In What You Believe

Marcel stood with Sofya, waiting for the witch to finish his inspection with the broken mirror in the bar.

"This guy, Dominic, you trust him?" Marcel asks, distrust lacing his voice.

"He's good for business and I give him a lot of business." Sofya whispers back to him. This does not lower his concern anymore then before.

"This spirit…is ancient." Dominic states in wonder, his eyes tracing the outline of the broken mirror. Even he could feel a certain darkness radiating off of it, "It ebbs and flows like a tide. Feeding and Sleeping."

"So it's awake…and I'm lunch." Marcel concludes, looking over at his partner. Of course, why would I catch a break, he sighs internally.

Both Dominic and Sofya turn to look at him. Sofya's eyes did not hide her worry, Dominic on the other hand was intrigued.

"Well, it want's power. You're powerful." The witch states. Looking back at the Ouroboros, he continues, "It's caught between the world of the living and wherever it was trapped."

"Was trapped?" The woman asks him.

"It broke free. Sometime ago, there must have been a mass amount of energy."

"…the ancestral realm." Marcel realized, "When Vincent blew the link, it must have set it free."

"How do we get this thing off Marcel?" Sofya demands.

Dominic purses his lips in a tight line, "Purification could work…unless it comes back, your best bet is to send this thing back to sleep. It should just be another set of power that can be channeled, sealed, blocked. These beads keep me safe, keeping any spirits from getting into my head. I could purify some for you, just until your condition gets better." He finishes, sending a pointed look to the older vampire.

Marcel nods his head in agreement, what other choice did he have left at this point? "Yeah go ahead."

"To server this spirits link, you will have to burry the beads at the root of this creatures heart."

"Well how do I do that?"

"Has it manifested itself anywhere already?" Dominic asks.

"Vincent mentioned an abandoned house. This thing lured kids there, attacked them, attacked Vincent." Marcel explains to him, the memory of the last couple of nights still fresh in his mind. The image of that random girl, that seems to have something to do with the Mikealsons also appeared. What was her name? Lena…Elena…I swear I heard them mention her before.

"Well, lets end this." Sofya interrupts his thoughts, the impatience for all this already reaching it's limit.

Klaus followed the Ghost, Spirit, Demon, whatever the hell it is, the Hollow, he thinks in distain.

"You know your way around, don't you? New Orleans Native, I take it. I wonder, you buried somewhere in the vicinity?" Klaus mocks it, doing a little spin, pointing around. "Perhaps someone disturbed your tomb, is that why you're such an angry ghost?"

The Hollow/Image of his stepfather stopped in it's place, spinning around. "You don't intend to kill Marcel, do you?" It's eyes glowing blue in annoyance. "Hmph, your father was right, you are a coward. Because of you, he's lost everyone he's ever loved. And now due to your pathetic fear of Marcel, you will suffer the same faith."

"More meaningless threats? Is that the extent of your power? I remain underwhelmed." Klaus shoots back at it, not taking anything the Hollow said to heart. It's no different then having his actual father around. After so many years, he's learned to let it fall to deaf ears.

The Hollow smirks, "You think I'm powerless?"

The next moment, Klaus felt his heart being penetrated with the sharp edge of a blade. The Image before him was nothing but a delusion, but the pain felt more real then anything at the moment. He let out a scream in pain at it pierced through. Suddenly the pain disappeared, but so did the blade and the Hollow.

"I can make you see and feel whatever I like." It appears again behind him, now walking in a circle around the hybrid.

Klaus glares at it, his face scrunching up trying to hold back his anger, "Do your worst. But I know the trust. The white oak is gone, Mikeal is dead and you are nothing more then a bad dream."

Shrugging it leans in closer to him, "Maybe I'll find my way into your…daughters dreams? What fun that would be, to be in her head."

At the threat of his daughter, Klaus swings his hand out, pushing it back to the ground.

"Ruthless. Nicely done." The Hollow praises, appearing behind him, just as Klaus quickly grabs him and snaps his neck. Appearing from another angle, it walks up to him, but Klaus quickly rips out its throat.

But it was not the dead body of the fake Mikeal that appeared before him. Three dead bodies laid before him, all innocents that had nothing to do with the quarrels of the supernatural. Klaus looked around in slight Horror, breathing heavily. How could I not sense this?

"Imagine if I had you kill someone you cared about?" It taunts again, "Maybe I already have." It laughs as Klaus turns around, seeing none other than his eldest sister, Freya, on the ground, her eyes wide open, throat ripped out.

Klaus felt his heat stop, "Oh no, no no no!" He bends down, terrified at what he had done. As the image before him shifts back to the woman he actually killed, he slowly backs away, gulping.

"Next time, it might even be Hope." Hollow declares.

"NO!" The hybrid yells, his eyes wide, for the first time, fear took a different turn. This was not something he could easily defeat…this was beyond his control. What if next time, it really was Hope, his precious daughter's throat, that he'd rip out?

