Alexander woke up still in the very same position he was originally in and much to his surprise, Daybreaker was also awake.
"Good morning young one." she smiled receiving a drowsy groan as he tried to bury himself in her stomach again. This earned a nuzzle on his cheek. Knowing that he won't get any more sleep like this he finally laid down on his cheek to see the mare into her eyes. Her gaze was burning with nothing but affection and love and he had no fucking idea on how to react on it. That's it, this mare was officially crazy.
"So..." she started. "I best start explaining, you can ask your question afterwards." she spoke waiting for a reaction but getting none as he just kept his gaze. It looked to her that he was still tired and comfortable at the moment.
She opened her mouth and...-
"How did I land here?" he immediately asked making her sigh but keep smiling none the less. If there was one thing he more than certain has inherited then it was her stubbornness.
"Well little one, to be honest I do not know." this made him blink. "Your soul was here before I was so you should."
What the fuck? So he was here before her? And what did she mean soul?
"You said that you were in space no? Were you close to the sun by any chance?" she asked.
"I... I was blown into it I think." he answered thinking back as the space station was just beyond the gravitational pull of the sun.
"Well then young one you have your answer. Your soul was trapped in the sun."
"What? Woman you have to make sense for once!" he shouted getting frustrated at her lack of sense.
Shaking her head she soon continued.
"Do you noticed how hard it was for you to even move while being here? To breathe?"
"So you are trying to tell me that we are on...-"
"The sun yes." she interrupted.
Alexander stared at her for a few moments before laughing hysterically. Seeing her serious stare however made him silent very soon.
"Wait, you're serious? Are you high on death sticks?! This whole soul stuff doesn't exist! "
"Of course it does young one, how else was I supposed to..." she sighed knowing she was getting nowhere. "Listen little one, I have been telling you nothing but the truth ever since I first carried you in my hoofs. I found your soul inside the sun which is where we are right now."
Alexander looked around and just suddenly felt reeeeally small. "But wait... if I am trapped here how did you get here? From where are you anyway?"
Daybreaker blinked before she shook her head. "I have really forgotten to tell you about Equestria haven't I? Very well, you see Equestria is a land filled with ponies, similar to you and me. There are earth ponies who lack both horn and wings, then pegasi and unicorns."
"Uhhh...-" he started.
"EXCEPT..." she spoke showing that she doesn't wish to be interrupted again. "Me, my weaker self, my sister and my sisters shadow."
"...What."
"I will explain it to you later once your training begins."
He opened his mouth only for her to stare at him with a frown on her muzzle. Letting out a wince quickly laid down on her stomach again. Seeing this she nodded with a smile and continued.
"I was banished by my weaker self and brought here to the sun for at least a thousand years... she seems to like those punishments..." she spoke offhandedly making him tilt his head.
"Considering my immunity to heat I would most likely come out physically unscathed so the actual punishment would be the isolation, which I have to admit... severed me. Madness was slowly manifesting itself and when I thought that I might drown in it I found one last light. A soul just like me trapped inside the sun. I thought of the countless opportunities I could have with this and thought to search for a way to aid it in my escape until I realized that it might even take care of my most basic instinct. My maternal one. When I first held you in my hooves I felt like... something breaking inside me. Something that should have broken a long time ago. Ever since then I have been raising you as my own.
You were the light that shone my darkness away, brought me into a new dawn of happiness. You were and are my little Dawnbreaker." she finished smiling brightly at the colt who was more freaked out than ever.
"Hold on... how the fuck did you then turn me into... this?" he asked gesturing to his body.
This question made her pause for a moment before her horn began to sparkle. He was confused until he felt something touch his neck, slowly covering him like a blanket. Turning around he almost shat his pants... if he still carried any. Her fiery mane had moved over his body. Moving out of pure instinct he was held down by Daybreakers hoof.
"No need to be afraid Dawnbreaker, just feel it." she spoke in a soft tone and true to her word it wasn't hot the slightest but soft. REALLY soft. Alexander reached towards it pulling it closer before pushing his face into it. Hearing a quiet chuckle beside him he almost let out a growl but restrained it. It wasn't his fault that it was so nice!
"Apparently you can recognize your birthplace." she spoke making him snap out of it. Looking up he saw her reach to head with one of her hoofs before pulling at her mane. Out came a small strain of what looked like... a burning hair? What the fuck?
