Hello darlings, sorry I couldn't wait to update my story and I couldn't sleep lol plus ideas kept jumping in my head so really this is therapy to get these scenarios out of my brain :') Please review and enjoy!
Snuggling up closer to the comfy cushion I frown at the annoying poking feeling I was experiencing in my ribs, waving my hand in the general direction of the poking it stops. Smiling successfully I cuddle back down in my blanket and sigh happily, that was until something grabbed my blanket and with incredible strength yanked it, and me, off the armchair making me crash to the ground. Not a nice wakeup call let me tell you! Groaning I open my eyes and blurrily see a blonde and a brunette figures standing over me.
"I swear to anything Holy, if you both do that again you will not make it to Erebor because I will kill you!" I growl out to both of them while sitting up groggily, rubbing my arm and side, if I have a bruise because of those two I will thump them!
"Well aren't you a ray of sunshine in the morning." I glare at Fili as Kili holds out his hand to help me off the floor, smiling me thanks at him I place my hand in his trying to ignore the tingles. It is way too early to be dealing with this weirdness! He clasped my hand and pulled me up though maybe with to much strength as I flew up and straight into his chest. Blushing ten shades of red I look up and see a slightly tinge of red on his cheeks but soon was drawn to the small grin he was sending me.
"We always seem to end up like this don't we?" His voice lowered softly making my knees go slightly weak, swallowing I nod slightly dazed at him. Shaking myself out of it I take a regrettable step back from his chest and arms.
"Last time I was carrying a very heavy cupboard and couldn't see, so that was your fault." I point at him and grin, grabbing my blanket off the floor I fold it in a neat square and grab my backpack. Taking out a pair of trousers and the tunic I notice a bra and pants stuffed in the trousers, well thank gosh for that I was starting to panic I was going to have to somehow clean the ones I am wearing and then have to wear them.
"I take the blame for last time, but this time was totally your fault." His cheeky response made me turn and give him an unimpressed look.
"Uh huh and how do you suggest this time was my fault?" I tease; his growing grin let me know he was enjoying this small disagreement just as much as I was.
"Okay you two you can argue when we get out of this Hobbit hole! Miss Marcy, we are going to leaving soon so unless you are wearing your dress you might want to change." Fili interrupted with a smirk at his brother.
Nodding thankfully at Fili for letting me know I quickly grabbed everything and speed-walked to the bathroom seeing that all the other dwarves were in the kitchen I figured I better change fast if I wanted anything to eat before we set off.
Pulling off the purple dress I fold it carefully and place it on the cupboard by the sink, slipping off the underwear I am wearing I shove it into my back pack figuring I will clean it on the road. Slipping on the clean underwear and bra I am happy that they actually fit, pulling on the trousers and tunic I glance at myself in the mirror, brushing my hair slightly I fish-tail braid it until it hung down my back and tie it with a bit of leather. Looking more like I am from this world I grin, my adventure awaits! Yanking on my thick socks and then boots I do a few jumps in them to see if they are comfy, I do not know if Gandalf plans extremely well or if he knew it was going to be he was going to bring to this world but everything he has given me fits me exactly right. Now for the sword, I place the baldrick belt around my waist and clasp it, letting the sword hang on my left, sliding on my cloak I can't help but feel like a proper little adventurer. Let's hope I do as well as I look. Placing my backpack on my back I step out of the bathroom and into the kitchen, I see most of the dwarves finishing off, grabbing a piece of toast and sausage I quickly scarper it down.
"Miss Marcy?" I turn and see Dori and Ori looking shocked.
"That's my name lads, don't wear it out." I joke with them, Ori blushed while Dori smiled indulgently at me.
"You certainly look different from yesterday lass."
"I should hope so Dori, I figured dresses aren't practical for running around in the wild. I fall over enough without tripping over a dress." I giggle which gets a smile out of most of the dwarves around us.
"Time to go." Looking over at Dwalin I nod and feel two arms loop through my own as I walk towards the door, looking left and right I see Fili and Kili grinning down at me. Rolling my eyes I carry on walking as they begin talking between themselves.
