Chapter 16
Corrin continued to look from left to right as she and Gyobu danced with each other as her nerves were on high alert after what Nyarl had told her earlier. Although the young woman failed to notice that the tanuki had been aware of this the entire time when he reassured, "There's nothing to be nervous about, Corrin."
"Huh? What? No, no I'm not nervous..." The princess lied, as she looked up at the beastman.
Once she had done this though she saw the muscle gutted anthro let out a heavy sigh before he said, "You may be trying to hide it from me. But I assure you, nothing gets past this old tanuki." Then to her surprise the beastman stopped dancing and then pulled her into a gentle embrace when he added, "But there is nothing to worry about. For I will be by your side for the remainder of the night." He then proceeded to let out a light chuckle and went on, "Although I suppose it makes sense considering we came here together to begin with."
Hearing this caused the princess's nerves to melt away as she found herself leaning into the hug for a bit while she replied, "Thank you, Gyobu. That does make me feel a bit more at ease."
"It was no problem, my dear." The tanuki reassured, as they broke the embrace and began to resume dancing.
After the music for that song had ened however, all of the lights int he ballroom were turned off expect for a few that were right underneath a small stage. Then Nyarl walked onto the stage and announced, "Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Tonight I and a young lady will be putting on a special performance for all of you tonight! We hope that you will enjoy the show!"
Once he had said this Corrin saw a light blue haired woman who was dressed in a black and blue dress with the lower part of her face being covered by a vial. And while the princess stared at the singer she heard music begin to play in the background. The princess then watched as the other woman began to dace at a fast tempo while Corrin also thought she saw the singer's pendent start to glow while water seemed to flow from her hands. She then started to feel a bit strange when the woman began to sing her song.
Embrace the dark you call a home
Gaze upon an empty, white throne
A legacy of lies,
A familiar disguise
"Huh? Why is my head starting to hurt all of a sudden?" Corrin thought to herself, as she placed her left hand onto her forehead. The pain only seemed to intensify as the song continued.
Sing with me a song of conquest and fate
The black pillar breaks beneath it's weight
Night breaks through the day, hard as a stone
Lost in thoughts all alone
"What?! After that last line of the song my head feels like it's going to explode. I-I have to get out of this room." Corrin told herself, while she placed both of her hands onto the sides of her head in pain.
Thankfully though it seemed that Gyobu had taken notice of her odd behavior as Corrin felt him place a concerned hand on her back while he asked, "Corrin, what's going on? Why do you look to be in so much pain?"
Hearing this prompted the young woman to open one of her eyes when she replied, "T-The song. I-I'm not sure how she's doing it. But I think that song is effecting my head somehow."
At first the princess did not get any verbal reply from the tanuki. Instead she found herself being carried out of the room by the beastman while he reassured her, "Don't worry, Corrin. I'll make sure we get far enough away so that whatever magic that song has won't cause you to be in pain any longer."
This caused the slivered haired young woman to smile up at him as she best she could when she let out, "Thank you, Gyobu."
But as the princess was being carried out of the ballroom neither one of them noticed that the singer had caught sight of them leaving. And as she continued to dance she thought to herself, "So it seems Nyarl was right. Corrin was in fact here. Now it's time to end the show and go after her." And while she did this Azura nodded over at Nyarl who grinned at her in response before she saw him push a button. Smoke then began to fill the stage as the princess focused the power of her pendent so that the water illusions blended in with the smoke. Once that had been done she released it when the beastman made a copy of himself who stayed behind while the real Nyarl walked up to her and the two disappeared off of the stage at the same time that the smoke and water had vanished off of the stage.
Gyobu kept Corrin close to his chest as he made his way out onto a balcony that was one of many that were lined up down the hallway the tanuki had been running down. And once they were outside he gently placed the young woman down onto a bench before he knelt down onto the stone flooring and asked, "There, I no longer hear any singing. So we must be far enough away by now."
"Y-Yeah I think the pain is starting to go away-" Corrin replied, before she cut herself off upon letting out a loud gasp.
And when he saw a dazed look on the princess's face the takuni became very concerned as he gently took a hold of both of her shoulders and shook a little and questioned, "Corrin, what's wrong?"
At first the beastman did not receive an answer from her. However, within a few seconds the anthro saw the human's red eyes begin to water before tears fall down her face. She then looked up at him and let out, "I remember. I remember why and how I ended up here in Tokyo all those years ago..."
"You do? Then please tell me what happened?" Gyobu implored, while he grabbed out a handkerchief and started to wipe away her tears.
After he had done this she cleared her throat to regain her emotions when she answered back, "My Father King Sumeragi of Hoshido was killed while he was protecting me when we went to Nohr for what was supposed to be a peace talk between him and King Garon. But that didn't happen. And after he had killed my father King Garon tried to abduct me. But that's when I got away when I saw and ran into a portal that ended up bringing me here to Tokyo."
The raccoon dog was about to say something in response to the princess's reclamation. However, someone else beat him to it when another woman's voice remarked, "I see. So that is what happened. Which explains why our search parties were unable to find you for all of these years."
After they heard this both Gyobu and Corrin looked back at the doorway to the balcony only to see that light blue haired singer along with the hyena. This however, caused the tanuki's eyes to narrow when he asked, "Who are you two?"
"The name's Nyarlathotep. But you can call me Nyarl, big boy." The hyean remarked, followed by letting out a loud laugh.
"And I am Azura, Princess of Nohr, and one of King Garon's daughters." The golden eyed woman calmly revealed, as the two walked outside.
While they did this though the tanuki saw Corrin take a step forward while she shouted, "What?! Your a child of that madman?! Don't you know that he tried to kidnap me?!"
"Yes, I am well aware of what my father did to you. However, I'm afraid he won't be satisfied until you are brought to Nohr." The other princess remarked, while she pushed some hair behind her shoulders.
"And what if I refuse to go back with you to Nohr?" The sliver haired young woman questioned, as Gyobu could see she was doing her best to stand her ground.
"I'm afraid that it doesn't matter whether you want to go to Nohr or not. For this is going to happen sooner or later." Azura coldly snapped back.
This was the last thing Gyoubu could stand to hear as he walked up to Corrin and gently moved her behind him while he told the princess of Nohr, "I'm afraid you are mistaken. For I will make sure that Corrin does not leave Tokyo."
"I see. However, I must warn you now that your words mean nothing. Corrin will be brought to Nohr. And she will be brought to my Father." the light blue haired princess shot back, before she looked over at Nyarl. Once she had done this she then added, "I am done here. Please take me back to Nohr."
"Of course, Lady Azura." Nyarl replied, while the tanuki saw the princess walk up to and then hold onto him. He then felt himself holding back a slight growl when the other Transient winked at Corrin and went on with, "I'll see you around, babe."
After that had been said both of them watched as the two disappeared within the blink of an eye. And once he was certain they were gone Gyobu turned to face the princess when he asked, "Are you going to be alright, Corrin?"
"No, honestly I can't say for certain that I will be." The princess commented, as she let out a heavy sigh. And upon doing so she continued, "But I guess I'm going to have to be if I don't want Snow to find out about this right away..."