"All it took was a single strain of my mane to give you life." she spoke as she... gave it to him. He held it with both of his hoofs still not believing his ears. Seeing this she gave him a small nuzzle on his cheek.
"I understand that this must be overwhelming for you, but rest assured. I will be here for you, for the current millennium and many more."
Wait millennium, hold on... didn't she also say that she was banished here for a century?!
"Hold on... WHAT?! As far as I looked back horses only live for 40 years or so..." he shouted trying to stand up only for her mane to be in the way. Growling he pushed it aside to complete his 'task'. Seeing this Daybreaker quickly got up too, out of shock, he guessed.
She smirked down at him. "It's ponies young one and we are not gods for no reason, we are immortal." she reached to touch the top of his head, with him being far too stunned at her answer to react.
"You will mature until you are at the tender age of twenty five and then continue to live forever."
Alexander was quiet, his entire head empty once again. Immortal, FUCKING IMMORTAL. How many people back at his home would rip their heads off for this achievement which he got thrown at with.
"Well then, I suppose now that we-..."
"Hold on, you said that I was inside the sun, is this Equestria orbiting it right now?" he asked making her blink.
Sighing he simplified "Is the star that Equestria is rotating around this one or another?"
Finally understanding she answered "It is."
Alexander was left deep in thought. What the fuck happened to earth?
"And there are no other races except horses right?"
"Ponies." she corrected. "There are other races on Equestria such as griffons, minotaurs..."
"But humans?" he asked trying to get to the point. Letting out a frustrated sigh at the impatient colt she shook her head.
"Humans? Why do yo... oh, this must have been race no?" she asked but not waiting for an answer. "No there hasn't been any in equestrian history."
Alexander grunted and slammed his hoof against the fiery surface they were standing on.
"However-"
He looked up at her again.
"My father often told me the stories of one of our ancestors. An alicorn called Lauren Faust found a star with planets suitable for living but the fireball was slowly dying. She rekindled it before building a new home for her to rest in and watch over. Before she did however she created ponies, minotaurs and many other races to walk the ground she had created. This land was named Equestria." she finished.
"Wait... how old did you say I was again?"
She was silent before her horn lit up. He at first stepped back as she lowered herself to his size but stopped. If she didn't want to harm him before why should she now?
"I... I can tell that it was before Equestria was created so at least... 10 billion years."
Alexander blinked. That was a HUUUUUUUGE timeline he skipped.
'So that means I am 10 billion years late for dinner.' he chuckled dryly. Daybreaker looked at him oddly. That was when his eyes snapped open.
"Wait... 10 billion years?!" he slammed on his back. "No wonder the fucking earth wasn't there anymore!" Seeing him react like that triggered the maternal instinct of the mare once again as she quickly scooped down and laid him on her stomach again.
"No fucking wonder." he began to hyperventilate... yeah um you didn't forget that there was still no oxygen around here right? His body didn't seem to care for that at this moment as his brain was far too occupied by going into liquid status... oh wait its already liquid now going for gas... aaaaaaaaaaand here we are going for plasma.
"Little one you must calm yourself, what is the matter?" Daybreaker asked feeling worried.
"Whats the matter?" he asked shaking more and more. "The matter is that my fucking planet first got swallowed up then got blasted in a SUPERNOVA!" he whimpered. His home was gone, the place he used to life in his...
His eyes suddenly widened.
"Sebastian..." he whispered.
His brother, his little Sebastian was gone. That thought alone destroyed the damn which kept all of his emotions together until now and he broke down in tears. Daybreakers maternal instinct now kicked up to infinite levels as she tried to calm her foal down the best she could, using whatever was possible. Her soft stomach, soothing voice and whispers, her wings and finally her mane.
Alexander has never been the man to cry. Fuck nobody has ever been. Living in a terror regime made one thing clear: Only the strongest survive. If you were emotional you were dead. If you couldn't shut your mouth you were dead and if you didn't speak of the glory of Poslau once a day... you can guess what happened. His mom had done this mistake once and it had shown enough, in the public execution of hers along with others. He had to see her getting shot while she standing in a line with others. She was not even worth the bullet to the regime.
"Dawnbreaker." he heard a voice distantly speaking. Alexander knew it was the mares and felt her attempts to comfort him. Never in his wildest dreams would he have thought to end up like this. Perhaps his mom was right, one day he would be in the arms of a woman, she probably didn't picture it like this. A bittersweet smile graced his lips.
