Hello guys! Gotta say it's been a while! Though I am a Moonie (Sailor Moon fan) at heart, I have to say that I have never really seen the entire 200 episode masterpiece (at least in my eyes) that started the Sailor Moon craze in the 90s (I've read all the manga though!). This was because the final season, Stars, never made it to the USA...Until now.

After YEARS of waiting, I can finally say I have seen Sailor Moon Stars (though, like any Moonie, I did know the ending beforehand!) and I gotta say, though the "monsters of the day" are a bit weird, it's still the BEST season of the 90s Sailor Moon series. I love the Starlights and their interactions with the Sailor Senshi...The Starlights' stubborn nature is refreshing and amazing. Not to mention the tension between Seiya and Haruka is SO hilarious at times! It's like the potential boyfriend meeting the overprotective father! Heh heh.

I started listening to some new music and it got me inspired to write this little short story starring the Starlights. I admit, I'm still new to their characters so I hope I expressed them well. I hope this story tides you over as I continue to finish the other stories I am currently working on!

By the way, I know this is so cheesy but with the nature of this story, I thought it best to give you a playlist of sorts. The four songs below were my inspiration so please try them out! They are fabulous!

"Live Like Legends"-Ruelle

"Oh My My"-Ruelle

"Fire Meets Fate"-Ruelle

"Shatter Me"-Lindsey Stirling

Okay, I've said too much...On with the show folks!

A Senshi's Resolve

It was frustrating to say the least...They had been here on this planet called Earth for months and...Nothing...No sign of that one person they were so desperate to find.

They knew it would take patience and a little creativity to reach an entire planet with their message, thus the reason why they chose to become idols in the hopes their message could be heard…

They were going to find her...Their princess...no matter the cost.

Yet, after months and months of living the idol life, it seemed they had no time to even think of her. With commercials, photo spreads, rehearsals, etc., the only true moments they could believe in their mission was when they sang and those small moments when they had down time.

A senshi's resolve was unwavering, yet...Theirs...was beginning to.

The Three Starlights were impatient and who could blame them? They had to find her...Their lost princess. Oftentimes they wondered, in the large groups of screaming fangirls, could she be there...listening? Or was it just a wayward dream. Would they ever find her?

"A what!?"

On a day of rest and relaxation, they had been informed by their manager of a gig they were going to do...They were to go to a rehearsal studio early the next morning for a week of rehearsals before the impending performance.

"I can't believe this!" Yaten screamed in frustration. "Who cares about anything but singing!?"

Safe to say he was infuriated with the gig in the first place...It had no singing involved...Nor did it even have any of their songs laced within…

Yet as idols...They were required to participate...In a freaking dance performance.

"Can't we just tell them no!?" Yaten yelled angrily.

"It's a collaboration, and it's already been decided." Taiki shared Yaten's displeasure but there was really nothing they could do at the moment. Cancelling ANY event without reason would be bad for their image.

"Let's just go and get it over with." Seiya sighed, joining in the discontent.

Thus, early the next morning, the Three Lights came to a dance company's main building. Escorted by the Director of this madness, they entered a large dance rehearsal space which included a far wall lined with mirrors and several bodies stretching on the wooden floor.

"Company attention!" The director shouted and all stood. "The stars are here!"

It was a bit different here...At least there were no screaming fans...These were all professionals so as the Three Lights entered the space they were met with light clapping.

"We're so glad you three will be in this amazing performance!" The director was gushing all over this big opportunity. "You'll be working with the entire company and our own stars...The Fates."

The Fates were apparently a girl group of triplets. They were quite the idols themselves in the artistic world, or so the director proclaimed. Two were currently present, sitting in chairs that lined the mirrored wall. Upon seeing the Three Lights, the two women stood.

"Where is Gabriella!?" The director panicked.

"Oh, you know her…" The blonde haired, blue eyed violinist giggled. Beside her the taller blonde sighed.

"Gabby will be here after she's done with her warm ups, director." The taller blonde said. "You know how she is...She likes her own space."

"Gentlemen…" Introductions were soon produced. Of the blonde Fates there was the violinist, Giselle, the singer Ginna...and…

The final Fate entered the area, her cropped blonde hair nearly sticking to already sweaty skin. As she approached, each dancer in the company stood, some even giving a light bow.

This was Gabriella...The dancer of the Fates.

"Oh goodness!" The director immediately went to her and took her hand. "My prima! You grace us with your presence!"

"Late as always little sister." Giselle giggled, Gabriella rolled her eyes.

Gabriella turned her eyes towards the Three Lights, crossed her arms. "So...You're those idol guys huh?"

"Since Gabriella is our prima, you will be doing most of the numbers with her." The director explained. "Well...Why don't we get to it then!" He gestured and three male dancers approached. "These three will be your doubles, gentlemen. If you will have a seat we'll get started."

Seiya frowned. "Huh?" Weren't they going to just learn the choreography and get it over with?

"We do things differently here." Ginna explained as she took her seat.

"Since this is a bit new, the director thought it would be better if you guys saw the full rehearsal." Giselle smiled.

"Wait...everyone already knows the content already!?" Yaten gapped. Then what the hell were they doing there in the first place!?

