Chapter 6

Victorie returned to Ella and the rest of the group that was excitedly talking about try-outs and how much harder this year was going to be with having O. .

Victorie followed the others up the tower to the defence against the dark arts classroom. Her stomach churned, she hated always being the negative one and the responsible one. She had managed to upset her brother, sister and cousin all in one go and wasn't even lunchtime.

In her trail of thought she bumped into someone who was taller than herself.
She heard the angry voice snap,
"Oi watch it!"
She looked up and her stomach dropped further. Of all her classmates to bump into she had to bump into Phoenix Michaelson. He narrowed his eyebrows at her as she mumbled,
"Sorry."
Phoenix folds his arm and told her,
"I hope you were warning you little brother to pay attention to the rules and not turn out like your sister."
Victorie could see Phoebe's smirk across her face from where she stood next to Ella but she was not getting involved with time.
Victorie lied,
"I was just wishing them a good first day."
Phoenix was now wearing the same smirk as his twin sister and Phoebe retorted,
"To me it seemed quite a bit of mouth your sister was giving you if you were only wishing her a good first day back. My sister would never speak to us like that."
Victorie admitted,
"Well I did tell them to keep out of trouble too."
Phoenix jumped in before Phoebe could,
"Well let's hope he listens because if your sister runs her mouth to me, I will not think twice about putting her in detention."

Before Victorie could come back with a comeback for Phoenix or Phoebe she and Phoenix were both pushed out their way Vincent Zabini. Phoenix turned around and said angrily,
"Watch who you are pushing Zabini, I am a prefect."
Zabini drawled back,
"I am a prefect too Michaelson, what are you going to do about it."
Phoenix Michaelson narrowed his eyebrows and replied,
"You have a sister who started this yeah Zabini, You don't want her in detention every weekend do you?"

The line of students had gone dead quiet to watch this argument. Vincent turned back towards Phoenix, he had turned away until he heard the threat about his sister. He raised with eyebrows with amusement. His gang of Slytherins behind him flexed their muscles ready to be called on to land a few punches if needed. Zabini spoke in a dead serous voice instead of a drawl now,
"You have two sisters at this school now. You put my sister in detention, and I'll have your sister bent over with her knickers around her ankles within a week."
Phoebe spat back,
"Dream on, I wouldn't touch you with a 10 foot wand!"
Zabini retorted,
"Did I say you?"
Phoenix shouted,
"You sick fuck, she's 11!"

Phoenix push phoebe to the side as he drew his wand and Vincent did the same. Ellabell stepped behind Victorie and most of the class stood there with their mouths ganging open.

Victorie was more than happy when Phoenix had taken his attention to someone else, but this was now going too far. She looked around no one seemed to dare to get involved. She was more then disgusted with the threats Vincent Zabini had made but couldn't stand it a moment longer Phoenix was in the wrong for threatening to get Zara Zabini in trouble but Vincent was clearly overstepped the line at his comment preferring to made vile comments about Phoenix and Phoebe's younger sister.

Victorie took a small step forward and Ellabell moaned,
"Vicky, what are you doing?"
She took a deep breath and said back,
"The right thing."
She spoke out to both of the boys and told them,
"Stop it, we are meant to use our badges for good, not to get each other family in trouble or for revenge."
Ella whispered in Victorie ear,
"stay out of this!"
Vincent snorted and replied,
"Hey Michaelson, one of your Hufflepuff sluts is trying to defend you."
Victorie put her hands on her hips, like she seen her grandmother do many times, she declared,
"If you don't put your wands down right now I'll report the pair of you to Teddy Lupin, the head boy and have both of your badges removed!"

