FIVE WEEKS EARLIER

Roman looked at the woman in the open door. Her rust red, big curls were pulled away from her beautiful face and secured in a ponytail. It was her eyes he focused most on. Her amber eyes seemed full of worry as she looked at him. Probably because he was crying. He rarely cried in front of anyone.

"Roman, what's wrong?" She asked.
"Oh, Paloma," he tried drying his eyes with his fingers. "I left her."

Her meaning his girlfriend - or now ex girlfriend - Lana. It hadn't been a healthy relationship but he hadn't been able to let go. Paloma stepped aside and held out her hand. He walked in as many times before. He could always count on her. She was his friend.

"About fucking time," she said.
"I know," he sighed.
"That bitch doesn't fucking deserve you. She treats you like crap and cheats on you with both Rusev and Bobby. You fucking know about this and you keep forgiving her. I never could understand why," she said.
"Not anymore. I'm done," he said. "And the reason why is because I didn't want another failed relationship. You were there when I divorced Galina. You know how messed up I was for a long time after that. I don't wanna go back to that place."

She wrapped her arms around him and hugged him.

"Oh, Roman," she sighed. "You were back in that place with Lana. Or a similar place. And you know just as well as me that you didn't love her. You were just scared to leave."
"I know," he whispered. "Next time I'll let you pick out a woman for me. You got better judgment than me apparently."

PRESENT DAY

Paloma had no idea how they had gone from that day five weeks ago to this moment. Her under Roman, moaning his name in his ear as he made her cum. Him giving her pleasure like she had never experienced before.

It wasn't planned. It wasn't even supposed to happen. Roman had lived with her for five weeks. Sure, they shared the bed, but nothing ever happened. They were friends. Until this evening.

It started out with a drink. A simple vodka and orange juice combination. One drink turned into two. Two turned into more. She wasn't sure who had made the first move. Suddenly they had kissed, and just as suddenly they had ended up in bed together.

Maybe it was wrong but it felt so damn right. They had known each other for years. They knew each other inside out. Almost. The final step had been taken. They now knew each other's bodies as well. Neither of them had any regret in the moment it happened.