"Who would stop me? Marcel? Please, I'm having my fun with him, and I will have him tear though your family like you have these people. Now I will only give you one choice, boy. Kill Marcel, or he will kill you." The Ultimatum struck something in Klaus. He did not want to acknowledge that he had no actual desire to kill Marcel, after all, the boy was of his own making. Even with all the betrayals, he still loved him, but that love had nothing against keeping his family safe, most importantly, his daughter.

Finishing the spell that Freya worked on, the totem was finally ready. Keelin watched patiently behind her friend, shaking her head, has she ever heard of a break?

"You never stop, do you? Just, every day you do a spell, vanquish some evil, do another spell, rinse and repeat." The werewolf couldn't stop herself from voicing her concern.

Freya chuckled internally, letting out in a deadpan voice,"I have hobbies. For instance, I collect the ashes of my enemies."

Keelin rolled her eyes at this, the witches humor never being quite as funny as she thought it was, "My point is that even during my most traumatic hospital rotations, I'd make time.", she was walking back and forth at this point, glancing over her shoulder, "Ten minutes, one minute, whatever I could steal, to go up to the roof, look up at the sky, and just breathe. Remind myself that there was a whole world away from the madness of the E.R."

"I'll care a lot more about that world once I know my brother's safe. Anything strange happens just wake me up, okay?" The witch tells the other woman, not giving her much of a choice.

"Okay."

Freya began her spell, repeating words Keelin has never heard in her life, although she was sure it was latin, isn't that what most witches and spells are in anyway? Kind of cliche… Her thoughts get cut off once she sees a ball of blue light glow in the totem. It just kept on growing…"This is officially strange." She mutters, watching it suspiciously. Shooting Freya a look, she sees her continuing her spell, but something seemed off about it.

"Freya?" Keelin asks her in concern, when she didn't answer, she straightened up, noticing her in a trance, "Freya! Damn it, Freya!"

Still in a trance, looking at the light, the werewolf did the only thing she could think of in that moment to snap her out of it. Shoving Freya to the ground and forcing her to stop staring at it, the spell disconnected. Keelin winced when she heard the slight bang against the wall. She would need to check the witches head, "Hey. You okay?"

Freya gasped, her eyes wide, slowly she looks over at her, "It wants Klaus and Marcel to kill each other. And when they die, it will absorb their power, and then we'll never be able to stop it."

Getting up, she immediately goes for her stuff, ready to pack and find wherever Klaus was at.

"You can't just take off!" Keelin tries to reason, looking at her like she's insane.

Turning to face her, she sends her a hard look, "That thing is forcing my brother into a sacrificial bloodbath."

Shaking her head, Keelin walked over to her, checking the back of the witches head, the wound wasn't something she should be putting off, it needed to be treated as soon as possible, "Freya, you're bleeding. You need stitches."

"It'll have to wait."

She let's out a sigh, there was no helping it, "You're not gonna do your brother any good if you have head least let me go with you, I am not useless in a fight. I can control my form."

"Hey. I can take care of myself, okay?" Freya turns to her again, giving her a small smile meant to calm her, "Trust me."

The Cathedral was quiet. Nearly too quiet as Klaus vigorously washes to blood off of his hands in the water of the fountain. Part of him wonders if there is any use in asking for forgiveness, not that he would…his sins are past asking for forgiveness, if anything, he might be struck by lightning if he so much as attempted to.

"Klaus, I was worried." Came the voice of his eldest sister behind him.

Klaus grips the sides of the fountain tightly, he hears the stone crack, "Freya, stay back."

"What's wrong?" She asks, confused, her head titling slightly to the side at his unease.

"I don't want to hurt you. But I can't trust myself." He breaths out, looking around him. If he did not get out of there right now, he might hurt his sister like what the Hollow has showed him, made him do.

Taking a step closer to him, Freya lifts her hand to his shoulder, "I trust you."

Klaus shoves her hand away from him, shouting out "I said stay back! I've underestimated our foe. The Hollow is more powerful than I thought. It made me see things and do things. I can feel it in my head."

The Hollow smirks to itself, the paranoia radiating off of this foolish beast brought joy and amusement to it. Being stuck in the unknown had really put damper in it's life. Pretending to be his sister was easy, as it faked concern and acted taken aback by his actions.

"Then let me purify you. Okay?" Lifting her hand, Hollow/Freya makes a fake attempt at a spell, knitting her eyebrows together, she drops her hands, "It's burrowed too deep. But I know what it wants."

"For me to kill Marcel. Or for him to kill me." Klaus confirms, glaring at the seats behind her.

"Klaus, if this thing is demanding a blood sacrifice, if it's you or Marcel... don't let it be you. Hunt down Marcel and end this." It doesn't take much more to convince him, the Hollow already know he would fall into it's trap like a moth to light.

