A/N: We're pretty much at the end of this story. And I won't lie I might have made these last two chapters longer then what I should have done. But I feel they both work regardless of the length of them.
Chapter 29
It had been a few hours since Gyobu had pressed the button on the pager. And as the tanuki sat on the couch and waited for Snow and whoever else he decided to bring with him the beastman still couldn't help, but would if they'd be able to save Corrin from the Nohrians. And even though he knew that his guild never really got involved with things such as this he knew that he had to get involved since she was the woman that he loved after all. And whether she decided to live in Tokyo or Hoshido did not matter to him anymore, for all that mattered was that she was safe and unharmed once everything was said and done.
Soon enough though one of the tanuki's ears twitched when he heard the door to the cabin being knocked upon it a few times. This prompted him to get up off of the couch and walk towards it. And once he had opened the door Gyobu saw Snow standing outside along with the Berserkers guard dog, Garmr. Although before the tanuki could even get one word out the white lion commented, "Well, I had assumed Corrin had pressed the button on her pager because she was in trouble. And yet you were the one to greet us at the door. So I must ask, why is that?"
"Yes, this is strange. Because Garmr smells Corrin, but Garmr also smells unfamiliar scents too." The black and green dog Transient confessed, with confused expression on his face.
Hearing this prompted the raccoon dog to let out a heavy sigh before he moved to the side and replied, "Perhaps it's best if you two came inside. Because there is something I must tell you. Although I fear it won't be very pleasant news."
Corrin hung her head in defeat as she was chained up against one of the prison cells down in the castle. And while she stood with chains cuffed to both of her wrists she let out, "I can't believe King Garon is going to have me put to death..." She then felt her eyes begin to water as she added, "Darn him! Why couldn't he have just let me live my life in Tokyo? Why has he been searching for me all of these years?!"
"I'm afraid it's because my Father has gone mad." A voice answered back, to which the princes saw the cell door being opened.
Once that happened Corrin's sadness instantly turned to anger when she saw both Princess Azura and Nyarl walk into the cell. But as she glared at them it did not seem to bother the hyena in the least as he just grinned at her and said, "Or at least that's what Lady Azura thinks is the case. Especially after what I had overheard her dear old daddy say to himself."
"And why should I believe you two! Because honestly if it hadn't of been for YOU then no one from Nohr would have found me!" The young woman shouted, with rage in voice. However, she quickly knew that getting mad wouldn't change her current situation which prompted her to calm down a little before she went on with, "Which I have to ask how did you find out that I was from Hoshido in the first place?"
This question however only seemed to make the beastman laugh after he had pointed out, "Well, that was your fault, babe. Did you really think I wasn't listening in on your private conversation with the butler of the Berserkers?" He then winked at her and continued, "So I guess you screwed yourself, sweetheart."
"Why you..." Corrin coldly muttered, as she saw Azura walk towards her.
Once she had done so Corrin was very confused when the Princess of Nohr looked down at the ground and grabbed her left arm with her right hand and said, "I know that Nohr and Hoshido are enemies. But even if that may be, you don't deserve to be put to death in front of your entire family. And if I had known that this was a part of my Father's plan. Then I assure you, I would have never asked Nyarl to take me to Tokyo on that night we met."
"I don't believe you." Corrin snapped back, while she looked away from the light blue haired young woman.
"I'm sorry to hear that. Because truthfully I sometimes wish that our two kingdoms could be allies instead of enemies. Although I'm afraid this will never happen while my Father is on the throne." The white dressed princess confessed, before Corrin saw her look over at the black furred hyena. Once she had done so she then went on, "So if you could Nyarl, please send another one of yourselves to Hoshido and tell the Royal Family of what is going to happen at the Bottomless Canyon."
"You got it, babe." The beastman replied, with a large tooth filled grin plastered on his face.
However, before he could do anything the singer told him, "But before you do that please make sure those three other beastmen get close to Hoshido like we planned."
