The scene opens up to a lively city street full of people, but also Living dolls and toys. Among them, a man was talking to two girls.
"And if you keep going this way, you'll arrive at the Coliseum, just in time for the event they're planning." He said.
"Wow, thanks!" the first girl said as the two left. "He was a nice guy, wasn't he?"
"Yeah, talk about chivalrous too. And he even returned your wallet when you dropped it." the other said as they walked away, not paying attention to a pair of butterflies flying out of the woman's purse. They flew back to the man, which instantaneously morphed into Berries in his hand.
"The city of Dressrosa…. A town of lively passion, love, and toys. But here in it also hides bloody sport and underground dealings." the man smiled. "It's very similar to Napoli in a sense… although I still don't understand why I was sent here with the others. This is all too strange." he said before noticing a toy soldier talking to a girl near the coliseum. "A talking toy? That's right. The toys here are alive."
"Whoa! A talking toy?!" said Luffy, surprised as most of the group had seen the conversation.
"Oh uh...do you need me to take your luggage?" the toy soldiers said moving around oddly.
"Hm?" the man said looking at the group. "Those people… could they be...I recognize that one with the straw hat. He's an outlaw in this world. Monkey D. Luffy."
"We can't just talk with this toy. Remember why we're here." Jesse said.
"Yeah. I remember. We're here to deal with Doflamingo and the SMILE Factory." Rainbow said.
"Whoa! No need to act so extreme." the soldier said.
"What do you mean?" Glimmer asked.
"You don't want to attract attention to yourselves. If Doflamingo hears word…" The soldier said.
"Hey, you suspicious guys...what was that you were saying?" one of the sentrys said as a few soldiers joined him.
"Well, too late to hide it now." Zoro said.
"Say, before we get started…" ZS said. "Any of you soldiers mind pointing us in the direction of the factory?" he asked before David shot him in the head.
"As if they'll comply just like that." David said.
"These men are only soldiers. They wouldn't tell you about the factory even if you asked." Toy Soldier said.
"So you know where?" Eddy asked.
"All I know is that it's close to the coliseum." he said.
"Let's see… If we remember the layout from the Perfect Link Tournament, the colosseum should be… This way." Leia said.
"Kill them!" the soldiers said before they suddenly found their weapons turning into fish that floundered in their hands. "What?!"
"I'm not sure if I should help them but...they don't seem like bad people." the man said.
"Eeh?! What happened to those guys's weapons?!" Luffy asked.
"You really shouldn't go asking questions like that in the open. It's as if you have no idea how criminal organizations work." the man said walking out of hiding. "You're wasting time asking them. You should get proper info by interrogating a higher up."
"Wow...that is...strangely good advice." ZS said. "So...what's with this coliseum place anyway?" he asked as they ran off.
"It's a place where battles between gladiators take place. Daily fights to the death." the man said.
"Fights to the death? Daily? This place is terrible." Issei said.
"This has to be because of Mingo and the SMILE Factory." Luffy said.
"And the gladiators have a big reason to fight fiercely today. A tournament is being held today. The prize...is a Devil Fruit called the Flame-Flame Fruit." the man said.
"Flame-Flame? That's Ace's Devil Fruit!" David said.
"Not a surprise. Researching them...turns out once a user dies, their Devil Fruit reincarnates into a new fruit." Sci-Twi said.
"No way...I'm not letting anyone get a hold of Ace's power!" Luffy shouted.
"I'm inclined to agree. Not only would that power be very dangerous in the wrong hands, but it will disgrace Ace's death." David said.
"I'm going to win that fruit and give it to someone." Luffy said as they battled against the incoming soldiers charging at them.
"In that case, you'll need to enter and win it." Jexi said.
"Mi Scusi for asking but… is winning that fruit really that important to you?" The man asked.
"To us, it is. It once belonged to a dear friend of ours." David said.
"I see. Then I'll help you get in." the man said as more soldiers came at him. He quickly touched a pole as it turned into a large vine as it grabbed them.
"What? He can turn things into plants?" Glimmer said.
"No. It's more than that. This boy...he can imbue inanimate objects with life." Poison Ivy said.
"Now then…" he said, grabbing one of the commanders. "Where is the factory?"
"Ah! Don't hurt me. It's...it's underground! Right under the coliseum!" the commander said.
"Grazie. That's just what my friends needed." the man said.
The ground then started to shake as emerging from the ground was a large man made of stone.
"This guy...he's from the report Law shared. That's Pica." Jexi said.
"How...how dare you try and cause trouble for us!" Pica said, his voice incredibly high and squeaky.
"..." Ed and Eddy were silent for a moment, until…
"WA-HAHAHA!" they both started laughing hysterically. "I-Is that his actual voice?!" Eddy wheezed.
"HAHAHA! He sounds like an elephant! Say more words, mister statue man!" Ed said as he rolled on the ground laughing.
"Huh?!" Pica said as he pulled back a fist. "You two...will die first!" he said.
"BAHA-uh oh." Ed said as he caught Pica's punch just in time, the force sliding him back several feet. "Ha! Broke your mega stone fist!"
"You fool. That won't affect me!" Pica said as the fist regrew. "I ate the Stone-Stone Fruit and became a Stone Assimilation man! Your attacks are futile!"
"I will not be stopped by rock!" Ed said as he ran towards Pica, then jumped above him and used his head to slam into Pica's face. "Ed beats rock!" he said, following up with multiple punches into Pica's eyes.
"I'll crush you!" Pica said.