"Don't follow me." Taking one last look at his sister, his hands in fists, as he turned and walked away.

Klaus did not see the smirk on his 'sisters' face, nor the blue glow of the eyes as it disappears back to another place. Thank god this only took a little away from its main occupation.

Elena sighed behind him, "You know, I did say that I didn't really have time for this."

Elijah paused in his step, turning to her halfway, "No one is keeping you…but perhaps it is in good nature for you to meet some of the people you will most likely be aquatint with in this time of uncertainty."

"You make it sound like we're at war." She states bluntly, blinking up at him. His dark hair gives off a soft shine in the sunlight as he gives her a certain smile of his,

"At this point, we may as well be."

"Yeah, I guess you're right."

"It won't be much of a war, trust me." It whispered in her ear, getting more annoyed by the second.

As soon as they started walking again, it didn't take long for them to reach Mary's cabin. Elena looked around, her uncertainty was clear on her face and she wasn't about to hide it. Glancing at one of the windows, she swore she saw an older looking woman peak out, not hiding her distain. Elena felt the hate from here, she wondered if Elijah could too.

As they turned the corner to the back porch of the cabin, they saw Hayley sitting in one of the patio chairs, reading what looked like a journal.

"Anything interesting?" Elijah asks her, peering over her shoulder.

Looking up at him, she frowns, "This is the Journal Mary's husband wrote…right up to the point where he died. Most of it's revolutionist garbage, but there's stuff in here about my parents as well."

Elijah frowns at this information, "What did he say about them?"

"That they were traitors for dealing with vampires."

"Ahh, I remember when I released a small bit of insanity into the world. It was the only entertaining thing I've seen in a while. Wanna know why I did it?" It asks her, leaning to her ear. Elena flinched, trying to ignore it.

"Because it was fun. Because her ancestors are all trash, that didn't deserve the gift I so graciously gave them. Because they where ungrateful little pathetic humans who let their fear get the best of them, and locked me up."

What? Elena thought toward it, just to see Damon/Hollow smirk down at her with dead eyes, right before it disappear. Now you decide to disappear?!

Elena purses her lips as she stares at the two of them. She wanted to speak, tell her what she just learned, but…something told her not yet as she watches them carefully, feeling a little like she shouldn't be there. In fact. she'd rather go take care of things and Elijah was right, she could leave at any point, no one was keeping her. She hated her instincts sometimes, even with being whom she was, she still had so much to learn. Elena still felt like a toddler who was learning how to walk properly, being stuck in a box for years didn't help her at all. Maybe that's what they all felt like, being daggered for centuries, she wonders for a moment.

But something was keeping her. Something almost made her wan to follow the man, as if it would lead her to some answer she was seeking.

Looking up at him, Hayley finishes, "In the end he couldn't even finish a comprehendible sentence." The smaller form behind the Vampire caught her attention and she frowns a little, "Oh…hello?"

Standing there awkwardly, Elena shifts on her feet, "Hello, I hope I'm not intruding…I can leave if you'd like?"

Shooting a glance up at Elijah from where she was sitting, she looks back at the doppelgänger, dropping her frown but not quite smiling, "It's alright, if Elijah let you come I'm sure he had a reason."

Not really paying attention to the two women, said man leaned over Hayley's shoulder, " You can see his writing deteriorate as his thoughts do."

The woman turns back to him wearing a troubled expression. Quickly she flips the pages until she stops at one, turning it to him, "Elijah, I think whatever this Hollow is, it made Mary's husband kill my parents."

Looking over to the werewolf girl and her journal, Elena felt a little bit of a dark aura around the book. Her concern grew a little more anxious.

Elijah's eyes grew wide at the image, this was indeed troubling. Elena looked between them again and stepped closer, bending over to look at the journal. The image i the journal was none other then that of a Serpent eating itself.

Doing her best to contain the shock, she reaches for the journal, "Do you mind if I…"

Hayley doesn't fight her for the journal, in fact, she just lets her take it. Something in that back of her mind told her it was alright to do so, it didn't keep the unease away. The girl…Elena helped them last night, but she knew there was no love lost between them, as her short stay in Mystic Falls comes to mind. The burnet was different though, something about her was…off…what did Kol say he felt in the graveyard….Hayley shakes her head, it'll come to her later. Right now, she just sat and watched the girl's gaze at the image, like she's seen it before…

"Do you know what it is?" The Werewolf asked her curiously, an eyebrow raised.

Tracing the drawing with slender fingers, Elena let out a sigh. Elijah did not miss the slight irritation behind the breath as he watched her fingers follow the lines gently.

"I've been seeing flashes of this image…I've drawn it in my own journal." The girl states, shocking both parties.

"When exactly…did this start?" The Original asks, trying to keep his own mind at bay. This girl before him…she's full of surprises. He wasn't sure what to think of those surprises, but would she lie to him? Uncertainty was his enemy right now.

