When Dawnbreaker woke up, he was ready to go back to sleep again. His body had barely recovered from whatever happened yesterday. Looking around he grumbled.
"Whoever made this room surely liked orange."
"Actually the room is pure white young one." he heard his second contestant for the most annoying voice of the year. "Your bubble isn't transparent, and the heat causes it to appear more orange."
He turned to the multicolored ughhhh 'pony' looking through a book. "Heat?" he asked making the mare fold her book.
"Your body is adapted to stay inside the sun, I do not know how much your... mother has told you of this world but it doesn't nearly get as much as heat as your former home."
Dawnbreaker grumbled at this information, as he let out a low sigh.
"When can I go back?" he asked making the mares eyes widen.
"Why would you... listen young one, whoever you believe Daybreaker to be, she is it not. She is..."
"I don't give two shits what you think about her... I just want to get close to her again." he muttered making the mares expression soften.
"I... I understand, however even if I wished to, I could not return you back to the sun."
"What?!" he practically shouted. Don't tell him he was once again stuck on some foreign planet/region.
"Calm yourself young one, like I said I can not return you back to the sun."
"Wha...why just send me the same way back!" he stood up glaring at the mare who none the less kept calm.
"It is not that easy young one, taking you from the sun itself already presented a very large risk of bringing back Daybreaker."
Sighing in defeat he laid flat on his stomach. "You guys really don't like her do you?"
She opened her mouth
"Rhetorical question."
Only to shut it again.
"And what do you then plan to do with me? Your sister looked ready to kill me."
Celestia almost looked offended. "Young one that was merely the slight... disrespect for our title, however she has long recovered from this. I admit there are certain voices who would... prefer your death, word has gotten around and there are few who wish for you to stay."
"Yeah telling the ponies that the son of their arch enemy is back is a great idea." he spoke sarcastically.
"We didn't, if you hadn't struggled against the grip of our portal you would have been brought back in all secrecy. However, due to your fight against us you flew off course into a forest near a village creating a rather large crater."
"... fucking great so I am dead. Do I get to decide how I die? Lets see... burned alive? Good luck creating more heat than the sun, guillotine? Never liked the french... shot on the wall? Brings back bad memories... ah I know how about a stoning? Then the mob has something to do too!" he spoke the mares eyes getting wider and wider.
"By the sun how are you thinking of these disturbing thoughts?"
"Being born in a dark times brings those." he said leaving the mare quiet for a moment.
"So she has not even stopped at your innocence then, more than likely preparing to use you as a mere weapon."
Knowing immediately who she was talking about he glared at her but decided to conserve his strength... for now at least.
"So, what do you plan to do with me then? Keep me locked in here for the rest of eternity?"
Celestia shook her head. "No, I will give you the freedom to walk around the royal palace."
He blinked. "The what now?"
The mare let out a sigh, before her horn lit up. Staring in confusion the colt noticed something... this weird shield was moving, looking back he noticed how it was getting smaller and smaller until it seemed to cover his legs, slowly trailing upwards. It trailed closer to his eyes as he automatically shut them for a moment. Then he still saw the world in orange but was still able to move. Reaching up he tapped his hoof against his chest, both of which felt numb from the impact.
"What the fu..."
"I simply made the shield of yours cover your body, feel free to walk to the door." she spoke picking up the book she had been reading.
He did as he was told and moved over before reaching to the doorknob.
Snap
Eyes widened as he suddenly held the entire knob in his hoofs he stared at the mare flipping through her pages.
"Interesting." she said quietly before shutting it again before smiling slightly. "I would advice that I should open doors for now."
Taking a step back he let her lead him through the halls. It was obvious that they were decorated but to him everything still looked orange in different shades. On the way he noticed something else, several stallions just slightly bigger than him stood in what looked like plate armor armed with spears and swords.
"So much for my hopes on trying to built a ship myself..." he muttered getting the attention of Celestia who turned around as she stopped near a door. Opening it it revealed a large library with several stone tables and glasses of all sorts filled with god knows what.
"Twilight, our guest is here."
'That is one way to put it.' he thought.
"Twili..." Celestia stopped as they both gazed at the mare in question sleeping on top of a book, a trail of drool dropping to the ground.
"Ew..." Dawnbreaker spoke out loudly as Celestia merely used her magic to put a blanket over her.
"Very well, I will do it myself then." she spoke with a small grin as he mentioned to one of the stone tables. Taking out another book from the stock she continued.
"I will need to know more about your time on the sun."
"Thousand times better than here." was his instant response making the mare sigh before her patience was starting to break.
"Listen young one, if it wasn't for my sister and myself you would most likely be... under very unfortunate circumstances so I would suggest for you to listen." with that done she began to read.
"You act like you are some sort of president or something." he muttered as the mares concentration broke. She opened her mouth only to sigh deeply. "I can not believe that I have forgotten to tell you of our rank in the kingdom." straightening herself she spoke.
"Both me and my sister are the princesses of Equestria."
"And I am Jangles the Moon Monkey."
Snap
Celestias hoof had gripped itself so strong as the pen she held in her hoof had broken under the pressure.
"Calm yourself Celestia, just act like he is one of the nobles..." she muttered fetching a new one.
"We should continue, now your age was ten no? You seem to be a lot bigger than a pony at your age."
"Has to be in the DNA."
"Has your... mother ever talked about your father?" she asked trying to find out where a colt could fit into this.
"Nope." he spoke out truly... "I was materialized out of thin air."... at first
Blinking the mare wrote that down into the book. 'Damn she actually believed that.'
"Finally how would you like to describe your time at the sun."
"It was just me and a thousand guinea pigs... they turned carnivorous."
Slam
Dawnbreaker couldn't contain his slightly childish giggle at the mare who slammed her head against the desk.
