The Sound of Silence in Remnant:

Soundwave's POV
4 years, 9 months, 2 weeks, 4 days, 7 hours, 53 minutes, and 29 seconds… that is how long I have been trapped in this gray, darkened and secluded, invisible prison called… the Shadow Zone. A dimension only accessed when two ground bridges cross their quantum vortexes, sending the unlucky victim into this dimension where you can never interact with the world around you and they are none the wiser. It is a perpetual torment of solitude and loneliness, the only companion to keep me relatively sane being my beloved Minicon Laserbeak. But even he is starting to dwindle in the sanity department by now.
Now I stand behind the yellow Autobot scout in the 'Junkyard', as the Cybertronian scout Bumblebee and his team call it, watching as the humans and these Autobots converse over simple matters. More often than not, they talk of inferior things like maintaining their weapons and this Minicon, Fixit, trying to repair his own processor and voice synthesizer, its damage evident due to all the stutters and glitches in his speech pattern. I watched silently as the Autobots, Minicon and humans all laughed about something I couldn't hear. I wish I was able to, but the only way would be to communicate through the comms and unfortunately… I do not have the voice to do that anymore and I highly doubt that the scout or any of his team would trust him.
For the first time in all my existence… I-I had nothing… no purpose or anything of the sort, ever since the one I pledged my loyalty to, Megatron, dissolved the Decepticon movement and left to the other side of the known galaxy. I don't know what to do. For the first time in my mechanical existence… I had no idea of what I could do. Looking away from the laughing figures of the happy Autobots and humans, I turned my attention towards the massive group of skyscrapers made from iron and steel, which laid out in the distance before transforming into my Alternate Mode, that being what the humans would call, a black, blue and purple 'Spy Drone' before darting off into the air and flying towards the large city.
As I flew, I looked all around myself and noticed the lush green landscape of the forest and the dirt brown gravel that scattered across the road until I finally found the blackened road of the city, it's silver beauty not even touching that of which Cybertron had always held. I released a soundless sigh as I remembered how Laserbeak Ravage and myself would always love to play within the city gardens, smiling unnoticeably at the light memory I then frown at the memory of Ravage and when… nevermind, I shouldn't be thinking of that.
As I flew towards the city, I caught something out of the corners of my optics. Yes, I do have optics contrary to popular belief from those humans named Jackson, Miko and Rafael. Primus I really don't like those humans, not because they put me in the Shadow Zone though that did… how'd the humans say it? Right… it did put a little 'salt in the wound', but really it was because of how idiotically ignorant and flat out dumb they are. Well, all except the human Rafael, he's not so bad and his intelligence is incredibly high. Anyway, I caught the sight of something out of the corner of my optics and decided to go see what it was, so I turned my path and flew over to it before transforming over the treeline a few meters away from the anomaly. Returning to my robotic form, I slammed onto the ground and came to a skidding halt as I phased through the trees, my impact never affecting the dirt or rubble as I did so.
When I finally stopped moving, I slowly stood up and noticed a bright aqua green glow of pulsating light which resonated like the Spark of a Cybertronian. Treading forward with minor caution as nothing could hurt me while I was in the Shadow Zone except things that were in the Shadow Zone, and I slowly phased out of the trees and into a clearing where I recoiled with shock at what I found. ~I-Is this… a SpaceBridge?~ I thought in shock at what I was looking at.
Floating not but eight measly meters away from me, was a swirling aqua green vortex of Energon and science. It was a Space Bridge… an actual Space Bridge! I was somewhat ecstatic about this, not because it'd likely mean I could hopefully go somewhere good, no; but because it could mean that I'd be able to escape the Shadow Zone. I took a few steps forward in excitement and I almost sprinted directly into it but halted as soon as I reached the swirling vortex. ~Wait… if I escape now… than… what would I do after that?~ I thought to myself as I watched the portal.
I then began to think about humanity and all that it's done for the Cybertronian cause and with the Autobots. I may not be an Autobot but… still, I do want to help in what ways I can. Even if that means spending a decade or so in prison on Cybertron. Nodding silently to myself I cautiously stepped towards the Space Bridge before it swapped me whole, engulfing me in its swirling vortex.
Then… pain. Unrivaled, blinding and senseless pain. It felt as if something was melting the steel and iron that was my very body and twisting the molten metals all over me. Bending my arms and legs in ways I never thought possible and Laserbeak wasn't fairing off much better as I could hear his cries of agony as well. I couldn't even turn my head to look at him as my neck was being burned and disintegrated along with being warped, melted and rewired. I released a silent scream of breathless air as the pain raced up my face until it fried my head and I fell unconscious. But before my optics completely shut, I could faintly see the clear blue sky.
Then… nothing.
