Chapter 8

Azura carefully sipped the cup of tea that her single attendant Gunter had prepared for her. Once she had done this she placed the cup onto the small plate for a moment while she commented, "You did another wonderful job with the tea, Gunter."

The elderly knight smiled upon hearing her remark while he replied, "Thank you Lady Azura, I do my best considering that I am your only caretaker."

"Yes I am well aware of that Gunter. And truthfully I must apologize for that since I know if my Father wished it, I could have a second attendant like my other siblings. This way you would have someone who could help thus removing some of the pressure off of you." The light blue haired princess admitted, with a frown on her face.

"Yes, I will admit that it was surprising when King named Fiora as Prince Xander's second attendant, while her younger sister Felicia became Lady Camilla's attendant. This left Jakob with becoming Prince Leo's second attendant." Gunter pointed out, while he crossed his arms together. After doing this though a small smile appeared on the elderly knight's face when he added, "But perhaps one day you will be able to find someone who could prove themselves worthy of being your second caretaker."

Azura found herself wanting to protest such an idea ever happening. However. she was unable to do so due to a knock that came from the outside of her door. Hearing this prompted the knight to walk up to the door and open it which revealed her older brother Xander standing in the doorway. Seeing this caused the golden eyed young woman to smile while she asked, "Xander, what a nice surprise. I wasn't expecting you to return from the Deeprealms so soon. So does this mean you found Princess Corrin?"

This smile quickly vanished from her face however, when she saw her brother let out a tired sigh as he walked into her room and answered back, "No, I did not. In fact none of the search parties found the Hosidian Princess in any of the Deeprealms."

"Oh, I see." the white dress wearing noblewoman let out, before she took another sip of tea. After she had done this she set the teacup down again and added, "So now what do we do? If we tell Father that none of the search parties have not found her I am certain he will make us suffer greatly for failing him."

"Yes, you're right." The blonde haired prince agreed, while he sat down in a chair that was on at the other end of the table. To her surprise though she saw a smirk was on her sibling's face as he continued, "But please don't worry about Father. Because I plan on just telling him that the search parties are still looking for her."

"You would lie to our Father, Xander? I am surprised you'd do such a thing." The light blue singer commented, shock clear in her voice.

And yet again the young woman found herself being taken aback upon hearing her older brother let out a light chuckle before he remarked, "Yes, I suppose that is a surprising thing for me to do. But if I'm being honest this is the only choice I have." She then saw him place his right hand underneath his chin when he went on, "However, I am still perplexed as to why Father has been so determined to find Corrin. The only conclusion I can think of is that he wants to force Queen Matiko to remove the barrier that she placed around Hoshido. This way he could easily send in our troops and conquer Hoshido." He then closed his eyes once he had continued with, "However, I feel he has been putting too much focus on finding her along with making the mages send in swarms of Faceless to attack Hoshido from the inside. Because now I feel he should perhaps give up on conquering Hoshido. Perhaps we should be putting our time and effort on regaining the above ground parts of Nohr from the various thieves and bandits that have been running rampant for some time now."

"Yes, I agree with you, Xander. I wish Father would do this as well... However, I highly doubt he would approve of such an idea if any of us suggested it to him." The princess pointed out, followed by letting out a tired sigh of her own.

"Yes, he would most likely put either one or all of us to death if we dared suggest he give up his goal of taking over Hoshido." Xander agreed, as she saw him reopen his eyes and look over at her. He then added, "So if this is the case then he must have some other goal that we don't know about."

"Well, if this is true then what should we do?" Azura asked, while she did her best not to become worried.

"Well, that answer is simple. We will just have to wait until something comes up that either reveals Princess Corrin's real location. Or Father says or does something that proves that he does not have Nohr's best interest at heart." Xander sated, before he stood up and then walked out of room.

"Yes I agree. Because honestly that's all we can do for now..." Azura quietly said to herself, as she lifted up her teacup again and took another sip of tea. Once she had done this she then stared at her reflection from the dark liquid and mentally added, "I just hope when something does happen it won't be too late..."

Corrin wiped the small amount of sweat that was on her forehead before she put her sword away and smiled brightly and asked both Snow and Garmr, "So? How did I do this time? I have improved with using this rapier, haven't I?"

"Yes, yes! Corrin has improved a lot!" Garmr almost shouted, with a happy expression on his face.

The white furred lion cleared his throat and said, "Yes, I agree with Garmr. Perhaps not as loudly. But I must admit that you have improved greatly within a short amount of time."

"Thanks, although most of that credit I have to give to both of you." The young woman told both them, before the events of yesterday came to mind. This prompted her to look over at the anthro butler when she added, "By the way Snow, can you perhaps tell me what an App Battle is?"

After she had uttered these words though the princess saw both Snow and Garmr look at each other for a second before the lion Transient cleared his throat again and then asked, "And why may I ask are you asking me this question?"

"Well, you see these three guys came out of nowhere yesterday and challenged me to a battle. However, I remember one of them mentioning that you needed a cell phone to active it." She explained, before an image of the black furred hyena popped into her head. She then went on with, "After I told them that I couldn't do that they were about to surround me. But thankfully a black furred hyena Transient showed up and got me away from the three."

"Ah, I see. So you ran into Nyarlathotep did you?" Snow remarked, to which Corrin nodded her head up and down.

Once she had done this she then asked, "Yes I did. But who is he?"

"He is just someone who acts as a DJ along with taking jobs from all of the twenty-three guilds around Tokyo." The white furred lion explained, to which Corrin yet again nodded her in undersatnding.

"Okay, so I get that. But then why aren't I partaking in any of this?" Do you think I won't be able to help tip the scales in your favor?" Corrin asked, as a sad expression formed on her face.

She knew that this had effected both of the beastman as Garmr now also had a sad expression on his face while he told her, "No, that is not it. Corrin just doesn't understand how dangerous App Battles are."

"Yes, I agree with Garmr, my dear. This "Game" that we are partaking is by no means a game. It is more like a never ending war. And also taking into account your desire to return home. I felt it was unfair to have you become a member of our guild just to fill one of the two empty spots that we currently have." Snow explained, while he placed a hand underneath his chin.

"Oh, I see." Corrin let out, before she began to walk away.

But while she did this she heard the lion butler's voice once more as he asked, "Are you upset with me, Lady Corrin?"

Hearing this caused the young woman to turn and look at the anthros when she replied, "No, not really. I just wish you'd had told me about all of this sooner is all."

She then saw the anthro lion bow to her while he politely begged, "Then I must ask you for your forgiveness, Lady Corrin."

Seeing this though only caused the princess to shake her from side to side for a moment before she smiled at him and replied, "Please don't worry, Snow. Because honestly you did nothing wrong. So there's nothing to forgive."

A/N: Just thought I'd point out that this story is a follow up/sequel of sorts to my previous crossover story. Which is why you'll hear about some guilds missing some members. Also please let me know if there are missing words or errors in any previous or future chapters because even though this story has been done I haven't been able to catch all of them with my eyes acting up and getting blurry from time to time.
