Here They Come
The complex was relatively silent. Ava and Rayna took shelter in the Main 5's apartment.
"If it's a fight they want, we'll give it to them!" Radio announced. "We have an army waiting to send them back. As your general, I..."
The other appliances, plus the two newcomers, just stared at him.
"I believe Captain Kirby will be leading the charge," Radio continued. "Since we're dealing with a Rogue Kirby who kills others of his kind."
Rayna faceplugged. "It's not the Kirby doing the crime, it's a green Hitachi Drill. He's just her companion."
Radio continued his speech. "Any minute that trio of ne'er-do-wells will be here. They want to claim the life of young Ava. We will stop them."
Lampy was the only one cheering at first. The others followed suit minutes after.
Debbie opened the door to the complex. Levi and Oracle entered first. Debbie slithered in after them. "All right, now where's somewhere we haven't gone?" She stroked her chin with her plug.
Levi looked around the hall. He pointed his plug at a door. "I think that one."
Debbie slithered forward, brandishing her lockpick. Levi hoisted her up.
Lampy stared at the lock on the door. It twisted, as if someone was unlocking the door.
"Battle stations," he whispered. "They're here."
