Light in a Dark World
Levi lifted Oracle onto her desk. "I'll be right here if you need anything."
Oracle blushed and turned her light off.
Oracle never knew what it was like to see. The men at the factory had damaged her, scratching her metal where her eyes should be. She was thrown out immediately after being finished.
One of the employees, Oracle couldn't tell who it was, rescued her and took her home.
His wife worked at a bank and took Oracle to work with her.
Though a couple weeks after she arrived, the boss caught wind and threw her out. Something about the way the bank looked.
She met Levi after the two were placed on the curbside for trash pickup. They escaped and hid in the woods.
That was, until Steve's father took them in.
Oracle awoke. She turned on her light. She couldn't see her light, but it felt warm.
Levi opened one eye. "What is it?"
"I'm just... thinking." she replied.
"About what happened to us?" Levi asked.
Oracle nodded.
"We've been through a lot," Levi said.
Oracle unplugged her cord and wrapped it around Levi's.