Elena didn't move to take her eyes off of the image, the dark aura there, but it felt like it was hacked to pieces, "The drawing? About two night's ago…the visions however, about three weeks." Pausing for a moment, she admits, "It's why I came to New Orleans in the first place. It felt like it was calling me, I'm just trying to find out why."

"And you didn't mention this yesterday?" Hayley asks, her tone of accusation did not grow lost.

Sighting, Elena was about to snap the book shut and hand it back to Hayley, when a sudden…energy snapped through her body, "Ahhh," she groans out, the pain enough to bring her to her knees. Elijah was by her side in seconds catching her by the elbow.

"Elena!?" He ask's in concern, Hayley was on her feet as well, looking on in shock. The girl was gripping her head with her hands, images flashing in her mind like wildfire, Abandoned House, Klaus, Marcel, Beads, Blood, Thorne's, Darkness, Hollow.

The pain disappeared as fast as it came. Elena looks up anxiously, "Your brother is going to kill Marcel, Marcel is going to kill your brother, the Hollow is luring them, making them kill each other."

"What are you-," Elijah's shock at her statement was cut off by the ring of his phone. Pulling her up right, he grabs his phone from his pocket. Answering, "What is it?"

"You need to come back to the city right now or Marcel is going to kill Klaus." Was all Freya said. Elijah turns his stare to Elena, how had she known? The dots coming together, his eyes widen in realization, she just said she saw visions, she saw it, Freya confirmed it, we have no time left, "I'll be there as fast as I can." Snapping his phone shut.

"What? What the hell is going on?" Hayley asks, looking between the both of them suddenly. Was what she said true? Of course it is, if even Freya just said so from what she heard on the phone.

"I need to go." Elena says hurriedly, eyes slightly unfocused.

Elijah nods his head, not wanting to waste time, "We can go together, it'll be faster."

"I'll let Mary know well be going, give me a second." Hayley says, as she spins around. Elijah speeds in front of her,

"It's best you stay and make sure Hope stays safe."

"Elijah, I can help, this thing is after Hope!" She argues, her eyes show her fear.

"He's right, stay here and protect your daughter. If it killed your parents, it will kill you too." Elena interjects. The darkness she felt from the journal alone was enough to tell her Hayley would'd survive for long if a fight was engaged.

"Please Hayley, just stay here and let me know if anything happens." He silently pleads her. If something where to happen to Klaus, that little girl didn't need her mother to leave her as well. Hayley hesitates for a moment, but nods in agreement, she knew it was best to stay. She'd feel better watching over her daughter anyway.

"Lets go." Elijah tells Elena, as he walks to her.

Elena tightens her lips together, not sure if she want's to risk it, but she didn't have time to hesitate any longer, "I have a faster way to get there." She hold's out her hand, "Do you trust me enough?"

Elijah doesn't delay, putting his hand and trust in her in that moment.

None of them could even blink before there was a sudden whirlwind. Hayley stares at the now empty place in front of her.

She hears a gasp, followed by, "That was so cool!" Turning around, the werewolf sees Hope looking at the same spot in amazement. She had to agree…although that whirlwind looked exactly like what Rebekah and Kol described, that killed a bunch of vampires in seconds…that's what worried her the most.

~o~

Elena and Elijah appear right outside of the abandoned house, in time as Freya arrives as well.

Taking a peak down at their combined hands, Elijah couldn't help the smirk on his face, "That's quite convenient." He notes, his eye twitches a little when she lets go and hurries forward.

Stopping in her tracks, Elena frowns, "They're already fighting, there's a really strong barrier in there."

Elena walks right up to the abandoned home just in time to see the blond woman she assumed was Freya, as Elijah goes to stand next to her, "That was fast." The blonde notes, glancing at Elena for a second, "I suppose teleportation is a thing then." She mumbles the last part to Elijah, who was to consumed with the thought of Klaus and Marcel in the house.

Glaring at the house, Freya lifts her hands up to try and break the barrier surrounding it, suddenly her nose starts to bleed. Elena opens her mouth to say something, when Elijah beats her to it, "Need a Hand?" He asks, holding up said limb up like an offering.

Walking up next to them she speaks,"That won't work, the barrier is too powerful."

Watching the woman shoulders drop, she turns around and looks down the stairs at Elena with a cold look, "And you don't think I'm powerful enough?"

Walking up the stairs next to the witch, the brunette ignores Elijah's raised eyebrow and says, "Elena Gilbert," raising her hand to the woman," And I might work a little better then your brother, with being a Petrova and an ex-Doppelgänger and what ever else I am these days."

"And I should trust you, because?" Freya says, holding her head up, looking down at the girl.

Elena lets out an irritated sigh, "Time is ticking, we don't have time for trust issues right now."

"Elena, this is not exactly the time and place for foolish actions." Elijah tries to explain to her, but the look she gave him was something very much unlike the Elena he was used to all these years ago.