After she had given him her request Corrin's eyes widen in shock upon seeing three Nyarls stand next to the first one. They bowed in front of the other princess and said in unison, "As you wish, Princess."
"What could Azura be planning? And why does she want to make three other beastmen get to Hoshido without any trouble? And more importantly who is she talking about? She couldn't possibly be talking about Gyobu, Snow, and Garmr is she?" Corrin wondered to herself, as the three hyenas vanished from sight.
Snow closed his eyes and released a sigh when he asked, "So you're telling me that Corrin was taken back to her own world by the Nohrians? And Nyarl assisted them in doing this?"
"Yes, I am afraid so." Gyobu let out, as he looked downat the ground in defeat.
Right when he had done this though the white lion's attention was moved to GArmr or let out a few sniffles before he "Poor Corrin. Garmr wishes we could save her."
Hearing prompted the anthro butler to lower his left hand towards the canine Transient before he gently rubbed his head and told him, "There is no need to worry, Garmr. I am certain we will find a way to save Lady Corrin. We will just have to be patient until a solution presents itself to us."
"Well then, allow us to be that solution." A voice remarked, before the three beastmen saw three Nyarls warp into the room. And once they had one of them winked at them and added, "Hey boys, did you miss us?"
Snow did his best to keep his composer in check as he stared at the three hyenas. However, within seconds the butler saw the large tanuki walk past him and towards the black furred anthros with a deadly glare on his face while he demanded, "I'm afraid that I do not feel the same way about seeing you again as you do us. Now tell us, where have you taken, Corrin?"
"Awe, is the big boy worried about his woman?" The middle Nyarl remarked, with a grin on his face. The one on the left quickly chimed in with, "Although you don't have anything to worry about. Because we assure you that she's safe...for now."
After those words had been spoken though the lion could see the raccoon dog's hand ball into fists. But before he could act Snow asked, "And what exactly do you mean by that statement?"
"Isn't it obvious? The poor thing is going to be hung soon." The hyean on the right said, as a frown formed on his features. The one on the middle though still had a grin on his face while he winked and went on, "But don't you three boys worry. Because Princess Azura has a plan. Which is why we're here." The third one then showed them a more relaxed expression when he added, "Because you see we're here to take you to Hoshido. This way not only will you be able to introduce yourselves to Corrin's family. But you'll also be able to let them know that they'll only have one last chance to reunite with her. At least until she's put to death that is."
"Corrin is going to be hung!? We...We have to save her!" Garmr shouted, with worry clear in his voice.
Hearing this caused Snow to stare at the three hyenas to see if perhaps they were lying in any way. But upon doing so he could just by looking into their eyes that they weren't joking. The Transient then knew taht they had no other as he told them, "Very well, we will give them that message. However, you must know that we will be thinking of a way to save Lady Corrin before that can happen, correct?"
"Oh, believe me, boys. That's what we and Lady Azura are hoping for." The three Nyarls said in unison. After they had said this though they mentioned the three other Transients to come over to them while they added, "Now come on over, and hold on to us closely. And before you know it we'll be in Hoshido within seconds."
Queen Mikoto stood next to her step-children as they stood in the throne room. The Royal Family was diong this because a soldier had come into the room and had informed they that there were some beastmen who wanted to speak with them. Unfortunately the messenger did not know why the creatures had shown up at the main gate. All he knew is that they said they had urgent news in regards to Princess Corrin. This prompted the raven haired queen to tell the messenger to have some of the guards escort them to the them throne room.
And within a few minutes the five nobles watched as the three beastman walked into the throne once the main doorway had been opened. And as they walked towards her and her step-children Mikoto saw one of the beastman was a white furred lion who was dressed in very nice clothing, and to his right was a black and green furred dog who had a chain around his body while wearing purple colored clothes. And finally behind him the woman saw a large tanuki walking with them who was wearing green robes along with a red cloth that was draped over his back and shoulders.
