"And I can't fight this feeling any more; I've forgotten what I started fighting for " The song Can't Fight This Feeling blared out of El's stereo filling her room with the sound of music.
And kissing.
If there was a heaven Mike was convinced he was there. In front of him was, in his mind, the most beautiful girl, kissing him. Never in Mike's wildest dreams would he have imagined he would ever have a girlfriend. Let alone someone as loving and kind as El was.
As if high on a drug, El tangled both of her hands into Mike's mound of hair. Running her fingers through it she loved how soft it felt. "Mike...I love your hair. So perfect." She said in between kisses.
Suddenly there was a knock on El's bedroom. Mike immediately groaned. Hopper. Again. He was constantly interrupting their make out sessions much to Mike's annoyance. He had even made up a stupid rule where El had to keep her door open three inches so Hopper could "keep an eye" on them whenever Mike would visit. What is his problem? We're just kissing Mike thought.
"Yes?" El asked softly.
"Can I talk to you guys a sec?" Hopper voice called out.
"Is he serious?"Mike whispered to El as the pair separated from each other to give the impression that they hadn't actually been making out for the past hour And a half.
El struggled and with a flick of her head unlocked the door to let Hopper enter.
As the Police Chief walked in Mike noticed he looked...almost nervous. Uncomfortable. Hopper moved to sit in front of the teens before turning off El'sstereo which had still been going.
A long uncomfortable silence now filled the room as Hopper stared at Mike and El, trying to choose his words with care.
El moved from her sitting position at the front of her bed to sit right next to Mike as close as she could get almost sitting on top of his knee. Not that it bothered Mike who had grown comfortable with El's closeness and clinginess.
As Hopper started to talk about...something (Mike honestly had no ided what), Mike turned to El (who like him had no idea what Hopper was trying to say)and jokingly said with a smile, "Uh-oh I think we're in trouble."
El smiled and laughed.
Just as Hopper was explaining that they weren't actuatjy in trouble, Mike turned and whispered into El's ear, "He's going to be in trouble if he eats anymore of that salsa."
El burst out laughing.
But that had been the final straw for Hopper. Glaring at Mike, the Chief explained that actually Mike's mom had called and that she needed him home right away.
That is was something to do with Mike's grandma.
Alarmed Mike (who loved his nana) said goodbye to El and left the cabin with Hopper unaware that it would be the last time he would leave as her boyfriend.
