So I had found Alison. More importantly, my whole family had found Alison. It was pretty safe to say that her cover had been blown. She was looking at us like a deer in the headlights and didn't know what to say.
"Alison?" Dad responded.
"No." She responded. "My name is CeCe. It says right here on my nametag."
I couldn't help but wonder how Alison managed to get a job without someone noticing her. I supposed that it was possible that people forgot about the incident outside of Rosewood and it had been a few weeks, so the pictures were taken down.
At that point, one of the waitresses came over to us.
"Is there a problem here?" She asked.
"Yes there is." Dad responded. "I'd like to speak the owner/general manager."
"I'll go get her for you." The waitress replied. I could tell that he wanted us to stay where we were so Alison couldn't try to run. We would finally be able to find out what had happened to her.
We waited there for about two minutes before an African-American woman came over to us.
"Hi, my name is Sarah." The woman said to us. "What seems to be the problem?"
"Hi, Sarah. This has nothing to do the restaurant itself, but I would like to inform you that this girl is a missing person from Rosewood and also a minor." Dad explained.
"Is this true, CeCe?" Sarah asked the blonde.
"N…no." Ali answered. You know for the first time ever, it looked like she had been caught in a lie.
Dad then took out his iPhone and pulled the story about Alison and showed it to Sarah. She looked like she believed it.
"I see." Sarah remarked. "Well honesty is important to us at Sky Foods. Alison, you're fired."
"If it's alright with you, we'd like to have her join us because it's probably not a good idea to let her leave unaccompanied. She is a friend of my daughter's." Dad explained. He didn't have to explain which daughter since Mike still looked like a boy. He also showed a picture of us together. You know it was amazing that just a few years ago, this wouldn't be possible.
"I will seat you then." Sarah responded.
We then headed to our table. I didn't think there was a way to make our meal even more awkward than I originally thought it would be, but fate found a way.
"Why did you want people to think that you're dead?" Mom asked. "Did you kill that girl that was buried in your yard?"
Probably accusing her of murder wasn't the best lead.
"No." Alison remarked in shock. "I would never kill anyone. I don't know who that girl was or why she was buried in my yard, but I promise that I had nothing to do with it."
"I can tell you that the police are going to want to talk to you." Dad stated. "You should probably tell us what happened before then."
"You don't have to turn me into them." She stated.
"We don't think that you're a criminal." Dad replied. "Extortion aside, all that we want is to help you and we're not going to the police tonight. We're going to take you home with us until we can get your parents to come back."
I couldn't help but wonder when Alison had committed extortion. I believed that she would do it, but when had she done it?
The other thing that I wasn't sure about was whether or not to tell Alison about Mike. I knew that we always told her everything, but things were complicated now and I wasn't one hundred percent sure I could trust her.
Once we got home, things were a little bit tense. Theoretically, we didn't have an actual way of keeping Ali there. I took her to my room. It seemed like I would just have to convince her. That was when my mom came in.
"So, I think it would probably be best for all of us to take the day off tomorrow." She declared. "After we go to the police, we can take your sister shopping."
"Sister?" Ali asked in confusion. Well, it seemed like she was going to find out now.
"Mike is kind of transgender." I explained. I probably should have worded that better since you can't be kind of transgender.
"Okay, I didn't see that coming, but if anyone is good at giving makeovers, it's me." She stated.
"So you're not going to try to leave the house in the middle of the night, are you?" I asked after my mom left.
"I don't know if there's any point. People would just start looking for me again." She declared before I gave her a hug.
"So I need to talk to Hanna." I declared before I dialed my girlfriend.
"Hey, Babe." She greeted. "How was dinner with the family?"
"It was very interesting. We kind of ran into Ali. She's in my room right now." I answered.
"So, what's going to happen now?" She asked.
"I don't know." I replied. "That's part of the reason why I'm calling. We're going to the police station with her tomorrow. Anyway, how was dinner with your dad?"
"He's engaged and his girlfriend has a daughter." Hanna answered. "On top of that, she's also pregnant. This is all happening so fast."
"Well you did always say that you wanted a sister." I remarked. "Now you could have two. Anyway, I need to get ready for bed. I love you."
"I love you too." She reciprocated. "Bye."
I then hung up at the phone and looked at the other blonde in my room.
"So do you want something to sleep in?" I asked Alison.
"I usually just sleep naked." She replied. I blushed.
