The New Inkling in Inkopolis

This is my first story of Splatoon. Before reading, do note that there are a few characters in Splatoon 2 that i use and put them in Splatoon 1. This does not follow the events of the game or manga, this is only a custom story by me. So please take the time to read it and share your feedback to me. The New Inkling in Inkopolis

On a rainy day at an orphanage, a small Inkling was left at the doorstep as the person who left him rang the bell. The person left as quickly as she could as the door opened.

The owner sees the child and the note on him. She read it: *Please take care of Shadow. I can no longer watch him anymore.* The note didn't have the person's name on it. The owner took Shadow in and took care of him.

Years passed as Shadow was now at the age of 18. Inklings are now adapted to their human forms when they are at the age of 14 as they are ready to start their new lives in Inkopolis. He was still at the orphanage with a few Inklings in there. He was looking at the news about Turf Wars, Rank Battles, and Splatfests as he was excited about it.

The Inklings: Rider, Army, Aloha, Mask, Skull, and Emperor were watching him as they were the best of the best in both Turf Wars and Rank Battle. They came to him and took away the new paper from him.

"What gives?" Shadow asked and looked at them.

"You think you would be better than us. You are not even strong enough. So why do you just stay out, and never be in Turf Wars." Skull said and punched him.

Shadow put his hand in his face and tried to endure the pain.

The adoptive parents for the rest of the Inklings came for them and left the orphanage.

Shadow was the only one left as nobody would adopt him. He was now feeling better from the pain and felt alone. His life was treated differently since he had red pupils when he grew up. No other Inkling ever had red eyes.

The owner came to Shadow and handed him 500,000 coins to live in an apartment that is on the edge of Inkopolis. "Well I guess this place is going down since your last one here. So here's some money and the location to where you will live."

"Thanks…" Shadow said and took the money.

She even handed him his starter gear for Turf Wars and Rank Battles. His gear is an Octoling Goggles, Navy Eminence Jacket, and different Octoling Boots. His weapon is a Splattershot Jr. for starters. "They ran out of the basic gear and this is the only one in this place. Take good care of these."

"I will." He took them and looked at her.

"Well… Take care, Shadow." She left the orphanage put the *Closed for Good* sign up on the door.

Shadow walked out of the building and headed towards the apartments on the edge of Inkopolis. As dusk hits, he makes it to his apartment as he lives on the top near the end of the building. He spent half of his coins and only had enough to buy food. He went inside and looked around.

There was furniture in every room and one bedroom.

He closed the door behind him and walked around. After an hour of looking around, he looked at his gear and weapon. He was thinking about Skull's advice and felt like he can't trust anyone anymore. He thinks that everyone will turn against him. He sighed a little and placed his gear and weapon near his bed and was ready to go to sleep. "I'll show them that I can be the best of the best. I don't need anyone to help me." He went to sleep and felt determined and confident for tomorrow.

-The next day-

Shadow woke up early as he put on his gear. He also wears short with loose leggings. He feels like a new Inkling as he looks at himself in the mirror. He grabbed his weapon and left his apartment. He entered a subway train and began his new adventure in Inkopolis.

In Inkopolis, there were four stores the sells head gear, body gear, shoe gear, and weapons gear. In the alleyway, there is a person who will give you additional slots for your gears, shuffle your secondary abilities, and will try to help you get gear that you never had. Inklings were hanging out with each other, talking to each other, and are looking through the glass where Inkopolis' hosts and singers are at. The hosts and singer as the one and only: Squid Sisters. Marie is the green and black dress inkling who looks cool as a cucumber. Callie is the pink and black dress inkling who like extreme and crazy stuff. They sing their famous songs for all of Inkopolis as they made one song that everyone likes: Calamari Inkantation. There is also a cat that judges on which team wins or loses. He gives coins and one Super Sea Snail for those who wins 10 times.

Shadow and some Inkling got out of the subway and made it to Inkopolis. He looked around and was amazed by everything.

The large big screen on the tower turned on and the Squid Sisters were now on air.

They were talking about new Inklings that are now ready to start Turf Wars. They show what stages were available for the Turf War and Rank battle. They strike a pose as they are now off the air.

Shadow begins to walk towards the tower.

Some Inklings were looking at him as they know he's new around here.

He made it to the tower as he walked in it. He chose the Turf War button as it took him to a random Turf War match.

A team joined in and the match is now to begin.

The match took place in Moray Towers.

Shadow's ink color is now purple as the other team's color is green.

The team smirked as they thought they're going to win against a Lv. 1 Inkling.

The match started as Shadow started firing some ink on the floor.

The team decided to give him a minute head start before going.

Shadow covered 60% of the stage and has his Bubble ability ready.

1:30 minutes left.

The other team started firing their ink, but they got splatted by an unexpected Splat Bomb under them.

Shadow had already covered 80% of the stage as he was camping near the opponent's spawn point.

The team looked at him as they strategize a plan.

He sighed a little and hid in his ink as he swam slowly to them to prevent him from seeing his ripples as he swam.

They start firing ink at the same time as they jump.

Shadow uses his Bubble ability and shoots at all four of them.

They been splatted and the Turf War was now over.

Judd looked at the stage and showed a purple flag as Shadow won with 75.4% of turf inked and on the other team with 4.6% ink covered.

Shadow received 2,000 coins, leveled up to 2, and got secondary abilities on his gear. On his Octoling Goggles, he got Ink Recovery Up; on his Navy Eminence Jacket, he got Ink Saver (Main); and on his Octoling Boots, he got Ink Saver (Sub).

The other team was a little upset about losing, but they clapped for him and guessed this was just beginner's luck.

Shadow exited out of the tower and entered Sheldon's weapon store.

Sheldon is a weapons expert that sells weapons to those who leveled up. He sees Shadow and greets him in his store. "Hello there rookie."

"Hi." Shadow said and looked at him.

"You leveled up to 2, here's the available weapons for you." He shows a Custom Splattershot Jr. and the original Splattershot.

Shadow looks at the weapons and decides to buy both of them.

Sheldon nodded and gave him a price. "That will be 1,300 coins.

He handed the coins to Sheldon and grabbed both weapons. He leaves the shop and decides to use the Splattershot.

A few inklings that saw him in the Turf War wanted to be his friend. They were higher levels than him.

He avoided them and went back to the tower. He joined another Turf War and the battle ended up back at Moray Towers. His new opponents are the Blue Team.

Blue Team

The most idiotic team ever. Their teammate names are: Goggles, Specs*, Headphones, and Bobble Hat*.

Goggles is an Inkling Boy that often gets naked in public, likes to pull pants down, and never listens to anyone except for Bobble. He is a Level 30 and is ranked C-, He uses a Tentatek Splattershot weapon and wears a Pilot Goggles, an Armored Jacket Replica, and Hero Runner Replica.

Specs* is an Inkling male that some Inklings call him a nerd by his glasses, uses his knowledge, and is actually the team leader instead of Goggles. He is Level 39 and is ranked C+. He uses an Octobrush weapon and wears a Retro Specs, a Shirt and Tie, and a Plum Casuals.

Headphones is an Inkling Girl who acts as a big sister to the team, even though she is the same age as them. She is Level 35 and is ranked B-. She uses a Classic Squiffer and wears Studio Headphones, a B-ball Jersey, and Red Work Shoes.

Bobble is an Inkling Girl that always smiles, she always enjoys Goggles actions, and sometimes shows her eyes. She is Level 32 and is ranked C. She uses a Slosher and wears a Bobble Hat, a Green Zip Hoodie, and a Purple Sea Slug shoes.

Shadow looks at them and analyzes them. "I heard of these one. Team Blue, the most idiotic team ever to battle. I heard they sometimes win out of luck. How dumb." He said in his head.

The timer starts and both Shadow and the team start inking.

About halfway, Shadow managed to cover 55% of the stage as some were trying to hit him. He dodges all ink shots from them as he sends two Burst Bombs at Headphones.

Headphones got hit by both of them as she hides in her own ink to recover. "This guy is good. He dodged all my shots and never got hit. Let's hope the others got a good chance to hit him."

He sees Bobble and Specs* going at him as his special ability is now ready to be used.

Bobble and Specs* go towards him as they both use their ink against him.

He backflips away from them and he uses his Bomb Rush ability as he throws Burst Bombs at them.

They now were splatted by Shadow as Goggles and Headphones were the only ones to stand.

Goggles dive in his own ink avoiding the Burst Bombs.

Before Headphones had a chance to escape, Shadow threw a few Burst Bombs and shot a few inks and splatted her.

10 seconds left as Shadow as 76% and the Blue Team as 3.4%

Goggles use his Inkzooka Ability and shoot towers of ink at Shadow "Let's see if you can dodge this."

Shadow dodge them all as he covered the ink that was shot from the Inkzooka. He swims in his ink and splat Goggles.

Headphones, Specs, and Bobble respawned in three seconds as they fired a few inks before time was up.

Judd looked at the stage and showed an orange flag that Shadow won with 71.1% of turf covered.

Team Blue were a little surprised that they lose since they sometimes win out of dumb luck.

Shadow level up to 4 as his gear obtain the same perks as before. He won 4,000 coins and sighed a little.

Outside of the Turf Battle; Rider, Army, Aloha, Mask, Skull, and Emperor saw the whole battle as they were amazed. What they don't know is that it's Shadow in Turf Battle. The six of them have their own teams, But Army, Aloha, Mask, and Skull were now called the S4 since they are at S+, including Emperor and Rider.

Goggles came to Shadow and reached his hand to him. "That was a good battle."

Shadow only looked at him and walked away from them.

They were surprised that he didn't shake Goggle's hand as they came up to him.

"Looks like he's not a fan of handshakes." The Headphones said.

"I don't think it's the handshake that he hates." Specs said.

"So what is it then?" Bobble asked.

None of them don't really know.

"Well whatever it is, he didn't even give us his name." Goggles said.

Shadow made it back to Inkopolis as he headed towards Sheldon's store, but he was stopped by his enemies. He remembered them as he slowly clenched his fist.

"You must be a new Inkling around here. Welcome to Inkopolis." Rider said and reached his hand to him.

Shadow only just watches as he doesn't want to accept a handshake from them.

Rider pulled his arm back and presented the other five to him. "Well these are the best of the very best, including myself; Army, Aloha, Mask, Skull, Emperor, and i'm Rider. Together we are the S6.

They all give a peace sign to him.

Shadow crossed his arms and sighed quietly.

"So what's your name?" Rider asked.

Shadow only walked in between them and avoided the question. He processed to Sheldon's store.

They were curious about it as they looked at him and almost remembered something that was similar to them. They returned to their teams and went to Rank Battles.

Sheldon showed Shadow the next available weapons to him: Splat Charger, Splat Roller, Kelp Splat Charger, and Tentatek Splattershot.

Shadow only bought the Splat Charger and Roller for a cost of 2,000 coins. He now wields the Splat Roller.

Rider looks at Shadow from a distance and decides to challenge him as he approaches him. "Hey no name, how about you, me, and my team face each other to see if you are capable of Rank Battle?"

Shadow looked at them and nodded as he walked towards the tower.

Rider and his team followed and entered the Turf War with Shadow.

They are now battling in Arowana Mall as Shadow sees Rider's Team.

Team Yellow-Green

Item/Ability: Currently unknown, most likely the Triple Inkstrike attack. While it is a special weapon chain, it can be used by three Lime Team members

Rider, an S+, Level 50, male Inkling who likes to believe in himself while training, takes good care of his weapon, and sometimes battles alone with/without his team. He wears a Gear Headgear Fake Contacts, a Gear Clothing Black Inky Rider, and Gear Shoes Octoling Boots. He uses the Weapon Gold Dynamo Roller,

Stealth Goggles, A level 45, Rank A+, a male Inkling who likes to do some airsoft sports and follow Rider's orders. He wears the Gear Headgear Stealth Goggles, a Gear Clothing Camo Zip Hoodie, and Gear Shoes Pro Trail Boots. He uses the Weapon Jet Squelcher.

School Uniform, Level 47, Rank A, a female Inkling who attends school, is a class representative, and is good friends with Bamboo. She wears the Gear Headgear Squid Hairclip, a Gear Clothing School Uniform, and Gear Shoes School Shoes. She uses the Weapon .52 Gal Deco., but sometimes uses the Weapon Heavy Splatling.

Bamboo Hat, Level 42, Rank A, a female Inkling who wears the Gear Headgear Bamboo Hat, Gear Clothing Navy Striped LS, and Gear Shoes Blue Slip-Ons. She uses the weapon: Heavy Splatling.

The match started as everyone started spreading ink on the turf.

Shadow starts rolling ink on the turf and starts running as he covers his side.

Rider lets his team go first before he does. He begins to watch as he is trying to study in Shadow. "Let's see if no-name can take on long range weapons with his Splat Roller."

Team Green made it first to the middle and started covering the turf. Their special abilities are now in use.

Shadow splatted Stealth Goggles and Bamboo Hat together while they weren't looking. He throws a Suction Bomb near School Uniform as she comes up to the middle and got splatted when the Suction Bomb exploded near her. "Nice try."

Rider was surprised by it and his special ability was now ready to use. "Let's see if you can dodge this one instead of the Inkzooka." He uses his special ability: Inkstrike, sending a large missile of ink towards the sky and down towards Shadow.

He looks up and dodge the attack

The Inkstrike strikes down and a huge tower of ink covers 10% of the turf. There's only 1:30 remaining.

"Now use it!" Rider said and looked at his team.

Team Green use their signature attack: Triple Inkstrike, sending three Inkstrike in the air and targeting Shadow front and back.

Shadow swims near a hiding spot where Team Green won't find him and dodges the Triple Inkstrike.

Rider and his team begins covering the turf all over again. "Come on everyone, cover everything now while he is respawning."

Shadow came out of hiding and splatted the team, except Rider. "You're gonna have to try harder than that useless attack to splat me.

30 seconds remaining.

Rider uses his Golden Dynamo Roller to spread ink and try to hit Shadow. "So you can talk, tell me your name."

Shadow dodged the attack and swung his weapon at the Dynamo Roller and collided together. "You'll find out once I get my revenge on the six of you." He broke the collide and splatted Rider. He uses his special ability: Killer Wail, sending a straight laser towards the opponent's spawning point, giving Shadow time to send ink on the turf and covering Team Green's turf.

The match has ended. Judd looks at the turf and pulls out a blue flag giving Shadow the win with 60% turf covered and Green team 35% turf covered.

Shadow leveled up to 7 and is allowed to participate in Rank Battles. His gear obtains the same perks and has a quadruple stack with each gear. He won 5,000 coins and got ⅙ part of his revenge.

Rider couldn't believe that he lost for the first time. He was still puzzled by Shadow when he remembered the words: Revenge on the six of you. "Does he know the S6? Did we know him before? Looks like I have to warn the others about this." He said in his head and pulled out his phone to text the rest of S6 about what happened.

Everyone who watched was surprised that someone was able to defeat a member of S6.

"We...we lost Rider…" Stealth Goggles said and looked at Rider.

"I'm afraid so, my team." Rider said and only looked at Shadow in the distance.

"How can a low level like him be able to defeat us higher levels?" Bamboo Hat said.

"I don't know, but something tells me that he's going to be harder for all of us to defeat."

Shadow looks at Rider and walks to the Inkopolis square. He went back to Sheldon's weapon shop and went in front of him. "I would like to buy the Krack-On Roller please."

Sheldon handed him the roller, received the coins, and looked at him. "I see you defeated Rider. You must be lucky to win against him."

"I don't believe in luck. All I care about is defeating the rest of the S6."

"Well you better train harder. Rider was only just the beginning, the S4 will challenge you before you face the king of them all: Emperor."

"I'll keep that in mind."

Sheldon stopped him, "Can you at least tell you name? I won't tell anyone."

Shadow sighed a little and cleared his throat. "My name is Shadow."

"Shadow. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for stopping by."

Shadow walked out and headed back to the tower and entered a Rank Battle.

This Rank Battle is hosting a Rainmaker. In Rainmaker, both teams compete to snag the Rainmaker. Once you've got it, the goal is to carry it into the other team's base! So as soon as the battle begins, grab that Rainmaker! It's guarded by a shield, though, so you'll need to bust it out first. Once you snag it, head for the other team's base. And be quick about it! If you run out of time or get splatted, the Rainmaker will be dropped. Its shield will also reactivate. The Rainmaker is crazy heavy, so you can't Super Jump while carrying it. Your teammates will have to watch your back! The Rainmaker can also shoot ink like an Inkzooka, so you can clear a path! The closer you get to the enemy base while holding the Rainmaker, the lower your goal distance will drop. If the battle ends without anyone carrying the Rainmaker to the goal, the team with the lowest goal distance will win! The winning team will earn double the coins if they get a perfect win

Shadow is now going up against Team blue again and is ready to use his favorite weapon. He has studied on the Rainmaker battles and come up with some skills and shortcuts to get to the enemy base closer. This stage in this Rainmaker battle is Port Mackerel.