Phoenix retorted,
"Your one to talk Weasley, your just as bad giving your family special treatment, I saw you give those bags of sweets back to your brother. I'm in two minds to weather to report you myself."
Vincent looked Victorie up and down before looking back at Phoenix and replied,
"We should make this a fair fight. Let's have a wizard duel midnight, Saturday in the small hall by the trophy room that they use for cheerleading."
Phoenix replied,
"Fine by me!"
Vincent retorted,
"Bring a second, you will need them drag you body to hospital wing by the time I'm done with you."
Vincent turned his wand on Victorie. She whimpered, not sure why she had opened her mouth after all she did not like either of them. Why should she protect either.
He spat at her,
"oi goody two shoes if you tell anyone about this I will make sure the rest of your Hogwarts education is very short!"

He walked away and pocketed his wand as the defence against the dark arts teacher opened the room and ushered everyone inside oblivious to how close they came to having brains scattered just outside their classroom.

The lessons that day were torture Vicky had not been able to pay attention all day with the incident of that morning. Phoebe had kept turning around to Ellabell talking about cheerleaders try outs this year and a new diet she had decided that the cheerleaders she choose would be following a vegan diet. To Victorie it seemed Phoebe had already given her spot on the team away.

Dinner came rolling around finally. Victorie had heard the same speech from every teacher, telling them how important their O. were and there results would effect what students they took at N.E. level. Every teacher so far had given them an assignment. Any chance of any time to herself this weekend was long gone. She would struggle to find time to write to her parents with week with added prefect duties also.

She sat at the Hufflepuff table as the plates began to fill with dishes, not as many of at the welcome feast but enough variety to choose from. Victorie mouth watered as she reached out for the fried chicken. Ellabell grabbed her hand and asked,
"What are you doing? Did you not listen to a word Phoebe said earlier? We are doing a Vegan diet this year."
Victorie drew her hand back her heart sunk. She did not know what vegan diet entailed. She looked at Ella's plate and copied her. She didn't like half the thing on Ella plate but after a full day back she was starving and would eat it. She finished eating quite quickly and felt hungry still, the first free time she got would be looking up a vegan diet.

Teddy sat down on the opposite side to Victorie and grabbed for the fried chicken her mouth still watered from. She needed to start getting a hold of herself if she needed to resit all year without. Teddy asked,
"Weasley how was your first day as a prefect?"
Victorie wasn't sure how to respond. Vincent had threated her to keep her mouth shut and she would not put it past Phoenix to do the same. She managed to get the word out,
"Challenging."
Teddy chuckled and replied,
"Yeah, I heard about your run in with Dom already. She stalked past me earlier and told me the worst thing I could have done was made you a prefect however, I don't get to pick. I just get to put a few names forward. I don't think she heard me though, she was rather busy ranting."
Victorie was shocked to hear that Teddy lupin, the most popular boy in school, had put her name forward to the head teacher to be a prefect, did that mean he believed in her?.
Victorie asked,
"You out my name forward to be a perfect?"
Teddy replied with a smile creeping onto his face,
"Of course I did, I've seen you bossing the Weasley and potter children around since you were 5. It must be like second nature to you."

Phoebe cut Victorie off as she was about to protest to Teddy's joke about being bossy to the others when Phoebe protested,
"I don't think Victorie was a good choice. Her sister is one of the biggest trouble makers. A prefect shouldn't give special treatment to anyone should they Teddy/"

Phoebe Michaelson's eyes were bright and staring at Teddy with interest while a small smile was starting to show to her face, It was clear she had a thing for Teddy. He did not make eye contact with Phoebe just commented,
"I don't believe Victorie will make special treatment for family, I believe she will be firm but fair. She is more than capable for the job. Tell Phoenix I will need to speak him later to explain prefect duties in more detail."

Victoire nodded as he left the table to join the Ravenclaw tablet to check in with their prefects. Victorie had felt her heart skip a beat when Teddy had told the people listening that he believed in Victorie and that she was capable of doing the job. The way he had pushed Phoebe concerns and opinions to the side had felt a small smile on her face and a pink heat to her cheeks while Phoebe pink cheeks were accompanied with a scowl. After such a gruelling first day back to needed a comment like that to pick her up the fact it had upset Phoebe was just a bonus.