"Well...Yeah…You'll learn your parts later. Just watch the three doubles." Giselle said. "Ginna and I will explain everything-"

"If they really are artists they won't need an explanation."

Gabriella finally approached with her pointe shoes on. It was obvious she didn't want to be here. She stared down at the sitting Starlights.

"What did you just say?" Seiya glared right back at her.

"I'm saying if you three really are artists then you won't need an stupid explanation as to what's going on." She said again.

"What's your problem?" Yaten frowned.

"My problem is a bunch of pansy boys who got lucky are here and about to ruin everyone's hard work." She huffed. "Dancing is a lot more complicated than belting out about lost loves and all that junk."

"Hey!" Seiya wanted to give the girl a piece of his mind when Taiki's hand on his shoulder made him calm down.

"No offense but I'm not down with dancing with a bunch of amateurs." She shrugged. "But it is what it is…" She turned around. "Let's get this over with…" Then she went to join the company.

"Sorry about that…" Giselle sighed.

"It's...Okay…" But inside Seiya was seething. Already he hated that little prick of a dancer!

"The director was practically in tears when he got you guys…" Ginna crossed her arms. "He's a big fan of you guys…"

"In fact, this whole performance was inspired by your music...Or so the director said." Giselle said, making the three stare at her.

"It's...inspired by our music?" Taiki blinked.

"Yeah…" Ginna sighed. "The director heard your album once then locked himself inside his office for a week...When he came out he had an entire performance ready to go." She saw the dancers taking position. "They're about to start…"

"The performance is called Answer." Gisella whispered as a haunting, upbeat melody began.

The Three Lights watched the performance silently, each number connecting to the next, telling a most...familiar tale. When the third number came; when Gabriella struggled from her captors and was placed on a platform away from the three men, a second woman mimicking evil laughter at the three's anguish...the Lights froze.

This performance...Was their story...in dance form.

It was like their entire lives were right there, dancing before them. As the final number came and Gabriella broke free from her prison, her soft movements now stronger and more purposeful, the Three Lights could barely breathe...When she and the three male dancers practically tore the antagonist away from the chair, effectively defeating her…

Seiya immediately rose to his feet, shaking.

What...The...Hell!?

The three idols left the space to get ready for rehearsal. They were completely silent.

"How did...What...the…!?" Seiya couldn't believe it, the words coming out as mere stuttered utterances.

"Ginna did say the director was inspired by our music." Taiki frowned. "You don't think…She's trying to tell us something?"

The Three Starlights looked at each other silently. The only way to know for sure was to get through this madness. Thus they all agreed to participate in this crazy dance...In the hopes this would be a way of getting closer...To her…

Dancing was definitely harder than singing. Each starlight practiced with his double, mimicking movements. Many movements were simple enough. Yet, when it came time to practice with Gabriella, the movements got much more trickier...For they were required to do 'lifts'.

Lifting was a problem in itself. They spent several days just getting used to nearly throwing a girl over their heads. Like good students they watched their dance doubles perform the stunts with Gabriella then try to mimic them. It was a grueling process to say the least. By the time the week was over, the Starlights were beyond tired...How the hell did these dancers have so much energy!?

"Not bad for amateurs." Gabriella had approached them on the last day of rehearsals. "However, you're missing the acting part."

"Huh?" Seiya frowned at her. They were doing a dang good job given the fact that this was new territory. Now they had to act as well!?

She paused.

"Your music is all about...Finding someone right? Or sending out some kind of message…"

The Three Lights paused. She...had heard their music? Heard their message?

"An artist always does their research." Gabriella shrugged then frowned at them. "Whoever this person is...Pretend it's me. Pretend I'm the one you're singing for..And in the fourth number, when I finally break free and hear your message...Be happy yet serious at the same time, because we still have an enemy to finish off."

Taiki stared at her, his mind in overdrive. "Your character...Comes back stronger, doesn't she?"

Gabriella raised an eyebrow at him.

"So...You caught on…Impressive." She sighed. "The movements up to the capture are fluid and soft, almost princess-like, yet in the fourth number the movements are strong and hard. Throughout the entire piece, it's your jobs to protect me and help me gain strength to defeat the enemy." She stared at them with a hand at her hip. "Think you guys can at least pull that off?"

The Three Lights stared at one another silently. Seiya smiled at Gabriella.

"I think...We can definitely pull that off."

When the performance came and went, and the final curtain call was made, Gabriella once again approached the Three Lights. Still dressed in her final costume, she stared at them.

"Whoever this person is...I hope you find her." She said, startling them a bit. "Based on how you performed with me out there she seems like a lost treasure to you three…"

Yaten smiled. "That's...Putting it lightly."

Gabriella smiled back, the first smile she had given them after this whirlwind of a week was done.

"I have a feeling...She's waiting for the right moment to break free...I'd be patient if I were you. Word of advice: Don't rush a lady."

"Thanks...We'll keep that in mind." Seiya smiled back.

This whole process had given the Three Starlights new resolve...They would continue to sing for their lost princess, giving her strength through their lyrics so that one day...She would break free from her confines...And help them defeat their enemies.

For that is what a Senshi's resolve truly was...The resolve to steady the course…

The resolve...To keep fighting, keep searching...no matter what.
