He's one of the good ones

Alex sat there looking at his attorney. The cops then came and handcuffed him. He went through a long process before being put in a holding cell. He was there for 2 days. 2 whole days with no contact from anyone except the cops. This is what he wanted. He didn't want his friends and loved ones to see him like this. Well his friends. He didn't have a loved one. Not anymore. He knew he could never face her again unless she wanted to talk to him. He hurt her in ways that couldn't be imagined. He was like her husband when he beat Deluca.

He deserved to be in prison. The prison guards soon went into the cell and brought Alex aboard a bus. The prison bus going to Seattle City Penitentiary. He was now officially a convict. The bus soon pulled to a stop and he was ushered out of the bus.

He was put in an orange jumpsuit. They sort of felt like scrubs except much more itchy. He was ushered to the warden's office. He sat down in one of the chairs and waited till the warden walked in. The warden sat down and looked at a file Alex was guessing was his.

"Welcome to Seattle City Penitentiary. I'm warden Stanford. Your here on assault charges and violence. You accepted a plea deal to be here for 3 years. Alex Karev is the name correct?" Stanford asked Alex. Alex then nodded. "Yes sir. I'm here because my girlfriend and I had a fight. I came home to a co-worker putting her to bed. She only had underwear on. I knew she was drunk. I thought he was taking advantage of her. So I attacked until she calmed me down."

"Correct. Now from what I have heard, you are one of the best pediatric surgeons out there." Stanford said. Alex looked sad. "I WAS one of the best pediatric surgeons in the country. But now I'm a felon." Alex said sadly. "My point is, you still can be. We have a lot of women come in here pregnant. Pediatric doctors are all we have. We don't have any surgeons. I want you to be one for us. You will have surgical privileges since you didn't break the law within medicine. The FDA approved this. You will work 7 days a week. Get lunch time the same except you won't do any extra chores. You will have a pager for emergencies. So, what do you say Alex. Will you help me, help you?" Stanford asked.

Alex was shocked. He couldn't believe Stanford got this FDA approved. "Yes sir. I would love to help. Thank you for this opportunity." Alex said, shaking his hand.

This was the start of a long road of months that Alex would endure. He was able to keep his surgical skills up and live in the prison. 2 ½ years had gone by. Meredith, Bailey, Jackson, and Richard were the only ones that came to see Alex now. Arizona had been seeing him but she moved away to New York with Sofia. Alex had really screwed up his life this time. A man walked over to Alex and Alex knew he was in trouble.