The match started as everyone headed towards the Rainmaker.

"Don't let him get that Rainmaker!" Specs said and used his Octobrush to head full speed towards the middle.

Goggles also went full speed and headed towards the sides to cut off Shadow.

However, Shadow was waiting for him and splatted Goggles with the roller.

Team Blue destroyed the shield that covers the Rainmaker and Headphones took it.

He splatted Bobble and Specs behind her and tried to make her back towards their base.

The Rainmaker's countdown is going down faster as Headphones are trying to hit Shadow and coming closer.

Team Blue respawned back and was trying to hit Shadow.

As Team Blue was close together, the Rainmaker's timer went down to zero and exploded; splatting Team Blue together, leaving Shadow unharmed.

Shadow destroyed the shield, carried the Rainmaker and placed it on its pedestal and the match ended with half of five minutes.

Judd judges the battle and shows a green flag to Shadow.

Shadow wins 16,000 coins, by getting a perfect win allows him to earn double the coins. He moved up from Rank C- to A-. He leveled up to 10 and is allowed to get two star gears in shops.

Team Blue were a little upset that they lost again, but they are still in the fun of it.

Goggles came up to Shadow and still wanted to offer him a handshake. "Well good match no-name."

Shadow still ignored him and walked away.

Specs was already getting annoyed by it and had to say something. "What's your problem man?"

"Specs!" Headphones said.

Shadow stopped where he was and didn't look at them.

"You never spoke when you beat us again. We want to know who you are and why you are in a bad mood!" Specs exclaimed and wanted to know.

"You'll soon learn who I am. Right now, all I care about is getting my revenge on the S6. For now, leave me be." Shadow said and kept walking.

Specs was already getting tired of it as he ran full speed at him and ready his Octobrush.

Shadow heard him coming behind him and used his roller to trip him and he slammed him down to the ground.

Specs' weapon was disarmed from him and felt a little pain on his back from the slam.

"Don't even try to figure out who I am. Patience is key. Surely a leader like you should know that." Shadow said and put away his weapon and walked away from Team Blue.

Team blue came to Specs to see if he's ok as they look at Shadow.

"You alright Specs?" Goggles asked.

"Yeah just… a little back pain that taught me a lesson." Specs said.

"What do you think he means by *Revenge on the S6*?" Headphones asked.

"I don't know, but something tells me that we aren't safe around him. We have to keep our guard up the next time we battle him again."

Shadow made it to Inkopolis and felt his stomach growling. He looked around for a restaurant and found one nearby the stores. He walked inside and sat down in the corner alone. He looked through the menu and found his favorite dessert: Strawberry Sundae. He ordered it and waited.

Two tables away from Shadow, The S6 were discussing Shadow as they tried to figure out who he was.

"So you guys got any ideas who he is?" Rider asked.

"Not a clue." Army said.

"Nope." Aloha said.

"Nah." Mask said.

"No." Skull said.

"Negative." Emperor said,

"There's something suspicious about him, but he won't let us know his name. He knows us, but we don't know him." Rider said.

"We can't just let him overpower us, we are the best of the very best. We are the S6, the supreme team." Army said.

"You right Army, how about you give him a try? See if you can find any weak points so we can defeat him easily." Emperor asked.

"Sure why not. After all, in my team, winning is everything."

Shadow's Strawberry Sundae came to him as he started eating it. He keeps his head low and makes sure that the Octoling Goggles won't slide off of him.

Rider gets a notification from Goggles as he tells Rider that Specs was hurt by Shadow. "Check this out. Team Blue said that their leader was hurt when he tried to sneak attack no name from behind and was slammed on the ground."

"That would teach him a lesson." Skull said as he was eating his dessert.

"Hey you still dating that Headphones girl from Team Blue?" Aloha asked.

"We're… starting to get towards that. We're just working up from being friends."

"What about you Mask, are you starting dating that Bobble Hat girl from Team Blue?"

"We're still dating, she just wants to stay as friends until she says we're ready to be boyfriend and girlfriends." Mask said.

Shadow finished and left 150 coins on the table. He walked out and headed towards the tower.

The S6 finished eating as the Army came up to Shadow and took a deep breath. "Hey no name, you ready to face the second member of S6, Army?"

Shadow nodded and headed towards the tower and entered a turf war.

Army and his team joined in and entered the Turf war as well.

The next stage is Flounder Heights.

Shadow's ink color is yellow as he looks at the Army and his team.

Team Orange

A team of Orange Inklings wearing the same headgear, a Gear Headgear Special Forces Beret. They are all very punctual and also clean up themselves after their battles

Item/Ability: Inkling Army Manual: They follow their own Inkling Manual to read their enemy's actions and tactics. It works every time, except when something unexpected happens or no tactic is involved

Army, Rank S+, Level 50, a male Inkling, who applies his own face paint and comes from a noble family. He wears the Gear Clothing Forge Inkling Parka, and Gear Shoes Punk Cherries. He uses the Weapon Main N-ZAP '85.

B-Sailor, Rank A+, Level 47, a male Inkling who wears the Gear Clothing Blue Sailor Suit, and Gear Shoes Shark Moccasins. He uses the Weapon Main Splatterscope.

Forge Octarian Jacket, Rank A, Level 45, a female Inkling who wears the Gear Clothing Forge Octarian Jacket and Gear Shoes Punk Whites. She uses the Weapon Main Rapid Blaster.

W-Sailor, Rank A+, Level 46, a female Inkling who wears the Gear Clothing White Sailor Suit and Gear Shoes Mawcasins. She uses the Weapon Main Dual Squelcher.

The battle begins as Shadow starts covering 30% of the turf on his side.

Team Orange covered 50% of the turf and made it to the top of the apartments. They pull out their manuals as they copy off every battle they do and learn every tactic. They put their manuals away and waited.

Shadow rolled up to the top and saw Team Orange.

"Well no name, on my team, we learn all tactics from our previous battles and we can win without being splatted. So how a little trick that you can't hide from." Army said and uses his special ability: Echolocation, an ability to show where the opponents are hiding or going to be.

Shadow looked at the ring around him and looked at Army. "Who's saying anything about hiding fools." He said and went towards them.

The Orange team starts shooting ink at Shadow and hopes to hit him.

Shadow dodge every shot and splatted B-Sailor and W-Sailor.

Army was surprised and dodged his attack. He quickly pulled out his manual again and wrote down some tips. "Note: Opponents will sometimes attack when Echolocation is on them."

Forge Octarian Jacket tried to splat him from afar, but he quickly ran towards her and splat her too.

1:30 minutes remaining.

Shadow covered 65% of the turf, leaving Team Orange with 34% of turf covered.

Army climbed up to the top and tried to get a lucky hit on Shadow. "I've heard you defeated Rider as you talked to him. So tell me what's your name?"

"Why are you concerned about my name? Surely you and the rest of the S6 should know who I am." Shadow said and made Army trip from his roller.

Team Orange respawned back and hurried up to the top.

"I heard everything from the six of you back at the diner. Don't think that you can defeat me from your stupid manual. There's nothing you can't learn from me. Take that as a piece of advice, like you said back at the orphanage." He said and splat Army with one swing.

Team Orange witnessed it and couldn't do anything since they followed Army's orders.

Shadow uses his special ability: Kraken, turning him into a Kraken form as he swims towards Team Orange, spins in the air, and splatted them in an instant.

30 seconds remaining.

Army respawned and tried to figure out what he meant. "Back at the Orphanage? Is he hinting little about him?"

Shadow had 76% of turf covered and Orange team with 22% turf covered.

Orange team regroup together and try to attack Shadow together

As they shot multiple times at Shadow, he grabbed Forge Octarian Jacket and used her as a body shield.

Army was surprised and had never seen this tactic before. "I..is that even possible?"

Shadow threw her at W-Sailor and B-Sailor off the edge as their weapons were disarmed from them. He threw his roller at Army and knocked him back off the edge with his team.

Army was surprised and never felt defeated before. "Is this what losing feels like?" He asked and looked up on the top and saw Shadow.

"Not even you can stop me, Army. It's over now!" Shadow jumped off and turned into his Kraken ability and splatted the whole Team Orange.

The Turf war is over. Shadow won with 82% of turf covered and Team Orange lost with 14% of turf covered.

The whole S6 saw everything as they were surprised by it. They somewhat knew the Army would lose to Shadow as they began to fear that soon they would lose to him.

Shadow won 18,000 coins and leveled up to 12. He looked at the Army for a little and walked out of the stage. He got 2/6 of his revenge completed.

Army felt defeated and was shocked. "I...I lost...!"

"He uses tactics that we have never seen before. Can he be strong enough to defeat the S6?" Forge Octarian Jacket asked.

"We'll see, but right now, take note of what happened. Note: Don't let the enemy use us as body shields and the enemy will charge when Echolocation is on them." He said and took quick notes on the manual.

Team Orange wrote the notes on their manuals as well. They left the stage as well and admitted defeat.

Shadow a lot of coins as he decided to get a phone. He bought the latest one with a cost of 20,000 coins. He starts getting friend requests like crazy as he turns off his phone and ignores it.

Aloha was in one of the stores and saw Shadow in the distance. "Well no name. Seems like Army and Rider aren't much of a challenge for you. Looks like I need to see this in person for myself." He said,

A different team green came into the clothing store as Aloha had an idea.

An hour later.

Shadow is now facing a different team green.

The stage that their battling is in Blackbelly Skate Park.

Team Green doesn't know that one of the teammates is Aloha in disguise.

Aloha grinned a little and lifted up the Jungle Hat a little. "Time to test you out and see if you are worth the trouble for me." He said quietly.

The match started as everyone started spreading ink.

Shadow inked 40% of the turf and made it to the middle of the stage. He splatted Beanie and Cleats when they were trying to hit him.

Backwards uses his Sloshing Machine to try to hit him first then uses his Special Ability: Bomb Rush (Splat Bombs) and throws Splat Bombs at Shadow.

Shadow used his roller and batted the bomb away from him. His roller turned Backwards' bombs into his own and sent them back at Team Green.

Aloha dodges the bombs and knows that it wasn't going to be easy to defeat Shadow.

1 minute and 30 seconds remaining.

Backwards, along with Beanie and Cleats, were splatted by the bombs. Leaving Aloha alone.

Shadow had 72% of the turf covered with a little help with the bombs, and Team Green 15% of the turf covered.

Aloha climbed up the tower and tried to shoot a few shots at Shadow.

Shadow grabbed the .52 Gal and swung his roller at him, but Aloha grabbed at it as well and they struggled with each other.

"I never knew that you were able to defeat Rider and Army. You really are something else, right no name?" Aloha asked.

"I already know that it's you Aloha." Shadow said and knows it's him since the beginning of the battle.

"H..how?"

"I know that there's one inkling who wears the Crazy Arrow shoes and has a .52 Gal weapon. Your stolen disguise doesn't fool me." Shadow said and put more strength against Aloha as he got him on his knees.

Aloha was trying his best to push back, but couldn't. He let go of the Krak-On Roller and quickly dodge the attack.

50 seconds remaining.

Team Green respawned and quickly painted the turf.

Shadow uses the .52 Gal's special ability: Killer Wail and aimed it at Team Green and splatted Cleats and Beanie. He tossed the weapon back to Aloha.

Backwards teamed up with Aloha and looked at Shadow. "We gotta win this. Are you with me on this Safari Hat?" He asked Aloha.

Aloha held his weapon tightly and nodded. "Certainly."

Both tried to land a hit against Shadow, but he kept dodging the attacks.

Shadow's ability is now ready as he used his Kraken ability and splatted Backwards. He chased after Aloha.

Aloha dodged the attacks and the match ended.

Judd looked at the stage and showed a purple flag giving Shadow that win with 80% of turf covered and Team Green with 10% of turf covered. Shadow was given 20,000 coins and didn't level up.

Shadow looked at Team Green and walked away.

Aloha quickly left Team Green and returned the stolen gear back to the current Safari Hat user. He united with his Team Pink and discussed what happened.

Everyone who was watching was impressed by it and wanted Shadow to be their teammate. The S6 watched everything and was a little scared that Shadow can use the opponents' special ability.

Shadow got a text from Aloha saying, *Impressive work no name, but I think we should have a proper battle at the Mahi-Mahi Resort. Just me and my Team Pink against you. See you there.*

"Fool, doesn't he know who he's messing with?" He asked himself and headed to the location.

Team Pink were relaxing next to the pool while listening to some music.

Shadow made it and looked at the hotel next to him. "Nice place." He looked at the stage that is located in the middle of the large pool and sees parts of floors that are hidden in the water. "The stage changes when the timer is halfway. Seems that's my advantage point there." He said in his head and looked at Team Pink.

Aloha sees him and smiles, "Well if it isn't no name, what a pleasant surprise that you can battle me."

"Just to let you know that I took it easy on you with those weak Team Green. But this time, you won't be dodging when I get you." Shadow said.

"We'll see about that. Why don't we start this battle then?"

"Agreed."

The teams super jumped to their spawning points as Shadow is Blue and Team Pink remains Pink.

Everyone in Inkopolis was watching the battle as the S6 were watching next to the pool.

The match started as Shadow ink his section of the stage and Team Pink ink their section and made it to the middle.

"You think Aloha will be able to defeat him, Emperor?" Rider asked as he watched the battle.

"Only time will tell. If he was able to defeat you and Army, maybe we got someone to challenge against." Emperor said and crossed his arms.

Shadow got 40% of turf covered and Team Pink got 45% of turf covered. He made it to the middle and stood away from Team Pink as he looked at them.

2 minutes left.

"You've been causing a lot of trouble with the S6 ever since you started doing turf war. I will always be the freshest Inking out of the gang. Now that I'm with my team, we can show you our signature tactic. We always win with this. It's called: Disco Ball Dance!" Aloha said and Team Pink started dancing around as they started spreading ink as they kept moving.

Shadow started covering Team Pink's turf and trying to hit them. He was lucky to splat Snorkel and Octoglasses as he looked at Straw and Ahola.

Straw tries to splat Shadow, but they collide weapons and struggle with each other. She felt a hand behind her as he broke from each other and she was tossed into the water.

Shadow looked back at Aloha and saw the Killer Wail in front of him.

"Seems i got you cornered no-name, just according to plan. Nowhere to run. Time to show the style of Team Pink and the S6!" Aloha said and used the Killer Wail at Shadow.

He looked around and couldn't find a way to dodge the attack. He saw the platform underwater as he held his roller tightly and fell in the water, just in time before the beam of the Killer Wail hit him. He dived under the stage and ready his roller under Aloha.

Aloha looked around and smirked as he laughed. "I did it, I defeated no-name. Now we can take the turf for ourselv…" He then was splatted by Shadow unexpectedly as he went back to the spawn point. "WHAT?! HOW?!"

1:30 left. The additional stage from inside the pool comes up above.

Shadow was on the moving platform as he held his roller tightly. He spat water from his mouth. "Don't get too cocky. Always expect the unexpected." He said,

Everyone and the S6 were shocked by what they saw on how Shadow came up from the water and not back to his spawn point.

The Team Pink respawned as Aloha was the only one moving.

"What are you guys doing? We can't just stay here and let him win." Aloha said.

"Did you see him raised up from the water? There's no Inkling like that can easily survive in water. He is something else. We can't win against him." Octoglasses said and sat in the spawn point.

Straw also sat down and couldn't support back.

Snorkel was next to Aloha and patted his back. "I can still help." He said,

Aloha nodded and went back to battle with Snorkel.

50 seconds left.

Shadow had 67% of Turf covered and Team Pink had 13% of turf covered.

"You know no-name, that was uncool on what you did. But still, you're really worth the challenge for the S6 and I." Aloha said and tried to splat Shadow.

Shadow dodges and splatted Snorkel. He and Aloha struggle with their weapons again and try to see which one of them is stronger. "Why do you need your team if you just stick with the S6? They never came to help you at all. It's just like being back at the orphanage."

"My team put more trust that I can win against you. That's why no-name."

"Trust is for the weak." Shadow said and everyone who was watching it heard what he said, even Team Pink. He broke from their clash and slammed Aloha to the ground. He throws his Sub Weapon: Squid Beakon, up into the air and super jumps towards it. Before he was about to use his Kraken ability, his special ability gave him something new. A large circle appeared below him and around Aloha. He speeds down quickly and ground pound on Aloha, causing a large burst of Shadow's ink to go to some parts of the stage. This was the first time that Splashdown was invented.

