Chapter 19

Corrin looked out her living room window as the sky began to turn orange in color. And as she did this the young woman couldn't help but let out a heavy sigh. The reason being that she knew Princess Azura from Nohr was coming to take her back to her home country to see King Garon. However, the sliver haired princess knew that doing so would just lead to the old king possibly using her as some sort of hostage to get Hoshido to surround. Or for all she knew he had something far worse planned upon her arrival to Nohr.

And yet even more freighting then any of that was the possibility of Snow being killed if he tried to prevent her from being taken. Of course the young woman had no plans of telling him as she thought to herself, "I hope I never have to tell Snow that people from Nohr are coming to take me back to their kingdom. I've already lost one Father, and I refuse to lose the one person who has been the closest thing to a Father to me."

However, the young woman wasn't necessarily worried since the white furred lion was rarely home now a days. And she hadn't seen much of Garmr due to him being the guard dog for the Berserkers underground arena. Which she completely understood, although she had to admit that she did enjoy playing with the dog beastman, even if he wanted to play games that a normal dog would play. And every time they did this the young woman always saw a happy smile on his face when they were finished. And so she couldn't bear to lose the anthro dog either since she thought of him as a good friend.

And lastly the princess's thoughts began to move to Gyobu. Whom she had enjoyed dancing with him at the party a few nights ago. However, after the encounter with Princess Azura of Nohr and Nyarl, she hadn't seen him lately. Although she knew that this most likely had to due with him partaking in something involving his own guild which was completely understandable. And honestly perhaps it was for the best since she felt that she still had to figure out her feelings for him. And even though she knew that he was older then he appeared she meant what she had told him that day of the party.

And yet this caused her to sigh once more as he said out loud to herslef, "Although even if I do have feelings for him, who's to say that he feels the same way about me. Because for I know his just been acting like a gentleman and nothing more." But before she could dwell on her outward thoughts there was a knock on the front door. This caused her to get up out of the sofa she had been sitting on while she wondered, "Huh? I wonder who that could be?"

After saying this the young woman opened the front door to which upon doing so she was hugged by one of the three small tanukis while one was on top of Gyobu's shoulder and waved at her, and the other just smiled at her from over his shoulder as he stood behind the Transient's muscled left leg. And while Corrin regained her balance with a surprised look on her face the beastman explained, "My apologizes for intruding on you like this, Corrin. But after I and some of my guild members had finished an App Battle the little ones kept on saying that they wished to see you again."

"Awe, that's so sweet of you little guys to be thinking of me. I guess I must have made quite the impression on you guys during our day on the beach huh?" Corrin replied, now with a smile on her face.

After she had said this she saw the one small tanuki who had hugged her pull away with a big grin on his face as he told her, "Yeah, it was fun!" And to add on to this the small tanuki who was on Gyobu's shoulder went on, "A-And we were wondering if you'd like to go to the park with us?"

"Oh, the park huh? Sure, I don't see why not." The young woman replied, before she walked into the house to grab her purse. And upon doing so she made sure to lock the front door and put away the key. After doing this she smile at the founr takunis and continued, "There. Now we're good to go."

"You heard her, little ones. So let's head to the park before it gets dark." The muscled gutted anthro told the little tanukis, to which they nodded their heads in both understanding and excitement.

Gyobu sat down onto a nearby bench as he watched Corrin run around with the three youngest members of his kin. And as he watched them the tanuki thought back on the party last night and how the young woman's eyes seemed to have a shine to them while they danced together. However along with this he also remembered their encounter with a princess from the enemy kingdom to Corrin's homeland. This caused him to ball his hands into fists for a moment as he told himself, "I must try to prevent her from being taken away from here. Perhaps it might work if..."

"Hey, is everything alright, Gyobu? You look to be pretty deep in thought there." The human woman commented, as she approached him, which caused him to break away from his thoughts. And once she sat down next to him he heard her let out a sigh before she continued, "Phew, those little guys sure do have a lot of energy."

Hearing this caused him to let out a chuckle while he responded back, "Yes, they certainly do. However, I must thank you for taking the time to join us this evening."

"Well of course. Besides I enjoy spending time with you and your kin." The princess reassured him, before a sad expression formed on her face. Once that happened she went on, "And besides it's best I enjoy my time here while I can."

Seeing this prompted the tanuki to place a hand onto her right shoulder as he asked, "You are saying this due to what the Princess of Nohr told us, correct?" To this she nodded her head answering his question. And after she had done this he added with curiosity, "So, have you told Snow, or any of the other members of the Berserker guild about this?"

"No, I haven't. And I don't really want to since I've already lost my real Father. And if I lost Snow I don't know how well I would handle it." The slivered haired noblewoman confessed, while he saw a few tears begin to form in her red eyes. However, she quickly wiped them away and added, "So I'm going to try and take care of this problem on my own."

"Are you sure you want to do that? Because all you need do is ask, and I along with my kin and guild members will fight on your behalf." Gyobu suggested, to which he saw her look up at him.

"That's sweet of you to offer, Gyobu. But if I were to lose you...I..." Corrin said, before she trailed off.

However, the large tanuki knew what she was going to say as he reassured her, "I understand. But promise me that if you ever need anything that you'll come to me. For I would do anything for you, my princess."

"Oh, um thank you, Gyobu. I-I'll be sure to keep that in mind." The young woman let out, while a light blush spread across her face.

Seeing this caused the beastman to want to say something about it. Although before he oculd the three small tanukis ran up to them and said, "Come on, play with us."

"Alright little ones, we'll be right there." The anthro raccoon dog told them, followed by letting a chuckle. He then extended a hand to the princess when he continued, "Well what do you say, Corrin. Shall we join the little ones in their fun?"

"Yes, of course." Corrin replied, now with a smile back on her face as she placed her hand into his.