"Then stop acting like a self-righteous idiot all the time. You care about family, your family cares about you. Honestly, I'm not in the mood to see people die today, so let me take care of this. If you haven't noticed, I'm capable and we're running out of time."

"Alright." The eldest brother lets out a sigh and turns to Freya, giving her a nod. Letting out a sigh, Freya nods and takes Elena's hand instead. Facing the barrier again, both women close their eyes, deep in concentration. Breaking the barrier only took five seconds.

Without further hesitation, Elijah almost takes the door off its hinges as he opens it, Freya and Elena right behind him. Seeing Marcel and Klaus fighting and as one tries to dominate the other, Elijah jumps in between, only to have Marcel slam him up against a wall. Freya throws her hand out, making Marcel release Elijah as he stumbles backward, holding his head between his hands. Elijah adjusts his collar, looking for Klaus, who was disheveled and panting.

"He has to die!" Klaus shouts out at his siblings. Elena watches the scene in front of her and could sense the Hollows presence all over the place. Gritting her teeth in anger as she feels it's illusions form behind her.

Turning around she glares at it, only to have it smirk back at her, making it seem so natural on the face it was placed on.

"Now that I have your attention…Sister dear, why don't you listen to what I have to say." It taunts her. Feeling her own anger grow at the face it decided to take on this time. Staring back at her, was none other then her brothers face; Jeremy's face.

"How dare you?" She hisses at it, catching the attention of the others in the room. Elijah felts a shiver down his spine, the room felt as if the temperature dropped tremendously.

Klaus narrows his eyes, and Marcel wipes the blood off his cheek.

"You can see it too?" Marcel asks the girl. Ignoring him, Elena continues to glare at the figure only she could see, to the rest it looks like she's glaring into thin air.

"Change it now. I know you can, so change it!" She shouts in anger, the face of her brother unnerved her to no end. Her agitation grew by the second.

Jeremy's smirk grew even wider as her anger grew, "I think I quite like this one though…Anyway, will you listen or not?" It says, growing slightly irritated at her, eyes shining blue.

"Why the hell would I do that? You're a psychotic, egoistic, sadistic, maniac who kidnaps and sacrifices children! You have nothing worth listening to!" She threw at him, making him glare at her now.

"Well fine, have it your way, but perhaps you'd change your mind if I…I don't know…did this?" He conjured up a knife, and stabbed it though his heart. Elena jumps back in shock at the action. Even though she knew it wasn't really Jeremy, it felt too real. She breathed in slow, don't get distracted.

"Stop." She says sternly, averting her eyes as he broke his arm as if a demon possessed him.

"Then listen." He sneers, breaking her brothers illusion in sick, cracking noise, making her breath hitch more and more as she tries to keep control of her thoughts. "Why don't you stop it yourself? You can, you know. You and I, we are alike that way." He tells her tauntingly.

"I'm nothing like you." She glares at the illusion. Suddenly there was also a Katherine illusion next to her brothers image, smirking at her.

"No? Oh, but you and I are so much alike, Elena!" Katherine taunts at her, her image now shifting into Damon, who mockingly walks toward Elena, "Elena, Katherine, Klaus, Marcel, the Hollow, same difference! Monsters, the lot of us, even your precious friends."

"At least you acknowledge that you're a monster." Elena snorts in its direction.

Reaching her hand out, she feels the flow of the air, grasping at the unnatural energy, and pushing it back. The Hollow flies through a wall, surprising the others as the wall breaks.

"Really now," Hollow/Katherine gets up, "You must really hate this character. It almost makes me want to bring her back to life just to see your anger swallow this city up in flames."

"Oh, if that bitch was alive today, she'd get more then just being thrown through a wall."

The Hollow smirks, "Hmm, that's a fight I'll have to arrange once my body is back in my possession." It glances back at the siblings. The next thing Elijah knows, he's being thrown tossed across the room.

"Elijah!" Freya yells in worry, running toward him, checking to see if he's alright, Helping him up she glares into the opposite direction, where she assumed the monster hunting her family was at, "You won't get away with this."

The Hollow smirks at them in amusement, "He's the one you have a crush on? These Vampires are really weak, you know? Although, they make an excellent source for energy consumption in an emergency…or sacrifices. Oh well, I'll show you much better options once the gate is back open." The air crackles around them, and she sees little specks of lightning glow around the air.

Without a second thought, she jumps in front of the others and stretches her arms out. Within seconds, the lightning hits her barrier.

"Woah!" Marcel jumps back, right into Klaus, who was equally shocked.

Freya jumps in shock as everything shakes around them as lightning hits a wall the girl created. Her eyes grow, this isn't magic! It feels nothing like magic.

"Sorry, no sacrifices today." Elena grunts out, gritting her teeth.

"You're really pissing me off now, you know that." It glares at the girl, who glares right back at it.