Aloha was splatted and returned to the spawn point.

Shadow stood up and crossed his arms. "I was wrong to expect a challenge from the so called: Freshest squid on the block."

The match has now ended.

Judd looked around and showed a blue flag, giving Shadow the win with 77% of turf covered and Team Pink with 12% of turf covered. Shadow was given 40,000 coins, leveled up to 15, and got 3/6 of his revenge .

Aloha kneeled down and kept looking down. "H-how? How could he be that strong? Trust is weak…" He was then hugged by his team as he looked back at them.

"We're sorry for not helping. After he said that, we felt bad for what we did and we will always help you out." Straw said.

Aloha smiled and got back up. "Thanks guys, that really means a lot."

Shadow looked at them and jumped in the water. He walked under the water and came up from the pool. He took off his Octoling Boots and dumped the water from them. He took off his jacket and fanned off the water on it. He kept his eyes closed and lifted his Octoling Goggles up a little. He put his gear back on and headed back to Inkopolis.

Sun was about to set as everyone was now heading home. Emperor invited the S6 for a sleepover to discuss what happened today.

Shadow went to the store to get a few things so he could eat tonight and headed back to his apartment. He took off his jacket and boots and left his goggles on in case anybody was looking through the windows. He turned on the tv and put on the channel where the Squid Sisters are now talking about the events of what happened today.

"During the events of today, there seems to be a dark seahorse that is defeating the three member of the S6. This inkling who is wearing some sort of strange gear that none of us have seen before, can dodge everything, swim in water, and have some sort of hatred against the S6." Callie said.

"Nobody seems to know what his name is, but he keeps on saying that the S6 knows him. Even though S6 doesn't know him. Everybody refers to him as: No-name. Maybe soon we shall know who he is and why against the S6." Marie said.

"Stay tuned everybody and remember to stay fresh as always." Callie said and the show ended.

At the large luxury mansion where the Emperor lives, the S6 were looking at the TV and are talking about what happened today.

"Why is this happening? We were supposed to be the best of the very best. Who is he?" The Army asked and is getting frustrated.

"Alright calm down, so what has he told you so far when you three were battling him?" Skull asked.

"He kept on saying about the orphanage." Rider said.

"He kept saying that we know him, even though we don't know." Army said.

"He believes that trust is always for the weak." Aloha said.

"Seems like he doesn't trust anyone. That's why he battles alone." Emperor said,

"Ok think. All six of us were at the orphanage before we were adopted, who do you think he is?" Mask asked.

"You don't think it's Shadow that might be doing this?" Rider asked.

"Not really, he's probably alone out there. Like we care about him, he was a red eyed freak anyway." Skull said and got a message from Headphones

"But remember, he's wearing those strange goggles that cover his eyes. If it is him, then he's the one that is causing us trouble.

"True. But we need to get those goggles away from him, in order to know." Aloha said.

"Looks like i'll be next then." Mask said.

"You sure you can take him on as you with your *Sub Weapon usage Only*?"

"It's strategy. Besides, the only thing that will get him to slow down is with sub weapons. That'll be my opportunity to steal the goggles and strike."

"Cunning move indeed. "We'll have to see what tomorrow will be like before the King's Cup Tournament will start soon. Something tells me that he will make us regret it." Emperor said,

The S6 went to bed and rested for tomorrow.

Shadow finished eating his dinner and yawned a little. He closed the blinds down a little and removed his goggles. He went to the bathroom and looked at himself in the mirror. "3 out of 6 memebers are defeated. The other three will be tricky to defeat. But none of them prevailed to beat me." He said and looked at his goggles in his hand. "Once the King's Cup Tournament comes in, then I'll show them who I am." He went to his bedroom and placed his goggles on his nightstand. He went to bed and fell asleep.

The next morning.

Shadow woke up early and went to go eat breakfast. He got a message from his phone as the addresser wasn't on it. He looked at the message seeing: *Greetings! We're a team with great respect for you No-Name. We'd be honored to have a Turf War with you! We'll be waiting for you at Walleye Warehouse! Hyuk! We can't wait to meet you!* "I know one Inkling who keeps using the sound *Hyuk* all the time, Mask!" He said and finished eating. He wore his gear and put on his Octoling Goggles. He grabbed his Krack-On Roller and went back to Inkopolis Plaza. He went to the Walleye Warehouse and looked around. He sees jellyfish working in the warehouse and as the stage was in front of him. He also saw Inklings were also about to watch the next turf war happen.

The Squid Sisters were also watching as they were recording.

Shadow sees Mask in front and stops in place.

"Well look who decided to come after falling for a trick of a message." Mask said and looked at him.

"I already know it was you who sent it." Shadow said.

"What?! How?!"

"Don't use the word *Hyuk* in the message, everyone knows that you always make the sound."

Mask was getting a little frustrated as he calmed himself. "Whatever. Anyways, I hate Inklings who enjoy life. The one reason I want to battle you is so I can show everyone who you are!"

"Tell me, do you truly believe you can win?" Shadow asked and is doubting him.

"Of course I will win. You won't get past my best strategy."

"We'll see." Shadow super jumps to the spawn point and his ink color is pink.

Mask and his team super jumped to their spawn point and they stayed the color Cyan.

Shadow was now analyzing Team Cyan.

Item/Ability: Sub Weapon Hell (SW Jigokuda) All Cyan Members use Sub Weapons only, instead of Main Weapons. They get together outside practice, often to play games or read comics. It is said by the Squid Sisters that Mask can take anyone down without even "swinging his weapon".

Shadow and Team Cyan begin covering their turf as they got 35% of their own trufs covered.

The S6 were also watching on the television as they had little doubt that Mask would win against Shadow.

Shadow's Octoling Goggles hidden effects are now activated and allows him to see the hidden Ink Mines and Sub Weapons. He throws his Squid Beakons on the Ink Mines as they explode.

Mask was surprised by it and didn't think about this. "How does he know where the Ink Mines were? That can't be possible."

Shadow splatted Full Moon Glasses and School Jersey when they were hiding. He sees a Sub Weapon: Disruptor flying towards him as he grabbed it before it was about to break on the ground.

Mask looked at him concerned as he tilted his head. "What is he doing?"

Shadow pulled out the cork and poured the liquid into his mouth.

Everyone who watched were both surprised and shocked that Shadow is drinking the Sub Weapon.

"You are not supposed to drink the Disruptor!" Mask exclaimed.

Shadow begins to slush the liquid in his mouth as it begins to turn to pink mist. He blew out the mist as it covered some parts of the stage. "Who said anything about drinking it?" He said he hides in the mist.

Designer Headphones and Mask united together as they were each other's back looking through the mist.

What they don't notice is that their ink tanks are slowly beginning to drain.

Shadow took out D. Headphones and left Mask alone.

"You think you can hide in this mist. Think again." Mask begins to use his special weapon: Bomb Rush (Seekers) and sends tons of Seeker bombs around.

The seeker bombs detected Shadow as they went after him.

Shadow climbed and dodge the bombs as he was on the container.

1 minute remaining. Shadow had 53% of turf covered and Team Cyan had 44% of turf covered.

Team Cyan respawned in and the Ink Mist lifted.

Mask went after Shadow and used his Carbon Roller to try to hit Shadow's Goggles off.

Shadow dodges and uses his Krack-On Roller to clash with Mask's roller. "Impressive, I didn't think that you were able to detect me with those kinds of bombs." He said,

"That's part of my team's signature attack: Sub Weapon Armageddon. Now tell me who you are so we all can know what's behind those goggles."

"You can try all you want to know, but that would be impossible for you. You and the rest of the S6 should already know who I am."

"Then how about I take those goggles off then!" Mask leans in to grab the goggles.

Shadow arch back and grabbed Mask's gas mask. "How about you?" He pulled the mask away from Mask. He also took the Carbon Roller Deco away from him as well.

Mask backed away a little and everyone saw what Mask looked like under. He looked at Shadow and saw his tentacle hair begin to sparkle.

"Patience is key Mask, Wait till the King Cup Tournament and then I'll show you. Shadow said and used the Bomb Rush Ability on Mask and Team Cyan.

Team Cyan and Mask were splatted together and 75% of turf is covered by Shadow.

Shadow threw back the Gas Mask and the Carbon Roller to Team Cyan's spawn point.

30 seconds remaining.

Team Cyan and Mask repawned back.

Mask wore his gear back and held his Carbon Roller. He started running towards Shadow as he tried to roller over Shadow without swinging his roller. "How dare you show my face to everyone?!"

Shadow dodges and sees Team Cyan behind him. He splatted them first then went back to the battle against Mask.

"If it's you Shadow, you'll regret fighting against us." Mask said and was left open.

Shadow slammed Mask to the middle of the stage and threw his Squid Beakon in the air and super jumped towards it. He uses his Special Ability: Splashdown again like what he did to Aloha and splatted Mask when he ground pounded on him.

Mask went back to the spawn point.

Shadow stood up and crossed his arms. "If i was him, I have no regrets."

The match ended.

Judd looked at the stage and showed a pink flag giving Shadow the win with 80% of turf covered and Team Cyan with 12% of turf covered. Shadow leveled up to 17, obtained 40,000 coins, and got 4/6 of his revenge.

Mask felt defeated by Shadow as he looked at him. "I.. I lost…"

"There's no need to be ashamed about Mask, at least you give us some details so we can counter attack him." Emperor said and patted his back.

"I couldn't take his goggles off when I had the chance. We need to know who he is and end this quickly."

"Skull is next anyway and besides, there's no way that No-Name could ever reach him. He is one of our best scope users that we have."

Shadow went back to Inkopolis Plaza and stretched a little. "4 out of 6 of my revenge is nearly completed. Skull and Emperor are the only one i need to defeat." He said and saw Judd near him. He came up to him and petted him.

Judd purred a lot as he gave Shadow 18 Super Sea Snails for leveling up and 7 more for petting him.

Shadow went to a small alley next to him and saw a tall person relaxing on the corner.

This person's name is Spyke, a dealer who will help get gears in needed by calling him and trade Super Sea Snails for adding an additional perk to the gear or reroll to get different or perfect perks.

Shadow came up to him and handed 3 snails to him. "I want you to reroll my perks on my gear."

Spyke sat up and took the snails from him. He used some sort of ability to change the perks on the gear somehow and made all perks, including the primary ones to a complete Run Speed Up Perks. "There you go, is there any other gear you want to upgrade or reroll?" He asked.

"No, this will do."

"See you later then." He went back to relaxing.

Shadow now has the full on ability to run faster now with or without his roller. He walked out of the alleyway and held his roller.

Skull came up to him and stood in front of him. "Sup No-Name." He said,

"The Assassin from Team Purple, what do you want?" Shadow asked and gave Skull a new nickname.

"I've come to challenge you to a turf war. You may have defeated the other four, but that doesn't mean you can defeat me or Emperor."

"You really wanted to be defeated, don't you?" Shadow asked.

"It's not me that will be defeated. I'll make sure that S6 will prevail." Skull said and feels real determined about it.

Shadow sighed a little and already relaxed enough. "How's Moray Towers sound for you?"

"That stage is my favorite."

Skull and Shadow went back to Moray Towers as Team Purple was waiting for Skull.

Skull went with his team and looked at Shadow. "Are you ready to be defeated by me? The second to last member of the S6." Skull asked.

"You think your pride will help you in this one? I doubt it, eyebrowless freak." Shadow asked.

"How do you know that?"

"You were born like that, when we were at the orphanage."

"Enough of this *Back to the orphanage* thing. I'll expose you to everyone once I get those goggles off of you."

"We'll see." Shadow super jumps to his spawn point as his ink color is now green.

Skull and team Purple super jumped to their spawn point and remained the color purple.

A helicopter pulled to the scene and inside were the Squid Sisters and a few cameras are now recording.

Shadow analyzed Skull and Team Purple.

The match started as both teams started inking their own turf. Both are now at 40% even as Shadow looked at Skull and his team.

Skull had his weapon fully charged and ready as he scoped on Shadow. "I'm not going to splat you yet. I'm planning on hitting off those goggles to see your face." He said in his head and was ready.

Shadow leaped off and landed on the central area as he started spreading ink all over.

Team Purple tried their best to land a hit on Shadow, but not one of them was lucky to hit him.

Shadow splatted Aviators and Stitch together and dodge the shot from Skull.

Skull got a little frustrated as he charged another shot.

Shadow splatted Paisley and now covered the central area of the stage.

Shadow covered 55% of turf inked and Team Purple covered 45% of turf inked.

Skull's tentacle hair sparkled as he was ready to use his Kraken ability. "You're making a big mistake, No-Name. I will show everyone who you are once I get those goggles off of you."

"Let's see what you got, Assassin." Shadow ran towards Skull.

Skull shoots again, but Shadow dodges the attack. He goes to his Kraken form and goes towards Shadow.

Shadow uses his Kraken Ability too and starts fighting against Skull.

Both fight against each other as they fought in the central area.

Shadow pushed Skull to the edge of the stage and made him fall off.

Skull returned to the spawn point.

Shadow's Kraken ability ran out and went back to his human form. He grabbed his roller and continued on covering the turf.

Team Purple went down to the second layer of the stage as they stopped Shadow.

Skull respawned back and stayed on top of the first layer. He scoped in on Shadow as his weapon charge is now full.

Shadow splatted only Aviator as Stitch and Paisley dodge down and fell to the third stage.

Skull took the shot and finally hit the goggles off of Shadow.

Shadow had his eyes closed and pulled his hood over his head. "How dare you!" He looked at Skull on top.

The S6 members and everyone watched and were surprised that a hit was now landed on Shadow.

Shadow covered the third stage and looked at Skull in the distance.

Skull shoots a couple of times at Shadow.

Shadow dodged the attacks and looked at the wall leading up towards Skull. With his 12x Speed Run Up perks, he starts wall running towards Skull.

Skull was shocked by this as his Skull Bandana fell a little.

Shadow reached Skull, disarmed his weapon from him and tossed him to the central area with Paisley and Stitch were at. He tossed his Squid Beacon above Skull and super jumped above him. "This ends now, Assassin!" He uses his Splashdown ability and splatted Skull, Paisley, and Stitch and repainted the central, third and second layers.

Skull, and the rest of Team Purple returned to the spawn point.

Shadow stood up and crossed his arms. "Your pride as an assassin means nothing to me!"

The match ended.

Judd looked at the stage and showed a green flag, giving Shadow the win.

Shadow won with 87% of turf covered and Team purple with 10% of turf covered. He won with 50,000 coins, leveled up to 20, and got ⅚ of his revenge completed.

Skull was now shocked that he both lost and didn't get a chance to see Shadow's face under the hood.

The S6 were now beginning to be afraid that they are now losing.

Shadow looked around and found his goggles laying next to him. He picked him up and saw a crack on the right side of his goggles. He closed his eyes and pulled his hood down. He put on his goggles and opened his eyes. He left Moray Towers and went back to Inkopolis.

Emperor stood in front of the entrance and clapped his hands slowly. "Well done No-Name, I never figured that you would be able to defeat all five members of S6."

"What do you want?" Shadow asked and crossed his arms.

Emperor reached into his inner coat pocket and pulled out an envelope and handed it to Shadow. "You're invited to my party. It's a celebration for the anniversary of the King Cup Tournament this year."

Shadow took it and looked inside of the envelope and saw an invitation in it.

"See you tonight, No-Name." Emperor said and walked away.

"What plot do you have for me?" He asked himself and put the envelope in his inner coat pocket.

Rider came to Shadow and tapped his shoulder. "Hey No-Name. You, me, in a Rainmaker battle, Now!"

"You do not have what it takes and never will." Shadow said.

"I've trained hard to understand your Krak-On Roller and now I'm ready to face you again."

"You never learn, don't you?"

Shadow and Rider went to a rank battle as they went to the stage: Saltspray Rig, an Ocean Oil building.

Team Yellow-Green were waiting for Rider as they wanted a rematch.

"Do you really believe you can win this time?" Shadow asked.

"I may have not put trust in my team, but I still band with them. Unlike you No-Name, I have friends." Rider said and looked at him.

"I have no allies for me. Just like at the orphanage, remember Rider?"

Rider was already getting annoyed by the whole orphanage thing as he held his Gold Dynamo Roller tighter. "What's with you and the orphanage? I don't know who you are back then, but I will once I get those goggles off of you."

"Skull may be lucky to land a single blow, but I will not be fooled twice. Now let's get this over with."

