyone looks at each other trying to figure out who they are going to be with. I know I am going to either be paired with Jax or Tabor. They are the only two that fit into my category.

They write names on the board for who will be paired with who. I look at the board:

Jax; Tabor

Four; Addy

Hemma; Lola

Matt; Asher

Rosie; Sabastian

Six; Stiff

How am I paired with Four! How? I look at him and at me. We are the same height and are both very muscular. I look at everyone after they have paired up. All the fights seem fair. Everyone is paired with someone of a similar size. "Lucky for you Today we are not actually going to be fighting." Four says to everyone "we will be going over blocks and how to hit. Separate into your groups." Everyone walks to find each other. I walk straight towards Four. "First we are going to work on blocks." He pulls my arm up so that it is covering my face. He throws a slow punch. I get it! When he starts softly punching I block him by moving my arm. Soon I am starting to predict his motions. I watch as the other initiates try this out on each other. "Everyone watch us again. Stormy, throw a punch at me." Did he just call me Stormy. Yes, yes he did. I guess Bentley was right. His nicknames do stick.

I throw a punch at him and he pushes my arm aside punching my stomach. "Always keep your guard up!" He says. Everyone starts to take turns punching. I throw a punch at him, he blocks it, and lightly hits me in the stomach. I start to get frustrated and throw one more punch at him. This time when he went to punch my stomach I blocked it! I am starting to get the basics! What are these the basics for though. Learning this can turn me either into the monster I fear or the hero I aspire to become. I start to get that feeling in my stomach again. I push the thought out of my mind like I have so many time before. I start to go over what had happened today. This usually helps me calm down. "So earlier," I say still going through the movements.

"Yes."

"You called me stormy right?"

"Yes"

"Where did you hear that?"

"It is none of your business initiate." There go walls. I am very familiar with this. Especially when I know how to set them up.

"It is though." I say punching harder. I hit his chest and I surprise myself. I can't believe it! I actually hit him. Oh God! I actually hit him. I start to break into a nervous sweat. I stare off. I can't believe I did that. He hits me in the stomach and I snap out of it. "Head out of the clouds Initiate!" He says. We get back to work. I begin to sweat more and more until it is rolling of of my forehead. My arms start to get sore, but That is a good sign. It means I am getting stronger. We stop, finally. "Everyone to a punching bag.!" He yells. Everyone wearily walks to a punching bag. He demonstrates all kinds of different punches like he did with blocks. "Get started." He says. I start with simple right and left hooks to get started. It feels better to be practicing on a bag instead of on a real person. I punch with all my strength. More of the stress, anger and anxiety that I had built up leaves my body with each punch. I look around and see that Rosie and the Stiff are using their knees and elbows. I keep with my hands. I hit the bag until we are told to stop. Heck, it took me a few seconds to stop. "Everyone get some water and take showers. Training starts same time tomorrow" he says. I don't stay behind this time. Instead I go and take a shower. The communal bathrooms were very basic. There were stalls with toilets and stalls with showers. Everything else was out in the open. I wait for a shower to open up and I go in. I turn the water on cold. Most call me crazy for liking cold showers, but If it keeps me smelling nice and feeling clean they have no right to complain. I dry off in the stall and change into clothes. I brush my hair and pull it up so that it doesn't tangle in my sleep. Sleep isn't for a Few hours, but it is nice to not have to worry about it. I walk into the dorms to see all my friends sitting on Tabor's bed talking "no, you should get a butterfly. Ooh. No! How about a rose?" Henma says enthusiastically

"Yes! A rose would be perfect!" Asher says.

"If he gets a rose I am getting a volcano!" Rosie says

"Then it is decided." Hemma says nodding.

"What's going on?" I ask

"We are getting tattoos! Do you want to join?" This is a really cool opportunity! This is like a given welcome to dauntless.

"Sure!" I say "when can we go?"

"Is anyone really hungry?" The stiff asks.

"No." We all say together.

"Let's go during dinner." We all nod. Now this just leaves me with the question of what to get. I thought about this before and I think I know.

Hahaha! I am going to make you wait to see what she gets! I am soo tired, but I tried to get it out tonight/ really early morning. I hope you liked it! Remember stay awesome, stay lucky, and peace out!
