Chapter 24

Nyarl sat down in front of a piano as he got ready to to play while Azura stood next to him and sang just like she had done so yesterday. And even though the hyena was quite disappointed that his other selves weren't able to "have their fun" with Princess Corrin. The Transient instantly forgot about it when the young woman asked if he wanted to accompany her to the music room again. Unfortunately right when the black furred anthro was about to press some of keys on the instrument both he and the noblewoman were quite surprised when they saw Prince Xander walk into the room.

Once he had done this the beastman couldn't help but grin while he commented, "Oh look Lady Azura, your oldest brother, Prince Xander is here to grace us with his presence."

"Oh, hello Xander. Did you need something?" Azura asked, once she had turned to face ehr older brother.

The anthro hyena watched intently as the blonde haired nobleman did his best to keep his emotions in check while he answered back, "Yes, I did. In fact I wanted to speak with you about two things. The first is that when you go to retrieve Princess Corrin of Hoshido, I ask you to allow me to accompany you."

Hearing this however, caused the Transient to frown as he asked back, "Why that's awfully kind of you, Your Highness. But wasn't bringing that lovely princess back to Nohr, Lady Azura's mission?"

"I am well aware of what our Father said, beastman. However, I insist on going as I'd hate for any harm to befall my younger sister." Xander shot back, with a bit of anger in his voice.

"Awe, isn't that adorable. But you don't need to worry about your precious little sister, sire. Because if you haven't noticed she has me by her side. And if you remember right there can be more then just one of me." Nyarl boasted, as his eyes seemed to sparkle for a moment.

However, this sparkle soon faded after the prince remarked, "Yes, I do recall seeing that ability of yours. Which is even more reason for me to go with you. Because you might not know this Nyarl, but I am the strongest warrior in Nohr. And I doubt anyone in Tokyo could stand on even ground with me."

"Oh is that so? Perhaps we should test that, don't you think?" The hyena questioned, as a frown formed on his face.

"That is quite enough from both of you." Azura calmly told them both, which prompted the two men to look at the light blue haried princess. Once they had done this she added, "Thank you. Now if we could please get back on track that would be very nice. Speaking of which, I will gladly take you up on your offer to accompany I and Nyarl to Tokyo, Xander." She then let out sigh however, when she ketp going on, "However, I'm afraid I don't know when that will be since Nyarl informed me that Tokyo goes through a day and night cycle unlike here in Nohr where it remains night here for our enitre days."

"Yes, I could see how not knowing what time of day it is there would be a problem." The prince agreed, as he and Nyarl kept on glaring at each other. And while they did this he then added, "Putting that matter to the side however, there is something else that I must bring up while I am here. That being that I and my other siblings do not understand why you choice such an undefined person for your second retainer, Azura. Because if I may be frank he seems to like to act far too casual with you."

"I see. So this was the second topic you wanted to speak with me about?" The singer asked, to which Xander nodded his head. This cuased Nyarl to look over at he princess when she went on, "And now I know that Nyarl may act very different then what we are used to. But if I'm being honest I don't mind his type of attitude. In fact it makes this place much more bearable."

"Awe, thanks, babe. I knew you'd understand me and why I like to tease people." Nyarl replied, before he winked at her.

"Well, I'm afraid I don't quite understand why you do it. But if that is who you are then who am I to judge you." Azura pointed out, to which caused the hyena's oddly shaped tail sway from side to side in happiness.

"I'm afraid I'll never understand why my sister is going along with this beastman and his silly games." Xander thought to himself, before Nyarl saw the prince look at both of them. And once he ahd done so he then turned and aded, "I think I'll take my leave now. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day, sister."

"Thank you, Xander." The princess replied, before the two saw him walk out of the room.

And once he knew that the prince was gone Nyarl let out a slight scoff of annoyance as he commented, "Can you believe your older brother doesn't trust me?! I actually feel kind of hurt. Although I suppose I can't blame him..." He quickly trailed off before he moved his gaze to the golden eyed singer. And upon doing this he went on, "Although I guess he would be pretty upset if he knew about the certain suggestion I made to you, wouldn't he?"

"Yes, I can only imagine how they would react if they knew about it. However, let's cross that bridge when it is time to do so. Because right now I need you to be honest with me. Would you have any idea of when would be the best time to go and bring Princess Corrin here to Nohr?" Azura asked, which caught the hyena off guard for a moment.

"Hmm, I'm afraid I don't have the faintest idea of when would be the best chance to go and get her." Nyarl confessed, as a frown formed on his face. This did not last long though because soon after a big smile reappeared on his features when he added, "So like you said about your hidden secret from your siblings let's just wait and cross that bridge when we come to it. If that's alright with you, sweetheart."

"Very well. If it's come to taking part in a waiting game once more then so be it. I will wait until our chance shows itself. So for now let's get back to singing shall we?" The princess remarked, before a smile crossed her face.

Seeing this prompted the hyena to grin right back at her as he sat down in front of the piano when he responded back with, "Now that's what I like to hear, baby. Let's enjoy this time we have together."