"Doesn't Marcy just look dashing in her travelling clothes, almost couldn't recognise her."
"I agree she just looks so adorable with that little sword and back pack, her first adventure I am so proud."
"So adorable! And what's this I see, a braid in her hair."
"Not all down and flowing like all the maidens around."
"No it-" I elbow them both hard in the ribs while trying to hide the grin that was trying it's best to escape.
"Are you both going to be like this the whole way?" I ask. They both nod which makes a playful groan escape my lips making them chuckle.
"You will grow to love us." Kili states with such confidence I can't help but smirk.
"It takes a whole quest to love you both? How annoying are you?" I tease them; Fili playfully glares down at me while Kili sticks his tongue out at me. Giggling I look back at the Hobbit hole which was disappearing with every step we were taking. "Has Bilbo still not decided to join us?" I ask the brothers to which they shrug.
We walk for a few hours till we get to a town called Bree which was on the outskirts of the Shire where we gained a lot of ponies though not enough for me to have a pony of my own it seemed but two were used for supplies.
"Am I supposed to walk to this Mountain of yours?" I grumble at Balin who chortled.
"No lass you can ride with one of the lads I am sure they will not mind having a beautiful maiden like you in their arms." He teased me, pouting at him I roll my eyes.
"That's what worries me Balin." I joke back while walking over to the brothers, seeing me coming they both grin at me.
"Well Miss Marcy, it seems you are in need of a pony and a rider." Fili smirked down at me.
"What gave me away?" I laughed. Shrugging he looks at his brother and tilts his head in bemusement, before looking back at me; somehow it seemed that he was amused by something but for the life of me I couldn't tell you what.
"Marcy would you like to ride with me?" Looking up at Kili I smile while nodding.
"Thank you Kili!" He reaches his hand down from where he was on top of the pony, quickly taking my backpack off I place my hand in his; I could feel those tingles again and that pull from my chest, jeez what is with this? Maybe I am coming down with some type of illness? Holding on to his hand securely he pulls me up in front of him, trying not to fall off the other side I grab the saddle for dear life. Feeling Kili's chest shake I guess he was laughing at me.
"Have you never been on a horse before?" He asks while taking my backpack off me and securing it to the pony. Shaking my head I cling tighter to the saddle, Kili's arms reach around me and grab the reins and clicks the pony on, nervously looking over my shoulder I see his relaxed face and a smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
"So how did you get anywhere before this?" He asks, swallowing hard I catch Gandalf's eye, he shakes his head gently, giving him a small nod I try and improvise.
"Would you believe me if I told you I walked everywhere." I wobbled slightly in the saddle when the pony shook its mane, Kili's one arm wrapped around my stomach and waist pulling me up against his chest securely. It wasn't the tightness of his arm that was making my heart speed rapidly in my chest nor why I suddenly became breathless. I could feel myself blush as he leant forward slightly and jumped when his lips brushed my ear:
"I will not let you fall, trust me." His voice had lowered into a husky tone making all the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, swallowing hard I place my one hand on his arm while the other holds onto the saddle.
"I trust you Kili" I whisper back to him and turn my head so I can see him, sending him a smile I marginally lean back more and more as the pony plods on.
"So tell me about you Kili." I ask when I feel my heart lower its rapid beating from being so close to him. Feeling a huff of air by my ear, I look at him and grin.
"Not much to tell." He replies looking into my eyes for a brief second before looking to our left as his brother rides up.
"Is my brother being modest?" Fili raises his blonde eyebrows so high I thought he might lose them in his hair. Giggling I nod.
"He is indeed Fili, not letting me know anything about him. I ask you, is that fair?" I joke with the older brother. He clutches his heart dramatically.
