I'm not as proud of the first poem as I was in 2016, but I really wanted to finish stuff this year, close the door on projects I started a long time ago.

So here's Isadora Smackle's response poem to Isaiah Babineaux's confession.

In other stories, they're endgame. In this one... You'll see.

I like your smile

It's always on

Lit up

And happy

In my mind

When you're gone

If I had known

Your smile was for me

Would I have changed

My destiny

I've loved

For a long time

This boy just like me

But your smile

In my mind

Is all I can see

I know one truth

I have to be loyal

I picked my side

But I like your smile