"Dawnbreaker." she spoke again. What would his mom say if she saw him like this? In a way he already heard her voice.
"Life is short and don't let anybody try to keep you from enjoying it."
When he first heard it he didn't realize how radical she actually meant it, but he none the less admired it. She knew what was going to happen and she didn't break even when brought before the wall she would eventually be shot at.
"Don't let my death or any other keep you from living."
Perhaps she saw this coming and tried to prepare him and his brother.
"Dawnbreaker." this time he broke out of his train of thoughts by the pure desperation in her voice. Her eyes were now teary too as he desperately nuzzled him. "Look at me, look at your mother."
Mother, he felt his instincts gnawing at his mind upon hearing it again. He always ignored it before but now he couldn't in the context with the thoughts from before. Would his mom want him to keep living even here? Like this? Having a new mother and perhaps a new family? He had to admit that no matter how much he struggled against the nuzzles and snuggles the last few... whatever he kind of enjoyed it. Yes burn him at a stake he didn't care anymore. Perhaps this was a new start for him and later he might get to Equestria... a world without death and oppression.
He stared up to Daybreaker who finally managed to get the slightest reaction out of him.
"Dawnbreaker?" she asked her voice heavy.
Alexa...
…
…
…
He hugged her.
Daybreakers eyes widened before nuzzling him and wrapping everything she had around him.
"My poor little Dawnbreaker. Do not worry now, mother is here for you."
The young stallion woke up feeling even more tired than before he went to sleep. Must have been his 'bed'. Looking down he saw the mare snoozing once again. He at first tried to pull away only for him to notice that he still had his hoofs wrapped around her.
Letting go he got off Daybreaker who almost immediately tried to reach for him. 'Guess she didn't lie about her maternal instinct.' he noted. She kept reaching until she grabbed a... hoofful? of mane wrapping it up to a ball and pressing it once again against her.
Walking back he laid down thinking on the events of yesterday and at his... moment of weakness. He almost snorted at the thought. 'Weakness' he was crying like a little girl and snuggled into the comfort of... her.
As this thought crossed his mind he turned to the mare who was beginning to get unruly. Apparently someone had noticed that he had escaped.
'Is... is this right?' he asked himself noting that there was a certain... desire to return into her hoofs. His resistance was slowly breaking now. What other option did he have? He was trapped along with her on a star for what a very long time. At least this way it might go faster. Taking a deep breath he finally made his decision. If some divine thing had graced him with this life he might as well accept it.
"Dawnbreaker?!" he heard her speaking. Turning to her he expected her to smile at him as warmly as yesterday only that she didn't. Her face was filled with pure shock and fear. He blinked at what could do thi...-
As he turned his hand he saw a giant purple portal with some sort of golden claw slowly reaching to him. His head slowly turned to the front again.
…
…
…
oh...
…
…
…
"SCHEIßE!" he shouted as he tried to jump forward only to be grabbed by this thing. Daybreaker didn't waste any second as she jumped up and leapt to him faster than anything he had ever seen before. Her hoofs were stretched forward while he was pulled back into the portal with immense power. In almost no second he was back in the portal as the view of the mare became more and more purplish. The only thing he could still hear was her heartbreaking scream.
"DAWNBREAKER!"
…
…
…
Suddenly she was gone. His hoof who he hadn't noticed which had also reached to her now facing a wall of purple. Turning back he still saw the golden claw taking a hold of him. Growling he reached with his hoof trying to pray it off him.
He legit felt scared for now, his heart pumping like a maniac. Scratch what he said before he desperately wanted to get back to Daybreaker now! Finally three of the claws had been ripped off his coat. Using all of his force he kicked the remaining claw back as it suddenly dissolved. Problem? Well apparently it was stabilizing him before and now he was spinning like crazy... Does this remind you of a certain situation?
Suddenly he heard loud hissing as he slowly became colder and colder.
'What is this hissing?! Wait... hissing in space?! That wouldn't make sense. That was when he felt something literally yank him into an direction out of the portal. The once purple surroundings suddenly turned yellow, orange and red. He felt like he was falling straight into hell. Squinting his eyes as the wind was blinding him he focused his entire sight to the ground only to notice something... there was something green bellow him and it was getting closer VERY quickly.
"OH SHI-"
BAM