"My dear brother have I taught you nothing, you must answer any question a young maiden asks you! T'is the polite thing to do." He carries on melodramatically for a few more moments, turning my head I stage whisper to Kili:
"Is he always like this?" As he laughs I can feel it rumble in his chest and it makes certain muscles in my stomach clench in a way that makes me breathless again, did I mention that pulling sensation in my chest has still not let up and is getting stronger, leaning against Kili seems to lessen it somewhat though.
Seeing Fili's grin at my comment he leans over and ruffles my hair.
"Careful young maiden before I push you off your noble stead." Laughing I shake my head at him while Kili's arm curls tighter against my stomach so I am pulled up closer against his chest, smiling I squeeze his hand softly to let him know my thanks. Glad to know one dwarf doesn't want me to fall off the pony.
"Why do you keep calling me a maiden, for all you know I have a husband and twelve little dwarves running around at home!" I state and see the brothers give each other an unsure look, trying not to smile I raise my eyebrows and turn slightly so Kili can also see my questioning look.
"Well you don't have braids in your hair…" Seeing my confused look Fili stops talking and tilts his head. "You do know about the braiding ceremony right?" I kept up my blank look because I honestly had no clue what he was going on about, a braiding ceremony? "Marcy didn't your parent's tell you about this?" He asked worriedly, sending his brother a look I couldn't decipher. Gulping I bit my lip, I hate that I am going to lie to them but Gandalf thought it was best that no one knows I am from a different planet and I am kind of guessing they wouldn't exactly be the most friendly of dwarves if they knew I was a complete outsider.
"Um, my parent's died when I was quite young so I was brought up by Men since then and they couldn't really tell me anything about dwarves customs." I improvise as quickly as I could, technically it was all true, parents did die when I was younger and I was brought up by 'men' so technically not completely lying! Seeing both Fili and Kili's saddened faces I felt like a complete cow!
"Marc I am so sorry." Kili whispers to me, looking back at him I see his eyes were slightly misted up, turning to Fili I can see his just as upset and I squeeze Kili's hand softly.
"No need to be sorry, you lost someone as well?" I ask and they both nod sadly.
"Our father." Fili states, sighing softly I link my fingers with Kili's and lean over carefully and pat Fili on the shoulder.
"I know you are probably sick of hearing this but I am sorry as well." They both send me half smiles. A few moments of tense silence I frown, "right we are not going all the way to this Mountain with sad faces so how much do you bet me that Bilbo will turn up by the end of today." I grin as I see both of their eyes light up.
"Hear lads did you hear the little lassie making bets!" Bofur shouted from ahead of us, shocked I send Kili a worried look; his cheeky grin didn't do anything to settle my nerves. He squeezed my fingers which were still locked with his on my stomach, looking down I could feel the blush spread across my cheeks and down my neck. Trying to unlink my fingers from his he holds on tight.
"Probably best to keep your hand there Marcy, incase you decide to try and wave your hands around like a mad woman and fall off the pony." He states, snorting unladylike I shake my head.
"That seems a little far-fetched don't you?" I ask while all the other dwarves were coming up with bets.
"Yes, but I would hate to see you fall because I let you go." His lips brushed my ear once more and a jolt of electricity scattered all down my back. Gulping I nod, and look ahead and try to reduce the blush on my cheeks.
"How much do you bet Miss Marcy?" Bofur calls back to me, I look up and grin mischievously at the hatted dwarf.
"I bet as much as the others that Bilbo will come!" I exclaim, his wide eyed stare made my grin grow.
"What makes you so sure?" He asks.
"I have faith in his tookish side." I smirk and glance to Gandalf and see him chuckling.
"It's your gold Lass, or should I say soon to be my gold." Laughing at the dwarf I shake my head at him. As soon as Bofur turned back to face the front we could all hear a faint: "Wait! Waiiiit!" Chuckling I lean out and look around Kili, seeing Bilbo running as fast as his legs could carry him till he reached us, making all the ponies stop. Grinning up at Kili he rolled his eyes.
"This is why I don't bet" he mumbles, adorably. Giggling I pat his hand and turn back to the Hobbit who handed Balin the contract we both had signed.