Shadow super jumped to his spawn point as his ink color is now orange.

Team Yellow-Green and Rider stay the same color as they are ready.

The match began as both teams went for the Rainmaker.

Team Yellow-Green made it to the Rainmaker first as Rider took the weapon.

Shadow covered his area and 50% of the area in orange ink. He was waiting for the Team to make their move.

School Uniform and Stealth Goggles begin to fire their ink to get Rider to Shadow's Rainmaker pedestal.

Shadow splatted Bamboo Hat and School Uniform together as he tried to make Rider go back.

Rider shoots a few towers of ink at Shadow and tries to keep a distance to keep the Rainmaker timer going slow.

Shadow dodges and splatted Stealth Goggles and kept dodging to make Rider tired.

Rider begins to grow tired from both the training and the weight of the Rainmaker.

Shadow made Rider trip over and he tossed his Squid Beakon in the air and super jumped towards it. He now uses his Splashdown ability and went towards Rider. "Sleep now, Warrior!" He ground pound on rider and splatted him that dropped the Rainmaker at its place.

Rider went back to his spawn point.

Shadow destroyed the shield and took the Rainmaker. He carried it all the way to Team Yellow-Green's pedestal as he was nearly there.

Ride respawned and ordered his team to use the Triple Inkstrike. "Don't let him near that pedestal!"

Team Yellow-Green send three Inkstrikes towards and hope to stop Shadow at place.

Shadow went full towards it as he leaped up and placed the Rainmaker on its pedestal before the Triple Inkstrike occurred.

The match ended within 2 minutes remaining.

Judd shows an orange flag as Shadow wins with a perfect victory. Shadow wins 80,000 coins and ranks up from A- to a S+.

Rider couldn't believe he and his team lost again to Shadow.

"No matter how much you try, you will always fail." Shadow said and walked away.

Rider was already getting furious as his team tried to keep him calm. He didn't listen as he held his roller and ran towards Shadow. He leapt up in the air and swung his roller. "I had enough of you, No-Name!"

Shadow turned around and grabbed the foam part of the roller and held it in place.

Everyone who saw this, S6, and Team Yellow-Green were shocked that Shadow can stop a roller attack in midair.

Rider was shocked and couldn't believe it. "What are you?"

"A monster that you and S6 regret making." Shadow said and slammed Rider to the ground with his roller.

Rider felt a sharp pain on his back and placed his hand on his back.

"All will be shown within the King Cup Tournament, Rider. Hope that you're ready for the worst that is going to happen in the Tournament ." Shadow said and walked away, heading towards Inkopolis.

The sun was beginning to set as everyone was now heading home. The S6 were at the Emperor's mansion as they were celebrating the anniversary of the Tournament.

Shadow came to the mansion at night time as he showed his invitation to the guard and put it in his pocket.

The guard opened the door and saw a few rich families were all formal as the S6 were dressed how they always have been.

Emperor saw Shadow and smirked a little. "Ah No-Name, it's a surprise to see you here.

"I would have chosen to decline your invitation, but how could I be rude to accept something from the king himself. Shadow said and crossed his arms.

"Well thank you. Now come, we've been waiting for you." Emperor walked to the stage and in front of the microphone.

Shadow followed and leaned against a pillar as he crossed his arms.

"Attention everyone, I would like to thank you all for coming here in celebration of the upcoming tournament." He said and clapped.

Everyone clapped except for Shadow.

"My father would like to say something about the tournament." Emperor said and handed over the mic to his father.

Emperor's Father stood up and turned on the recorders and sent an announcement to everyone in inkopolis. "As you may know, my son became an undefeated champion for four years straight. Now it's time to see if anyone is capable of defeating him. I'm officially announcing the King Cup Tournament is now coming!"

Everyone in their homes are watching the announcement as they are ready and prepared to compete in the tournament.

"In this tournament, all teams must defeat others in order to move up. There will be different stages based on how high you go. The final stage will be located on the ocean where it's fifty feet high. The S6 and my son's team will face whoever makes it to the finals. So be prepared everyone, you're gonna need all the luck as you can. Thank you everyone." Emperor's Father said and bowed a little as the cameras were now off air.

Everyone clapped, still except Shadow.

Emperor's younger brother, Prince, smiled a little and looked at Shadow all concerned.

"Something wrong, little brother?" Emperor asked and looked at him.

"That person you invited isn't really enjoying the celebration." Prince said.

"I know, I just need to jog my memory a bit. He acts like someone that I remember a while back." Emperor said and tried to remember.

Squidkid Jr. was sitting next to Prince as he looked at Shadow. "Is he the one that defeated your S6 team, Emperor?"

"Yeah, he's the one. I have a feeling that he's going to be a challenge for us."

N-Pacer was sipping her black tea as she looked at him. "He does look mysterious and I heard he reached Rank S+." She said.

"I have an idea." Emperor said and thought of something.

"What is it brother?" Prince asked.

"We should take turns going with No-Name. If we're gonna figure out who he is and what he is capable of, then we're gonna need all the info we need. Looks like i have to hire a few low level teams to get everything I need."

"Seems reasonable, but don't forget what he said about trust." N-Pacer said and reminded them.

"I know, but I need to see this further and maybe figure out before the tournament."

Shadow felt bored and walked towards the door.

Emperor got up and walked towards him. "Hey, leaving so soon?"

"Here I thought there's going to be entertainment, and also I know there's familiar faces that don't want me over here." Shadow said and looked at him.

"So you want entertainment? Fine then, I'll give you entertainment." Emperor said and walked up to the stage and grabbed the mic. "Seems that my guest is looking for some entertainment right now. So how about this everyone? Does anyone want to see me defeat him right now?" He asked and pointed at Shadow.

Everyone looked at Shadow and began to whisper to each other.

"Why Emperor? I'm curious. Why seek to defeat me?" Shadow asked and crossed his arms.

"Because I would not let an inkling who keeps reminding us about the orphanage, surpass against S6 and my team."

"You're acting like a fool of yourself. Surely a king like you wouldn't do that. But now I see you're wasting my time." Shadow said and walked towards the doors.

Emperor took out his Platinum Dynamo Roller and threw it at Shadow.

Everyone gasped as Emperor's dad got up from his seat.

Shadow leans his head to the left and dodge the incoming attack. He looked at the roller and pulled it out of the door. He looked at him. "You better start training as much as you can. The worst is about to happen to you in the tournament." He threw the roller above Emperor's head.

Emperor dodged it a little and looked back at him.

Shadow left the mansion when everyone looked away.

Emperor took deep breaths and calmed down a bit.

Emperor's dad cleared his throat and sent everyone home. "Sorry everyone for what happened now, but return home."

Prince walked up to Emperor, "You alright brother?"

"Yeah just got a little bit over my head is all."

"Looks like he's not gonna be that easy to defeat." Squidkid Jr said.

"Shall we cancel the idea then?" N-Pacer asked.

"No, we need all of what we need to know about him. There has to be a weakness to him."

"We're in. As long as we get what we want, we can bring him to his knees." Rider said and looked out the window.

Shadow already made it back to his apartment. He took off his boots and jacket and kept his goggles on. "Seems that they want to know me, as if. If they're going to pair up with me, so be it. I'm not going to show all of my skills to them." He said in his head and looked in the fridge to find something to eat. He found some Strawberry Sundae and began to eat it. He went to the living room and turned on the tv.

The Squid Sisters were on live as they are now talking about what happened today.

"On further news today, No-Name defeated the five members of S6. Can this mean that the dark seahorse himself is capable of defeating our disputed champion, Emperor?" Callie asked and was amazed.

"Only time will tell Callie. We must interview him and see if he has time to talk for us. Addition to the events of today, the King Cup Tournament will now be open in three days. Be ready everyone for this event. Will there be anyone who can defeat our disputable champion or will our champion win his 5th victory? We'll all have to see." Marie said.

"That's all for today's events. This is the Squid Sisters and remember to stay fresh everyone." Callie said and the show was now over.

Shadow finished his dessert and put it in the sink. He took off his goggles and looked at the crack on the right side. "There's no way to repair the crack on these. Looks like I have to endure them as long as I can." He said and went to his bedroom and went to bed.

The next morning

Emperor's team and S6 were with the plan as they waited for Shadow.

Shadow walked out of the subway station and went to Inkopolis. He looked at Emperor, his team, and the S6.

"Well No-Name, it's about time that we teach you the meaning about trust." Emperor said and crossed his arms.

"You can't be this serious..." Shadow said.

"Each of us will take turns being with you and you will know what it's like to have teammates."

Shadow shrugged and decided to give it a try. "Fine, i'll let this slide." He said and went to the tower.

Emperor goes first as they go against Team Blue in the stage: Camp Triggerfish.

Shadow and Emperor's ink color is yellow as Team Blue stays the same color.

Emperor has his Platinum Dynamo Roller with him.

"Fight at my side if you must, Emperor… But know i do not need your help." Shadow said as the match started.

Both teams started covering their turf as Shadow and Emperor covered 45% of turf and Team Blue covered 40% of turf.

Specs and Goggles are against Shadow as Bobble Hat and Headphones are against Emperor.

Goggles and Specs use both their special abilities: Double Inkzookas, and fire at Shadow.

Shadow dodged the attacks and turned into his Kraken form and splatted them both. He continued on covering their turf with his ink.

Headphones see Shadow coming up. Before she got a chance to charge her shot. She got splatted by Emperor, using his new special ability: Inkjet.

Bobble Hat was then splatted by Shadow when he sneaked to attack her.

1 minute remaining. The walls next to the spawn point went down and allowed the teams to gain access to get to the other side.

Shadow and Emperor covered 90% of turf as Team Blue covered 5% of turf.

Specs was now shakened as he was nearly about to give up. "There's no way we can match against Emperor and No-Name together. They're both too strong for us."

Headphones took out her phone real quick and texted Skull the info.

"Come on guys, we can still try." Goggles supported his team and went into battle.

Bobble hat went too as well. "Let's go."

Emperor dodge as few attacks he splatted Bobble Hat.

Shadow splatted Goggles and had his special ability ready.

Specs ran towards Shadow and tried to splat him.

Shadow slammed Specs to the ground and threw his Squid Beakon up in the air. He uses his Splashdown ability and ground pound on Specs. His ink scattered on Team Blues' side and covered everything.

The match ended.

Judd looked at the turf and showed a yellow flag giving Shadow and Emperor the win.

Shadow and Emperor win with 99% of turf covered and Team Blue with 1% of turf covered. Shadow leveled up to 22 and earned 40,000 coins.

Team blue felt sad about losing but they already got the info for Emperor as they secretly hid it from Shadow.

SquidKid Jr was now next as he had his weapon: Clash Blaster with him.

Shadow quickly went to Sheldon's weapon store and bought the weapon: Custom Range Blaster. He went back to the tower and went with Squidkid Jr.

They are now battling against Team Dark Green, who have 4 different blaster weapons.

Their battle stage is at Bluefin Depot.

Shadow and Squidkid Jr.'s ink color stayed yellow as Team Dark Green stayed their ink color.

"I don't need your help, Squidkid Jr. Your time would be better spent talking to Emperor." Shadow said and the match started.

Squidkid Jr. and Shadow covered 50% of turf and Team Dark Green covered 45% of turf covered.

Skate and Bike Helmet battle against Shadow as Stripes and Shrimp battle against Squidkid Jr.

Shadow splatted Skate and knockback Bike Helmet into the water.

Squidkid Jr. splatted Shrimp and didn't notice Stripes behind him.

Shadow splatted Stripes before she fired her weapon.

Squidkid Jr. looked behind him and gave a thumbs up.

"Be sure to look behind you next time." Shadow said and went back to covering the turf.

Squidkid Jr. shrugged and went back to covering the turf too.

Shadow and Squidkid Jr. covered 85% of turf as Team Dark Green covered 10% of turf.

"This No-Name guy is really strong as everyone said, alongside Team Emperor's Squidkid Jr. we'll never beat them." Bike Helmet said.

"Seems like we got them where we want them, No-Name." Squidkid Jr said.

Shadow jumped up the edge next to Team Dark Green's spawn point as he covered their ink colors.

Skate and Bike have Shrimp and Stripes on their shoulders as they start firing together at Shadow.

Shadow dodged the shots and had his special ability ready.

Squidkid Jr. helped out as he fired a few shots.

Team Dark Green used their special ability: Bubble to shield themselves from all the shots.

10 seconds remaining.

Shadow tossed his Squid Beakon up in the air above Team Dark Green. He super jumped above them.

"You believe that strange special ability can destroy this Bubble Ability. This ability is indestructible!" Bike Helmet said and mocking him.

Shadow used his Splashdown ability and ground pound near Team Dark Green.

The Splashdown Ability broke through the Bubble ability and splatted the whole Team Dark Green.

The match ended.

Judd looked at the stage and showed a yellow flag giving Shadow and Squidkid Jr. the win.

Squidkid Jr. and Shadow covered 98% of turf and Team Dark Green covered 1% of turf

Shadow leveled up to 25 and obtained 50,000 coins.

Team Dark Green sent the info in text to Emperor from what happened.

Shadow exited the Bluefin Depot and entered Sheldon's store. He then bought his second favorite weapon: Aerospray PG. He went back to the tower and Emperor's brother: Prince.

Prince had his weapon and is under development: Enperry Splat Dualies.

Shadow and Prince are now battling against Team Green again. They're battling them on the stage: Kelp Dome. They stayed the ink color Yellow and Team Green stay the ink color Green

"I have no need for your assistance. Save your efforts and energy to protect yourself." Shadow said and the match started.

Shadow covered much of the turf as Prince only covered some since he was a little scared without his brother. They covered 65% of turf and Team Green covered 25% of turf.

Prince splatted Cleats and Jungle as he used the dualies ability to dodge attacks.

Shadow splatted Backwards and Beanie together as he looked at Prince

Prince only looked at him a little and looked away.

"Don't hide from me. Show me power and skill befitting as your brother, Anything else defiles the very position you are held. Don't allow fear to take control of you, you're letting your opponents know what you fear." Shadow said and walked away.

"Is that how you were when you let someone show you fear back then?" Prince said and was trying to get info.

Shadow stopped and slowly looked at Prince.

Prince was now starting to get scared and thought that he crossed the line.

"You don't know me, but i know you and your brother. You'll never understand what I've been through." Shadow said and went back to covering the turf.

Prince kept it in mind as he covered the turf as well.

Shadow and Prince covered 88% of turf and Team Green covered 10%

Backwards had no choice but to use his special ability: Bomb Rush (Splat Bomb) and sent 15 of them everywhere.

Shadow and Prince backed up and dodged the blasts of the bombs.

Team Green jumped off of their spawn point and went back to battle.

"We're not going to lose again to you No-Name." Backwards said.

"You sure about that?" Shadow asked and leaped over the wall. He went to his Kraken ability and splatted Team Green except Backwards.

Prince covered back the turf as Shadow was trying to splat Backwards. He took Shadow's advice and started showing no fear.

Backwards kept using his Sloshing Machine to keep a distance from Shadow.

Prince sees Backwards and uses his special ability: Inkjet and splatted Backwards.

The match ended

Judd looked at the stage and showed a yellow flag giving Shadow and Prince the win.

Shadow and Prince covered 97% of turf and Team Green covered 2% of turf. Shadow level up to 28 and obtain 60,000 coins.

Team Green got the info for Emperor as they sent it in text to him.

Shadow went to Sheldon's shop and bought the weapon: E-liter 3K Scope. He went back to the tower and waited for the next person to join him.

N-Pacer goes last as she has her weapon, a different type: Splatterscope. She was next to Shadow as she looked at him a little. "He doesn't look that strong from what the others told me." She said in her head.

"Is there something that you want, N-Pacer?" Shadow asked.

"How do you know my name?" She asked.

"Everyone knows that there's one so-called *Cool Female Knight* around Inkopolis."

Shadow and N-Pacer are now battling Green once again.

However Team Green's teammate: Jungle Hat, couldn't make it as a new inkling came to challenge Shadow. His name is Gloves. He came from a different part of Inkopolis as he had his weapon: Splat Dualies.

"Who's this fool that came?" Shadow asked.

"He's Gloves, leader of Team Gloves. I've heard that he came to challenge you." N-Pacer said and explained.

"So you must be No-Name, the dark seahorse himself? I've heard that you defeated the five members of S6 and are ready to battle against the undisputed champion: Emperor. Well I came here to battle you and bring you down to the ground." Gloves said and feels confident.

"You really feel confident about this?" Shadow asked and is doubting him.

"I believe that I can defeat you before Emperor. I will win against you."

"Fine. Bear witness to what I'm capable of." Shadow said and is ready to battle against Gloves.