"And you've been pissing me off since you decided to plague me with all your disgusting illusions, so I guess we're even. So let's just get this over with!" She shifts her arms in front of her, concentrating on the energy surrounding it, trying to grasp it and squeeze. Anything to make it loose a bit of control, to find a weakness.

The creature grits it's teeth, "Well, aren't you full of power." Pushing back at her, with it's energy, Elena saw a glimpse of a spark. Got it! Closing her eyes, she focuses on that little opening, that little spark, letting her power surge through her and like a snake, it rips through her into the Hollow. The flash bright, like lightning, powers mixing in the air, it was like a battle between the blue and purple lights, a small storm in the middle of the abandoned house. It also pushed her off of her feet.

Blinking her eyes, as the light fades, and the others visions also cleared, all that they saw was black smoke.

Elena stood on her feet, looking at it in shock, almost. It was familiar to her, the form. It was one she has come accustomed to herself, just not…as dark and soulless as the one in front of her.

The black smoke revealed it's glowing blue eyes and Elena saw the smirk cross its form. Freya stands, growls and yells, "Leave my family alone!" Throwing her tonic at it, which went right through it without harming it at all.

Suddenly all but Elena felt a piercing pain through their bodies and fell to the ground in pain. Marcel passed out from the pain. Elena doesn't move from her spot, keeping her eyes on the figure, feeling it trying to break her down to the same state the others where in. Holding her head up she glares at the Hollows form, when it flashes in front of her, a smokey form of a hand comes up and rests on her cheek, glowing blue eyes filled with a satisfaction.

"We are much more alike then I thought…Soror." It spoke in a mental hiss, before vanishing from the house in a smoke of black.

Elena stood there, wide eyes full of shock. She couldn't move at its words, she felt her insides being torn and ripped out of her.

"What the hell was that!" Freya sneers after she came back to it from the pain. Elena didn't hear her though, she was lost in her own thought's, No no no, that's not true. I mean it can't be! It…it can't, but how?

"Elena?" Elijah asks, seeing her stand as still as a statue, "What was that? What did it say to you?" He tries to question her, trying his best to hold back the growing frustration in his voice.

Elena glares at the spot where the Hollow disappeared through the shutters. Letting out a growl, she turn and walks passed the Original family.

"Elena!" Elijah calls out to her.

Stopping in her tracks she sighs, "What, Elijah?"

"You know what it is, do you not?" He questions with his calm yet demanding tone.

Elena lets out a snort, turning to face the man, " Of course I know what it is, we're of the same kind."

Klaus and Freya appear behind Elijah, the youngest of the three glaring at her.

"Well isn't this just fantastic! My old enemy and new one, both of the same breed!" Klaus seethed.

"Careful Klaus, the Hollow is powerful enough on its own, but two of us? That is asking for is one of the things it wants." She warns him through her teeth. Letting her gaze drop, she lets out a sigh as she runs her hand ran through her hair, "This is bad."

"What do you mean you are of the same kind?" Elijah asks her, brows furrowed.

Turning her head to look at him, Elena purses her lips together, I don't want them to know, she thinks to herself in irritation, But if I'm staying here, then the best rout would be for them to know, wouldn't it?… She thinks back to part of the phone call she had with Alister.

"You can't keep hiding from yourself this way. It's still new and fresh, but the longer you hold this in and not talk about it, the more of a chance there is for people to get hurt."

She accidentally lets out a growl at Alister's words, making the others tense up at the animalistic sound of it. Sensing their discomfort, she takes in another breath calming herself down. Fear is my enemy. Their opinions do not matter, so get a grip of yourself Elena! You've got this! Just tell them, just…

Taking in another breath, she gives herself a mental nod, turning determined eyes to Elijah, " I'll tell you," glancing around the open area she adds, " But not here, somewhere where there aren't prying…anything."

"Fair enough." Elijah nods, while Klaus lets out a snort, "Perhaps you should collect Marcel, Niklaus." Elijah tells the hybrid.

Freya takes her eyes slowly off of the strange girl her brother is fascinated with and looks at her other brother, "If we take Marcel back to the compound, I should be able to recreate the same barrier he had Vincent put on you." Nodding his head, Klaus rolls his eyes at Elena's glare and goes to retrieve Marcel.

Freya turns back to the other girl, "So you're Elena? The doppelgänger girl I've heard my siblings talk about?"

Elena shifts on her feet, but nods her head, " I guess…although if you heard your siblings talk about me, then I'm sure you hate me already." Freya smirks at her in slight amusement.

"Well, I don't necessarily always share the opinion of my siblings…but I will say that I don't trust you either. I am known to act on my instinct."

"You Mikealsons and your love for threatening people." Elena snorts out laughing a bit," You're right though…you shouldn't trust me, I act on my own instinct too."

