And so here we are, on the eve of the anniversary of the attack on the Island of Sodor in the summer of last year.

There have been major changes to the engine roster and job list; but the engines who perform these jobs have inherited the legacy of being responsible, reliable and really useful.

Pip and Emma the High Speed Twins handle the express between both the rebuilt Tidmouth and Barrow-in-Furness, while Connor and Caitlin conduct stopping passenger trains along the main line with runs along certain branch lines.

Murdoch, Neville and Hank handle all the heavy goods work, while Molly and Emily have now become the new mixed-traffic twins along the Little Western.

Wilbert and Sixteen/Sheffield have vowed to carry on Duck and Oliver's legacy of being truly Great Western engines.

Both Charlie and Billy have inherited Bill and Ben's China Clay works and run it with Timothy as the new tank engine twins, while Salty and Porter are the new dock side twins of Brendam.

A few older engines are still here such as me, Percy, Toby, Edward and James.

Flora and Gator have become the new Mavis and Daisy of the Knapford to Ffarquhar/Ulfstead branch line, while Lady has returned from the Magic Railroad of Muffle Mountain and Shining Time to help out every now and then.

Harvey and Marion have joined with the Sodor Steamworks to help Victor and Kevin as the new 'Geoff' the Works Diesel.

Derek leads fellow diesels Dennis, Norman, Den, Dart, Paxton, Sidney, the Ironworks twins Arry and Bert, and the twins Splatter and Dodge on a few branch lines like the Peel Godred, Kirk Ronan and the Norramby branches.

Whiff and Scruff maintain the environmental and ecological aspects of the island's railways.

Stafford, Stephen and Neil have found new leases on life as station pilots and light goods engines.

Bash, Dash and Ferdinand of the Misty Island Logging Railway now also offer passenger tours of Misty Island as well as taking logging trains of Jobi to keep Sodor running and building.

Belle and Arthur have found company in each other as all-utility engines, but each engine still here works in tribute to the sacrifices the engines and people made to protect our island and its railways from those who sought to destroy them last year.

Even so, one of the engines is remembered most as the "Hero of Sodor".

That engine's name is Rosie Hill the Lavender Tank Engine - who gave her life to end the swarm of terror brought by her very own sister: the deceased number 22 Maunsell aka. Odessa the Wartime Shunter who was killed by Rosie to save other innocent lives.

Thus ends the sad tale of the Island of Sodor, its people and railways...