Shadow and N-Pacer stayed the ink color Yellow and Team Green stay the same ink color.

"You know that I can handle myself, No-Name. I'm the best quick shot inkling ever." N-Pacer said.

"I respect your desire to fight on your own. But know this, Without power or skills, all your efforts are meaningless." Shadow said and the match started.

Shadow and N-Pacer covered 50% of turf as Gloves and Team Green covered 45% of turf.

Team Green, except for Gloves, were splatted by the long-range scope weapons as they didn't expect them.

Shadow and N-Pacer were staying on top of the tower as they covered 85% of turf.

Gloves dodged every shot and climbed up the tower to shoot both of them.

Shadow dodged the attack and looked up.

N-Pacer tried to do a quick shot, but she tripped over the edge and fell.

Shadow dropped his weapon and caught her bride style.

She looks at him as she blushes and charges her weapon.

Gloves was now about to jump off and ready his weapons to attack them together.

Shadow took her weapon and fired the shot. He splatted Gloves in the air and looked at her.

N-Pacer was still blushing as she stood up and grabbed her weapon from Shadow. "T-thanks…"

"We got a turf war to finish." Shadow said and picked up his weapon. He climbed to the tower and covered everything back to 80%. He was trying his best to not blush, but could only hold in a little.

She was still blushing as she took a deep breath and focused on the turf war. She climbed up the tower and noticed him blushing. She stood next to him and helped him cover the turf.

Shadow and N-Pacer covered 90% of turf as Team Green covered 5% of turf covered.

Team Green were hiding from Shadow and N-Pacer as they were trying to hide from them.

Shadow uses his special ability: Echolocator to track down Team Green as N-Pacer uses her special ability: Sting Ray. She fired a beam and splatted Team Green except Gloves.

Gloves dodged the beam and used his special ability: Tenta Missiles, firing missiles and going towards them.

Shadow saw the missiles and grabbed N-Pacer's waist.

N-Pacer blushed and looked at him.

When the missiles locked on them and went down towards them, Shadow and N-Pacer began evading the attack by dancing around on the tower.

Smoke formed on the tower as Gloves was waiting for it to clear.

Gloves began to laugh as he left opened. "I did it, I hit them. I told you No-Name, I will win."

Shadow fired his charged weapon at Gloves and fired on top of his head.

Gloves dodged it and felt a small breeze on his head. "You missed!"

The smoke cleared up and showed Shadow and N-Pacer were ok and no ink on them. "I didn't miss." Shadow said and still held N-Pacer's waist.

Gloves' front-middle tentacle hair fell off as Gloves was shocked by it. He wasn't moving and was still shocked.

Both Shadow and N-Pacer's special abilities are now ready as Shadow tosses his Squid Beakon in the air and looks at N-Pacer, "Ready?"

"Ready!" She exclaimed and super jumped with Shadow.

Shadow shared his Splashdown ability with N-Pacer and they both did their special ability: Super Splashdown on Gloves and splatted him.

This ability also covers a lot of turf as they covered everything.

Shadow and N-Pacer stood up straight and he crossed his arms, "Accept how powerless you are Gloves!"

The match ended

Judd looked at the stage and showed a yellow flag, giving Shadow and N-Pacer the win.

Shadow and N-Pacer covered a complete 100% of turf and Gloves and Team Green with 0% of turf covered. Shadow level up to 30 and obtained 70,000 coins.

N-Pacer came up to Gloves when Shadow wasn't looking and stopped him. "Hey, do you want to be a member of the S6? Emperor wants you to be the new member and will be henceforth to S7."

Gloves was thinking about it as he nodded and smiled. "Sure."

Shadow walked away as he felt something tugging on his jacket. He turned around and saw N-Pacer. "Is there something that you want?"

She walked up towards him and gave a kiss on his cheek. She was blushing and looked away a little. "Um… I had fun today, maybe… we could hangout sometime?" She asked and handed her phone number to him.

He took the number and looked at her. He also blushed and cleared his throat. "Sure… Why not."

She smiled a little and walked away.

Shadow felt his heartbeat and put the phone number in his jacket pocket. He walked away and went to the restaurant to eat.

N-Pacer went back to Emperor and shared the info with him.

"So he blushes when you're near him, it seems like you have to get close to him in order to remove his goggles." Emperor said and was thinking of something.

"What are you suggesting?" She asked.

"Invite him for a sleepover tonight and see if you can try to get him to show his eyes to you."

"You think he'll come over to the mansion?" Squidkid Jr. asked.

"N-Pacer gave her number to him, She did say she wanted to hangout with him. So this got to be our chance." Emperor said.

"Seems like she got a crush on someone." Squidkid Jr. teased

N-Pacer blushed red and walked away. She stopped and walked back to remind Emperor about Gloves. "Also, Gloves decided to join the S6."

Sun was now about to set as everyone was now heading home. Emperor invited S6 and Gloves as N-Pacer sent a text message to Shadow.

Shadow replied back as he only packed his gear and few clothes. He grabbed his stuff and went to the mansion.

N-Pacer was waiting outside as she saw him and opened the gate for him. "I would have that you wouldn't come hangout."

Shadow passed the gate and walked with her. "I couldn't say no to you. So who else is here for the sleepover?"

"The S6 and Gloves. i hope it's not a problem for you."

"Well a little, they never really enjoy my company over there.

"If you don't feel comfortable around them, then you can sleep in my room. I don't mind." N-Pacer said and blushed a little.

Shadow looked at her and blushed under his goggles."That'll be good for me."

Both of them went inside the mansion as the S6, Gloves, Emperor, and his team were waiting for them.

"Welcome No-Name, we've been expecting you. Come, we are having dessert." Emperor said and was eating his ice cream.

Shadow and N-Pacer sat down on the table and looked at the others.

"What would you like for dessert?" She asked.

"Strawberry Sundae." Shadow said.

The butler bowed a little and went to the kitchen to make the sundae.

Skull finished his dessert before anyone.

Mask had a pistachio almond and was still eating but was halfway done.

Aloha had a banana split as he also ate it halfway.

Army had a neapolitan dessert as he ate three quarters.

Gloves had a rocky road ice cream and was nearly done eating it.

Shadow's Strawberry Sundae was now finished as he began eating it. He makes sure that his goggles won't slip off as he eats his dessert.

"So No-Name, tells us more about you? Surely that you clearly know us, but we still don't know you." Rider asked and looked at him.

"You all already know who i am." Shadow said.

"At least tell us something that we don't already know?" Army asked.

"A friendless inkling. Does that jog any memories?"

"Come now No-Name, there has to be something that you are afraid of." Emperor said and finished his dessert.

Shadow finished his dessert and wiped his mouth with the nearby napkin. He felt threatened as he looked at N-Pacer and grabbed his bag. "Shall we, Pacer?"

Pacer got up from the chair and led the way. "Certainly."

Emperor was thinking as he took the small hints and tried to put it in pieces.

"What do you think, Emperor? You think i could be… him?" Skull asked and looked at him.

"Could be… But he needs to show his face in order for me to believe it." Emperor said.

Shadow and N-Pacer made it to her room as it was fully cleaned.

She looked at him, "Go ahead and sleep anywhere you like."

Shadow placed his pillow next to her bed as he decided to sleep on the floor. "I'm sleeping here."

Pacer sat on the bed as she made room for him to sit on. "No-Name, can we talk for a second?"

He sat next to her and looked at her. "What is it?"

"Look… I know that it's not mine, Squidkid Jr. Gloves, and Prince's business about you and the S6. But i think you can tell me personally. Why are you hiding your eyes from everyone?" She asked and didn't know if she went too far.

He was thinking about it as he sighed a little and looked at her. "Because I'm different. My eyes make others think that I don't belong."

"Can I see your eyes?" She asked and wanted to know.

"Why? So you can tell everyone what color eyes I have and everyone will soon think of me as a nobody." Shadow asked and doesn't feel comfortable.

"N-no it's not like that. I can keep your eyes a secret, I promise." She said and is willing to keep a secret.

He was hesitant to trust her with his eyes, but he feels a little too close to her. He took a deep breath and calmed himself. "Are you… willing to keep it a secret after the tournament?"

She nodded and smiled a little. "Yes I will."

Shadow sighed a little as he stood up on the bed and began taking off his goggles. He closed his eyes as he took them off. He slowly opened his eyes and show his red pupils to her

N-Pacer was surprised by what his eye color is and couldn't believe it. "Were you born like this?"

"I was born with these eye colors. My life was treated differently when I was at the orphanage. I don't want to reveal my name yet. But this is all you need to know for now." Shadow said and put his goggles back on.

Pacer understands what is happening now as she looks at him. "So you're gonna defeat Emperor and what then?"

"Then I move on from my past. I just want everyone to respect me as one of them. To make me feel as one of them, to feel belonging." Shadow said and explained his lost feelings to her.

"I see…" She yawned a little and ribbed her eyes a little. "Well it's getting late, time to sleep then."

Shadow got off the bed and lay down on the ground and lay his head on the pillow. "Sleep well N-Pacer." He said and didn't look at her.

Pacer was thinking about the secret as she wasn't about keeping it. She lay in bed and clapped her hands to turn off the lights. "Goodnight No-Name."

Later that night, Everyone was turned in for the night as everyone was now asleep.

N-Pacer was tossing and turning in her sleep, dreaming about the secret that she is meant to keep.

Shadow woke up as he heard her tossing and turning. He stood up and walked up towards her. He pulled the blankets away a little as he slid in the bed with her. He pulled her in close to him as he patted her head.

She felt him next to her as she felt the pat and woke up. "No-Name, what are you…

"Shh… What's troubling you for not getting a good night sleep?"

"Aside from being in my bed in the middle of the night, I can't sleep because of the secret you want me to keep."

"Listen, promises and secrets just can't be kept, even the ones that others tell you to keep. But if you don't want to keep that promise, then say so. It's ok to say no." Shadow said

Pacer wasn't sure to say no to him. She was thinking about it and is willing to keep it. "I'll keep it a secret."

"Ok then. Now let's get some sleep."

"But i can't."

Shadow pulled her close to him and rubbed her shoulder. "Think of something good. Think of something that will help you get through the night."

She begins to think of something that makes her happy as she begins to fall asleep. "No-Name, did you parents teach you that when you were young?" She asked and went to sleep.

Shadow didn't answer for 5 minutes as he lay next to her. He closed his eyes and fell asleep. "I don't have parents…"

The next morning.

Shadow woke up early and left the mansion without anyone noticing as he went back home. He got an early message from the Squid Sisters as he went home quickly, ate breakfast, put on his gear, and went to see the Squid Sisters.

"Welcome No-Name, It's wonderful that you came to join us." Callie said and smiled.

"Thank you." Shadow said.

"We just want to ask you a few questions and what is your reason against the S6. Think you are comfortable about this?" Marie asked and was wondering.

Shadow nodded and sat down on the chair.

"Ok so first question. Why are you keeping your eyes a secret?" Callie asked and had her notepad.

"Because I don't want some people to know and I want to show them during the battle against Emperor."

Callie wrote it down and looked at him. "Ok second question. "What's with this gear that you're wearing? You've been wearing that since you started turf war."

"I was given this when I was at the orphanage. They ran out of the basic gear and this was all there was and I started wearing this."

Callie wrote it down and nodded. "Third and final question. Why aren't you in any team?"

"I tend to fight alone. I don't have trust in others. I believe that others will turn against me if I try to help. That's why." Shadow said and explained.

Callie and nodded and wrote it down. Her and Marie began to feel bad for him as they looked at him.

"Anyway, What is your obsession against the S6?"

Shadow sits there quiet and he begins to tell them about his past.

Pacer woke up as she yawned a bit. She stood up and looked on her bed. She found a note next to her and it's from Shadow. She reads it and says: *To answer your question last night, when you asked me if my parents taught me that… I don't have parents.* She felt bad asking him last night as she quickly got dressed and went to inkopolis to see Shadow.

Shadow was now done talking to the Squid Sisters as he left the studio. He was now in the middle of Inkopolis.

N-Pacer found Shadow and walked up to him. "Hey there."

"Hello." Shadow said

"I got your note when i woke up. I'm sorry for mentioning your parents. I didn't know you were…" She stopped as Shadow placed his finger on her mouth.

"It's fine…" He said and slid his finger off of her.

"I must thank you for helping me sleep." She comes closer to him as she is ready to give him a kiss.

Shadow's heart begins to tell him no as it tells him that there's someone else for him. He stopped her and pushed her a little. "My mind says yes, but my heart says no. I believe that there's other people that are perfect for us."

She felt a little heartbroken and she understands. "Oh… I see."

"We can just be friends."

"I thought you don't want friends."

"...I'm making this as an exception. I may not trust others, but I don't want to see anyone be sad and crying."

Pacer came up to him and hugged him.

Shadow hugged back and patted her back. "So do you still consider keeping the promise?"

"I guess not. It would be better if i don't mention it."

"Alright then. You better head back before anyone notices that you're gone." Shadow suggested.

Pacer nodded and stopped hugging him. She walked away and headed back to the mansion.

Shadow felt bad on what he did, but the deed is done. "I'm sorry…" He whispered and walked to the tower to train for the tournament.

Pacer made it back as she went to her room and sat on the bed. She looked at the note in her hands as she walked up to her mirror and hung it on the edge. "I'm sorry…"

The match started as both teams started covering the stage.

Shadow covered 45% of turf and Team Zoza covered 45% of turf.

Shadow was standing on top of the middle stage and looked at all four members of Team Zoza.

"You must be the one that defeated Rider and the S4. Looks like this will be entertaining." Donut said.

"He may be alone, but we can outsmart him." Crazy said.

Shadow sighed a little and crossed his arms. "Even when you band together, the weak are nothing before true power."

"Don't act so cocky that you are stronger against the S6. We can win against you." Donut said and climbed up the stage. He uses his Gold Dynamo Roller to attack Shadow.

Shadow collided his weapon together with Donut's roller and kept a hold on the roller.

Sane and Crazy climbed up and start firing at Shadow

Shadow dodges the attack as he breaks the hold of his roller and splatted Sane and Crazy. He also dodged Pudding's shot and looked at her. He grabbed Donut and threw him at her.

Pudding dodges and looks back at Donut. "You ok?"

Donut looked back at her and saw Shadow behind her. He only pointed and warned her.

Pudding looked back and got splatted before she was about to use a Burst Bomb on him.

Shadow quickly splatted Donut and covered their turf with his ink color.

Shadow had covered 80% of turf and Team Zoza covered 10% of turf.

Donut and Crazy use their special ability: Double Inkstrikes and launch them in different areas.

Pudding uses her special ability: Echolocation and located where Shadow is.

Sane used his special ability: Killer Wail and fired the ray at Shadow.

Shadow dodged it and tried to cover the turf where the Inkstrikes hit.

Team Zoza went back to action as Sane and Crazy tried to cover the turf and Pudding and Donut tried to distract Shadow.

Shadow looked at both the duos and went to challenge Donut and Pudding.

Crazy and Sane already got half of the stage covered.

Shadow disarmed Donut and Pudding from their weapons and tossed on the middle stage platform which caused them to be paralyzed.

Crazy and Sane saw this as they charged at him.

Shadow saw them and quickly disarmed their weapon from them and tossed them with Pudding and Donut.

Team Zoza's bodies were paralyzed from the tossing as they could barely move.

10 seconds left.

Shadow tossed his Squid Beakon in the air, above Team Zoza, and super jumped towards it. "This'll finish things!" He now uses the special ability: Splashdown and ground pound on Team Zoza. The explosion spread ink everywhere and covered Team Zoza's ink.

Team Zoza were splatted and went back to their spawn point.

Shadow stood up and crossed his arms. "Trust is for the weak!"

The match ended.

Judd looked at the stage and showed a pink flag, giving Shadow the win with 90% of turf covered and Team Zoza with 10% of turf covered.

Shadow leveled up to 35 and received 60,000 coins. He saw Pudding and Donut hugging before kissing as he looked away and walked away.

Sun was about to set as everyone began to go home.

Shadow walked out of the tower and saw Judd laying on top of three gears that are giving to everyone who reached level 35. He then saw a note next to Judd that has his name on it. It reads, *To the one who is called No-Name, I'm giving you these for reaching level 35. I hope you like them.*

This gear was the complete set of the upgraded version of the Hero Gear.

Shadow kept it with him and petted Judd who was sleeping. "Thank you Judd."

Judd purred and turned around in his sleep.