Elijah witnesses the understanding exchanging between the two women, and just a moment later, Klaus comes out, with an unconscious Marcel dropped over his shoulders. His brow raises at the electricity that hung in the air.

Arriving back at the compound, Klaus doesn't turn around to talk to anyone, going to bring Marcel to the torture chamber he had him imprisoned in. Freya followed closely behind.

"Would you like a Beverage, Elena?" Elijah asks politely. Elena smiles softly, still ever the gentleman, " No, thank you. We should get this talk over with as soon as possible."

"Is everything alright? I just saw Klaus carry Marcel." Hayley wonders, stepping in with Hope closely behind her.

"It went…well." Is what Elijah could tell her, because even he wasn't sure if everything was all right.

Hope stayed behind her mother, glancing up at the new woman. She teleported!

Elena looked around the place, taking in its exquisite beauty, but even with it's beauty she felt a lot of death as well. She flinched, stating out "This place screams Klaus."

"This was our home for many of years." Elijah tells her, smiling.

"Yes, and recently it's been nothing but occupied by enemies left and right. So Lovely Elena, please enlighten us, tell us what you are and why you are here, in my city, and not back in Mystic Falls living your perfect little life." Klaus all but glares at her from the door way.

Freya rolls her eyes, "Ever so subtle Klaus."

Elena looked around before beginning her story, "Seven years ago, I was put into a magical coma by some psychotic syphon witch. He linked Bonnie and I to one another, and only if she died was I to wake up from some eternal slumber." She turned to Klaus, a humorless chuckle escaped her, "I guess now I know what you put your siblings through…kind of." Klaus glared at her, she ignored it, turning back to look at nothing in particular, " When I was in that slumber…I was met by a presence that told me things about me that I never thought to dream about. I didn't believe in those things back then, Vampires, Witches, Werewolves, and Doppelgängers? That was enough for me. But as I started learning those things, the more I believed, the more I trained, it was like being in a different realm. I'm sure I was."

Walking over to the fountain, full of weeds and no longer running, "My eternal slumber felt like a hundred years, but it was only five years long and I woke up. A lot of people I knew where dead. Enzo, Tyler, Stefan. Mystic Falls was nearly eradicated and even though no one blamed me for it, I did, because if I had just died when my parents and I wet over that bridge, Katherine never would have come to Mystic Falls and jump started so much bullshit." The pain in her voice was quiet, but strong.

"I woke up, I halfway thought it was a dream. I didn't know it was real until things started to happen." Lifting her hand to touch one of the weeds, the others saw them crumble to dust. Hayley took a step back, holding Hope a little closer.

"And then Alister came, the presence that I felt in my dream. It became very clear to me that the things he told me, taught me, were real. And so I left it all behind and I didn't really look back, because at that point everything was too much. I was fine hunting and getting rid of the evil in this world, up until about three weeks ago when visions plagued my mind nonstop. Something was calling me, I couldn't ignore it and then I come here and it's just a big fiasco. This city is overrun by the supernatural, you'd think this is the Godfather or something."

Klaus pushed himself off of the side of the entry way, "Yes, such a sad story indeed, perhaps later I can tell you all about my own sad story, but please speed ahead and tell us what this thing that is after my daughter is."

"That depends," Elena rolls her eyes and turns back around, looking a little nervous. It's not that she's afraid, but what she's about to tell requires…open mindedness, "Are you able to believe in something bigger than monsters and magic?"

Freya steps forward, her eyes guarded but curious, "What you did out there, it looked like magic, but there wasn't a single once of a magical presence. It felt strong though, potent, just like what Kol described, when you saved them in the cemetery."

Elena stares straight into her eyes, "It's not magic. It's light and dark. It's beautiful and terrifying. It's what happens when an Angel and Demon decide to posses humans and make them have a baby, making the humans believe that the baby was just a random drunk one night stand."

Freya looked taken aback, "What?"

Elijah stepped toward Elena, his own eyes looked at her in disbelieve, "You said that the you and the Hollow are of the same kind, do you mean to tell me-,"

"No! No, don't you dare spout such nonsense, things like that don't exist. You're lying!" Klaus roars, ready to reach out to her and attack her, he suddenly finds himself against the wall, unable to move his limbs. "Let me go! I'll kill you." He glares at her. Hope was shaking a little at her fathers rage. She didn't like this, so she closed her eyes tight.

Elena rolled her eyes, "Than don't attack me."

Freya watched the scene, baffled. This girl, this woman, she didn't lift a single hand as she held Klaus against the wall. He didn't look in pain, just…like he was glued to the wall.

"What are you?" She asks bluntly.

Elena smiles at her, opening her mouth to speak,

"I believe the proper term is Nephilim." Elijah says, looking straight at Elena, his eyes filled with absolute wonder. It made Elena's skin itch, in a good way though. She swallowed, nodding, letting Klaus down from the wall.