And even though she was surprised by their appearance the queen kept her composer in check as she took a few steps forward and said, "Greetings visitors, I am Mikoto, Queen of Hoshido. And these are Corrin's brothers and sisters, Ryoma, Hinoka, Takumi, and Sakura."
After telling them this Mikoto saw the lion bow once he was a few feet away from her as he greeted her with, "It is an honor to meet you, Your Majesty. My name is Snow, and I have acted as caretaker for your daughter, Princess Corrin."
Upon hearing this however, the queen allowed her emotions to take over as she let out, "My daughter is alive?" She then found herself waking up to the lion beastman before she embraced him while tears of happiness ran down her face when she added, "Thank you so much for caring for my child. I-I was so worried of what might have happened to her. Or where she had disappeared to for all of these years."
Although after hugging the anthro the queen noticed right away that this had caught the visitor off guard. But after a few seconds had passed she felt his arms wrap around as well as he replied, "You are most welcome."
And after he had told this the two released each other from their embrace. Upon doing so Queen Mikoto wiped the few stray tears from her eyes before she asked, "Oh, please forgive me. I'm afraid I let my emotions get the better of me. Although I hope Corrin was well behaved while under your care?"
"She was a proper lady." Snow reassured her with a proud smile on his face.
Once she had heard the lion say this the ruler of Hoshido quickly remembered about the other two beastmen as she told them, "Oh, please forgive me for not asking for your names as well."
To her relief the black and green furred dog just smiled at her when he replied, "That's okay. Corrin's Mother was just happy to hear that Corrin was okay." He then did a solute to her and went on, "Garmr name is Garmr, and Garmr is Corrin's friend."
"It's very nice to meet you. But I must ask why did you just say that Corrin was safe? Did something happen to her?" Mikoto questioned, as a frown formed on her face.
"Yes, I'm afraid Corrin was taken to Nohr while she was in our world of Tokyo." The tanuki explained, as he also took a few steps forward. He then did a bow just like Snow when he continued, "But do forgive me for my lack of manners. My name is Gyobu."
"What? Corrin was taken by the Nohrians?! A red haired young woman shouted, with both anger and worry in her voice.
A slivered haired young man who also had a displeased look on his face remarked, "Those monsters! Who knows what kind of torture they're putting our sister though!"
"Calm yourselves Hinoko, Takumi. For I am certain we will be able to save Corrin before any harm comes to her." A dark red haried young man stated, with determination in his voice.
Hearing such a response from her eldest stop-child caused the queen to look proudly at him for a moment as she nodded her head in agreement. However, her attention was quickly brought back to the tanki as he told them, "If you truly feel that way then I'm afraid we don't have much time to waste." After she had heard this though Mikoto noticed a very worried expression had formed on Gyobu's face when he continued, "For you see someone informed us that the princess is going to be hung over the Bottomless Canyon."
"What?! The Bottomless Canyon you say? But if that happened..." Mikoto mumbled to herself, before she looked at everyone in the throne room. And upon doing so she went on, "Alright everyone we must hurry to the Bottomless Canyon. And perhaps I can speak with King Garon and form some sort of an agreement with him to spare Corrin's life. ...I just hope it's not too late."
"Please don't worry Your Majesty. I promise to save Corrin no matter what it may cost me." The anthro tanuki reassured her, as he gave her a warm smile.
"Thank you, Gyobu. But now I am curious how do you know my daughter?" Mikoto asked, to which she saw a blush form on the takuni's face. And right when he was about to answer her question she stopped him with, "Don't worry, you don't have to say a word. For I can see the love you hold for Corrin clearly in your eyes. And that makes me so happy that she found someone who loves her."
"You are too kind, Your Majesty." The raccoon dog let out, before everyone made their way out of the throne room. But as the group headed towards the area that was in-between the two kingdoms he mentally added, "But I may have a plan that can save Corrin. I will just have to wait until the right time to put it into motion."