Shadow walked back to his house and placed the gear in his closet. He looked at the calendar and tomorrow was the King Cup Tournament. He took a deep breath and calmed himself. "This is it, time to put the past behind me tomorrow. Get ready Emperor, I will prevail against you." He said before heading to bed to prepare for tomorrow.

Emperor was cleaning his jacket and shoes as he was now prepared for the King Cup Tournament. "The King will always prevail No-Name. I will win and will remove those goggles of yours."

The next day.

Shadow woke up early as he skipped breakfast and headed to Inkopolis

There were different teams from the other side of Inkopolis that attended as Team Blue, the S7 and Shadow were there.

Emperor walked up to the stage and on the screen above him, were the brackets of the teams and Shadow's names on it. "Welcome to the 5th King Cup Tournament!"

Everyone, except Shadow, cheered loud.

"From so many battles that I've seen, there are a lot of you who are willingly to challenge me. Most of you might have been struggling against the S6, some of you nearly suppress against the S6, but there is one person who did suppress the S6 and of course everyone of you already knows who i'm talking about.

Everyone gossips as they are talking to each other.

"Well we shall see who will reach to me, my team, and the S7. The prize of this tournament is the highest rank to achieve, Rank X. Those who defeated me, will have the full respect with this rank. Right now let's begin." Emperor said and walked away from the microphone.

The Squid Sisters walked up the stage and were giving the teams to battle against.

"It would appear that No-Name will be going up against Team Yellow-Green. Let's see who will win." Callie said.

"They will be battling in the new stage that is now done building called The Reef.

Shadow and Team Yellow-Green went to the stage and were ready to battle each other.

"Me and my team are now ready to battle you once again, No-Name. We've been training really hard for this one and I'll make sure you won't face Emperor." Rider said.

"It doesn't matter if you trained hard enough, you need to master your own skills to peak against me." Shadow said.

"We'll see about that." Rider said and super jumped to his spawn point with his team. They remain the color Yellow-Green.

Shadow super jumped to his spawn point and his ink color changed to blue.

The crowd were cheering for Team Yellow-Green as some cheered for Shadow.

The match started as both teams started covering their turf.

Shadow covered 45% of turf and Team Yellow-Green covered 40% of turf. He splatted Stealth Goggles and School Uniform together as he looked at Bamboo Hat and Rider.

Rider ran towards Shadow and swung his roller at him.

Shadow collides his roller with Rider.

Bamboo Hat super jumped back to their spawn point and used the special ability: Sting Ray. She aims the ray near Shadow and fires the beam.

Rider plans to push Shadow into the beam as he starts using his roller to push him. "Since you can't be harmed physically, it looks like you'll be harmed from the Sting Ray ability."

Shadow used his strength to push back Rider and had no choice but to use the Kraken Ability to change and splatted Rider. He covered back his turf and went back to his normal self.

Shadow covered 75% of turf and Team Yellow Green covered 20% of turf.

Emperor was watching everything as he was sitting on his throne. "Looks like No-Name is really a challenge for all of us. Seems that I have to prepare myself with all the info I obtain from the others."

Rider and Team Yellow-Green went back to battle as they tried to land a hit on Shadow all together.

Shadow dodges every single attack and slatted Team Yellow Green, leaving Rider all alone.

Rider uses his new special ability: Ink Armor, and shield himself from every attack. He went back to attack Shadow

Shadow has finally filled his special ability up and slash at Rider a couple of times.

Rider's Ink Armor was finally broken and Rider was vulnerable. "What?! This ability is supposed to protect me all the time.

Shadow slammed Rider on the ground and tossed his Squid Beakon in the air on top of Rider. He super jumped to the sub weapon and was now about to use his Splashdown Ability. "Sleep now, Warrior!" He uses his Splashdown ability and splatted Rider with a ground pound.

Rider went back to his spawn point and lost the battle.

Shadow stood up and crossed his arms. "The fight is over. Admit it! Why can't you not accept your defeat?!" He said

The match ended.

Judd looked at the stage and showed a blue flag, giving Shadow the win with 95% of turf covered and Team Yellow-Green with 5% of turf covered.

Shadow obtained triple the reward as he won 75,000 coins and leveled up to 39.

Rider admitted the loss of the battle and kneeled down. "Sorry Emperor, I tried."

Team Yellow-Green patted Rider's back and comforted him. "We tried at least. Let's see if Team S4 will have a chance to win." Stealth Goggles said.

Shadow left the stage as the bracket show Shadow defeated Team Yellow-Green and now up against Team S4

Army, Aloha, Mask, and Skull team up together to form Team S4. They were now ready to battle against Shadow.

"S4? Teaming together? Nonsense!" Shadow said and crossed his arms.

"You better believe it, No-Name. With us leaders together, we have a better chance of defeating you easily." Army said.

"We also got new special abilities, thanks to Sheldon. Now we can have a better advantage point against you." Aloha said.

"We'll make sure that your goggles are removed after this." Mask said.

"This time, I'm aiming at you and not your goggles. I was lucky enough to hit them off, but you still didn't show your eyes." Skull said and has a new scope weapon called: The E-liter 4K Scope.

"Try if you must, but all of you are still no match for me. With four of you together, means that you're not close to my skill and power level." Shadow said.

"We'll see about that No-Name." Army said and walked to the next stage with the S4.

Shadow followed them.

"This next battle will be Team S4 against No-Name. The stage that they will battle in is Humpback Pump Track." Callie said.

"Will the dark seahorse himself be able to defeat the leaders of Teams Orange, Pink, Cyan, and Purple?" We shall see in this one great battle." Marie said.

Shadow's ink color changes to Yellow as Team S4's ink color changes to Pink.

The match started.

Shadow covered 45% of turf and Team S4 covered 50% of turf. He dodges every attack from S4 and splatted Army and Mask.

Aloha uses his new special ability: Baller, he was inside a ball and roller in it as he left a trail of ink behind him. He went after Shadow. "Let's see if you can splat me in this."

Shadow slash at the Baller ability and kicked it away from him.

Aloha was knocked back as the Baller ability exploded in place and didn't cover any turf.

Skull uses his new special ability: Ink Storm, sending a missile-like machine on the ground and it launches up in the air. It exploded and made a cloud that rain down pink ink. "You can't hide from this one, No-Name."

Shadow backed away from it and went to Aloha to splat him.

Skull aimed at Shadow and missed as Shadow dodged it.

Aloha was splatted and was sent back to the spawn point.

Mask came back and looked at Shadow. "This new special ability i have is similar to my Seekers, but this time they can walk now." He uses his new special ability: Bomb Rush (Autobombs), sending tons of new bombs that are like the Seeker Bombs, but they can now walk.

Shadow dodges the Autobombs as they went after him.

"Looks like team S4 has the upper hand on No-Name." Callie said in the intercom

"With 75% of turf covered by Team S4, No-Name will have to come up with something to get back on the top." Marie said.

Shadow was taking deep breaths as he was trying to think of something.

"Look at you, No-Name. You aren't looking like yourself when you are facing us." Army said and taunted him.

"Shut it!" Shadow said and got a little frustrated.

"Looks like we can defeat easily since you're now growing weak."

Shadow was now triggered as he was now aggressive. The anger that he held was released a little. He went at Army full speed and splatted him when he was least expecting. He took Army's weapon and looked at the others.

Aloha uses his Baller ability again and goes after Shadow. "Let's do this again."

Shadow slash with his roller and use a Suction Bomb from Army's weapon to destroy Aloha's ability. He splatted Aloha and stole his weapon. He throws Army's weapon back.

Mask went towards Shadow and used his Bomb Rush ability on him. "Try to run away from this."

Shadow uses the Baller ability to shield himself from the bomb and splat Mask after the Baller was destroyed from the bombs. He threw Aloha's weapon back and took Mask's roller. He went after Skull while he was in high ground.

Skull uses another Ink Storm and launches it above him. He charges his weapon and aims at Shadow.

Shadow uses the Bomb Rush ability and keeps running as he throws at Skull. He also uses his roller to cover the turf while they are distracted.

Shadow now has the upperhand as he covered 75% of turf and Team S4 covered 20% of turf.

Skull super jumped back to spawn point and let the bombs explode in place.

Shadow throws back Mask's roller and goes to the middle stage. He placed his roller next to him and is now waiting for S4. "You four have a special technique, do you not? Try it on me now while you still have time!" He demanded and is ready to finish this.

S4 grouped together and went towards Shadow without thinking.

Army uses the Ink Armor ability to protect him and the S4 together. "This is our power of trust, No-Name. We will win against you!"

Shadow dodges every attack and is trying to get his Splashdown ability ready.

10 seconds remaining.

Shadow lowered down and low kicked the S4, making them drop to the floor and their weapons were disarmed from them. He also destroyed the Ink Armor when the S4 dropped on the floor. He quickly sent his Squid Beakon up in the air and super jumped towards it. "I had enough of this, warriors!" He uses his Splashdown ability and splatted the S4 together. The lethal radius of the Splashdown is bigger than the original, thanks to his anger he put into the attack.

Team S4 went back to the spawn point as they lost the battle.

The teams of Orange, Pink, Cyan, and Purple were watching and they were shocked to see their leaders being defeated. Even Team Blue and Team Yellow-Green were surprised to see the four best leaders being defeated by Shadow.

Shadow stood up and crossed his arms. "So, this is your so-called power of trust… I'm not impressed in the slightest." Shadow said and calmed down.

The match ended.

Judd looked at the stage and showed a yellow flag giving Shadow the win with 89% of turf covered and Team S4 with 10% of turf covered.

Shadow leveled up to the 42 and obtained 80,000 coins.

S4 admitted defeat and couldn't defeat him.

Emperor sat and looked through the whole battle and had to think of something. He and his team were now against Team Blue and thought of something till later.

Shadow left the stage and looked at the brackets, seeing him moving up and now up against Team Gloves.

"No-Name successfully defeats Team S4 and prevails. Now he'll go up against Team Gloves in this semi finals." Callie said.

"They will be battling in the stage called: Musselforge Fitness.

Shadow and Team Gloves made it to the stage as they looked at each other.

"Came back for round 2?" Shadow asked.

"This time, you don't have N-Pacer to help you. Now that I have my team with me, I'll show you who's the coolest." Gloves said.

"It doesn't matter how cool or fresh you are, what matters is your skills and power."

"For you, but we still follow our way. So get ready, No-Name. I will defeat you and I will win against Emperor."

"We'll see." Shadow said and super jumped to his spawn point. His ink color changed to Blue.

The match started

Both teams battled as Shadow covered 45% of turf and Team Gloves 48% of turf covered.

Gloves plan to distract Shadow as he goes towards him.

Shadow went towards Gloves and tried to splat him.

Gloves uses his dualies ability and dodges every attack.

Team Gloves were on Shadow's turf as they covered it.

Shadow smirked as he knew that they were covering his turf as the traps were now ready.

The Ink Mines that were hidden went off and exploded as Team Gloves were splatted.

"How?!" Gloves asked and kept dodging.

"You think i'm that dumb to know that your team will cover my turf while i wasn't looking. I set tons of Ink Mines everywhere. So don't think that you will get past me." Shadow said and counter struck him and splatted Gloves.

1 minute remaining

"Looks like No-Name covered 75% of turf, leaving 15% of turf covered by Team Gloves." Callie said.

"There's only one minute remaining, let's see if Team Gloves might jump back." Marie said.

Team Gloves respawned in and went back into battle.

Shadow placed more hidden Ink Mines as he waited for Team Gloves.

Gloves went towards Shadow and fired at him.

Shadow dodges and tries to make Gloves go into the Ink Mines.

Gloves was trying not to hit the mines and land a blow on Shadow.

Team Gloves were covering some parts of Shadow's turf, but it was covered up again by the mines.

"Seems like the S6 are right. You are a trouble to them." Gloves said and dodges away. He uses his Tenta Missiles ability, locked on Shadow, and fires the missiles in the air.

Shadow backed up to his turf and looked up at the missiles.

The missiles went down towards Shadow and marked where they're hitting.

Shadow dodges every missile and the Ink Mines explode.

Both Ink Mines and Tenta Missiles made smoke everywhere.

Team Gloves came together and tried to look through the smoke.

Shadow ran quickly and splatted Team Gloves, except Gloves. He uses his roller and slash above Gloves.

Gloves felt a cold breeze above him and looked at Shadow. "You still missed me."

"Like i said, i never miss." Shadow said and looked at him.

Gloves' tentacles hair came off as he got a clean cut from Shadow. He looked down and was now fully shocked. He couldn't move and was only focusing on his hair. "AGAIN!?"

Shadow threw his Squid Beakon air in the air above Gloves and super jumped to it. He looked down and is now ready to use his special ability. "You lose, warrior!" He uses his Splashdown ability and ground pound on Gloves.

Gloves were splatted from the special ability.

Shadow stood up and crossed his arms. "Tell me you're joking. You actually thought that would be enough to defeat me?" He asked.

The match ended.

Judd looked at the stage and showed a blue flag, giving Shadow the win.

Shadow leveled up to 45 and obtained 90,000 coins.

"And No-Name is the winner. He will now be moving into the finals." Callie said.

"And it also appears that Team Emperor defeated Team Blue and they are moving into the finals against No-Name." Marie said.

Shadow quickly went to Spyke and offered three Super Sea Snails to him to reroll his perks on his gear.

Spyke rerolled Shadow's gear and gave him a perfect Ink Saver (Main) perk.

Shadow went back to the tower and went to battle against Team Emperor.

"This is it, everyone. The battle is about to commence. Who will win this final battle and merge victorious? Will it be the dark seahorse himself, No-Name; or will it be our undisputed champion, Emperor?" Callie asked in the intercom.

Shadow made it and went towards Team Emperor in the stage called: Starfish Mainstage. When he came close to them, Emperor wasn't there with his team.

"Hold on, it looks like Emperor isn't with his team. There is a video message for No-Name that Emperor wants to say to him." Marie said and put on the video.

"Before you get the chance to defeat me, No-Name. I will see if you are worth the trouble. I will not only make this a final fight, but a test. If you merge victorious against my team, then you will fight against me and the rest of S7. But if you lose, then i'll win my fifth tournament. My brother will be taking over for me as I'll be waiting over here on this new stage that my father mentioned. The S7 will be getting their revenge as well. Don't keep me waiting." Emperor said on the video and it ended.

Shadow was watching the video the whole time and looked at Team Emperor. "So, you're that one's brother?"

Prince walked up to him and looked at him. "Indeed I am. I'll prove to my brother that I can be a better king. That I will defeat you for him."

"Don't count on it, Prince. I will still win against you."

"I got a new member with me so that I will win for my brother."

"We'll see." Shadow said and super jumped to his spawn point. His ink color was now Blue

Team Emperor super jumped to their spawn point and stayed the color Yellow

Shadow analyzed the new Team Emperor.

Team Emperor

A group of sun yellow ink colored Inklings. All members wear the same gear except shoes, with Emperor and Prince also wearing the shoes from this set. The gear is the following: the Gear Headgear Eminence Cuff, a Gear Clothing Milky Eminence Jacket, and Gear Shoes Milky Enperrials.. The parents of the members have known each other long ago and their team practice begins with all members naturally gathering around Emperor, without him having to say a word.

He is described as the "son of a star player". His name comes from a type of fishing lure for squids, which originally inspired his unused custom hairstyle.

N-Pacer, Level 50, Rank S+, a female Inkling with the "Double-Bun" hairstyle. She wears the Gear Shoes N-Pacer Ag. Her main weapon is the Weapon Main Splatterscope. She is described as the "cool female knight".

Laceless, Level 50, Rank S+, a male Inkling with the "Top Knot" hairstyle who temporarily replaces Emperor for a period of time. He wears the Gear Shoes White Laceless Dakroniks. His main weapon is the Splash-o-matic.

According to his topics: The son of a gardener at Emperor's household. An acquaintance of Emperor and his brother, and of course, Jr. and N-Pacer. He was called out by Prince when Prince himself saw him practicing, thus forming Team New Emperor/New-Per.

The match started as both teams covered their turf.

Shadow covered 40 of turf and Team New Emperor covered 40% of turf as well.

Squidkid Jr. went first towards Shadow as he was quicker than Aloha and Gloves. He tried to sneak attack him from the back, but Shadow was expecting him to appear behind him.

Shadow turns around quickly and splatted Squidkid with his roller.

Laceless uses his special ability: Bomb Rush (Suction Bombs). Sending tons of Suction Bombs at Shadow.

Shadow dodged them and went towards Laceless and splatted him second.

Prince dodges behind him and shoots a few times.

Shadow backflip and splatted Prince with a helm splitter. He looked back and saw N-Pacer aiming at him.

Pacer was taking deep breaths and was a little hesitant to shoot him.