"You're saying a…Angle Demon hybrid is after my daughter?" Hayley questions in disbelief. Elena looked over to her,

"Yes, but, it's only after her because Hope is young and full of untapped magic. She's like a fresh battery in it's eyes. It's looking for anything to recharge itself, to come back, it mainly wants it's body back. It doesn't like your family either" Elena paused, looking at Hayley for a moment, "I think your ancestors where the ones who locked it up, which means it had to be vulnerable at the time…" glancing down at the young girl behind her mother, she frowned at the dark energy flowing around her, "…she's still got darkness around her."

"That can't be, Vincent purified her." Freya lets her know.

Elena takes a step closer to the girl. Klaus is in front of her in seconds, "Don't you dare touch her, don't even look at her!" He growls. He was never going to trust this doppelgänger, not after all the things he's done to her, she's probably just glad to have something against me.

"I'm not going to hurt her, Klaus." She snaps at the hybrid. Turning back to the girl she asks, "You can feel it, can't you?"

Hope steals a glance to her father. She didn't want to disappoint him, but her gut told her that this woman, was safe. She nods her head a little, "It's telling me to do bad things."

"Can I see?" Elena asks her smiling, stretching out her hand, "I have to know what I'm dealing with and I promise it won't hurt, but I need your permission to do so."

Staring up at her mother for permission, Hope's eyes looked like they were begging Hayley almost, "I…go ahead sweetie."

"Hayley, what are you!" Klaus growls at her as he's met by said woman hard stare.

"I'm still trying to process everything, but if she can take, whatever it is, away from Hope, I will do anything in my power to make sure Hope is safe. So get over yourself Klaus."

Hope reaches for Elena's hand, placing her small one in her open one. Elena closes her eyes, looking into the mind of the girl. It was innocent for the most part, images of her family flittered around, of magic, she kept searching until she found it. A dark wisp, floating around her mind, making her have nightmares, the type of nightmares a little girl like her shouldn't be having. It was indeed, mostly purified, but there was still enough in her for it to feed and grow. Elena tried mentally grabbing it, throw it out by force, but it was fast. It was also strong. That was okay, she liked challenges, she just had to make sure not to hurt Hope.

Asserting her dominance over the wisp, wasn't that hard. Creating a barrier around it, she trapped it in her hold.

Elijah watched, making sure no harm came to his niece, but also making sure Klaus was not about to tear Elena from her spot either. He frowned, however, when her eyes opened and they held a violet glow…like the Hollow, who had blue.

Suddenly Hope gasped, her mouth opened a bit as a black wisp escaped her and she falls backwards letting go of Elena's hands. Klaus catches the little girl in time, ready to rip the other girl apart for attempting to hurt her, but he stops in his tracks.

Elena Gilberts eyes glowed a menacing violet as she holds something that looked a lot like a black cloud in her grip, like she was strangling it. Had that been inside his daughters mind this whole time? He shuttered at the thought, holding her closer.

The wisp looked like it was struggling, wiggling to be free from her grip, but Elena glared harder, her power bristling at the thought of it invading the innocent minds of children.

Freya herself wasn't sure what to feel, but the those feelings became clearer once the wiggling intruder started screeching in the Nephilim hands, it was like watching a fire burn thought a piece of paper, and then it was gone. No ashes, no body, no presence; it was erased from this world. Freya knew. She felt in her bones. Elena would either be their most important ally in this fight…or their worst enemy.

No long after her little stunt at the Mikealsons compound, Elena bid her goodbyes. As much as she would have loved to stay, Not, she needed to go for a walk. Sort out the events of the day she hasn't quite processed yet.

Walking down the river walk by the Mississippi, she let the sound of water try to calm her, her head full of unanswered questions.

Elena stares at the sky in worry. It's words in her mind…Soror…"…Sister?"

A/N: What's up guys? I know! She updated so soon? Is she okay? Well, my hand's hurt and my brain hurts thinking about all the stuff I need to do the next weeks, since I'm moving out and into my apartment. So much to do...and unemployment being a little bitch, since my job got furloughed, "They'll call you when they have time" they said, lies. I haven't been able to claim anything since two weeks ago and I'm getting frustrated. Beyond. Believe. But whatever, I'll survive. I hope. I hope you guys also stay safe! My state decided to be an idiot and open back up again, so I might order a hazmat suit soon...

But hey, I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, and I do apologize, I did not proof read this, so there's present tense and past tense and issues all over the place, I do hope I got most of the words spell checked right. Also, thanks to those that reviewed last chapter, it made me laugh because I too, forgot about my story. SO thank you for coming back!

And shout out to the person that guessed right 3 years ago, yup! Elena is a Nephilim! Although I saw that she is also one in the Book version, but we're not gonna associate with the Book version here, because while it's collecting dust on my shelf, it confuses me to no end. But that's okay because this is my story and it comes with fun plot twists and easter eggs and foreshadowing.

Read, Review, Let me know what you think!
