Okay, so this is basically just going to be me writing about stuff I disagree with in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians/Heroes of Olympus universe/fanverse.

A lot of it will be opinionated, so don't like, don't read.

Disclaimer: I don't own this stuff. R.R. does.

This Chapter is All About Ages:

Let's check out how old Perseus Jackson and Annabeth Chase were in the first two PJO books.

According to the Important Dates page in the Riordan Fandom, Percy Jackson was born in August 1993. He went on his first quest, in June 2005. If you do the math, Percy Jackson is 11 years old for the whole Lightning Thief book.

And pretty much everyone thinks he was 12. (BTW, Annabeth was also 11 the whole time).

And the same goes for the Sea of Monsters. It's in June again, so both Percy and Annabeth are 12.

Again, everyone thinks they're 13.

Oh, and also, what happened to Nico di Angelo's age?

He was introduced in the Titan's Curse, which is set in 2007. He is, supposedly, ten years old. So if we pretend he wasn't born before WW2, and is a normal ten year old, he should be born in 1997. Right?

Nope. In the Heroes of Olympus series, he's 14. The HoO series is set in 2010. Logically, he should be 13.

I guess I kind of understand why Rick Riordan might have bumped up Nico's age. Because if he hadn't, then Nico would have been younger than Hazel and he wanted Hazel to have a big brother. But still!

Okay, now I want to talk about sexism in the Fandom. Fine, maybe not sexism, maybe stereotyping.

Look. For some reason, everyone (in fanfictions and stuff) always writes Annabeth as like, six months younger than Percy.

In a relationship, a girl does not have to be younger than her boyfriend. Annabeth is, in fact, more than month older than Percy.

Same as Piper and Jason. Piper is also, about a month older than Jason. 'Kay?