"Do you really want to do this, Pacer?" He asked and was calm about it.

She still had her finger on the trigger as her weapon was fully charged. "I'm sorry No-Name, but I must. It's for Emperor."

"I understand… And i am sorry too…"

"For what?"

Shadow threw his Squid Beakon in the air as a distraction and went at her full speed and pin her down with his roller. He disarmed her weapon and looked down at her. "For this." He kneel down and kisses her on the cheek before splatting her.

"Looks like No-Name has made 75% of turf covered as Team New Emperor made 25% of turf covered." Callie said.

"There's only one minute remaining. Can No-Name manage to stay at the same percentage before time's up? Let's find out." Marie said.

Shadow moved up as he already figured out Team New Emperor's tactic.

Team New Emperor went back to battle as N-Pacer blushed and rubbed her cheek.

Shadow covered their turf and tried to keep them away.

Laceless and Squidkid Jr. went towards Shadow and were trying to keep him distracted for N-Pacer and Prince.

Shadow found an opening as he dodged every shot and splat Laceless and Squidkid Jr.

Prince uses his Inkjet ability and shoots a few projectiles at Shadow.

Shadow hears the Inkjet and dodges. He even dodges N-Pacer's shots as he hears the charged weapon ready.

30 seconds remaining.

Shadow threw his Squid Beakon in the air towards N-Pacer and hid in his ink as he swam towards her. He leaped in the air and splatted her before she got the chance to take the shot.

Prince went after Shadow and tried to splat Shadow. "I will not lose here!"

"You showed your enemy your fear again." Shadow said and moved away.

"I Don't Care!" Prince yelled before being slammed to the ground and his dualies were disarmed from him.

Shadow made sure that Prince stayed where he was and threw his Squid Beakon in the air and super jumped towards it. "Too little, too late, young warrior!" He uses the Splashdown ability and ground pound Prince.

Prince respawned back to his spawn point

Shadow stood up and crossed his arms. "If this is your best, then you are no new emperor to me." He said.

The match ended.

Judd looked at the stage and showed a blue flag, giving Shadow the win with 85% of turf covered and Team New Emperor losing with 15% of turf covered.

Shadow leveled up to 48 and earned 100,000 coins.

"Unbelievable! No-Name defeated Team Emperor and emerged victorious. Now he will face Emperor in the true final stage." Callie said and was excited about the fight.

"The final stage is located on the ocean. Luckly it's clear weather and fine night outside. So be sure you're ready No-Name." Marie said and the Squid Sisters were now off air. She and Callie moved to the recommended stage as they will be watching the battle far away from the stage.

Shadow went back to Inkopolis and went to Judd.

Judd was laying on top of a strange weapon that doesn't look like a normal Inkling weapon. He was also laying on top of a special gear that Skull was wearing.

Shadow picked up Judd gently and took both the weapon and gear. He placed him back and rubbed his head.

Judd purred and meowed at him.

Shadow quickly went back to his place and put away the gifts in his closet.

Prince lowered his head and felt defeated. "I'm sorry, brother. I tried to defeat him, but he got in my head."

Emperor patted his head and rubbed. "You did great out there without me. At least you tried." He said.

"Is dad gonna be upset with me?"

"You did great out there, son." Emperor's dad said and was behind them.

"You're still a star, my boy." Squidkid jr's dad said.

"You truly are a great female knight, my sweet little girl." N-Pacer's mom said.

Team Emperor hugged their parents for forgiveness as they were hugged back.

"We should head to the benches near the stage, let your brother battle in this one." Emperor's dad said and the parents followed him.

Team Emperor followed the parents and left Emperor with the S7.

Shadow was riding on a helicopter as it was transporting him outside of inkopolis to the ocean. He landed on the stage and got off the copter.

Everyone was now sitting on the benches as the parents of Team Emperor were sitting in front.

Emperor was sitting on his throne as Rider, Army, Aloha, Mask, Skull, and Gloves were next to him.

"Welcome No-Name, to the Sudden Death Finale!" Emperor said out loud

The stage was flat with some four tall towers on the edges. There were a few hills as Emperor's throne was located in the middle.

Shadow was walking towards them slowly as he took deep breaths. "This is it, I'm getting my revenge." He said in his head.

"These are the rules that I allowed on this stage: You have an unlimited special ability as well as the ability to switch special abilities. We all have five respawn chances, once your chances are done, you are eliminated. However, the ocean is more fearsome, if you fall, you automatically are eliminated." Emperor explained to Shadow and everyone.

Shadow was almost there and listened out.

"There are seven of us and one of you No-Name, if that is your real name. So why not show us your eyes so we know who you are, since this will be your final fight against us all together."

Shadow made it and stood at place as he looked up and saw the S7 together.

Emperor stood up from his throne and walked down the hill. "So is this what you wanted, No-Name? To face us all together."

"You have no idea how long i've been waiting for this moment. To finally get my revenge." Shadow said and walked towards him.

"And what revenge is that exactly?"

"You and the others were the obstacles that prevented me from moving on from my past. I attend to win this."

"What have we done to you that is preventing you from moving on?"

"Everything." Shadow said and stopped in front of Emperor.

Emperor also stopped in front of Shadow as they looked at each other.

"This is it everyone, the battle between the two strongest Inklings has come. Who will win the ultimate Sudden Death match?" Callie said.

"Let the Sudden Death Battle begin!" Marie said and said on the intercom.

Emperor begins to show the power he has as the stage is shaking a little.

Shadow wasn't flinched and moving as he watched. "He is truly powerful like me, this would be interesting." Shadow said in his head.

Team S7 super jumped to different spots on the stage separated and waited for Emperor.

Emperor caused an explosion as he released his power to Shadow.

Shadow dodges the explosion and the crack on his goggles was now going further.

Gloves tried to sneak attack Shadow, but he was then splatted by the unxpected roller that Shadow sent in the air.

Mask and Rider went towards Shadow and tried to back him up to Skull's scope range.

Skull looked through the scope and charged his weapon. "A little more closer." He whispered.

Shadow was blocking the attacks as he heard the charge weapon complete. He uses his Bubble ability and splatted Rider and Mask together and shields himself from the attack.

Skull accidently fired the shot and tried to charge his weapon again.

Shadow switches special abilities and uses the Sting Ray ability. He aimed the ray towards Skull and fired the beam, splatting Skull before he had a chance to escape.

Army and Aloha ran around Shadow and shot at him as they kept running.

Shadow dodges every shot and uses the special ability: Bomb Rush (Burst Bombs) sending tons of Burst Bombs on the floor and at Army and Aloha.

Army uses his Ink Armor and Aloha uses his Baller abilities as they shield themselves from the Burst Bombs.

Shadow slash at them a couple of times and destroyed both the Ink Armor and Baller abilities He splatted Aloha and Army together as he uses the Burst Bombs again.

Emperor ran towards him as he was sneakily placing Ink Mines everywhere. He uses his roller to attack him

Shadow grabbed the foam with his hand and kicked away Emperor from him.

Emperor still had his roller with him and went around Shadow far away as he still placed Ink Mines.

Shadow was getting a little annoyed as he took a single step into the Ink Mine and caused the others to explode.

Emperor was far away as he watched the Ink Mines form a smoke where Shadow was.

Prince looked up and saw Shadow up there in the air. "Brother, Look up!"

Emperor looked up and saw Shadow in the sky. He super jumps to a nearby tower and uses his Inkjet ability as he sends 5 power shots at him.

Shadow uses his roller to destroy the first four and batted the fifth one back. Sending the shot under the tower and destroying the walls that support it.

The tower began to lean over the edge as it lay there permanently and it was balancing.

Emperor was on the tower as he looked up and blocked with this roller.

Shadow came down to Emperor and swung his roller at him a couple of times.

Emperor dodged and jumped over him as he tried to push Shadow off the stage.

Shadow uses his roller to grab Emperor's roller in place and punches him in the stomach.

Emperor felt the pain as he was knocked back and was at the edge of the tower.

Shadow held his roller tightly and was ready to send Emperor off the edge. "It's over, warrior." He was ready to swing his roller.

The tower under them was broken into large pieces as Mask uses Suction Bombs to help Emperor.

Emperor smirked as he looked at Shadow, "Gotcha No-Name!"

Shadow quickly lower his roller and threw a Burst Bomb at Emperor

Emperor uses his Inkjet ability and raises up in the air. "Take this, No-Name!" He fired a shot at Shadow and the tower fell to the ocean.

Shadow fell and was on a piece of the tower.

"Yay they did it!" Prince was excited.

"No, that would be too easy. He got something up his sleeve in case if this happens." Emperor's dad said and already figured out what would happen.

Shadow went to his squid form and was ready to super jump to the Squid Beakons that he left before the battle started. As he was an inch above the ocean, he super jumped to the Squid Beakon near the tower and landed safely on the stage.

S7 was together in the middle as they thought they got him.

"You may have fooled him for a moment, but he is still on this stage." Rider said.

"I know." Emperor said.

In the distance, an Ink Mine was set off as Shadow was stepping on them as he was in both abilities: Bubble and Ink Armor. He was walking towards them.

"That's part of the stage where I left all those Ink Mines."

"He's walking straight through them, without even trying to dodge them." Aloha said.

"He is a monster like he said." RIder said.

Shadow was walking towards them as the Ink Mines were exploding around him. He was not flinching and both abilities were protecting him from everything as he kept walking.

"Looks Like No-Name won't go down that easily." Callie said.

"Seems that Team S7 have to think of something new to defeat him.

Emperor was shocked to see Shadow unharmed from the Ink Mines as he was now attacked when Shadow came at him full speed and was knocked back further. He was sent into a hill as he felt weak.

Shadow's anger was rising as he released additional power to him. He uses an Inkzooka ability and points at Emperor. "Nice try, I've seen better."

Gloves was gonna be a hero as he tried to pull the Inkzooka away from Shadow.

Shadow looked behind him and knocked back Gloves to a near edge of the stage and pointed at him. "Game over, Gloves." He fired the weapon and sent a large tower of ink at Gloves and threw him off the edge.

Gloves were launched off the stage and fell to the ocean. He was then respawned back to the benches with his team.

"S7 member, Gloves, is now eliminated." Callie said.

"Six members are still on the stage. Let's see how this will go." Marie said.

"It's up to you guys." Gloves shout and cheering S7 on.

"What a disappointment. I expected more from you, Gloves." Shadow said.

What's that supposed to mean?" Emperor asked and was launched from Shadow. Back to S7.

Shadow super jumped to a tall hill and looked down at them. "Gloves weren't part of my obstacle, only you six are. You're still Team S6 no matter what."

S6 was looking at him with a mad expression.

Shadow sighed a little and was ready to reveal his secrets. "So… You all really want to know who i am this whole time? But let me show you something that I've been keeping for this moment." He put away his roller and started releasing half of his anger. He began to power yell as the stage was now shaking.

The towers of the stage were destroyed as they fell to the ocean. Bits and pieces of the stage were beginning to break as some fell to the water.

The crack on Shadow's goggles reach the end of the other side and reveal Shadow's right eye. The goggles were still on him, only a piece of the right side was broken off.

Shadow was now done as a burgundy aura was showing around him.

"Wow! No-Name shows an unknown color that we have never seen before." Callie said and was amazed

"That is really cool to see." Marie said.

"No-Name's power is unbelievable. He is in a league of his own." Squidkid Jr's dad said.

"How is Emperor and S6 supposed to compete?" Prince asked.

"No-Name has been keeping his anger this whole time. That's why he was holding back this much." Squidkid Jr. said and guessed.

Shadow's aura was gone as his right eye was showing from the crack goggles.

Emperor looked at Shadow and was surprised to figure who he was.

Rider was surprised as he was shocked, "No… I can't be it's….HIM!"

"The red-eyes freak." Skull said.

"Shadow!" Emperor said.

Everyone on the benches were whispering to each other.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it appears that No-Name has a name. His name is Shadow, everyone." Callie said and switched the name tag on the screen to Shadow.

Emperor and the S6 are now surprised to see Shadow again as they looked at him.

"So… Now that your identity is known, you're finally getting serious?" RIder asked.

"Rider…" Army said.

"It's about time, though it won't change much. I'll defeat you and win for mine and this team." Rider said and was determined.

"Come now, don't be foolish. You have no chance against me, especially in that condition." Shadow said.

Rider was getting angry as he gripped his roller. "Don't you shrug me off!" He went towards Shadow

"That idiot!" Army said and went to battle with Rider.

Aloha, Mask, and Skull followed them as they were ready to attack Shadow.

Shadow was faster then he was before as he was behind Rider and splatted him. He then looked at Army, Aloha, Mask and Skull.

S4 attacked Shadow together as they tried to land a strike on him and were pushing him back.

Shadow blocked every attack and was getting annoyed. "That… Enough!"

Skull was about to take the shot, but Shadow lifted the weapon up in the air.

"You'll pay for your ignorance!" Shadow punched Skull away and kicked the other three away from him. He super jumped towards Skull and splatted him. He even splatted the S4 together as Rider was coming down from the skies and was ready to splat Shadow.

"We're not done!" Rider demanded and pointed the roller to Shadow.

Shadow grabbed the foam again and looked up at Rider. "Impressive strike. With attacks like this i see how you made it this far."

Rider was surprised.

Shadow held a Splat Bomb with his other hand and was ready to use it. "But that will get you close to winning against me!" He pulled Rider to him and put the Splat Bomb on Rider.

Rider felt the pain and was knocked back as he was splatted after hitting a hill.

Emperor got up and went to attack Shadow. He got punched and kicked away as he quickly used his Inkjet ability and shot one powerful attack.

Shadow uses another Splat Bomb and throws it at the attack, causing it to be sent back and destroying Emperor's Inkjet.

Emperor fell hard and landed on his back.

Team S6 were struggling as they tried to get up.

"This is unbelievable. Shadow made S6 lose many of their respawn chances." Callie said.

"Shadow hasn't lost not even one chance. Looks like he really is undefeatable." Marie said.

Shadow was walking up towards Emperor, but he felt a hand grabbing his shoulder. He looked back and saw Rider.

Rider was holding a spiraling sphere as this new ability is called: Booyah Bomb. "Haven't lost a chance, wanna bet?" He placed the bomb on Shadow's back and the ability not only hurt Shadow, but it also hurts the user as well.

The Booyah Bomb expanded around Shadow as it was now over for five seconds.

Rider was launched into a hill as he pulled himself out. "Maybe it wasn't a good idea if i'm close to it."

The smoke cleared as it showed Shadow's back part of his jacket as some parts were torn.

"How dare you!" Shadow was now more mad as he charged at him.

Rider sent Burst Bombs and jumped over him to S6.

Shadow stopped and looked at them.

"Looks like you wounded him a little." Emperor said.

"With a big attack like that, i think i know how we can push him off the stage." Army said.

"What do you have in mind?" Skull asked.

"If we use attacks that big and he is opened, we can actually do some damage."

"Right. Maybe we can use combo attacks to make an opening, then use special abilities with higher power like that." Mask added.

"Yeah, it's just what we need to knock him off." Aloha said.

"I'll play along if it means finishing this punk!" Rider said and was ready.

"Rider, Mask. You guys are with me, once we create an opening. Skull, Aloha, and Army will use their special abilities. Once we got him opened." Emperor said.

"We got this, Emperor." Skull said and as the S6 were ready.

Shadow's aura comes back and already knows what they were saying. "You done conducting your little plan of attack?"

"We're going to pay you back for all the trouble you caused us and with compound interest." Rider said.

"That's right, Shadow. It's our turn to take control!" Emperor said and went into a battle stance.

"Looks like they might have a strategy to bring down Shadow." Squidkid Jr said.

"Shadow isn't going to be easy to take down." N-Pacer said.

"What do you mean, Pacer?"

"Shadow has been watching them battle ever since he was in turf wars. He knows how to outmaneuver them, how quick they are, what strategy they always do, and what they mostly do. He is too strong for them."

"But there has to be hope for them to win." Prince said.

"Maybe, but we all have to see what happens." Pacer said.

Skull had his weapon fully charged and shot Shadow.

Shadow quickly blocks the attack and blocks the attacks from Emperor, Mask, and Rider.

Emperor, Mask, and Rider were keeping Shadow distracted as they fought in the air.

Aloha, Army, and Skull use their Killer Wail ability as they air up when the others are at. They saw the opening as they fired their abilities. "NOW!"

Emperor, Mask, and Rider back away as they watched.

Shadow uses the Bubble ability and wasn't going to be fooled twice. "You really thought that would fool me twice?!" He uses the Sting Ray ability and destroys the Killer Wail abilities.

