As always I only own my oc enjoy.
Alexis pov
I look at my watch and realize I've been sitting on the bank for over 2 hours. I grabbed my stuff and ran up the hill towards my truck. The bonfire starts in an hour and I'm freaking starving. I got in the Jeep and considered going home to grab a snack, then I remembered Jenna would probably be home and given the blow-up between Jeremy and Elena at school that's probably a bad idea. Finally, I crank up the engine and head off to the Grill, with everyone going to the bonfire it should be pretty quiet.
When I pull up I see that I'm right I barely recognize any of the cars out front. There was a blue Camaro that I don't think I've ever seen before. I walked in and not wanting to wait for a table, I strolled up to the bar. Matt was there, looking like he was getting ready to go.
"HEY!" I chirp, batting my eyelashes.
"Hey Alexis," he looked at my face, "what do you want?"
"French fries to go please and if a few cheese sticks fall in I totally won't be mad. Oh and a coke." I flash my biggest smile "Pretty please."
"Fine 10 minutes." he almost looked defeated as he walked to the back.
I took a seat at the end of the bar so I won't be in anyone's way and started to look around. It's so dead right now, I had never realized how young the customer base was. There were maybe 5 tables being used and one other person sitting at the bar. I couldn't really see his face. He was turned away from me talking to the bartender. Damn Matt hurry up with those fries I'm so hungry. I thought to myself. I tried to sneak a peek at the mystery man, only to find he was staring at me like I'm dinner, a cold shiver runs down my spine as I lock eyes with him. Icy blue with black hair and a smirk that would make any girl swoon, no I know I've never seen him before. I look away and there is silence, should I say something? No don't be stupid he's probably meeting some supermodel. Wow, he's pretty.
When I looked up from my thoughts he was gone, then I looked to my right, BAM there he was.
"HOLY SHIT" I clutch my chest for dramatic effect, "Put a bell on, Jesus!"
"Aren't you a little young to be sitting at the bar?" He asked.
"If you think I'm too young, you're clearly too old." I smirk, seriously Matt food I'm starting to get nervous.
"I guess age is irrelevant anyway, Damon Salvatore." he stuck his hand out.
" Alexis... Gilbert. I've never seen you before so I'm assuming you're new here."
"My family has been here for generations. We own the old boarding house... and a founding family member, thank you."
Just then Matt came through with my fries and drink.
"Welp, that's my cue. Later creepy dude." I grab my food and head out to my Jeep. I have to sit for a minute to catch my breath before finally heading out.
Damon's pov
Hmmmmm, Later indeed, I thought to myself this bourbon isn't doing it.
"Hey bartender, anything fun going on around here?" I asked.
"There's a big bonfire going on out by the nature center but that's about it. Welcome to small town America"
I'll bet money that's where that girl is going...maybe I'll just bump into her.
"Thanks man" I threw some money on the counter enough to cover my tab plus plenty to make the bartenders' night. If I'm going to be sticking around gotta make friends in low places. I walked out the door and head to the Camaro, time to party.
