Alexander Grin owns the girl, who runs on waves.

. . .

It was 1 year after the final battle at Hogwarts.

. . .

It was 1 hour after the real identity of the girl-who-believes-in-nargles was revealed.

She sat on the shore of the Great Lake together with her not-a-boyfriend best friend.

"So," said Neville, "all these years you ..."

"Guilty as charged" quietly said Luna without a trace of guilt in her voice, "I should have left after You-Know-Who was killed. My help was not really needed here anymore. I should have said goodbye and go help other people."

"Luna," said Neville "You don't have to force yourself to help people if you don't really want to."

"You don't make any sense," replied Luna "no, it all came out wrong way; let me think how to explain".

They sat quietly for a while, watching the waves and listening to the gulls.

"You got it backward, Neville," finally said Luna "I don't force myself to help people. If I decided not to help them then I would have to force myself. See?"

Neville scratched his head and said "Is it some kind of price you had to pay for your ... ability?"

"No idea." came cheerful reply "When I ran to my island first time it was just like I felt that it's right thing to do. Remember, two years ago we took Felix Felicis? And after that it was like something was telling you: 'You'd better run this way!', 'Danger from the left!' and so on. That's a beautiful feeling, remember? That's how I felt on my first Run. And since then it's always so."

Short silence followed.

"I've thought about us." said Neville, "I mean there is this two hundred something age difference, you know ..."

"Don't apologize", interrupted Luna, "It's OK, I understand, No offense ..."

"I mean" continued Neville in the most innocent tone he could manage "I don't care."; then he became serious and added firmly "I still want to be with you. Really."

"Oh," said Luna, pretending to be surprised, "since when you became so mischievous?"

Neville said nothing, turned his head to look at Luna and sat still, waiting.

Luna sighed and said in her kind, but no-nonsense manner: "How can we be together? We cannot both Run, can we?"

Neville bit his lip, looked at the water and said thoughtfully: "Can't we, really?"

And he stood up and walked down and stepped on the surface of the lake...