"But… how?" Emperor asked and was shocked.

Shadow looked down towards Aloha, Army, and Skull as he dove down.

Aloha, Army, and Skull uses their Bubble abilities as their expanded the shields in the air

Shadow uses his Splashdown ability and destroys that Bubble abilities as he keeps going down towards them.

Army, Aloha, and Skull dodged the Splashdown ability and went far away from Shadow. They tried again and used the Killer Wail abilities again.

Shadow uses his Bubble Ability again and shield himself from both the three Killer Wails and the Auto Bombs that threw thrown by Mask

"Nothing's working!" Mask said and kept throwing bombs.

Emperor got an idea. "What if all six of us attack him at one?"

"Let's try it then." Rider said.

Shadow kicked away Emperor, Rider, and Mask and put more power to his Bubble ability.

Emperor, Rider, and Mask uses the Sting Ray abilities and fire at Shadow.

"Looks like they have Shadow in the middle of a milti-attack. How would he escape this one?" Callie said and in the intercom.

"Seems like Shadow has to think of something in order to keep going." Marie said.

"We got him this time, now we'll have to keep him there until he's done." Army said.

Shadow was still keeping his Bubble ability up and was trying to think of something.

"We won this time Shadow, time to send you back to the bottom." Skull said.

Shadow remembers Rider using the Booyah Bomb ability as he plans to use both the Booyah Bomb and Splashdown ability together. He raises his hand in the air and gathers energy. Instead of saying Booyah, he put his anger into it as it started glowing a maroon color. He power yells and keeps focus on both the Booyah Bomb and the Bubble ability.

The S6 were now putting more energy to their special weapons and trying to stop Shadow from using his special ability.

Shadow's Booyah Bomb was now complete as he grabbed the sphere and combined his Splashdown ability together with it. He was launched in the air and went down full speed. When Shadow ground pounded, the hurricane of ink and wind was from around the stage as both the special abilities were destroyed and the S6 was taking up in the air. This Special Ability was called: Scar Cyclone

The stage was now losing some parts as some were now falling to the ocean.

The Scar Cyclone was now finished as the winds were back to normal.

The S6 fell from the sky and landed roughly, feeling weak and couldn't move at all.

"How...how is he this strong?" Emperor asked and was struggling to get up.

Shadow looked down at them and took deep breaths "The time has come."

Rider came down to Shadow and started attacking him with his roller. "You think i'll just let this stand and you win?!"

Shadow kicked Rider to a hill and looked at him.

"There's no need to follow the rules no longer, YOU THE ONLY ONE LEFT! Take what you deserve and lose this match!" Rider demanded and went towards him in a Kraken ability.

Shadow dodged him and grabbed the tentacle. He spun Rider around and threw him to the ocean.

Rider fell to the ocean and was respawned back to Team Yellow-Green.

"S7 member, Rider, is now eliminated." Callie said and checked off Rider.

"Five members of Team S7 are still on the stage." Marie said.

Shadow dodged a Burst Bomb from Emperor and looked back at him. "So you actually think you could face me alone?"

"What i think doesn't matter, it's the only choice i got. Team S7 must survive." Emperor said and was determined.

"Confident as you always have been, just like back at the orphanage."

"Why is that you keep on bringing up the orphanage thing? Is there more that we all should know about you and why are you against me and the other?"

"The Squid Sister will tell you everything. They interviewed me and already know my dreadful past." Shadow said.

Everyone looked at the Squid Sisters as they wanted to know.

Army, Aloha, Mask, and Skull were still struggling as they decided to listen.

"Should we Marie?" Callie asked.

"Perhaps it is time that all of you should know the backstory of Shadow and the reason against the S6." Marie said.

Shadow closed his eyes and remembers his childhood.

"It was informed that the owner of the orphanage found Shadow on the doorstep, not knowing who left them there. The owner took him in and raised him. During his time in the orphanage, everyone bullied him because of his red pupils. Nobody didn't even stood up and defended him, but chose to watch. The S6 were more cruel to him than the others. At the age of fourteen, Shadow overheard the owner as they found Shadow's parents passed away when he was the age of ten. Shadow couldn't believe it as he went to the cemetery to see the proof and it was true. Shadow's parents were gone and he was now all alone. Shadow suffered untold grief believing that everyone will turn against him and not want to be with him. After that, his view of the world changed, he gave up trusting anyone. As he saw it, he kept an anger that was in him all his life. He wanted to feel belonging and respected for what he is. Only this victory will sure give him what he wants, having feelings just gets in the way. This colossal, burning, anger for respect builds on a bedrock of suffering and desolation." Marie explained to everyone and was now feeling sorry for Shadow.

Shadow opened his eyes and looked down.

Everyone was now beginning to feel sorry for Shadow as some of them who were in the same orphanage with Shadow began to feel guilty.

"So that's why you hate us? You just want to feel like someone, other than feeling like something. Here I thought you were just a heartless Inking who wants revenge for no reason, but it turns out you wanted to feel belonged." Emperor said and finally understood.

"At least you had parents and friends that trusted you in every way, but i was alone with no parents and friends." Shadow said and threw a Splat Bomb at Emperor.

Emperor dodged it and looked at Shadow. "Having trouble trusting people?"

Shadow nearly snapped and growled a little.

"You're stuck in the past, that's all you care about." Emperor dodges Shadow's attack and backs away. "Oh I'm sorry, did I just struck a nerve and made you angry?"

Shadow grabbed Emperor as they went through a hill and punched him away.

Emperor charged at Shadow and collided rollers together. "Let me guess, you think you can win; you'll have everything that you wanted. A family and friends that will trust you!"

"Nonsense!" Shadow broke the collide and kicked Emperor to the edge of the stage. He super jumped to the hill near the edge.

Emperor was hanging on to the edge as he held his grip.

"No… Emperor!" Army said.

"I lost my family a long time again. If this is what has to be, so be it. I've been holding in this anger for a long time, now I'll show it to you." Shadow raises his hand up in the air and uses another Booyah Bomb. He put half of his anger in it as he looked down at Emperor.

Emperor tried to get up to the stage, but couldn't.

"Let the burden of weakness of mine fall upon you, Emperor!" Shadow demanded and threw the Booyah Bomb close to Emperor.

The Booyah Bomb expanded wider as it was coming towards Emperor.

Army, Aloha, Mask, and Skull super jumped to Emperor and together used their Bubble abilities together. They hold back the attack with all the strength they have.

"Are you guys insane? Get out of here while you still can." Emperor asked and looked at them.

Skull and Army lifted Emperor and threw him over Shadow.

Emperor landed where S4 was at as he looked up and found their ink tanks.

"We're giving up our chances for you, Emperor. You owe us for this. Sacrificing ourselves to help you, look at us being all belonged." Aloha said.

Shadow took out a Splat Bomb and was about to throw it. "Farewell warriors." He threw the Splat Bomb at the Booyah Bomb and it exploded.

The Booyah Bomb caused the S4 to be launched and fell to the ocean.

The S4 were respawned back to their teams.

"S7 members; Army, Aloha, Mask, and Skull are eliminated." Callie said and marked them off.

"Emperor is the last standing member. Will he be able to stand against Shadow? Let's see how it will end." Marie said.

Shadow looked back at Emperor and crossed his arms. "You have escaped elimination. You should be grateful to your allies, they sacrifice themselves for your weak and miserable chances."

Emperor was putting S4's ink into his tank and restored stamina and energy. "I will win for them, their teams, and mine."

"Do you honestly believe that?" Shadow asked and was getting tired as he put half of his anger in the Booyah Bomb.

Emperor saw the opportunity to attack as he went full speed and started to attack Shadow with every special ability.

Shadow took the special ability like nothing and was launched into a hill. He destroyed the hill and looked at Emperor.

Emperor was now getting the upper hand as he smirked. "I do believe that I can win and you will lose."

"Looks like Shadow is now overwhelmed. Can this mean that Shadow will lose against Emperor?" Callie asked.

"I would seem so." Marie said.

Shadow was getting frustrated as his anger came back. "It's not possible! I cannot lose, I won't accept defeat!"

Emperor crossed his arms and looked at him.

"Might mix right and might alone, without strength we have nothing! If I don't win this, all my effort, all I struggle to achieve and get here; all of it will be pointless. I'll end up back where I was back then, and I absolutely refuse to go through that again!" The stage began to shake again as his anger broke his limits. "I can not! I WILL NOT!" He power yells again as the burgundy aura comes back and starts a Scar Cyclone ability again. He closed his eyes and the winds were blowing more furiously. The goggles flew off of him and blowned to Inkopolis Plaza.

Emperor stood his ground and covered his eyes.

Everyone was barely covering their eyes as they felt the anger from Shadow.

"That power is ferocious, like a hurricane!" Emperor's dad said.

"Shadow's power is growing even higher than before he was." Prince said.

Shadow's rage not only caused destroying some parts of the stage, but also destroyed the timer. He let out an explosion of ink and spread it on the stage.

Shadow's ink color changes from Blue to Burgundy. He has now finally shown his true ink color.

The stage was a complete color of Burgundy.

Shadow was walking towards Emperor and stopped three feet away from him. His goggles were away from him as he showed both his red pupils. Some parts of his jacket were torn as some showed his arms.

"That's Shadow's true ink color?" Prince asked.

"Burgundy shows the true color of a powerful warrior. He is indeed one." Squidkid Jr. said.

"Not only that, but it also means to conquer any threat that opposes." N-Pacer said.

Emperor was impressed and was ready to battle Shadow.

Shadow charged at Emperor and attacked him.

Emperor blocked every attack and collided weapons with Shadow.

Shadow was blinded by rage as he only focused on winning against Emperor. "It doesn't matter how high your power is, I will not lose. NEVER!" He took out a Burst Bomb and threw it at Emperor.

Emperor is knocked back and quickly dodges the upcoming attacks from Shadow.

Shadow uses the Bomb Rush ability and throws thirty Burst Bombs at Emperor.

Emperor blocked the attacks and looked up in the air.

Shadow was in the air and looked down at Emperor. He landed on a stable hill and used the Sting Ray ability. He cranked the ray to max and fired the beam at Emperor.

Emperor uses the Killer Wail ability and fires at Shadow as well.

Both abilities collide together as one tired to push the other. However, Shadow was pushing more power as the Sting Ray pushes.

Emperor's Killer Wail was about to break as he tried to keep up.

Shadow went full power as the Sting Ray broke the Killer Wail's beam and went towards Emperor. "It's over, Emperor!"

Emperor was dragged down to the ground as the beam ended and caused a large explosion where Emperor was.

Team Emperor was shocked to see Emperor laying there being defeated.

Shadow walked up to Emperor and looked down at him.

Emperor slowly stood up and kneel down. The king has finally kneeled down in defeat

Shadow held a Splat Bomb in front of Emperor and was ready to finish his revenge. "You are a true warrior Emperor, there could be no doubt. I must thank you for helping me get past my obstacles so I can move. But I regret that our spirit in battle must come to a glorious end, what a shame. Even though you may not win your fifth tournament, know that you have won in my memory. Farewell." He said and dropped the Splat Bomb on the floor.

The Splat Bomb exploded and destroyed the part of the stage where Emperor was.

Emperor fell with the destroyed stage and looked up at Shadow. "We made him this way, and I blame myself for that. You're welcome Shadow. S7, father, and my team, i'm sorry." He said in his head and began to shed tears.

Shadow watched as he took a deep breath and felt relieved. His vengeance was now over.

Emperor dive into the ocean and respawned back to Team Emperor.

Shadow crossed his arms and looked back at everyone. "My revenge is now over." The anger he held vanished away as he was now at peace. Shadow leveled up to 50, the max level, and earned five million coins.

"S7 leader, Emperor, is now eliminated!" Callie said.

"Shadow wins the Sudden Death Finale!" Marie said.

Confetti popped in the air as everyone clapped and cheered for Shadow.

Emperor's dad picked up Emperor and shake him a little.

Emperor opened his eyes and looked at his team and dad.

"You did great out there son."

"I thought you would be disappointed in me for losing."

"It's not about winning or losing, what matters is that you did your best."

"You were cool out there, brother." Prince said.

"You are a cool star." Squidkid Jr. said.

"You helped out someone who just needs to get it out of their system." N-Pacer said.

A helicopter came to Shadow as he got in and flew off the stage. It took him back to Inkopolis and made it to Starfish Mainstage.

Everyone was there as they were cheering for Shadow.

"Here he is, your new champion. Give it up for Shadow!" Callie said and moved out of the way for Shadow.

Shadow was now on the stage as he waved at everyone.

Marie came up to Shadow with a trophy and gave it to him. "Here is your trophy and your prize is now being an X ranker. Congratulations Shadow."

Shadow took the trophy and nodded. He thought about something and came up to the mic. "Thank you everyone for giving me what i wanted. I appreciate it deeply. But i don't deserve this trophy."

Everyone stopped and listened.

"I was blinded by revenge that I wasn't myself. I was too hard on everyone for what I became. I just wanted to feel like I could belong with everyone. I will keep the prize, but i believe this trophy belongs to S7, not me. I'm sorry everyone." Shadow handed back the trophy to Marie and jumped off the stage. He walked away and looked down.

"Hey Shadow." Emperor said to stop him.

Shadow stopped and didn't look back.

"I know we just finished the battle for your revenge, but i'm already eager for the next battle. Maybe you don't want to hear this, but I feel like we've gotten stronger together and i think that's worth a lot. I hope to see you again Shadow." Emperor said and was now feeling grateful to Shadow

"Me too." Rider said.

"Us as well." Army, Aloha, Mask, and Skull said.

"And even us." Prince, Squidkid Jr., and N-Pacer said.

Shadow shed tears as he smiled. His lost emotions came back as he waved bye to them. He continued walking away to Inkopolis Plaza.

"What an incredible warrior." Rider said.

"Yeah…" Emperor said.

"Well… looks like the trophy will go to Team S7." Marie said and handed the trophy to Emperor.

"Let's start partying everyone for the celebration of the new champion!" Callie said.

Everyone cheered as they started partying.

Shadow walked back to Inkopolis Plaza as he walked up to Judd.

Judd was laying on top of a replica of a cap that belongs to a legendary verteran.

Shadow looked at the note and took the Legendary Cap from under judd. The note reads: *To Shadow, for reaching the max level, I present you the Legendary Cap. Congratulations on being the new champion.* "Thank you Judd." He wore the cap and petted Judd.

Judd purred and fell asleep.

Shadow walked away and stopped in front of his broken Octo Goggles. He picked them up and took them with him. He made it back to his apartment and opened up an empty box. He put his Octoling Goggles and Navy Eminence Jacket in the box and kept the Octoling Boots. He closed up the box and label it: *Cursed Gear, Do Not Open!* He put the box in his closet and sat down on his bed. He took a deep breath and nodded. "I'm free from my past." He took off his boots and cap and went to bed.

The next morning.

Shadow woke up early as he got a message from Emperor saying: *Greeting Shadow, I want to give you something as a token of forgiveness. Me, S7, and my team will be waiting in Inkopolis Plaza. See you soon.* He quickly put on his Legendary Cap, Octo Tee, and Octoling Boots and went to Inkopolis Plaza. He made it and saw Emperor with everyone. "I got your message."

"Look umm…. I know that we got off on the wrong foot back then. I just want to say… Sorry for treating you badly." Emperor apologized.

"Yeah, we screwed up a lot." Rider said.

"We didn't mean too." Army, Aloha, Mask, and Skull said.

"Even though i wasn't part of your revenge, sorry for mocking you." Gloves said.

"It's fine everyone. It's all in the past." Shadow said.

"As a symbol of an apology and token for forgiveness, I want to give you these." Emperor said and let N-Pacer go to Shadow.

Pacer gave Shadow the Eminence Cuff, the Milky Eminence Jacket, and Milky Enperrials as a gift. She also sneakily gave him her phone number and a note saying: *If you need someone to talk to, you can always talk to me.*

"Thank you Pacer." Shadow took the gift and decided to put on the Eminence Cuff on his ear and wore the Milky Eminence Jacket with his Octo Tee. He feels like a new Inkling as he smiles.

"So what will you do now, Shadow?" Emperor asked.

"I don't know, I haven't thought about it."

"Have you eaten breakfast before coming here?"

Shadow shakes his head. "No, I haven't."

"Come, we'll all eat breakfast together as your new friends." Emperor said and led the way.

"Ok i like that." Shadow said and followed.

Everyone went to a restaurant to eat for breakfast.

Shadow is finally happy that he is now free from his past and made friends with his enemies. He put away his old gear in his closet to be forgotten. Some people may call him No-Name, but his friends call him by his real name.