"No...you won't." the man said before materializing behind him was a golden humanoid creature.
"What? A Stand?!" Jexi said.
"Gold Experience!" the man shouted as it pummeled the fist into pieces.
"Arrgh! Seems you all are tougher than I thought. I'll have to tell Doffy about this." Pica said as he sank into the ground and vanished.
"Whew… That was crazy. That was amazing, dear sir." Omnimon said.
"One thing I've been noticing. You're not from around here, are you?" Cheetah asked.
"..." the man said, turning to the others. "How did you know I wasn't from this world?"
"For one, you used a Stand. That isn't something that people from this world use." David said.
"I see. So Stands are foreign here." he said. "You're right. I'm not from this world. I'm from Italy."
"That explains the use of Italian words in your speech." Hope said. "But if you're from another world… how did you get here?"
"I'm not sure of that either. I was recently brought into a small group before we ended up in this strange country." he said.
"And...let me guess. You all ended up separated." Crusadermon said.
"Not quite. As far as I know, one of my allies is still here but I don't know where the others are. So...that's not too far from the truth." he said.
"And this small group...was it a club or something?" Rarity asked.
"Not quite. I'm a mafioso." the man said.
"A mafioso!?" most of them said.
"But how can…" Hope said before Jexi stopped him.
"This guy. For some reason...he has...the same feel Dio had." Jexi said. "Who are you?"
"Right. I still haven't given you all my name. I'm Giorno Giovanna. And my aim is to be...a gang-star." he said.
"I'm sorry, what? Don't you mean Gangster?" Bow asked.
"No. I want to be someone above that. Someone who looks out for the people from the underworld." Giorno said.
"Reminds me of someone…" Hope said to himself.
"Pardon my inquiry, but you seem to be thinking about someone." Giorno piped in.
"Oh, you just reminded me of somebody we know who's an ally of ours. He's a gang-star, if you wanna put it like that." Hope said. "But he usually gets himself into trouble a lot of the time."
"Yeah… Every time we run into his team, they always end up in some sort of sticky situation, and we end up having to save their asses." David said.
"This person you're talking about… he wouldn't happen to have a large scar on his face, would he?" Giorno asked.
"Um… Yes, that's him." Cheetah said. "How do you know of him?"
"Because he and this team of his, along with their friend, were following me around back in Naples." Giorno said.
David sighs at this. "Damn it, Ty…"
"Apparently only one was supposed to come but for some reason he chose to tag along. They eventually went off back home thankfully." Giorno said.
"At least we know we won't have to rescue them again. That...would've been embarrassing." David said.
"Back to the matter at hand though, you wanted to reclaim the Flame Flame Fruit, and also destroy Doflamingo's SMILE factory?" Giorno asked.
"Yeah, that's what we want to do in a nutshell." Hope said.
"I would like to lend my assistance as well. I've been observing the hold the Donquixote Family has on this town. If you would permit me to work together with you, our combined strength will overthrow Dolfamingo's reign in Dressrosa." Giorno said. "I know about the secrets of this country and how if those secrets become undone...will be the end to his reign all over the world."
"Yeah. Anyway, you can just super leave it to us, Luffy. You need to get that fruit." Franky said.
"Hold it!" Rarity said. "We can't just let Luffy walk in. His face was plastered all over the newspaper this morning."
"Right. He'll need a disguise." the toy soldier said before dressing Luffy in a fake white beard and glasses. "There. You are now competitor...Lucy!"
"Lucy? Really?" Lucy asked. "Isn't a guy with my name gonna raise more than a few eyebrows?"
"Well…it could be short for "Lucifer", so...it can work as a nickname." SE proposed.
"Can't be a gladiator without a nickname. Them's the rules." ZS said.
"Okay then! I'm off guys!" Luffy said as he ran off to register.
"Hmm...should we really trust him to go on alone?" Jexi pondered.
"It's not that I doubt his ability, but I see your point. More of us in there, means a better chance of getting that Devil Fruit." David said.
"Uh...I was thinking more like letting them watch." Jexi said.
"A best choice considering having them compete would be a bad idea." Toy Soldier said.
"Right… Sorry. I still have that disguise from that operation we saved Bakugou, so I was thinking…" David started.
"Wait, you still have that thing?" Himeno asked.
"What? I'll never know when I'll need it again. Though, that's probably a bad idea in hindsight." David said.
"It's not because of that." Toy Soldier said. "You've seen the toys across Dressrosa right?"
"Yes. Yes, I have. We all have." David said.
"Those toys...they're humans." Toy Soldier said.
"And there it is. Knew something was off about this place." Leia said.
"Yes. Doflamingo has a Devil Fruit user that turns people into toys. Not only that but their existence wiped from the memory of those who knew them the moment they are turned." Toy Soldier said.
"Ah, that's right. I've seen it for myself in Marineford. He stuck a needle in Draco's arm and moved him around like a puppet." David said.
"Not quite the same but I get what you think. This entire kingdom is ignorant of this fact as he controls it so easily from the palace." Toy Soldier said.
"I see. You didn't want anyone else competing because if they end up losing, we'd end up forgetting about them." Jexi said. "So that girl you were talking with was…"
"My daughter." he said.
"So, instead of sending fighters into the ring, we'll send them into the stands. To make sure things go fairly." Jexi said.
"Right. Can never be too careful after all." Hope said.
"While that separate group will observe the tournament. The rest of us will work to dismantle the SMILE Factory." Giorno said. "The operation begins now."