"Everything appears to be in order. Welcome, Master Baggins, to the company of Thorin Oakenshield." I see Balin give him a small wink and I cheer with the rest of the Dwarves drawing Bilbo's gaze, beaming down at him I stick my thumbs up in the air as Kili had let go of my waist when we had stopped.
"Give him a pony." Thorin booms out before turning away. Moody dwarf!
"How come he gets a pony?" I grumble and cross my arms in a huff causing both of the brothers to chuckle, I am glad I am the entertainment for today.
"No, no, no, no, that – that won't be necessary, thank you, but I'm sure I can keep up, I've done my fair share of walking holidays, you know. I even got as far as Frogmorton once – ARGH!" Bofur and Fili picked him up and placed him on a pony, shaking my head I lean back against Kili as we start off again, I hope Bilbo is better on a pony than me.
"OI Bofur! I believe you owe me something, as well as the rest of ya!" I shout to the rest of the dwarves and childishly grin before letting out a small shriek as seven coin purses fly at me, thankfully I had Kili who caught them all and placed them in my lap. Smirking at the others I put all the coins, 46 gold coins, in one purse and turn round and look up at Kili.
"Killllliiiiiiii." I smile as charmingly as I could at him, his unimpressed raised eyebrow made the smile drop off my face and instead I pouted.
"Yes?"
"Could you pretty please put this in my back pack please?" I request, I bat my eyelashes up at him to increase the effect of innocence, I don't know why I am so comfortable to joke and tease like this with him but I guess I shouldn't waste it.
"I suppose I could yes, but what is in it for me?" he responds grinning back cheekily. Pretending to gasp I hold a hand to my chest.
"Helping a damsel is not enough for you?" Seeing his grin turn into a smirk I pout again. "Fineeee, what would you like in return for this most gracious action of putting my money in my bag?" I tease and I swear I saw his gaze darken slightly for a moment before a cheeky grin replaced it.
"Well if you are a damsel I guess a kiss would be the best course of action." I swear I have lost my eyebrows in my hair from the shock of that! Laughing slightly I narrowed my eyes; if he wants to play games I can do that.
"I guess you are right Kili, here is my money first." I hand him the purse, trying not to laugh at his shocked expression, he quickly places my money in my bag and turns back to me. "Close your eyes." I whisper softly hiding a wicked grin, seeing his eyes shut I lean forward and kiss the tip of his nose quickly and lean back giggling like a child. His eyes opened with a flash and he joined in the laughing.
"That 'damsel' was not a kiss." He whines as I chuckle and turn around, his arm wraps back around my waist and pulls me comfortably up against his chest.
"Ah it is my 'prince'; you just didn't explain where the kiss should be placed." I reasoned with him, before he could reply Bilbo started getting frantic.
"No, no, wait, wait, stop! Stop! We have to turn around." We all stop as Gandalf asks what was the matter and it turns out Bilbo had forgotten a handkerchief, all this over a handkerchief really?
Bofur tears off strip of material off his shirt and throws it at Bilbo: "Here! Use this." Seeing Bilbo's disgusted face I chuckle and shake my head, poor hobbit.
"Move on." Of course Mister Moody Pants, I salute to the back of Thorin's head, feeling Kili's laughter rumble through his chest my stomach clenches again.
"You really shouldn't antagonise him 'damsel'" he mumbles into my ear making a small grin appear on my lips.
"I promise I'll try not to 'prince'." I reply and send him a small cheeky wink. I turn around and listen to Gandalf as I look at the hills and trees.
"You'll have to manage without pocket-handkerchiefs and a good many other things, Bilbo Baggins, before we reach our journey's end. You were born to the rolling hills and little rivers of the Shire, but home is now behind you; the world is ahead."
And I can't wait to carry on this adventure I think while feeling the arm around my waist clutch me a little tighter and fingers rub soothing circles into my side making warm tingles race from where his fingers touched me. Shutting my eyes I smile, it was turning out to be an interesting adventure.