"Could you not do that tonight?" I requested.
"Fine, I'll sleep in my underwear then." She declared. I thought about pressing it further, but I supposed it was fine.
"Just promise me that you won't leave." I requested as she started taking her clothes off.
"I promise I won't leave." She told me.
She was still asleep when I awoke in the morning. I was glad that she had kept her word. It seemed that although she lied a lot, Ali was still someone kept promises. For some reason. I always liked watching her sleep. I then realized that was kind of weird and probably also something that I should never say aloud. Edward Cullen is kind of really creepy, but I was still waiting for the Midnight Sun release.
After breakfast, Mom took the three of us to the police station. Everyone looked like they were seeing a ghost when Alison walked in.
"Hello, Barry." Mom greeted a familiar face. He lived down the street from us. "We need to talk to Detective Wilden."
I knew for one that the murder investigation was going to be officially closed. It still did leave questions about who had been buried in Alison's backyard.
"I'll go get him." Barry responded.
"So, it seems that someone is not dead." Wilden declared. "I suppose you should step in my office."
"You're not going to talk to her alone." Mom replied. "She's a minor and as her temporary guardian, I will be accompanying her for any questioning."
From what I managed to hear. Alison said that she attacked and even buried alive, but she managed to survive. She didn't see who had attacked her.
After we were done at the station, we went to the mall. The main reason that we were there was for Mike, but we also needed to get Alison some clothes as well.
"So have you thought anymore about what name you want to use yet?" I asked my sister.
"I was probably going to go with Lucy." She answered.
"Well I'm going to go take Lucy to the salon then." Mom stated. "Why don't you two go and get some clothes for Ali."
That led to the two of us going off in the other direction.
"I'm sorry that we ruined what you had going for you." I remarked.
"I'm not sure how much more longer I would be able to keep it up anyway." She admitted. "I had a feeling that I would have been found sooner or later. I did think that it would be by Spencer though. You know I always thought you were smartest of all of us."
"Really?" I asked in disbelief.
"Yes. Spencer may get the best grades, but your writing is top notch. You could probably teach dad's class if you wanted to. Maybe you could even me write my story." She suggested.
"What do you mean write your story?" I questioned.
"I always thought the best way to tell a story was through a book. I give the account of what happened through fictional characters. That was always what drew me towards you more than anything else. You've always loved literature the way I have." She explained.
At that point, I couldn't help but feel a little bit uncomfortable.
"Ali, are you flirting with me?" I asked.
"No…" She said with a blush. I didn't think I had ever seen her blush before. "I know you're with Hanna. I guess that did sound a little bit romantic."
Once we were done with shopping, we went to the salon to check on my sister. I couldn't help but be surprised when I saw her. She looked completely different. For starters, her hair was blonde and had some extensions and her face had been made up.
"How do I look?" She asked. I only had once answer for that.
"Like my sister." I declared before I gave her a hug.
That night after dinner, I knew that I needed to spend some time with Hanna. We hadn't really been together for the past few days and it was going to be important.
"So I get a new sister and so do you." She commented. "Are you competing with me?"
"If I was a competition, I would win because I've always had a sister." I pointed out with a smile. "So maybe you should try to get know your new sister better."
"I still don't even know if I want this.' She admitted.
"Well, this isn't really something you can change. Breaking up your father's relationship won't end well." I told her. "You should try to get to know her better."
"So do you know when Ali's family is going to be coming back?" She asked me.
"Well Jason is still in rehab and her dad is out of the country." I answered. "We don't have her mom's new number yet. I don't suppose you know anyone that has it.
"Maybe Spencer's dad has it. The two of them always seemed close." Hanna replied.
"I will tell my dad to talk to him about it." I stated. "I just know that Ali going to be staying with us for a little while. I also know that she won't be able to come back to school until she is brought back to life."
"But she's not dead." Hanna pointed out.
"Legally, she is." I explained. "It takes a judge to rule that she is not dead and we have to wait for either a parent or my parents to my be named her guardian before we can do that."
"That's stupid. She's obviously alive." She remarked.
"That's not how the law works." I told her. "A computer won't know that she is alive because they can only do what you tell them."
At that time, I got a text message from Spencer and I'm pretty sure Hanna did as well.
"I think I know who A is." It read.
So Mike is now Lucy and Ali is staying with the Montgomerys. Also who does Spencer think A is, even though she's probably wrong. Please don't forget to review.
